ROLE ME AWAY IS A GREAT SONG
It's "See-Gur" so you nailed it.
Can you do a reaction to Tommy James and the shingles crimson and clover
Shondells
Metallica remade this song which is also good, but the original is the classic. You should just listen to all the rock music from the 60s & 70s. The best music era ever. I live a lot from 80s & 90s also, but 60s & 70s is just classic & most storytelling
This will be one of the all time best road songs until the sun stops burning. Untouchable songwriting
Oh.... this is *DEFINITELY* going in the *"4 Runner Playlist!!!"* 😏 POLO, do you think that your co-pilot, "little man" would approve?? I think he would 🤔🙂
Actually, "Roll Me Away" is, at least for Bob Seger's songs. Have you not heard it? Definitely check it out. It's on my 2 main riding playlists.
@madmanonwheels5150 Roll Me Away is #1 on my playlist of ALL songs. 🏍 Parts of Turn The Page have a tad less punch in today's society. Same as Aerosmith's Dude Looks Like A Lady. Times change. Bob has many songs that will stand the test of time better. All his songs will be top notch to me till I leave this world. In my humble opinion. ☕️☕️🎶🎵🎶
Agreed
It is spectacular!
Again, I’m SO HAPPY I was a teenager in the 70’s! Our music is eternal & we just took it for granted back then. 😂
the 7ds were the bomb
Amen ❤
Me, too
Me tooooo
I feel that I grew up in the 60s and 70s. It was the best time to grow up.
Bob's a great singer musician "Night moves" "Beautiful loser" "Against the wind" "We've got tonight" "Mainstreet" "Firelake" "You'll accompany me" "Hollywood nights" "Still the same" "Old time rock and roll" "Roll me away" "Like a rock" "The fire inside" "Mystery to me" His newer albums are just as good "Face the promise" "Ride out"
You left out his best rocker "Her Strut"
Also "The Fire Down Below"! So many great Seger songs, it's hard to keep track of them all.
Thank you for listing The Fire Inside- so underrated.
When I saw him he had his saxophone player hooked up to wires and flying around the stage the whole concert. lol. It was a damn good show. He’s really good at what he does
All great road trip songs!
You've gotta remember that this song came out over 50 years ago! Still sounds great today! It is THAT timeless!!
You need to listen to Bob Seger’s “Night Moves” next.
I want to see him react to we've got tonight. Night moves is a great song as well.
@@jasonartemis1637
Night Moves tells a story that has made grown men get emotional. We’ve Got Tonight is equally as good but Polo should listen to Night Moves first.
Seger has a HOST of amazing music, 9 tonight, so many road songs.
I met Mr. Seger a few times. It’s not a brag, he wouldn’t remember. I was just a bartender in a huge nightclub. I volunteered to do the long shifts for concert nights. Sometimes, the shift started at 2 in the afternoon, and ran until 5 in the morning. A few of us around for the roadies, getting the shows together. A happy bunch, that worked so hard. Mr Seger was so polite. He kept up with his people, made sure they had what they needed, soft spoken and generous. At the end of his shows, when it was time to tear it all down, and pack it away, he didn’t leave until he was sure his guys and girls had what they needed, and sweaty and exhausted, stayed until the end.
Bob Seger is the best. My favorite artist of all time. Please dive deeper into his music. You won't regret it.
100% agree. I've been listening since the 70s and grew up on Bob's music and there are very few tracks that i don't care for. He is the best of the best.
I love Bob Seger. As a Michigan native, it gives me a sense of pride that he's from Detroit. He's one of those artists that can't be duplicated.
I named my 1st car The Silver Bullet!
Metro Detroit here, Love Bob Seger!!!
Flintoid gal here! Seen Bob countless times!
I'm from the burbs of Detroit also. First heard Seger around 1968. Not really sure of the year but I remember 2+2 and Rambling Gambling Man. Wore out those 45's. Wish I still had them.
I grew up in Minneapolis in the 1980s going to First Avenue. I think the same thing about Prince.
He was big back in the 70s and 80s, backed off his career to raise kids. Gotta respect a guy like that!
He had very many good tunes. “Old time rock and roll” will probably be one you know. His music was unique, and you hit it simple, but beautiful!
Bob never grows old.
buuuut this was the 7ds
But TURN THE PAGE Was from the 70s
Never forgot where he is from... Still lives in MI..
Bob Seger was friends with Glen Frey and Don Henley back in the 60's & 70's. He convinced them to write their own songs, rather than performing covers of other artists. A band known as the Eagles was the result.
The cool thing about this song, and why it's so relatable, is Bob tosses away the rock star thing and makes you understand he's just grinding it out, day after day, like you and me and every working man ever. And we totally believe him because he totally means it.
As Kid Rock said as Seeger was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, "Bob Seger has paid more dues than the entire Top 40 of today."
Seger saved rock and roll from disco. I'll always love him for that.
I don't think Bob Seger has a bad song. He's just that good.
Agreed....some are just better than others.
Bob Seger is a legend here in michigan
Uncle Bob helped raise us in the 70's.
The exhaustion in this song is palpable. It hits so hard and really makes you sympathize with the band. Touring is no easy task, it’s a grueling, grinding endeavor that wears you down and drains everything out of you.
Im 67 years old & I can relate to this song. I was a drummer in s band for 25+ years. Went through hard times with drugs and alcohol. I turned the page and made me a new life with positive prospects 6:30 and a new look at life.. God brought me through it all.
@ryden7114 Amen brother, God is great.
Almost 62 here. Did sound for a circuit band for 5 years in the early 80s and then just weekends until 2020. I definitely know where you're coming from brother.
Good on you. Its a tough row to hoe but worth it!
@@lightatthecape2009 I lived through it and I have stories 🤣🤣🤣
@@jeffjones6221 I believe you have some wild tales. I don't know if I am old enough to hear them LOL!!
Bob Seger. One of the top ten song writers and singers in the last 50 years. Hands down.
I grew up in Detroit Michigan where Bob Seger is from. When I was in 6th grade I started working at the country club that Bob seger golfs in. I caddied for him one time. It was an awesome experience.
I'm a 70 year old Detroiter, Adam, and I am SO happy for you, lol!
I’m a 67 year old Detroiter. (Lions roar, btw). And like you both, this guy is near and dear to my heart. Always there for us and we’re always there for him. He always showed up for Eagles concerts over the years here too.
Orchard Lake Country Club? I used to run into him back in the day at Saturday Night Jukebox on Woodward Avenue from time to time. Really a normal guy. 2+2=? is a favorite song from him.
@@donaldgraham3417 that would be it
Metro Detroiter, Glad to hear that Bob is as nice as he seems. Never forgot where he's from...
Love him and his music even more.
A person would have to be dead inside to not appreciate this classic.
I’ve never met anyone that ever said that they disliked Bob Seger music.
Bob Seger is a legendary musician! He has one of those voices you hear once in a lifetime where the second you hear it you know its him!
Bob Seger put on an amazing show! He's one of my top 5 favs ever. This and Against The Wind are phenomenal.
*"Against the Wind"* is my favorite from Bob!! Just an *AWESOME* song!!! 😎
When I was a kid, my parents only had the live album. I thought he only played live and didn't do studio albums. Kid reasoning.
@@seanpatton7406 Bob wasn't sure about the line “wish I didn't know now what I didn't know then”. Glenn Frey said to keep it, I'm jealous, perfect line. Honestly, who can't relate to that brilliant line? It's brilliant!
@@VinzClorthokeymasterofGozer You're so lucky! Lol. My parents listened to big bands. Not the same for this rocker.
I saw Bob Seger in Montreal in 80. One of the best shows ever! After that tour he released his 9 Tonight double live album, which was like reliving that concert over and over again. Amazing artist!
He always tells a story. This life in the road and all he feels night after night. Bob's music is filled with story of his life. Being from Detroit he is one of our best and i was lucky enough to go to his concert twice.
Metro Detroiter, love Bob Seger...
I immediately like Bob Seger when I heard that he didn't make any more money than his band, even though he was the frontman.
I did not know that. Another reason to love
Bob Seger, besides his many, many great songs!
Regrettably I never listened to the Silver Bullet Band until I heard that about Mr. Seger it's a shame that I missed seeing them live when I had the chance, oh well, hindsight is 20=20@@donna9817
He made mucho Dinero on song writing royalties
@@markbender3399 good for him. He never forgot where is from and still lives in Metro D.
He was the chief songwriter. Cha ching.😊
43 years old and the sax still gets me! It ain't Turn the Page without the sax!
Ouch… that sax haunts. His voice is silk and gravel. ❤️🩹
"Silk and gravel" Oh yeah.
Deceptive too. He sings so naturally you don't realize how difficult the songs really are . . . until you try and fail hilariously.
Once you start with Bob you will never go back, has been killing it for 50 years, you will recognize alot of the music once you dive, commercials, movies, just good music
Bob was born in Detroit. I grew up in Lansing. I was only 14 when my older sister took me to my first outdoor festival. It was 1977 and Michigan Jam was an amazing success. Others there were Heart, Nazareth, Little River Band and hosted by Wolfman Jack. Traffic was backed up 10 miles in each direction and all the bands had to be brought in by helicopter. Bobs hair flowed as he leaned and waved out of the helicopter as it flew over the crowd. A memory I'll treasure forever.
Wow, what a treasure
I was there, too!! A highlight of my life!
@kjsfl386 How Cool!!! I meet so few who remember that day and I've only been able to find 1 very poor video online about it, but times were different and we weren't all walking around with cameras back then lol. So glad to know that you too shared in that very special (and very hot) day 🎵😎🌞🎶
@@jillykz Yes I’ve seen that video. The day is a terrific memory! I saw him another three times. He is my favorite.
I love this but I also recommend Metallicas version. It's just as good but with a more raw edge.
So glad you are catching the tunes us boomers grew up with, and enjoying the incredible talents, we were treated to. Cheering you on!
His catalog is deep and high quality.
In oct of 78 I was 21 and on a solo trip from Mississippi to Maine on an old Harley. This song stuck in my head for 500 miles. Every time I hear this song I think of that trip.
The sax adds a haunting element to this song that I love. Hearing this song live back in the day gave me the chills … and it still does in 2024.
Night Moves is another great number from Seger. He’s an incredible songwriter.
So good, he opened for BTO in Saint John NB Canada in 1976, friends to this day do not believe I saw him and the Silver Bullet Band live; what a show.
tell your friends I also saw the same show in Minnesota
This is classic Bob Seger...raw and authentic. His writing is superb...never a wasted word, and he paints such a mental picture.
Incredible how many great songs Bob Seger has…he wrote the soundtrack for many peoples lives
Bob Seger has been one of my favorites all my life (turning 59 in a few months)
Please don't let this be the only Bob Seger song you listen to.
He has a lot of great songs
Bob Seger is a great rock singer, songwriter & musician known for his raspy powerful voice. He wrote & recorded songs that dealt with love, women & blue-collar themes. "Turn The Page" is my favorite song by him. Love the sax solo. He has so many great songs especially in the 70's-80's such as "Old Time Rock & Roll", "Night Moves", "Against The Wind", "Ramblin' Gamblin' Man", "Mainstreet", "Still The Same", "Hollywood Nights", "You'll Accomp'ny Me", "Roll Me Away", "Shakedown", "We've Got Tonight" etc.
E
ya but this was the 7ds
Most of his biggest songs are from the 70s though.
His voice touches your soul with every word
.
Bob is one of the ten most influential and essential artist of the last 50 years in rock in my opinion. His catalog is huge and hugely beloved by multitudes of people. I can't recommend just one song as there are at least five to ten that you should hear right now, I mean today. Some of my favorites in no particular order are Main Street, Roll Me Away, Fire Down Below, Hollywood Nights, Night Moves, Katmandu, and more. Fabulous songwriter and performer. One of the best voices in rock and roll also.
Quantity doesn't make all quality..
I can’t think of anything he ever sung that wasn’t excellent!
Imagine a time when Bob Seger's music emerged onto the music scene. This man was a genius, a gift from the Rock Gods, an American treasure. The days of artists being discovered and then permitted to evolve and develop may be over. I am thankful I lived in a time when this was still possible.
Love me some Seger! "Against the Wind", "Mainstreet", "Roll Me Away", "Shame on the Moon", are a few of his songs, but he has a catalog full of great music! ♥
Roll me away...love it
Bob Seger is an American poet - his songs paint a picture that you hear, see and feel. Like a rock, night moves, Kathmandu, those are the memories / wealthy soul, you put it on - turn it up - close your eyes and you see yourself as each song plays.....
I just love Bob Seger he is one of the greats.❤❤❤❤❤❤
Raised and live in the Detroit area. Bob used to play high school dances and seemed like one of the guys, which he genuinely is. One of the nicest people you would ever meet and an incredibly talented song writer and performer. He is deeply loved in this area.
Metro Detroiter.. You can't help but love him and his music. Bob never forgot where he is from....
Michigan proud!
Also raised in metro Detroit. My first concert was to see Bob and the Silver Bullet Band. Great memories!
I used to have Bob Seger’s Greatest Hits CD so every time I hear this song, toward the end of it I begin hearing You’ll Accompany Me because that one played next.
Yes! I still play that CD in my car all the time!
Bob Seger is the G.O.A.T
I Love this song. I was going through a divorce and can relate. I am 67 and I was 30 going thru hard times, 2 children and not knowing where I was going. Driving home from work with tears in my eyes listening to this song and worrying about our life. My father told me your going to fall many times in your life time and all you can do is pick yourself up and start all over again and boy have I. God Bless🇺🇸🙏🕊️❤️
He is one of the greatest. His voice is one of a kind.
Bob Seger is peerless. A mood. In the 70s & 80s he was THE MAN. To this day still in my top 5 artists of all time.
Fire Lake, Against the Wind, Night Moves, Mainstreet, Turn the Page…just too many to mention! Love love love Bob Seger ❤
ya butb the was how good the 7tz were
Steve Miller band was up there too. sever is the best...timeless
typo.. seger
BUT this was the sweet 7dz
Born in 73 and my mom played his albums from before I can remember. I think I know almost all his songs without realizing how much I know. Thanks mom.
Your mom had a very good taste in 70s music
Against The Wind. its burnt into me for every Sunday at noon. like church bells. the 2.5 years i was stationed in Germany there was a soldier in the barracks who had lost his wife after getting all of her paper work in order to come to country. after her passing, every Sunday at noon he would open his barracks room door. he would crack a beer and crank 'Against the Wind' and it would echo throughout the halls... random memory to correlate with the song lol, but a great song for sure.
One of the greatest song writers of all time. Also, that voice is butter!
" Roll Me Away" is really a song you should experience.
It's one of my favorite songs. I have it on my 2 main riding playlists.
My SECOND favorite song of his (this one is #1 ALWAYS!)
Bob Seger is the truth.
This and, "Night Moves," are just stellar.
Bob Seger IS Detroit rock royalty.
I love everything Bob Seger put out. He just can't do a bad song. 🔥🔥🔥❤
Road trip music !!! Never left home without him and Silver Bullet Band !!!
Seger is a treat!
I saw Bob Seger in 1979 in El Paso, TX. My boyfriend surprised me with tickets he knew how much I love Bob Seger. Turn the page of of my favorite Seger songs.
Good song imo. He has voice, a perfect voice for what he sings. I liked all his music. It’s just easy
Bob Seger has an excellent voice! He can sing songs that are not easy for many others. Love his voice, it’s soothing! Helps to feel him as he sings!
Bob Segar is a Michigan boy who Still lives here. 'grew up watching him in all the local places.
The lights went down. We all were all pumped up from the opening band. The spot light pointed up to the top of the amplifier stack. There stood Alto Reed with his saxophone. He started "Turn the Page". Then Bob started singing. This was in the '70s in Corpus Christi, Texas. The most amazing show i've ever seen.
Bob is always a great choice 💕👍💃🎶
FIRST HEARD BOB SEGER WHEN IN THE MIL DOWN SOUTH, '67, THOT HE WAS A GOOD OL BOY .. SILVER BULLET BAND BROUGHT OUT ALL HIS WRITING PLAYING, SINGING TALENTS, MET HIM IN A RESTAURANT IN GOODRICH MI 20 YRS AGO ... A TRUE HONOR!
I've always loved this song. One of the best live songs ever as far as I am concerned. One time my radio station had listeners vote for their 500 favorite rock songs. They did a countdown and played them over a three day holiday weekend. This song was number one. My recommendation for your next listen is "Against The Wind". Glenn Frey of the Eagles sings background vocals with Bob.
One of the best song writers to ever exist. Almost quit my job to watch his final concert in Detroit but I was too late.
Night Moves and Against the Wind. Forgot Mainstreet which is probably the most beautiful. Too many great songs to listen to. He is definitely one of a kind. If you like saxophone in a song, you might like Gerry Rafferty -Baker Street.
He has a beautiful and distinctive voice. I’ve been a huge fan for decades.
Thank you so much for jamming Bob Seger Turn the page🎉 is a great song❤ Metallica also did this song you might want to check that out Bob seger gave them permission and they did the song proud 💯 other songs Bob seger has written night moves is a great song main Street also he has so many they're all great thank you again love your show😊
I'm not a Metallica fan. At all. But they took this song, gave it a very Metallica feel, and created what I consider to be one of the best cover songs out there. I'd love to see a follow-up reaction to that version, but would ask two things. First, skip the "I like this version better" crap. Second, skip the official music video and find one with just the song. One is sad, the other angry. They are both very well done, and trying to compare them and pick one over the other says more about you than it says about either version of the song.
Grew up listening 2 Bob Seger! Sexy voice with rasp & power! Could understand words!! ONE of the greats! Thanks 4 reaction.
One of his greatest...the sax is fabulous...saw them in Memphis back then...sax guy was swung out over the crowd in a harness...such a great show!!!
Bob Seger is a rabbit hole of great music.
"The Famous Final Scene" my favorite from Bob. What a legend.
“Night Moves”, “Main Street”, “Come to Poppa” and She’ll Accompany Me” are such wonderful songs with his raspy, manly voice and great band, you will love them all!🤓
The stogie with this track is a whole ass vibe. Puts me in mind of a summer evening on the deck with a glass of bourbon, looking up at the stars and contemplating life. So so so good.
Bob Seger is a Rabbit Hole you will really enjoy. he is a Rock God and never did a bad song. Old Time Rock& Roll, Hollywood Nights, Like a Rock, Against The Wind, Shakedown, American Storm, Night Moves, Come to Papa, SO MANY
I had the extreme pleasure of seeing this live with front row tickets. Experience of a lifetime
I saw him in 78 with The Eagle's. The sax player was on top of the stage playing. Talk about chills. Hotel California had just been released and with Bob Seger, the whole place exploded and was electric
If you are looking for another Bob Seger song to listen to in your truck, check out "Roll Me Away." But his catalogue is wide and deep, and you can hardly go wrong with any of if.
Definitely
Timeless music!!! Love the Silver Bullet Band cd. He's the best and always will be. Saw him in concert a few years ago and his voice has never changed. ❤❤
The sax.....rips right into your soul, followed by Segars voice...iconic....one of my favorites growing up.
Every time I hear Bob Seger , it reminds me of all the road trips i had growing up, ive gone to many states listening to Bob .. thank you for sharing, it brought back many great memories ❤
Excellent song, excellent reaction. I also love Traveling Man/Beautiful Loser also from Live Bullet.
Turn the Page is so universal about being on the road that even Metalica did a very good heartfelt cover!
I loved Bob Seger since I was a kid. I listed it when I drive.
You've more than likely heard one of Bob's songs as they've been featured in movies, tv shows, & commercials. Some of the more recognizable ones are as follows: "Old time rock n' roll" was used in a early Tom Cruise film called Risky Business (iconic scene with Tom lip syncing & dancing to the song). The song "Shakedown" was used in Eddie Murphy's film Beverley Hills Cop 2. And back in the 90's, Chevrolet auto maker started using "Like a rock" in their truck ads & it has become their slogan ever since.
Turn the Page, Still the same, We've got tonight, Old time rock n' roll, & Against the wind are my top 5 favorite, but there are plenty of others that I like as well. I think you will enjoy exploring Bob's library of great music...
Bob Seger has many great songs....this one...Night moves.....Like a rock.......good rabbit hole to disappear into 👍
My son and i would sing this song together. So glad i exposed my children to our music.
We exposed our kids to all the music we grew up with(the best). They pretty much know all ot it. Just as my parents exposed me to all the 50s and some 40s music.
Love Bob Seger.. You said his name correct the 2nd time. Bob Seger
First song i heard from Bob Seger was Rambling Gambling man. 60s ,late, I believe. He just got better through the years. True legend. Huge rabbit hole for you. Melissa Ward here.
Bob Seger is one of my favorite artists - his voice!!! This song is an excellent introduction - yet my favorite song by him is "Roll Me Away"
Saw Seger at an outdoor concert in the early 80's. A great performer with a Deep, Deep library of music.
Love Bob Seiger. And this is my favorite of his.
Great song. As an older woman, I love it. I feel it. It can lend you pause and let you meld with it.
I swoon from the very first note! It makes me want to weep and do wild things 😉 all at the same time❤️🔥. I saw him in concert twice and it was incredible. He has a black woman in the background playing congas or some sort of drums and she put on an amazing show right by herself!!! Great concerts🤎
Bob Seger is a gem! Awesome artist and storyteller! Been listening to him since the 70s! His music never gets old. And yes…the sax is hypnotic! Loved your reaction and all you had to say. Awesome song great review. Thanks for doing this one! 🎶🎶
