The sole responsibility for all of this is on Phil's shoulders. It's his refusal to prepare. He is absolutely dead set against trying. He just wants to fling whatever to the wall and see what sticks. He had all the time in the world to figure out how to change his set up for his "co-op" streams, but he instead employed his usual "f it" attitude and just winged it. Even after the first stream he had a week to get his set up changed over, to put his best foot forward, to set his wife up for success. He just couldn't be bothered.
It's scary how he approaches everything like he does with games. Just charge head first over and over until something works and gets him through. He's just trying everything hoping that one combination of gameplay and game is going to be the magical solution he gets a big donation for doing.

Also, I love how he fails to acknowledge that HE was the one building up this co-op event, HE was the one bitching about how long it takes to unlock the island, HE was the one saying he wanted to have it ready for the big Valentine's Day stream. Then HE wants to complain that his viewers set their expectations too high.
Phil, buddy, your audience isn't asking Kat to get her streaming up to their level. That's incredibly unrealistic. They're asking her to get closer to *your* level, which is far, far more manageable

I hate how he always mentions how he's not sponsored as if it's because of his high morality and not that he couldn't even if he wanted to.
He called Overcooked boring because he got bored watching people play it co-op. Me and my wife played through Overcooked 1 and 2 and all the DLC over the years and had a ball. He just hates possibly looking dumb in front of his wife since those games require you to come up with a strategy.
Same thing with It Takes Two. Not only do they have to strategize to solve the puzzles, they have to deal with a story dealing with divorce and looking at and accepting your spouse’s flaws.
Dude I'm playing through it takes two right now with my wife. We're making good progress, but there is no fuggin way the pig and horse could. It's not baby easy and requires thinking and timing.

It’s sad watching Phil treat his “wife” as a mere prop/pet. He almost 90% of the time only refers to her as his “Wife”. He brings her on stream so that he can sit back and read chat and monitor the tips (less work).
This woman needs a way to reclaim her life and get away from this “man”. Just watching her destroy herself under pignosis and slump over with no will to live in those streams is telling.
It's not even that he used her as a prop . He conned her that grinding the most boring part of the game for his playtrough for him was co-op gameplay.

Some time ago I saw an older video where DSP was showing his house. His office was setup in the weirdest way. He had all this space, yet has it set up that makes it seem the room is small. He very easily could setup all his systems so that he can connect one or more (bigger) screens in a way that he and Kat can easily read and respond. I mean, if Kat is more comfortable it could technically enhance the fun factor. Provided the fact that they aren't a real couple. Hence why Phil calls couples who do, fake.
I think it's just so telling that this first suggestion is so well thought out, fair, explained itself and took into account his strengths and weaknesses. And he decides to angrily quick read through it at the end, then gives that shmuckle kind of laugh like it's a ridiculous suggestion to actually play a co-op game, and play a game that is just light and fun, to have her be in a better mood and have equal levels of talking, to not have her be basically a video game maid doing your chores.
And that's just how he read and initially reacted to it, can't wait for how much he'll dodge every problem likes it's not his own fault and is actually kats fault, the games fault, the viewers fault and tevins fault, and the RPG overload.

So he's basically saying that even though Kat was on stream for once we were supposed to kind of just ignore her existence and not try and talk to her, and not ask too many questions. It's not the focus that a another human is actually on camera for once in years. The first time since you lastplayed with John has someone played 'with you'(Cause it was not co-op) how is this a good idea for a stream? Or a focus on the stream? You are blatently telling everyone that her appearance was simply the same as the decorations in the background or Jasper walking in. I would be totally offended if my partner said I existed to be there and nothing else. Either that or he is basically saying his wife is a dead fish and you should expect her to be as engaging as paint drying. WHich is also insulting.
To me it sounded more like she was so reserved because Phil made her be that way. Any time she was speaking, she was constantly looking at him, then talked over by him. When questions only she would know like her make up brands and stuff came up. Phil shut down any conversation at all. Cause either he is hiding things and doesn't know if her brands are expensive, or whatever it might be. Or he doesn't know/care about that topic so they can't talk about it. Cause he can't control it. Also the amount of times he gave her permission to do things. It's just really strange, and creepy. it makes their relationship look very toxic, and Phil has no idea because, as always, he is an alien.

The idea that watching something and finding it boring will translate over to playing it and also finding it boring is just a wasted opportunity. I couldn’t get through 10 minutes of anyone’s BG3 playthrough without clicking off from boredom. I have now logged in 500+ hours, several characters and playthroughs, and the golden dice from finishing Honour mode. You won’t know how you’ll react to something if you don’t give it a chance.
