Most dealerships I worked at, both auto and motorcycle, had a “frenemy” relationship with their employees, especially the service techs. Once I left that world, I never looked back.
Whenever I take my car to the Dealer to have something done that I don't want to tackle myself, I always ask the Service Writer I want to talk to the Tech that will working on my car. They never let me. I ask why and they say for "Legal Reasons". I then say, I don't have to go to their work area I just want to talk to the tech. Service Writer says no. So I left. Why is that? Why do dealers NOT want the public talking to the Techs?
Because techs are subhuman monsters that shouldn't be allowed to see sunlight /s If you could talk directly to the tech, then why would you to talk to the service advisor, whose only goal is to upsell and translate what the tech says?
