I too have experienced a massive panic attack while smoking weed. The worst moment of my life.

i'm schizophrenic and before i had my first episode I use to love weed. Now I hate it , it is terrifying makes my symptoms way worse right away. Weed is the worst drug to me, there is no drug out there that makes my symptoms as bad as weed. After schizophrenia weed is a completely different drug to me. Before it was happy and hungry and lazy. Now it is pure paranoia psychotic hell. I haven't smoked weed in years and don't think I ever will again.

I think that a strain of cannabis that is rich in CBD and poor in THC will do good.
THC is known for the head high that worsens psychosis
and CBD is the relaxing one that actually has been proven to be a antipsychotic cannabinoid
Strong Indicas are what you should look for if you really insist to smoke with your schizophrenia

    • @ITIsFunnyDamnIT
      @ITIsFunnyDamnIT 9 лет назад +3

Face Less That is true. I forgot to mention the strong Sativa strain which is high in THC is more likely to cause a bad panic attack, where as Indica strain weed with more CBD and a little less THC is the kind that relaxes you. There really IS a difference between the two strains. Most people like that really super potent Sativa strain, but if they are prone to panic attacks they will be lucky if they can even smoke a mild Indica strain with more CBD. However since this guy has schizophrenia it's not a good idea for him to use marijuana. I have been smoking weed since the age of 14, and I'm now 44. I don't have schizophrenia, and am very glad not to have it. I wish no one had to live with that. I do however get panic attacks, and have had those most of my life, with or without marijuana. Sometimes I still get panic attacks from weed, so I don't really use it that much anymore. Just once in a blue moon and I'm okay with that sometimes, if I don't go overboard with it. But if the weed is laced? It wont matter how little you smoke because it's laced.

CBD isn't psychoactive, its got all the medical effects. You could take a lot of CBD and will not feel it.

I'm currently withdrawing from an antipsychotic I was put on for sleep problems (fucking ridiculous) and bought CBD oil - took some drops of it under my tongue earlier today, and will take more tonight for sleep. Hope it helps. Withdrawal from olanzapine is not nice at all, and I was only on it for 3.5 weeks.

impossible to say. but we can inject THC and get the paranoiac reaction, so at least that part is true. of course, morons have been breading THC for generations of plants. that and the other 60k unmapped compounds. weed shouldnt be illegal. but it is far from a miracle. and the impairment of motivation and on relationships is a high price for a daily user. you know, or not. whatever works. Im going to bed.

Wow, I can relate to the marijuana incident big time!
I used to be an everyday smoker, and inhale more weed it seemed like than I did even oxygen.... But as I grew older, began dabbling in harder stuff I started falling into this paranoid human being that would create scenarios once I got high.... They would generally involve people killing me, and I would get so deep inside of my head that it was like cracking this code of how, why, when, that they had manipulated me into being their friend, and catching me off guard... Guilt would consume me, and it got to be too much, so I quit smoking.... It was not even worth it any more. Since then, I'd quit using psychedelics as well. But I enjoyed your sharing, and though that you may enjoy mine.

holy shit dude the same thing used to happen to me. like for example i had these 2 friends, they were pretty good friends ive known one since like 8th grade (i was like 18 at the time so it was only a few years ago) and his friend that i became pretty close with. but still my friend that ive known longer has been known to do some dick type shit so even though i knew him longer i felt more comfortable with the other guy. anyway we would sometimes go to this kids house he knew, i also knew him from high school but never talked to him, once we all got high i just had these bad in detail thoughts like what if they just overpower me and drag me in the corner to decapitate me and i would imagine the whole scenario in first person, it was disturbing. had plenty of other thoughts like that but weed doesnt affect me that way anymore, now i just get anxiety

I'm not one to say whether or not you were smoking weed, or synthetic marijuana. You probably know your shit better than me anyways.
But, I am one say that I was laced with synthetic marijuana and had "stroke like symptoms", hallucinations, racing/burning heart- pretty much everything you had described along with constant seizures for 2 weeks straight and was in a coma for 3 days.
To this day, I have seizures and the left side of my body is very sensitive and goes numb if I am being too active.
conclusion of this comment- be careful what you smoke, schizophrenic or not.

    • @ITIsFunnyDamnIT
      @ITIsFunnyDamnIT 9 лет назад

Krystal Carruthers Whats really bad is there are currently videos up on youtube showing people just how extremely easy it is to get your hands on synthetic marijuana chemicals and lace shitty weed with it and than charge their customers more without them knowing the weed they got was just laced with synthetic marijuana and not because it's good quality.
Sometimes even weed that looks and smells like it should be really good, looks like it came from a dispensary, but sometimes for whatever reason. Weather it wasn't dried properly, or whatever the case may be. The weed looks, and smells good but lacks having that much THC in it, and in cases like that there are shady people out there who will lace weed like that with synthetic marijuana chemicals.
I wish youtube would pull the videos showing people how to do that down. I have reported them, but to no avail. It is way too easy for kids to get their hands on synthetic marijuana chemicals and they have videos on here showing people just how easy it is and how to lace weed with it to unsuspecting customers.
This is just one of many reasons why I am for marijuana legalization. People should at least be able to get safe access to marijuana that has not been laced with anything. That happened to me once. Horrible experience, and a wake up call that it can happen, despite what most propel say that nobody laces weed, is not true anymore.

I’m schizophrenic and shrooms made my life better I can get in touch with love in a very intense way now towards everything and everyone, I tripped about 6 years ago. One of the best decisions I made. So it can go both ways but it probably wouldn’t be a safe decision for most. So be safe and know yourself first definitely.

I'm enjoying your vids, hope there are more recent ones! I'm thinking of doing it myself, get a web cam and.....maybe.....
I've abused drugs in the past. I was in my adolesence the same time that Rave was rising up and I became involved in the Rave scene. I went to about five or six major raves, got high on amphetamine, extacy and LSD, sometimes all at the same time. I used to smoke marijuana every day, can't touch the stuff anymore, it gives me major paranoia!
My schizophrenia started when I was about 18, audio hallucinations and paranoia were my symptoms, I never suffered from visual hallucinations. I also read somewhere that they used to use LSD as a treatment on Schizophrenics, I also read that the CIA used to use it as a truth serum on spies.
I've tried Risperidone/Risperdal. Didn't like it. Major side effects! They kept me on it for three months and it was torture!

Yep, weed caused a massive panic attack with me (similar to what you explained) and from that I had my first psychosis. After hospital, they put me on respiridal (terrible for me too) now I'm on Lurasidone which so far so good. The only scary thing now is I'm worried as to what is "waiting for me" on the other side of antipsychotics. Like I dont have a diagnosis but both of my birth parents have schizophrenia and my half brother has bipolar. Going off tangent here but I just want a diagnosis already so I can breathe. Also, as much as I realllllyyy want to to help deal, I'm never touching weed again. The first Pschosis was a terrifying experience enough. I just wish I'd known the connection between it and people who are suseptabal to these illnesses.
Anyway, thanks for sharing your story, it's been helpful for me in this pre-diagnois period.

My friend had a panic attack just like you described! He was with me and i had smoked for couple of years and i was a little scared when he also screamed that he wanted to go to the hospital, but i managed to calm him down. I myself have never had a panic attack from weed, only sometimes nausea and "cold" sweaty feeling when i smoked too much.

I've done many a drugs. Started off with good old mary jane, escalated to nicotine, alcohol, and opiates and more recently, benzos and other types of opioids such as kratom. Getting off kratom was hellish, moreso than getting off regular opiates. And I stopped smoking weed for the same reason, panic attacks and such. I've tried multiple times to smoke small amounts and maintain myself but having OCD, the intrusive thoughts manifest so much more clearly to the point that I know FOR A FACT that I have whatever illness and I am going to die. The reason pot makes anxiety worse for some people is because THC basically amplifies the clarity and depth of your thoughts and ideas, and makes them seem more tangible and profound, and ultimately, real. If you really wanna smoke weed, I suggest taking a small dose of a benzo, wait for it to kick in, smoke, then take another if you need. It'll kill the pseudo-psychedelic aspects of the high and potentiate the sedative and anxiolytic effects. Even still, for me, I don't like smoking to be a hassle, and having to combine it with other drugs to get rid of certain effects, I'll just not smoke. I do miss it a lot, I miss the feeling, the culture, all that stuff, but sobriety isn't a bad thing. Going through life with a somewhat clear head is a good thing. Plus it helps in getting jobs because damn near every shit-level job requires a clean stream of piss nowadays.

I can handle it if I take tiny hits here and there, but any time I've fully smoked I lose touch-- I need to be alone, because I either have a panic attack or do other shit that's probably weird to people (use the bathroom a lot, touch my throat or cough or say things weird) one time someone talked to me in a car for what seemed like 3 hours and I didn't say a word just stared at them, because swear to gosh he looked like a cartoon I wasn't comprehending what he said at all. I had a panic attack in his bathroom, and then had a trance like deep sleep and never spoke to him again it was so embarrassing. coke, I'm good and fine. weed,it alters my mind too much.

That's pretty wild lmao I see things like that where I'm sort of in another world or scene with my eyes open, like I'm in two places at once, and its like a movie where we might be climbing a mountain or dancing, flying through stars, on another world. Kind of get taken out of reality for a few minutes and then come back but feels like it just happened.

day I am still hearing those voices, and I feel like I'm on some kind of grid, my strongest belief is that I am telepathically broadcasting or I am unconsciously sending out energy out to the world and the universe, and I still see the same patterns and stuff like I saw on dmt. I enjoy taking dxm as it disassociates me from the reality that I am under some kind of mind control, and constantly tortured by voices condemning me and my community/neighbors gangstalking me. This shit aint no joke..

Physical issues of the human mind are seen through our perspective. As such, with a capable mind and grip, many drugs can be a tool. I believe those who are thrown into madness through drugs were either abusing or ignoring their mindsets and capabilities. Personally, I have used many drugs which distorted reality until it was indistinguishable, until I was so disassociated that I didn't believe I existed or had a concept of self to even understand existence. All of these experiences have been positive in my life, despite the fear and difficulty of some.(However I can say I am grateful that they did end!) It's all in how you use it and how you know yourself. Drugs are a tool and a misused tool can destroy, but a properly used one can create. Our society as many have said on your channel is what has distorted the reality and made Schizophrenia evil. It is looked down on because of sheep who do not consider for themselves out of fear. It could very well be a tool to use to grow as any trial can be if it is used and acknowledged.

Last week I had the same problem (after I smoked weed) with my heart, I told my friends that I was dying. They told me to chill. And I did..... So last saturday I smoked weed again and I got those weird feeling that my friends (the same friends as earlier) were laughing at me and I got strange feelings and everything.... And I don't know what to do because I'm just to scared to go to the doctor. So, what do you guys think? Except for the fact that I should stop smoking weed........

Yea I know.. sometimes the movies can be violent or voices saying things that I could never act out on and really disgust me where I just have to forgive and try to come back to the feeling of unconditional love, I feel like I have actually prayed for and healed a lot of spirits who have come to me in pain, and I helped them cross over. That has basically been my biggest accomplishment out of all of this.

risperdal, I had that prescribed to me when I was like 17 maybe maybe 16 but I took one 1 time since I couldn't really calm down one even. I was under the impression that it helps with anxiety. That shit made it even WORSE I could breath that well and I could stay still I felt sooo stuck like I needed to kill myself in order to make it stop. It eventually passed. I tired it again just to see if it was a bad timing that one day (this is an other day). NOPE! it turns out I was allergic to it. That would explain my throat closing on me. I understand where you could be frustrated with being diagnosed incorrectly/late. I got diagnosed at first with bipolar disorder then later I has told that I had depression that is prone to have anxiety attacks. I support and thank you for sharing because I haven't really heard of teens being given risperdal.

You can't help nobody unless you help yourself. Before you can bring anyone else out, you must bring yourself out. You must be strong with in yourself and stable if not. Whoever you are helping energies will seek back into you. You have to break free of the shackles before you can help others break free, or else it would just be the blind leading the blind. I have achieved the balance part without ever taken one single pill or making one doctor's appointment and no one who knows me in person knows what I go through on the inside because I never told anyone. I have one shackle off now I'm working on getting the other one off. The first one took a little over 10 years to get off. And I realized during one of my suicide attempts that I didn't want to die and I didn't want to talk to anyone so I had to find the mental strength within all the craziness that was going on to resolve it or I was going to die. It took years but I accomplished mental balance. Now I'm just stabilizing it. I'm almost there now I can take negativity from other people without letting it get to me I can just smile through it. And me looking at your videos you are on the same trailer that I was on that ultimately got me here. Even with your religious views I don't believe in religion either. I just believe in one source of Creator of all things. I can't even read the Bible anymore. When I believed in Jesus I always felt that the Bible was trying to imprison me because I had a higher mindset outside of the craziest in the Bible always telling you what you can and can't do without going to hell and that brought depression and anxiety to me and everytime I pick up a Bible and try to read it I think of that. But you will make it through this just hold on it got crazy for me before I made it through you strong enough I can tell. But I had to quit my job and go partially into isolation ( not fully ) but that was the best decision I ever made in my life. You got to understand that the voices are not going anywhere until you mentally deal with them. It best to hop Straight Into the Fire than to avoid it and let it draw you in like a magnet. It almost draw me in but before it did that I took a leap of faith and hopped in it. And within 4 months it changed me for the better. Going through the dark moments will be tough I was ready to give up, but I said hell no and I kept going. During that time you must listen to your inner Guidance the positive voice is the guidance. It takes a dramatic life change to get out. I came into the fire a totally different person than I am now. The positive voice is the stronger force behind the scene that knows best for you. And if you don't listen to it you won't make it out. Everything that it tells you to do is necessary for your mental health. And all your regrets and hurtful moments of the past you must deal with that too. And that person that you ultimately become is going to change the world. That positive soul that you wear before you came into the body will be living through you, and you're soul reasoning for coming to this earth was for a purpose. That positive voice is your soul leading you to the light. But it's by free will though your soul can't force you to do nothing that you constantly resist. And as far as the dark voices, you must learn to let them flow freely through your head without giving them emotional attention. Once you get to the point where they don't affect you at all they will slowly disappear. The beginning of this self treatment is hard, but as you comply to your higher self ( the positive voice ) it gets easier. Note: once you hop into that fire it's no way out ( but through it ) but at the end of it is beautiful though, I cried at the end. The only thing I could keep on saying is ( I made it ) hopping in that fire was the best decision I ever made because when I hopped and I was close to it anyway. I'm not totally at the end yet, but my worst days are behind me ( I know that for sure ). I'm 24 years old, and you are on the same trail that I was on keep going!!! And listen to your higher self, that's really important. Some of the things it tell you to give up you will not want to, but at the end of the road you will be happy that you did. I'm happy that I did and I'm a better person now. ( Be Ready ) when you hop into that fire I can't stress that enough. Be ready to listen to your higher self that's how you going to get through. Your higher self knows what's best for you better than anyone outside of you. If you are not ready to hop into the fire, don't do it. You have to be mentally ready for what's coming. Listen to positive music and watch positive things. I can even give you some of the songs that got me through it. They good R&B songs. Something that will calm down your mind. And meditate every day. Like I was saying you are on the same path that I was on that led me to this point. That's why I have faith in you that you will make it through, you are a strong person. Once you get through the fire your worst days will be behind you. You don't have schizophrenia remember that. It's too many negative things come with that label. I'm glad I never told anybody what I was going through because they would have tried to label me and put me on medicine. Which they make over 100 billion dollars off the people who take the medicine each year. They don't care about y'all, they care about y'all money. Them pills ain't doing nothing for y'all, but destroying y'all bodies and hiding the true gift of what we have. The only reason it get bad because we are not educated about it from the beginning and our Minds run crazy. And take the toxic people out of your life. They don't serve you no good. Don't take anyone else advice over your own inter advice unless it aligns with it and give you an higher-level idea of what you already know. Everybody's advice is not going to serve you good. The reason this message is so long is because I can't just tell you to hop into the fire and not tell you a way out. I didn't have nobody to tell me away out, I had to find it and trust my guidance. So I started to peep game, everytime I listened to my guidance I felt good afterwards. But when my guidance told me to do something and I did the opposite I felt worse. I was testing the waters. And me doing so gave me more faith in my inner guidance. Sometimes by you testing it and seeing the outcome gives you more faith in following it. You don't want to test it to much though, and don't test it on big situations either do it on small ones. It's just a faith booster. The stronger your faith is the better guidance you get. And the more willingly you will be to accept it. Build your foundation upon yourself. And nobody will never be able to break you. I consider myself as a rose that grew out of concrete. All Odds was against that Rose growing seeing as it was planet under concrete. But it burst through the concrete and bloomed. You are that Rose. Listen to Tupac "Baby Don't Cry", R-Kelly "I-believe-i-can-fly", Mariah Carey "anytime you need a friend" Johnny Gill "silent prayer" and Prince "Purple Rain". It's a good song and it'll help you. I shed tears hoping that you get through this, you can be a God to those whose lost in it and lead the way out from them ( p.s I don't call the source of all creation "god" and IT will be with you through your journey. Pray to IT, IT loves you and hurts when you hurts, and feels Joy when you feel Joy. IT lives within you ) Keep your head up and strong. I believe in you. I wouldn't have wrote all this if I didn't. You has what it takes to beat this, too. Our community needs you also. Don't give up on them. I ain't going to give up on them.

Yes and the person I'm living with says they mimic my voice and wakes them up to. Also I will walk through the house and hear something move in their room. At night it seems they are much busier.. I pull up a chair beside my computer and when I do go to sleep, I leave a youtube playlist going, I've even had it click the mouse and move it, just subtle things not to bad but definitely noticeable, and hearing telepathy often.. that's pretty much it. The worst is hearing telepathy from rude people

When I went into the hospital I felt like I was thought broadcasting the music I was listening to and seeing people reacting, like they were either working for the government or were part of a hive mind, where they were definitely feeling the music as I was seeing them react perfectly. When I got in the room, I was in this suicide waiting room, (I'm not suicidal btw, this was for dxm) and 3 people were in the rooms next

It happens man. Same things have happened to me on weed. If you are anxious in a certain way and to a certain severity (depending on the user) and smoke weed you can get panic attacks. You can think your'e gonna have a heart attack, etc. Your mind is doing that, and the chances are extremely low that you have smoked enough that you will die. I remember times that I knew that and it happened and was still scared. Pot is not Xanax. It can induce panic attacks.

When your heart starts racing that fast it is very likely that the weed has been laced or soaked in something else. Or maybe it's just engineered to be super high in THC and it don't level out with CBD content which is not natural...
I've smoked a lot of weed too and i know it probably aided in my development of schizophrenic symptoms, but still to this day it is almost the only thing that calms me down when it starts getting really crazy in my head. Beats any sedative i've ever been prescribed. Just the problem is that today the weed is usually tampered with which is sad.

even "healthy" people get paranoid on weed. It is even a cliche. But people love that it is a plant soooo much (like that means anything). & they all have to drink heavily or load on benzos first to do it, because somewhere inside their body is well aware. You know, I am just one person, but I'm always curious: & i am yet to encounter a single case of schizophrenia/BiPD1 etal, where the first real psychotic break - and usually at least one later hospitalization - was not arguably because of weed.
And I wont go into my rant on "underlying conditions" & if that is a nonsense expression that just means "we dont know" or "relating to rebound w/d of something we prescribed": but though alcohol is probably the single most life destroying drug (*yes, out of all of them), & true the medications suck for psychosis still - none the less weed, whatever else it ends up being good for, is not good w/people who have a psychotic history.
& we use to use everything to treat everything. thats how drug companies work. same goes w/technology.
Another interesting point is it is never the first time they smoke, but often you will get that anxiety reaction first. it is a priming dose effect, a loading dose. like w/anaphylaxis. & they can smoke heavily, then just one day, seemingly for no reason - one toke. Ive heard that exact story so many times.
anyway. you likely wont see this. But it is interesting.

Surely you have spoken with your doctor about how drugs, alcohol, and cigarettes are suspected to induce psychotic episodes because they flood the schizophrenics brain with dopamine and they already have naturally high levels of it in their system. You remind me so much of my friend. He did way too many drugs in high school and all of us feel guilty that it was partly to blame for the onset of his disease. His story ended violently, so please consult with your doctor about the consequences first

My son already had a predisposition for schizophrenia because his dad had the disorder (manifested at 28). I believe my son's disorder manifested at 18 because of the mind altering drugs he experimented with -- acid, mushrooms, and weed. 21st century weed is not the same weed as the good ol' days. LOL. There were also other drugs he tried. He can't smoke weed anymore because it makes him really paranoid now.
