The work you’ve done is genuinely incredible, even helping me to inspire my own spin-off idea for shin godzilla! I’m too much of a wuss to watch horror without commentary to break the immersion, but still seeing what you’ve made is genuinely incredible, a unique story that I one day hope to at least compare to. From the bottom of my heart, thank you Unkn0wingly for such an incredible horror story.
Oh that’s interesting I thought dorsal extraction was like them taking the suit off only to reveal he had grown a new set of skin. I hope to see more from you the series is so unique and interesting.
If the lady in the larvae suit comes out as a Mothra this would mean that (assuming they take on the roles of the monsters) she is a "protector of humanity" meaning that she is possibly on the humans side of this whole thing and could possibly help revert the people in the suits
In the Showa era, Mothra is more of a benevolent and good-natured Kaiju who's the goddess of Infant Island. She'll help humanity, but she'll also attack them if they threaten her home or eggs! So if the woman in the suit had the same tragedy as Goji she might attack humans like in her debut film Mothra 1961!

Matpat you're over thinking the first video. The title is called dorsal extraction for a reason. They were able to cut off Goji's dorsal fin, but Goji already exploded to fill the suit remember? So they couldn't get him out. (Thanks for getting this to the third most popular comment in terms of likes apart from unknowingly)
He always overthinks things. Going back to watch his older playthroughs of games, he goes way off the deep end. I do like watching his stuff, but it reminds me of how frustrating i am to others when I do the same thing.
I love how Mat has yet to realize that there's like a dozen films before they reach Mechagodzilla, since Mechagodzilla was first introduced in the last films of the original continuity in the 70s.
I would much rather look at this from the perspective of the consequences, not the pain. Sure, if you get springlocked, you die in a lot of pain, but at least you die. Being melted into this suit completely changes your anatomy, your ability to communicate with others, your ability to do the things you like, your own mind, etc. I would much rather be spinglocked than lose everything that makes me who I am.
54:52: I'm guessing by "Tasers" they mean cattle prods. That line made me curious as to when Tasers were invented, and according to a quick search, it was the mid-1970s, but this series (this video specifically) is supposed to take place in 64. About 10 years before the taser was invented. Cattle prods would have been around though as they were invented in the 1930's. Or who knows... maybe I'm looking too much into this and it was a simple oversight lol. Probably the latter.

I dont think you'll see this, but about the larvae thing. With the "this is what they expected" thing it doesn't even look like a human. Its because they knew exactly what would happen this time. They knew they would fuse with the suit. But turns out that it was even worse
this came at a perfect time i just got done watching yesterday's episode and was wondering when the next analog part would be up and here we are! This series is incredible and it blows me away with how grounded it is.
Dorsal extraction *could* refer to the fins, but "dorsal" technically just means back. So they could have been trying to extract him from the back of the suit.
I’m not sure if anyone else explained this but I think I recognize the sound from the beginning of Dorsal Extraction. It sounds like a Geiger Counter. They used one in the original Gojira the morning after he attacked a fishing island after a storm.

I find it interesting that with the sleeping bag bit that he mentioned was an actual scene that was deleted in Friday the 13th Part 7 where Jason slams someone around and was removed for being too violet at the time in 1988.
Matt asked what they could do with King Ghidorah and my idea is that since in most versions (from his original introduction to the Hollywood version), Ghidorah is an alien invader who challenges Godzilla, so Ghidorah in the series could be an “alien” (someone not from Japan, maybe even American given how much The Man in the Suit hates Americans) that Toho makes on purpose to try and stop The Man in The Suit. That or make him a straight up alien, which would be wild.
I think the incorporation of the parents in Mosura Suit Incident along with the larvae suit actress is purposeful and subverts the expectation of her just being Mothra, but rather the three merging to become Ghidorah
something to consider is how the role the characters have in the franchise may play a part in things. so Anguirus is godzilla's best friend so the video introducing himplays on that idea, with gozilla trying to convince anguirus to accept his new form and to join him. So if we do get ghidorah I think they'll play with HIS role: as godzilla's archenemy.

unknowingly bamboozling matpat's photoshop is highly amusing. Also i cannot wait for the next part of this series and the ghosbusters one too... im so excited!
I feel like matpat was thinking a bit too hard. When he saw the images of Godzilla after the extraction and said it’s strange as he should have been out of the suit, the reason he was probably still in a suit was because they put him in a new suit, because it’s mentioned at the start that he escaped during the production of a new movie.
Ikr!? Literally, end scene shows Japan could NOT have timed their plan closer to the brink: Godzilla was about to start literally shedding human-zilla hybrid humanoids from its tail...
@@MechFung Geoff Keighley is who is being referenced here. During this last Games Awards the winners were shuffled off-stage quickly to move to the next scheduled advertisment for upcoming games. He loved games enough to turn the Games Awards into what it is today... A monument to profit. Then again, how many people can resist the promise of 'more money' in this society?
@@josephsaltarella7335 To play devil's advocate just for the sake of it: the Game Awards are an enormous, and most especially _expensive,_ event that has to get funding from somewhere in order to happen. That funding comes from investors; the companies that use it as a vehicle to show their commercials. Some of those investors are game companies, which is why they want to show as many game commercials as they can; it nets more money, which funds the event beforehand, as they were promised a certain amount of screen time, which they paid for before the event. Essentially, it went like this: the event organizers (including Geoff), promised [x] number of companies screen time for their commercials during the Game Awards, which they were then paid for, which then funded the Game Awards itself, but only under the promise that their commercials would be played. Ergo, in order to fill enough commercial slots to fund the event, they couldn't allow for much time between adverts, as there many adverts to be shown. _Assuming_ all the money went into the organization of the actual Game Awards event, it may just be that it's a particularly expensive event to fund and the only way to do it is to get more ad revenue from investors. If they wanted to extend the length of the show in order to space out the ads better, it then has the knock-on effect of costing more because the show runs longer, resulting in an exponential increase in run costs, requiring more investor money, resulting in the same problem. It's a catch-22. The only real solution at that point is to demand more money from each investor per ad, not run more ads, which may scare off investors, undercutting the funding for the event. I'm not saying it excuses what happened, nor that it was all necessarily above board - I'm sure not all the money was used expressly for the organization of the event and may have gone to some less-than-scrupulous causes - but it doesn't necessarily mean the event is some cynical cash-grab either. I'm sure many of the people involved in its organization are genuine in their passion for video games and their desire to make a grand award show celebrating them. It's just unfortunate that it gets overshadowed by incompetence, poor planning, and, yeah, some measure of greed.
so the thing about Mecha Godzilla: he ISN'T a replacement for godzilla. in his first appearance he was an evil robot created by aliens to make the world think godzilla was evil (this was during the period where godzilla was explcitly a hero and not portrayed antagonistically) and ultiamtely defeated by the real godzilla once the ruse was revealed. in later movies he was brougth back as a weapon of the Anti-Godzilla squad (as that was a thing during the 2000's era), created from the bones of the original godzilla as a way of defeating the monster once and for all
The movie with the sleeping bag is most likely Friday the 13th Part VII, and the thing that said "moste figure Godzilla" was just the title of the movie "Mothra vs. Godzilla"
So, so far, they put a radioactive man in a suit that fuses with it to become an abomination. They get him to keep doing movies and put him in a variety of situations which push his mental well being He's fused with the suit, and eventually they cut him out of it, tearing it off him. (I imagine they'll use the original godzilla suit when building mecha godzilla, with it bursting out of it, or the suit burning into flames, can't remember how exactly it occurred) Now he remains as a fleshy godzilla like creature, which they treat worse than an animal. They keep him caged up, not letting the world know about him, force him to keep making movies, they start using prop creatures. They then put him in a scene with this lava with a person inside.... For reasons, and he thinks they're like him? Maybe he was trying to get them out of the suit? Or end them so they don't have to live the way he does?
its pretty clear he intended to turn the actress into mothra, much like the angurus incident. its why he;s protecting them: because he sees them as friends/family/soldiers in his army and thus are precious to him and wants to make morelike him, as explained in the subtitles in the anguirus video

Hey, to Matt and Ash, don’t feel bad for overanalyzing. As I heard in math class, always double check your work. 35:08 why does this look like a reaction image
I feel bad for the Guy in the suit. He is so filled with rage and it doesn’t help he is being fused with the suit thanks to radiation, which has made a Hulk like persona, but with more revenge state of mind. The sad part is by him becoming this beast and losing his humanity, he is going to forget the reason he wore the suit. To send a message so the loss of life like Hiroshima would not happen again, but in the end, he has become something that would do the same thing as the nuke did, becoming the very thing he hated to begin with. You could see this as an example to not let your rage control you, because revenge will get you nothing but an empty ending. And the worst part is, is this whole plot for revenge, which I believe is too turn others in suits into monsters like him so he can have an army to destroy America, Is hurting fellow Japanese citizens, basically making him know better than those that launched the nuke, and he won’t realize his mistake until it’s too late. I hope people learn from this analog. The path of revenge is not just or satisfying, It’s why the saying goes, It’s why you dig two graves, one for The one you killed and the one for you.

"there was this one guy, thatbwent up with that one dev team"
Ash...do you have ANY idea how little that narrows it down!? XD
ive been looking forward to another episode of this and you released it at the perfect time :D
50:05 In the movie, Godzilla actually slaps Mothra around when she bites his tail.
There are 2 newer episodes for now as far as I know, one about anguirus, the other is seven updates on the situation
35:06 man just wanted a ride
At this point, Unknowingly needs to have a Film Theory video about his series. 👍🙏👌😀
unknowingly bamboozling matpat's photoshop is highly amusing.
Also i cannot wait for the next part of this series and the ghosbusters one too... im so excited!
Lowkey interested in having matt go through marblehornets. It's an oldie but a goodie
37:26 personally I think they removed one of the dorsal fins from the suit so they could study it and possibly any of the man’s flesh inside of it
"Love them curves" -Matthew Patrick, 1/5/24
15:11 It sounds like a Geiger counter (the tool used for measuring radiation)
I feel like matpat was thinking a bit too hard. When he saw the images of Godzilla after the extraction and said it’s strange as he should have been out of the suit, the reason he was probably still in a suit was because they put him in a new suit, because it’s mentioned at the start that he escaped during the production of a new movie.
no he was still in th suit, they jsut cut a piece off him
This is one of the best Analog Horror series yet. Very interested to see what the first theory video will be about.
25:00
It isn't pronounced Ang-guy-res. It's pronounced Ang-gear-es. Would be best to see how they pronounce it in the films to get a better idea.
It hurt every time he said it
15:43 it sounded like radiation sensor sped up to me
Am I really this early? Fantastic! Thanks for the video MatPat! Always love your content! ❤
I can't wait for more of this series, and I'm glad to hear it's got MatPat interested in checking out some Godzilla movies.
definitely look up the Shin Godzilla to see how similar it is to the Man in the Suit.
Ikr!? Literally, end scene shows Japan could NOT have timed their plan closer to the brink: Godzilla was about to start literally shedding human-zilla hybrid humanoids from its tail...
15:12 the sound that you point out as not a code? I am pretty sure that's a Geiger counter.
Mat pat before: "MUSIC MAN!"
Mat pat now maybe: "MECHA GODZILLA!"
I think you meant to say MUSIC GODZILLA!!!!!!!!!
I find it pretty funny that matpat mentioned the other 4 of tohos big 5 by accident, only bringing up rodan because he mixed him up with ghidorah.
Yeah, he respect games and the creators so much to put a screen saying "wrap it up" so that more commercials happen
?
@@MechFung Geoff Keighley is who is being referenced here. During this last Games Awards the winners were shuffled off-stage quickly to move to the next scheduled advertisment for upcoming games.
He loved games enough to turn the Games Awards into what it is today... A monument to profit. Then again, how many people can resist the promise of 'more money' in this society?
@@josephsaltarella7335 Ty for explaining
yeah, to quote Jontron:
that one didn't age well at all.
It's just unfortunate that it gets overshadowed by incompetence, poor planning, and, yeah, some measure of greed.
he's just standing there menacingly 35:03
I saw a Godzilla v Kong poster at the movies and I thought of TMITS
so the thing about Mecha Godzilla: he ISN'T a replacement for godzilla. in his first appearance he was an evil robot created by aliens to make the world think godzilla was evil (this was during the period where godzilla was explcitly a hero and not portrayed antagonistically) and ultiamtely defeated by the real godzilla once the ruse was revealed.
in later movies he was brougth back as a weapon of the Anti-Godzilla squad (as that was a thing during the 2000's era), created from the bones of the original godzilla as a way of defeating the monster once and for all
I was happy with Five nights at Freddy’s help wanted 2 but I am so happy we finally get more of this
The movie with the sleeping bag is most likely Friday the 13th Part VII, and the thing that said "moste figure Godzilla" was just the title of the movie "Mothra vs. Godzilla"
Been waiting for this one
Matpat:"thank you auto" auto from wall-e: no problem 🤖
There’s the straight path, then there’s the “MattPath”
40:12 : when when my friend sees me in their fridge at 2pm
Gods this is so spooky
0:54 matpat forgot the ';' in ; however, T_T
So, so far, they put a radioactive man in a suit that fuses with it to become an abomination.
They get him to keep doing movies and put him in a variety of situations which push his mental well being
He's fused with the suit, and eventually they cut him out of it, tearing it off him.
(I imagine they'll use the original godzilla suit when building mecha godzilla, with it bursting out of it, or the suit burning into flames, can't remember how exactly it occurred)
Now he remains as a fleshy godzilla like creature, which they treat worse than an animal.
I was not expecting Mat to bring up the Mobile leprechaun, oh my god
Godzilla suit Vs zoo chimp can't wait
11:40 No, you are actually famous now.
I think it was your FNAF cameo that gave you that finale push.
Not exactly your "a star is born" moment but the door is definitely now open.
For some reason I see you being on The Boys, no idea why though.
I wonder if you'll be doing some theories based off the upcoming Godzilla vs Kong
50:47 is it weird to say that i would love to have a mothra sleeping bag or a giant mothra larva stuffy?
HIGHWAY TO THE DANGER ZONE.
"however comma!" my new fav thing to say lol
NOT THE MIMIC!!!
