Thank you for the lesson, it's amazing! Do you have any source of how to pick up learning clarinet? I have not been successful finding a clarinet teacher in Vietnam :(
Evan is playing Albert system clarinet, some pre-WW2 Selmer model. You can use German system as well, of course, but perhaps an instrument with a fewer keys and rings. German system clarinets have a larger bore, broader sound, so the jazz techniques bends, slides, trills, etc. will sound more detailed.
I try to improvise on songs but to me, it sounds like I'm just playing random notes that don't fit in with the melody so I just play the melody as is on my trumpet. Unfortunately, since I have a learning disability and a hard time concentrating, it makes playing an instrument twice as hard. I don't know any jazz musician who has learning disabilities, autism and ADHD. It sucks not having a normal mind where you can think and be creative freely like these cats in the video.

Hey I'm a beginner -ish trumpet player (7 months) , and i had that problem of worrying so much about sounding good that you enter panic and lose focus on the music. When i started to play with disregard for how bad I might sound, I was able to embrace my passion and feel the music emotionally, it worked great and I basically got so much better from just one practice session. Allow yourself to make mistakes and love what your doing :)

I want to learn clarinet just to take lessons from Evan C.

The problem is that most young jazz musicians think that jazz began with J.Coltrane.
