I’m 75 and have been thrifting for longer than you’ve been alive. I have a number of beautiful things that I love. I have a huge variety of dark wooden candlesticks that I pull out at Xmas and put matching tapers in. The mix is wonderful. I also have a lot of handmade pottery, much of it from the 70’s. Large pieces that would have been unaffordable when new. My favorite is a lasagne pan that is perfect for entertaining. Love your posts.
You have made me so happy. I have been losing hope with so many RUclips creators, but today you pronounced esthetic correctly, and used it correctly in a sentence. You also show that you know that the candle stick is not the candle. Yes, I am happy (and most likely petty), and I have subscribed.
you officially changed my mind about trays. the ones I've seen at the thrift store are not really my style though, so I'd love to see how you would DIY or upcycle them. I'm really enjoying this series, keep the videos coming!
I'm loving this inspirational series. I'm going to keep my eye out for pottery. You made it look so cool! One other tip to buy at a thrift store are down throw pillows that I can change out the cover. I never bring them in my home until they're laundered.
Ironing sanitizes everything. If you're worried about the cleanliness of cloth items from the thrift store, just iron them - but pay attention to the fiber content and adjust the iron setting accordingly.
great presentation. good choices because many of these items are left behind in thrift stores. people look for signed ceramics like mccoy etc., but studio or even hobbyist pottery can be beautiful and much less money. people get rid of items that are too large often, also people entertain less at home, and it’s common to find big trays, bowls, which are great on counters. tablecloths and napkins and placemats are also common, i got 2 beautiful waverly placemats and months later in the same place found 2 chair pads in the same pattern, all barely used. not only candlesticks, but candles themselves which can get very expensive are common finds.
absolutely agree with you Donna! I LOVE when I pick up something at one thrift store and then like a month later in a neighboring city I find the match to it! its what makes thrifting so fun for me : ) thank you so much for watching!
I recently found your helpful videos and am so inspired. I want to share about a wifi plug that I found very helpful. You simply plug it in to the wall and then plug in your lamp or anything. You can turn the lamp etc on by just using an app on your phone. This made it so we didnt have to install a new outdoor switch. Great videos I will watching. Thanks
Great video again, very polished and informative presentation. I enjoy seeing the thrifting very much and its great to encourage others on the many benefits of second hand finds including how individual it makes a space.
It's honestly my favorite thing! I wish I knew about it sooner. So I guess that's why I made this series cause I would have wanted to see how to include 2nd hand pieces into my existing space or use them to make it look elevated and chic : )
@@livingwithlk I found it right after I commented🤦♀️ I should’ve deleted my asking for it but was so happy watching part 3 I forgot🤭 Apologies😘 Again, thank you so very much for everything you share. It always feels personal and relatable.

How do you keep candles from dripping wax all down the sides of the candle holders and onto the surface beneath?
What do you mean?
