For anyone in the UK it is 2 thirds of a cup of water not 2 to 3 cups. I made it wrong thinking it meant cups and I know someone else who did the exact same as me. Now I have figured out what went wrong I love making a sandwich with this wrap!!! I added half a teaspoon of garlic powder & onion powder in mine this time and they are lovely!!! Thank you for the recipe!!!

I made these wraps tonight using the dark flaxseeds, because that's all i had on hand.
I used our regular Ninja Blender to blend them, because we dont have a vitamix, and it took about 10 mins until they were ground up into a flour.
I then sifted the flour through a sieve or strainer, to get out any clumps, or in case some of the seeds didn't get ground up.
I then followed the recipe exactly as she posted, and they came out perfect.
My husband and i loved them!
We will be using this recipe again!
I think i have found my new favorite wrap!
Thank you for all of your encouraging videos! ❤️

@Avie Poll that's an interesting comment. Could you point me to your sources please.
Sorry, I'm struggling with what you say as animals get their vitamins and minerals the same place humans do - from plants - unless they are factory farmed where they get fed supplements.

    • @knechtcatherine1607
      @knechtcatherine1607 5 лет назад +4

@Avie PollAre you sure? I can clearly remember that a study showed that vegans (who didn't supplement in EPA) had almost as much EPA as omnivorous people. So doctors didn't know what to recommend anymore. To be sure there was no deficiencies, they recommended a supplementation to children, pregnant women and old people. And recently I watched a video with the dr Fuhrman who said that the supplementation was necessary for some people who had difficulties to make EPA and HDA from ALA.

Thanks for the great recipe. Its a gold mine for low carbers! ..eating bread again! Fantastic!
    I have 3 questions:
    - Did you try reducing the quantity of water a bit to get a firmer dough that can be rolled directly on the counter without the need for parchment paper?
    - In your blog you said "Turn the heat off and stir immediately with a wooden spoon, until the flaxseed meal absorbs all the water". But in the video you actually did not turn it off until the flaxseed was all wet. So which is better in your experience?
    - Could you please post the links to those studies you mentioned, made by Journal of Nutritional Biochemistry, the British Journal of Nutrition, and the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition - that have concluded that the Omega-3 fatty acids in flaxseed are resistant to oxidation even when cooked for 60 minutes at 660°F (350°C) ?

This was SO helpful, Petra! I'm going to try it this weekend! May I ask what Tanner's occupation is? I think he should be a food critic on the side... :)

    Olá!
Gostei da ideia desse pão e gostaria de saber mais sobre o processo de preparação. O q vc usou foi gergelim? Pq sua massa deu liga? A minha não deu. O q vc fez depois do cozimento, sovou? Levou pra geladeira? E a quantidade de cada ingrediente? Sei q deve ter falado mas não entendo seu idioma. Pode explicar melhor?
    Obrigada

Made these this morning, they were delicious. My only complaint is that I didn’t make more. They were devoured instantly. Thanks for the recipe.

Can the wraps be frozen? Also how long would they last in the fridge? Last question, promise 😊. If I add plant milk and maybe vanilla extract, would they turn into crepe? Thanks for the video. It's really great.

Yes, they can be frozen (all the instructions are in the recipe box on my blog). They last 4-5 days in the fridge. I have never tried making crepes out of flaxseeds, but it might work :)

Thank you. I used your recipe today using dark flaxseed. Came out much better than yesterdays recipe that used 1/2 cup, super fine Almond flour, 2 tablespoons of Psyllium husk, olive oil, salt and water. Awful. Thank you again.

Do you know about how many grams (one dough ball) makes one 8 inch tortilla? I will be using a tortilla press and I don't want to guess at how big the ball should be to make one 8 inch tortilla since I will not be rolling it and cutting with a plate. The tortilla press will make a perfect circle.

I cooked mine 3-4 min. on a hot, well-seasoned cast iron skillet and was thrilled . . . at first. Five hours later and they feel cold & damp. Did I not cook them long enough?
