Boss well done ,remember its me who requested you and I was waiting for your video. great totally awesome ,thank you so much for this. it would be awesome if you compare iphone 16 pro max with dji osmo pocket 3 inside studio and outside.
The very best tutorial on youtube on how to film yourself with an iphone, man you did great here, congrats! Edit: yes, the pro res looks way better for me, it's the softer/less digital look. If you can handle the file size i guess it's just the way to go.
Thank you for making this video! Got a lot of tips and ideas for my set up! I just wanted to ask, would the external monitor also work if i connect the iphone to a gimbal with auto tracking?
Thanks for watching! I don’t see why not. As long as you’re using the Blackmagic Camera app to transmit the signal, it should work just fine with anything.
I have migrated from Premiere pro to Da Vinci recently, but I didn't know about the color slice tab until now! I'm used to the to the HSL tab on Lightroom and I've found this color slice very similar and user friendly to do small adjustments here. Thanks for sharing! Great content as always! I don't know how is the competition on content about "Coming from Lightroom to DaVinci Resolve guide" (or anything similar), but you could give it a shot 👌
You could tell a tiny, and I mean tiny drop of quality between ProRes and HEVC. For the vast majority of people doing talking heads, or vlogs, or 99% of stuff on RUclips, then HEVC is more than good enough! As usual, good lighting and having a plan for what to shoot is far more important than exactly what format people use.
Do you have to have a mac to use the iPhone for home office streaming? I have a Lenovo laptop. Also, where does someone who isn't an expert like you begin, you lost me at this Davinci section. I bought this phone and would like to start recording videos for my channel but there's a real technical hurdle to get started. Thank you for your instructions, if you had a tutorial for non film maker experts looking to get started, that would be great. Thank you!
Yes, I have a Mac. I know what I've shown in the video might seem complex, so I'd start shooting on automatic settings and slowly add more complex layers like: manual exposure and white balance, Apple Log and then color grading.
One suggestion I learned is not to over do it in terms of shooting video daily. I have the 15 Pro Max and I was filming daily and it started to over heat and drain the battery. Maybe this is not an issue on the 16. If you notice it, could be the issue.
@@Romafedorov Noted, and thank you! One final question if you don't mind; seeing as I'm in a position where I'd purchase a new iPhone to do this, would I be better off buying a camera instead? If so, would you recommend one for a new creator?
@@NoBody-tk3yd You’re welcome! A proper camera will always give you better results than a phone when it comes to image quality. However a phone is always in your pocket.
@@Romafedorov no problem. If you watch Gerald Undone’s video he mentions that the highest dynamic range is at 1250, and the clipping ceiling is also normalised at that ISO. Good luck with your tests
I was trying to see if I could tell the difference between the ProRes and H265 footage... it's pretty close but the ProRes did look slightly cleaner. What were your thoughts after including both? I have a remote weeklong project coming up and recording AppleLog in H265 would certainly alleviate some storage concerns.
Apple ProRes definitely looks cleaner, but HEVC is very close. I’d say if you’re recording to an external SSD, use ProRes. Otherwise, go with HEVC. Most people probably wouldn’t notice a difference-it’s just us geeks who do.
Bro 😂 this was great. But the amount of people who have the balls to try this is only a select few 😂. If I set this up for someone, they would be calling me everyday with questions 😅

Nice one bro, wouldn’t have guessed it’s from an iPhone. Lighting is so important.
100%. Waiting for the hiking video!
This guy is so good with lighting and post processing that would make even an iPhone 3GS look like a professional camera 😂
Haha thanks!
This is the best guide I’ve seen yet. Thank you bro. Starting my channel soon and this video was a huge help.
I'm glad it helped! Good luck with your channel!
Brilliant video, came for the iphone setup, stayed for the pro level color grading tutorial - instant sub!
Thanks man!

Thanks so much man! I agree the ProRes is slightly cleaner, but HEVC wasn’t bad at all..
It looks great for sure. Incredible tech we have acess now.
Yes we do
Good job... I'm still building my gear since I travel all over asia... gotta go light.
HEVC looks excellent
I agree!
Amazing work
Thanks!

Interesting lighting. I am confused about external microfone connected onto phone. as in how that works
It’s very simple. If your microphone supports usb-c you can connect it directly to the iPhone. If it has a usb-c port of course..

The quality is amazing. Would I be able to achieve similar results with an iPhone 13 Pro as a beginner?
Not sure. I think for the best results an iPhone 15/16 pro is the best choice because of Apple Log.

Is there some really good software solution for Teleprompter, which puts your Copy just above Your eyes, looking into the camera? Thanks!
I use the app teleprompterPAD. It’s free and works very well!
ISO 50 Will clip highlights at around 75% ire. Best settings are at ISO 1250
I tested this and ISO 1250 gives way too much noise compare to ISO 54..

Not for the iPhone as of now, but I'm going to in the future..

this defeats the point of a portable fast solution lol

Most iPhones starting from iPhone 11 can achieve the same result
I’m not so sure about that, but maybe you’re right. Does the iPhone 11 supports Apple Log?
@@Romafedorov He's not correct. Only Iphone 15 + 16 Pro can shoot Apple Log, which makes all the difference.
