"Only you can prevent forest fires... in the Twilight Zone."
This is the Morgan Family coming home from the lake. Ed and Mary had been married for 12 years. That's Kelly, Sue, and Kasey in the back. They've driven this road many times before and never had an accident. But today is different. Today, Ed will become a killer. His Weapon-A cigarette. Good old Ed Morgan, such a careful man in his own home. He can't imagine how anyone could be so careless. The forest destroyed in the fire. Wildlife gone. It seems like Ed will get away from his crimes. But, he's about to receive a curse from Nature. A curse, from the Twilight Zone.
in the Twilight Zone, that dude would have been killed by fire by the hand of Smokey Bear.
i waited the whole ad for a Twilight Zone reference
“Imagine if you will, a world where only YOU can prevent forest fires!”
ROD SERLING SAYING ONLY YOU CAN PREVENT WILDFIRES HAS BEEN MY LIFELONG DREAM AND HERE THE FUCK IT IS
The driver is my grandfather (Fletcher Allen) and one of the kids is my dad Larry. 100% serious!
"Hey, who's that guy? I bet he took the trophy!"
Too bad Rod didn't heed his own advice and quit smoking before it quit him.
I don't mind Smoky The Bear, but Rod Serling was made for that ending phase. "Only YOU can prevent forest fires". R.I.P Rod Serling.
Love Rod Serling even more after seeing this.
R.I.P. Rod Serling.
Rod Serling was a very conscientious person on everything from opposing war to preventing forest fires.
I remember watching this back in '68 at six years old.
"Only you can prevent forest fires....only you."
Saved to my large Arizona playlist. Thank you.
Little did you know they started the forest fires that they used for these ads. Lol

This is actually older than 1968. The Ad Council logo that pops up in the end was discontinued in 1962.
