Thanks for the tutorial! Just bought a sewing/embroidery machine combo, so I'll have embroidered numbers on it for my daughter! Looking forward to making this! I'm thinking about making mine stocking shaped... although, that will be more work, I think...
I would love to make one of these! My favourite is the charmed squares. Your ideas on what to put inside each one are awesome! Perhaps on the cards I would write things we could do for a neighbor or friend. 😊
Thankyou for this gorgeous advent calendar 😍 I’m a semi beginner sewist but am sure I can handle this. I’m going to put Lego pieces in each pocket and will have the mini figures and map where to find the instruction booklet in Day 24. Should be fun. I’m going to save the card idea for next year. Thanks again from Australia 😊
always wanted to buy one of these but so expensive but your idea is great but has to wait till next year, I would like to have a flap on them so would that be easy to do? Hope you still get this comments
Hi Linda, I had considered adding flaps so my kids wouldn't see what was in it. I think it is possible...perhaps I need to try to make one and post in next October......I will think on this.
I was what did you make the backing from. Will it work with flexible toweling between the fabrics or does it have to be quilting fabric in the middle. I want to make 2 for my kids this year because there is just rubbish in the advent calenders and can be expensive. I also want to add their favourite treats like little packets things they will enjoy and stay away from chocolate and candy
That’s the same reason why I made mine! And some of the pockets I filled with “adventures” like driving around and looking at Christmas lights. As for the toweling. It may look lumpy. But in the end it’s up to you. I suggest using a fusible fleece or batting. Happy sewing!
I do not get the free PDF download for the numbers when I add my name and email address to your site. Have tried several times but nothing has arrived.
Hi Angela, Have you looked in your spam folder? I just test ran the link and everything worked for me when I gave it my email address. I hope you were able to find it. Sorry for my delayed reply.
Great project to make with easy instructions to follow. I’m putting jigsaw piece puzzles in my pockets to eventually make a big Christmas puzzle

Kellie! I love that idea! It’s such a great way to encourage the kids to think of others.
I loved the tropical flower in the selection. 🤗

You can also buy little patch numbers for not a lot of money--I found a big bag at Michael's that are different fonts, and it looks pretty nifty.
That's a great idea! I didn't know you could do that, what a time saver!
I made mine yesterday kind of what you’re showing here. No batting & I put a gnome in the pocket & then will move it each day.
Jackie that’s a great idea! I just bought some gnome fabric to make a third advent calendar.
I will probably iron on numbers I make from my cricut.
Linette! I must admit I did contemplate how helpful a cricut could have been for this project. Enjoy that shortcut!
This seems to be super easy. I need to make 5 of them.
I'm doing both. Fat quarter and charm packs.
awesome tutorial thank you
So glad you enjoyed it!
I love this! I can’t wait to do it!
So glad to hear it Karen! I have made these two and have a goal to sew one more this week. I am so happy with how they turned out ☺️ happy sewing!

also do you trace them twice? i'm sorry i didn't understand the tracing mirror part
Tamara, which charm pack did you use from Amazon?
Thank you.

Hi Hanna, I got it at my local quilt shop last year. I can't remember what it would have been called. So sorry!
