Every time he recounts the John Rambo story I’m reminded of how absolutely awful this dude is. He always says “If John had wanted more I would have given it to him dood!” now, but the fact that he didn’t give him more back then shows his true colors. He literally said during the John and Howard react that the number he had in mind was like $200, but when John came forward with his lower offer he immediately took it like he’s a pawn shop owner trying to buy a watch instead of a friend trying to figure out what to pay a business partner.
As an aside, he would be 100% right in saying that it’s his money and it’s no one else’s concern how he spends it…if he wasn’t DSP. When you start begging to the degree that DSP does and claim you need to make $150 a stream just to keep afloat you kinda lose your privilege to get mad when people criticize you for wasting money.
Gotta remember that John only offered $100 after Phil refused to pay him anything until he threatened to not come anymore because he needed a new car.

One thing I picked up on while watching reruns of Judge Judy is she has the phrase "You don't need a good memory if you're telling the truth" and DSP proves that hands down whenever he tries to waffle about his recollection of an event despite saying he doesn't remember or doesn't know anything or any details about what's going on with that. Also liars tends to always have to tell a story with their information instead of the information. If I ask where you went to eat breakfast and I get this whole backstory about how you had a rough night and went to all these other places and did these unrelated things rather than just say McDonalds in the end I'm going to think you are trying to pitch me something.

DSP doesn't know how much he has or how much he owes, and how much he earns or how much he expends. He only has a very vague idea of his net worth but nothing exact, that's why he allows himself to little compulsive buys like daily Doordash or Hogans because he knows he won't go broke for making one of those clicks but refuses to make a much needed house makeover or go on a trip with his "wife". Since he doesn't know his margins at all, DSP fears of making a big purchase only for the credit card to say "no funds".

This is my problem with documentaries that cover Phil they go over the big moments but gloss over what I feel is even more important to understanding who Phil still is today. The little interactions he has with his dents where he talks down to them, or treats them as lesser, which still continues to this day. I'd love to see Phil react to a compilation of those moments with said comments on scree, he would have no defense.

You perfectly described my biggest flaw with Phil: his bad financial habits. Phil went into bankruptcy and BEGGED his fans for money when he at one point had the money and opportunity to save it, but he spent it irresponsibly and he rightfully gets no sympathy.

16 years later, even after watching Joon’s hard hitting documentary Phil still refuses to take any responsibility for any of his past mistakes or wrongdoing. Phil’s blatant financial illiteracy and irresponsibility is only outdone by his insane mental gymnastics.
DSP has some weird f3tishes and some are new. We have the schedule f3tish, apology f3tish. And now we have the "got ya" or you got felted f3tish. He has this new thing where he constantly sees everything in the lense of trying to get the gotcha moment on others. And directly skirts accountability and responsibility to dodge his own gotchas.
Pathelogical lying hasnt taken a backseat to this new f3tish either. Its ramped up even further. What is happening currently reminds me of Season 7, Episode 118 of Futurama, "The Thief of Baghead". In this episode, Langdon Cobb, the bad guy, gets his ego fed by admiration and grows so big, that it becomes a very hostile and dangerous threat that the planet express crew has to deal with. DSP this month has become Langdon Cobb. Phils ego has grown to insane porportions. His delusions of grandoor have him believing that his pathelogical lying, berating, scamming, manipulation, bankruptcy/tax fraud, racism, ect are little tiny things that literally nobody cares about. He honestly thinks that the entire internet as a whole likes him now. He somehow sat through the documentary and shrugged off accountability left and right, while retconning and coming up with new, unthought out, lazily constructive narratives that make 0 sense. Dont even get me started on the Craig "interview. Dude really thinks he was super concise and logical, and cooked Craig.
Funny thing is, the tips have already started to slow down. Hes been having to bring that up in his begs recently. This arc will be over soon enough, once his ego is crushed back down to his normal size. And he shuts himself back in the hoarded, dilapidated snortfort with 0 human interaction.
Can confirm as someone who never had money when I first started making more money than I needed to live I bought some stupid shit. Shit I didn’t need. Shit that just took up wall space. I was 20. By 23 I changed my entire mindset. It was a 3 year lesson for me to learn. But at least I learned it unlike DSP.
