    This coconut psyllium flatbread is soft, tender, with light coconut flavor. It's not only vegan and gluten-free, but it's also paleo and keto friendly. I usually serve it alongside Indian dishes, but it's also perfect as a low-carb tortilla or wrap.

    I made this wraps yesterday and they turned out great. I used baking power as instructed in the website not baking soda as mentioned in the video. My wraps did shrink a little while cooking and they looked a little purple but they were very soft and flexible for wraps. You can taste the coconut flour. I suggest adding some onion powder or any other flavor you enjoy. Of course once you fill your wrap with hummus and your desire veggies you are good to go. I like them. I will continue making them!😋

    Hmmmm. I'm thinking that either adding some nutritional yeast or onion powder - or both - would mask the coconut flavor for those who find that objectionable. UPDATE: I made these today with the additions above, and they are VERY good. They hold together well and taste great, even without a filling. No slimey texture as with flaxseed flour. Thanks for sharing a great recipe!

      The basics can be tweeked many ways, i use 3/4cup ground gold flax, 3/4 cup coconut flour, 2 tablespoon psyllium husk, 1/2 teaspoon baking powder, almost a teaspoon of salt, and tablespoon olive oil. You can roll them out without 2sheets of parchment or plastic. Got 7- 7" wraps. The winning point for me was that the taste was so mild that you can taste the light creamyness of butter when you put it on them. Roughly 5carb ea. Have a good day

    Psyllium husk absorbs water like anything! Because if enough water not drank , psyllium will absorb water from content in the intestine causing more of constipation rather than helping you get rid of constipation. And people eating this flat bread may neither know this special characteristic of Psyllium , not their intention here, is to cure constipation, will suffer with constipation due to lack of water intake required for Psyllium husk. People who take psyllium husk as a constipation treatment the method is as below:So one has to be careful to drink water as mentioned below: Take 1 teaspoon of finely ground psyllium husk once a day in the morning, mixed with at least 8 ounces of liquid and followed by an additional 8-ounce glass of water. You may feel full and even more bloated the first few days, but after a week your body should be used to the increased fiber. Now, as an ingredient of flat bread, you may notice that very less qualtity of water is used compared to what it needs to be! Just a friendly tip I am sharing here.

      @jnv1971 5 лет назад +7

      Just add more salt. Sodium concentrations will always equalize, so if your food has a higher sodium concentration than the rest of your body, water will enter your intestines from your blood and lymph system. If your food has a lot of indigestible fiber, that fiber will absorb the water and relieve your constipation.

      Kristi A. Jones you know what’s funny? When I talked about Petra and her recipes from my mom, my mom said she sounded like such a good friend. 😁
      I had to clarify that I only know Petra through RUclips and that I make a lot of her recipes and got some free silicone bags from her. 😜
      Would be great to have Petra as a friend. It’s just that I’m at US East Coast while she is at Canada West Coast. 😃

    I'm loving this. Also like the flax seed wraps you made not so long ago. I made the coconut flour/psyllium husk wrap last night....absolute winner. Can't wait to see what other gluten free wrap recipes you come up with. I remember seeing pumpkin and psyllium wraps at my local grocery store. Do you have a recipe for that perhaps?

    This was a great recipe. I'd prefer them thicker though, especially if you're going to have it with some curry. Texture was great, nice and spongy, less so if you cook it a bit longer. Adding this one to my repertoire. Thanks!

    You can put the psyllium in the blender and make a powder like material. Also there is a Danish manufacturer who solved the issue on taste - patented method... :-)

    Tried this recipe last night and it's good. I used psyllium husk powder instead of the whole psyllium husk. Use extra water when you do this.
    Barely tasted any coconut and I was just slathering in butter and going omnomnomnomnom. It is now the next morning, OMG what is that monster the toilet? 💩

    Just to clarify, you used baking soda, not baking powder? I have the exact recipe and I've been using homemade baking powder. The result is a delicious, but much thicker flatbread. Guess I'll try it your way! Thanks for posting! Blessings on you and yours and all who read this!
