While listening to the Martin Ware's audiobook "Electronically Yours: Vol. 1: My Autobiography, I learned that he and the band were heartbroken when "This is Mine" the 2nd single off of their 3rd album "How Men Are" flopped.
With everything in place including the legendary PHENIX HORNS, they, their label and everybody else thought this would be a huge, massive hit. Everybody was wrong. That doesn't take away from the brilliance of the song and video.
So much so, that I took the extended version and crafted my own video. It bothers me that the video stops the lip syncing part after the first verse so I used bits of their P.I.T. performance to fill in the extended video quite nicely. One thing it adds to the video is that it makes it seem like the three thieves make off with the cash and buy their way into the music industry, becoming pop/new wave superstars in the process.
