I carried sig v-crown for a while. some of the rounds out of the box will have bullets not properly seated in the casing. Prevented the gun from going into battery.
Sig 147gr through my hellcat does fine. My first 9mm since I turned in my M9 in 2016 after a little over 9 years. Hated that pistol IMO. Much love keep up the goodness!
Train with AAC FMJ and but carry critical Duty, two full mags worth. I tested it and it works and has roughly the same POI as the AAC fmj at pistol distances (at least as far as I can shoot offhand)
124g +P+ loaded by Underwood , or 115g +p+ loaded by carbon if I'm carrying 9mm. If I'm carrying .45 AARP it's custom loaded 185g-230g +P+.(I've got some 230g stuff that's 1100fps ) . Another option is 10mm loaded by Underwood . I think that stuff was 180g at 1600fps, but I don't remember . I only carry 9mm when size and concealed is a larger priority.
Yesterday I went to the range. TLDR- had bad ammo, figured out what my gun doesn’t like. My Glock 19C does NOT like Sig VCrown 147g. First round was a failure to extract. I would’ve been killed in the streets.
G9 Defense external hollow point. A little more expensive but more barrier blind than Critical Duty (which is why that was developed), bigger wound channel, and better penetration. Also defeats level IIIa pretty easy from pistol. Still learning what it will do out of a 10.5” pcc.
I carry federal HST after watching grandthumbs 9mm carry ammo testing and until I see other similar testing I wouldn’t want to carry anything else besides spear gold dot
Hand guns are used to get to your rifle or if your rifle goes down to hold out until the cavalry shows up. Great video, good knowledge you are spot on. But is any handgun ammo any good if it doesn't start with 45 ACP? I mean sinks battle ships, knocks out Tiger Tanks, shoots down Zero's and smokes Frost Giants..For real, I do like the 147 grain and your ammo picks are legit...Thanks!
G9 Defense external hollow point (EHP). Seems more accurate at distance than most hollow points, greater wound channels, and testing shows more barrier blind than Critical Duty (which was born out of a need to be more barrier blind than Critical Defense, especially with glass).
Sorry, here "expansive bullets " are banned (Italy) Fiocchi make the line of lightweight fast fmjtc called Black Mamba. Not big improvment in relazionship to standard 9mm fmj, but.....that is.
Recently have come around to using Underwood Xtreme Defenders as i like their penetration and larger wound channel. Still have a lot of Hornady, Federal and Gold Dot. Hope its only ever for range testing.
The FNS9C was consistently having failure to extract with Fed HST 124, my assessment was that the exceedingly wide cavity was getting caught on the feed ramp, though I didn't do an in-depth analysis as the constant jamming was enough to make me just not use it. The HST is of course a renowned round, but for whatever reason the FNS9C just does not cooperate with it, so I switched to Speer GD 124 and haven't had a stoppage since. For further reference, there is a youtube channel called ShootingTheBull which has done alot of good round testing, specifically out of carry guns. The channel went quiet and the most recent uploads are from 5 years ago, but in his testing he found that Hornady Critical Duty was overpenetrating (out of a carry gun but granted the Critical Duty is intended for full size) and also that Critical Defense was sometimes not shedding the polymer tip and would function similarly to FMJ, thus overpenetrating and not expanding. As stated the rounds were all tested out of carry guns rather than full size, and the uploads are now all 5+ years old, but still an interesting resource with good data.
My FNS 9mm ate EVERYTHING but last range trip I had not cleaned it but once and it was gifted to my stepdad for ~ 4 -5 years until his death and I had a FTE. I was embarrased because I had just told buddy how reliable it was! I don't think POPS ever did a good cleaning and it was pretty dirty! I'm kinda looking for an FNSC or a Ruger SR9/40C on used market. I saw a Burnt Bronze FNSc ONCE and went back next Friday and it was GONE!
10mm sig :Liberty Defense Overwatch, 70 gr at 2100fps!; 9mm XD9. 5:32 Golden Sabre. Why did the US military approve the Winchester Active Duty 115gr rounds for use? (M1152)? Just bought some to try out. Flat nose rounds at 1300 fps.
I'm carrying "OLD SCHOOL" Federal 9mm +P+ BPLE 115 Grains @ 1400 fps, the old Illinois State Police load. Gun Sam_ Revolver Afficionado does LOT'S of research and Load tests and it's 94% One Stop Shot % tage was impressive. My 9mm guns have no ammo warnings against +p+ or +p and it's violent initial energy dump is devastating and low risk over Over penetration. Pretty sure my Beretta 92X Compact will be fine and it's recoil is not bad in my P365X ... Haven't shot it thru the FNS 9 yet ...
Did you see where some judeges are punishing folks who have had to use their weapon in self defense and they are saying they are guilty of murder because of the caliber and type of ammunition you use. Some guy used that Hornandy Zombie Killer and the judge ruled it was not self defense, he intended to kill somebody because of the name of ammunition he carried with. I am trying to find the name of the case I heard about it and thought there is no way a judge made that call but true story. After Fallujah I started carrying the 40 s&w because I lost complete trust in 9mm after being there, I know 9 mm is good and were using ball, I know, I know, just 40 made me feel alot better, after that place but hell some judges could say 40 s&w is another one of those i had intention of using it no matter what because of the caliber, based on some court cases. It is a crazy mixed up world we live in when I as Infantry Combat vet have to ask myself how much damage i am allowing to take before I use my weapon for self defense because i dont want to be sitting in prison for defending myself or my family and a judge be able to say in any way my use was unnecessary and so I loose my life behind bars.
Let me guess before I watch! Federal HST, Hornady Critical Defense, Speer Gold Dot, some fucking wild card because Trench has to go against the grain actual gun hipster Edit: f it critical duty for the wild card guess
I don't want to be shot at all. FMJ vs JHP, makes no difference. Shot placement and my ego damaging one liners will ensure me winning. Grunt the FK UP!
Praise you for saying “test your carry ammo”. 100%
I carried sig v-crown for a while. some of the rounds out of the box will have bullets not properly seated in the casing. Prevented the gun from going into battery.
This is the most accurate comment I’ve seen all week. Correct, sig v crown should not be trusted with your life
I use HST in my Glock 47 and Critical Defense in my Glock 26
For pistols I use 124gr HST or 124gr Gold Dot because they hit as close to my practice ammo in my carry pistols as I’ve tried at my 25yrd zero.
My top defense ammo is 124 grain federal HST +p, 124 grain AAC XTP, ammo unlimited 124 grain NUKES, and Grizzly 124 grain JHP.
Good choices
I carry Winchester 147 JHP because I’m poor.
Speer LE 165grain, HST 180 LE, Ranger Series as well!
Honorable Mention- Rem Golden Saber, Federal Hydro Shock, Critical Duty.
Sig 147gr through my hellcat does fine. My first 9mm since I turned in my M9 in 2016 after a little over 9 years. Hated that pistol IMO. Much love keep up the goodness!

Thanks for your service, just came back from a 7 hour range day in the heat, go alot of good reps in 🐉
I know this is an issue. You explained it very clearly. Thank you.
Tools and Targets and couple others like Gun Sam Revolver offers good ballistic results...

HST and Speer 124gr
125gr Fort Scott TUI for edc pistol. Underwood critical defense 147gr +P+ for my work gun
2 monitors now ? Ole Trench role-playing airforce over here. New setup looks good.
I use 124gr hst for my shorter barrels and the m1153 147gr based on the old black talon design in my 4” m&p 2.0
I’ve had issues with V crown is some handguns as well, but currently using HK P30 and P30sk and it’s flawless in those
TUI 124 grain 9mm, also Xtreme Penetrator. Both a bit expensive to want to run to many mags of it.

Not in the civilian context.

I hear what you're saying, but I'm still keeping my Makarov loaded with FMJ tucked away in my desk drawer.
winchester white box jhp all day baby
I carry standard 115 fmj. Why? The higher grain specialty rounds seems to have feed issues in ECD pocket guns ie 43, 43X.
Sorry, here "expansive bullets " are banned (Italy) Fiocchi make the line of lightweight fast fmjtc called Black Mamba. Not big improvment in relazionship to standard 9mm fmj, but.....that is.
Golden sabers and federal hydra shock. Always good choices 😜
Recently have come around to using Underwood Xtreme Defenders as i like their penetration and larger wound channel. Still have a lot of Hornady, Federal and Gold Dot. Hope its only ever for range testing.
I got some sig hollow points and after chambering the same cartridge 2x (in g19) the bullet was shoved back into the casing probably 2mm

I run Speer gold dot 124 grain hollow points. I used to run the 147 grain HST but for some reason my Glock 48 MOS doesn’t like running that ammo.
Oh boy here we go again
Critical Defense for me.
Going to guess.
Federal HST.
Speer Gold Dot.
Hornady Critical Duty.
Cor-Bon.
Lehigh Defense.
First let’s pray 🙏 to God in Jesus name Amen that we never have to use these rounds.
Amen!!
We are in the end times brother. We most surely will.
@@KennethJoines-th4jk stay frosty brother
Amen
@KennethJoines-th4jk I agree with everyone. Pray we don't use it, but by the looks we surely will.
Your new office is missing a shield with a horse head on it. I too am running critical defense out of a glock 43x mos.

Very good video I agree
I’m not always involved in defensive encounters but when I am I use RIP rounds so a soros DA can imprison me for decades
keksimus maximus lad
Glock 17 with critical duty on my appendix all day every day
Winchester Ranger T +P

Cool artwork
Running gold dots right now
Federal hst or G2 gold dot.
Extreme Defense from Underwood. Does everything any other self-defense bullet does only better. And some loads will defeat three alpha.
Agree, G9 Defense same concept and excellent results
New setup looks good bro
Hornady critical duty 124gr +p in 9mm
Remington 115g +p HTP
My carry is the Liberty Civil Defense 2050 fps 9mm hammer!!!!
HST 230 grain.
HST in litteraly any flavor. Best performing pistol cartridge on the market.
G9 Defense EHP
9mm is a great caliber by I will say from experience .357 magnum 125 gr SJHP dumps a crap load of energy 😊
I run pdx 1 plus p ... 124 grain. Any thoughts
FJB Sig M17
HST all day.

165g hst 40s&w
Norma 108gr on sale from psa for $6.99
I'd go watch a few reviews where the round gets tested well, from what I've seen/heard they don't always expand much, if at all.
