    INGREDIENTS
    ---------------------
    1/2 cup pumpkin seeds
    1/2 cup sunflower seeds
    1/4 cup chia seeds
    1/4 cup white sesames
    1/4 cup black sesames
    2 tbsp psyllium husk powder
    (or 4 tbsp ground flaxseed)
    (or 4 tbsp ground chia seed)
    1 tsp coarse sea salt (adjust to your taste)
    2 tsp dried oregano (or other herbs of your choice)
    ½ cup cold water
    DIRECTIONS
    ------------------
    1. Mix the seeds, psyllium husk powder, dried herb and salt together in a bowl.
    2. Add in the water and mix everything well. Leave to rest for 15-20mins.
    3. Spread the seed mixture on an ungreased baking tray (regular cracker thickness). Note: if the mixture still feels too loose at this stage, sprinkle a small amount of psyllium husk powder)
    4. Bake in a 150C/300F preheated oven for 30-35 mins (or till crispy). Option to cut crackers half way into the baking time while the mixture is still slightly soft (10-15 mark).
    5. Leave to cool for a few minutes and enjoy.
    AVOCADO SPREAD
    -----------------------
    Chopped avocado
    Vegan mayo (or vegan yoghurt)
    A drizzle of extra virgin olive oil
    Salt to season
    Mix all ingredients together and that’s it!

    I make a double batch of these! I have not been without since recipe posted 3 months ago. These are so good. I make just as Heavenly Fan instructs .. but a lot more seasonings and heavy on garlic powder. I do score them before they set to much. Then when done, I flip them over and leave in oven over night. They hold together very well and super crispy. When I take them with a use a small glass container w a snap in lid. In I put in a baggie and toss in my lunchbox, I would have loose seeds. After my big container at home is empty, I look forward to a couple table spoons of seeds to eat!! So love these. Thank you HeavenlyFan!!! 😄😘❤️

    To make this even easier / faster, every time you make a recipe, measure out all the seeds and binder for a second or third portion and put them in separate jars or containers. The next time you want to make the crackers, just add water and flavouring.

    Hi Fan. Love your channel. I am a Vegan and am thinking of trying Keto using many of your recipes. One query though. I eat plenty of beans and lentils as a staple mainly for the protein. These are quite high in carbs so not on the Keto Vegan go to. I rarely hear you mention protein and I am worried that I would not meet my daily requirements(60 grams). I would be grateful if you have any thoughts on that?

    • @HeavenlyFan
      @HeavenlyFan  3 года назад

      Hi Trevor, if you look at more recent studies, the amount of protein required by a healthy person has often been over-estimated. Keto actually promotes high fat, low carb and moderate protein. There are many vegan keto protein source you can incorporate in your new diet (seeds, nuts, spinach, broccolis, tofu etc) which is plenty to maintain a healthy body.

    The recipe is easy to make and delicious. I do have a question though : I liked the crisp texture when they came out of the oven but became soft after I stored them in a tin box. How can I store them so that they keep their crunchy texture?

    • @HeavenlyFan
      @HeavenlyFan  3 года назад +1

      You can leave them in the oven to cool for extra crispiness. And make sure they're in room temperature before you place them in the an air-tight container. They should stay crispy.

    Calculated this using the nutritional information on the ingredient packaging. Yielded 33 crackers for me but you can calculate your own using the totals at the bottom.
    Seed Crackers (combine below ingredients with 1/2 c cold water and seasonings) 300degreesf 30-35m
    *60gm pumpkin seed(340cal,30 fat, 6carbs, 4 fiber) 2 net carbs
    *60gm sunflower seed (320cal, 28 fat, 14carbs, 6fiber) 8net carbs
    *60 gm sesame seed (340cal, 32fat, 10 carbs, 6 fiber) 4 net carbs
    *45 gm chia seed (225 cal, 15 fat, 15carbs, 15 fiber) 0 net carbs
    *30 gm psyllium husk powder (90 cal, 0 fat,
    27 carbs, 27 fiber) 0 net carbs
    Total Net Carbs = 14
    Total calories= 1,315
    Total fat= 105
    33 crackers= 0.42 net carbs per cracker, 40 cal per cracker, 3 fat per cracker
    Thank you Heavenly Fan for this lovely recipe!

    IMO, I find it .. what words to use... All will offend ... somewhat lazy / selfish for commenters to request nutritional info. The YT person has taken time to create / perfect a recipe, share it w the fan base via video, and then people want more. There are plenty of nutritional / calorie / carb, etc. calculators online. On occasion when a YT recipe vid has the nutritional info it is a bonus.

    • @judysbakeryandtestkitchen1654
      @judysbakeryandtestkitchen1654 3 года назад

      I really don’t mind, because her recipes are absolutely delicious.
      And some of us gave nutritional information to help everyone else in our comments.

    I loved hearing the CRISP CRUNCH as you noshed on the crackers at the end! I learned a trick as I experimented with cracker making. Rather than letting them rest in the bowl, go ahead and spread it out on the baking sheet while they’re still moist. It’s much easier to spread the mixture. Then, while it’s still unbaked but firmed up, score the crackers to the desired size. You may still need to cut them through at the end, but maybe not! Definitely trying your recipe!

    I just found you yesterday, I must say you are very interesting... love the level of explanations you give. It shows that you care about your audience... it's not just a fast recipe, you make sure we understand fully... thank you for caring so much. My first recipe was the chip recipe, which I plan to try... I have one question ... how many carbs for this recipe... thank you

      Thank you for your kind message. The best way to check the carb count is look up the package of your ingredients. It's most reliable and very easy to work out.

    Btw I cut out the sunflower seeds as I’m allergic to them and doubled the amount of pumpkin seeds instead - worked perfectly nonetheless.

    After placing the second parchment over the top of your batter you can take another pan identical to the first and use that to press the batter into shape. I find that to be the easiest.
