    I LOVE my mini pro. It is very easy to ride - I am able to take my dogs for a long walk again. I can walk along at "people speed" or zip along. In Texas, it is classed as a personal mobility device. This is important as I am 4'10" and in my early 60s - I can zip all over on this device. I don't say this to take away from how great this device is - but to suggest you really think about this for your parents/grandparents so they can keep up with you on family outings.

    I bought two. Downgraded both to firmware 1.1.7 based on comments in a user forum I found. Over three weeks I've got over 125 miles logged. These devices are amazing. In my community (Oklahoma City, OK, USA) the ADA act and matching federal funding has improved all sidewalks and street crossings with ADA compliant ramps and street crossing buttons. I can go almost anywhere and stay on the sidewalk. 13 miles, up and down hills, across major streets without ever stepping off the MiniPro. After the first few miles riding the MiniPro it becomes intuitive and I truly do not even think about maneuvering the device. It was easier to learn to ride this than to ride a bike.
    As long as riders are conscientious of pedestrians and don't create a negative perception by tricking, or speeding around when pedestrians are present this device will become the new urban standard for commuting.

    My uncle got this thing for me for Christmas of 2017. I’ve always wanted to try a hover board and I never had until then. I tried it out and passed the tutorial rather quickly. I liked it, but I honestly had no use for this thing....ever. I walk my dog every morning and I live within 4 miles of a large plaza that has a Starbucks, movie theater, Walmart, and local grocery store. This thing has basically been collecting dust on the side of my room because I used to always ride my bike, walk, or drive. Fast forward to July of 2018. I sprain my knee badly enough where even driving hurts. Basically, if my knee was being bent, it was hurting. I remember that I have this thing, and it has been a GODSEND. I love walking my dog with this thing because it’s faster than my normal walk pace, so she runs alongside me and gets even more exercise. Being able to quickly go to Starbucks or the grocery store and not have to stop to lock or unlock my bike is great. I just get off once I get inside, pull up the “luggage” handle, and wheel it around behind me. It’s been awesome. The rides are smooth, and I don’t get sweaty like I do walking or on a bike. If I didn’t work 13 miles away like I do, I’d definitely take this thing to work. But I’ve started grad school and riding this thing around campus will also make class-to-class travel much faster and simpler. Best gift EVER. Even if it took 7 months for me to realize it. Highly recommend!

    30 years after major brain surgery I had a seizure recently. In BC, Canada you can't drive a car for 6 months after a brain seizure. So I bought a Segway Minipro -- smartest thing ever!!!! I use it for my 5 Km "drive" to work. I live on the top of a hill. This Ninebot handles everything I challenge it with. Yes, it goes slow but that's okay. I don't get sweaty as I would riding a bike. I don't wear a helmet because I just putt-putt on it. Too too fun and very very stable. Worth the money for sure. My only concern has been the TERRIBLE car drivers who seem to ignore anyone on bicycles or devices. Be ready for it even when you have the right-of-way.

      Me too, I have MS. Can't use my left knee well when walking but I can stand just fine. This is so much better than any alternative/Wheelchair/Scooter type device. I wish it was more social accepted as a Handicapped Device. It's better though when I wear a helmet with identifying Handicapped Markings on it.

    The technique required to steer this thing by way of driving the knees is very similar to the movement required to initiate turns on skis. So potentially a good training ground for those looking to learn how to carve skis.

    I saw a pro cameraman used it to replace the dolly (tracks with wheels) and the end result was fantastic. He can maneuver to whatever angle or direction he wanted. The downside of it is the cameraman or woman must be able to get used to it before filming.

    One small comment, ALL remote control device's use the device's direction not the users. The only major exception is flying a drone, some can be adjustable and quad copters don't really have a forward direction as they can fly in any direction equally. So to call this a negative to its use is a little misleading as all/vast majority wheeled remote controlled devices work this way.

    As the owner of a Segway i2 for ten years, I immediately bought the Mini. By comparison it felt weaker but fun and light. Unfortunately it’s assumed to be a hoverboard so NYC has banned those. This may get flagged as such. Also once at my destination portability becomes an issue. Finally, there’s two new models already. That ticked me off and for that, I plan to sell mine and stick with my e-scooter.

    I'm a disabled vet with MS and walking is pretty hard I have lack of left knee muscle control but I can stand ok and leaning isn't a prob. I think this will be perfect for me. My one concern though is total battery life. How long before the charge gets weaker and weaker and I need a whole new one? 5 years, 3, 2..??? Stupid to not design this with replaceable batteries.

    • @alexfallah7
      @alexfallah7 8 лет назад +1

      This thing is awesome. I just bought it a week ago and have had no problem with the battery. Have gone up very steep hills and various obstacles around the city of Boston. Knowing it's made by Segway they might have some great technology behind their battery life. If not I can just use a warrantee. All around totally worth it. Range at the moment 12-15 miles, which is absurd

    • @rammpage4468
      @rammpage4468 7 лет назад +2

    • @Wolfsheim23
      @Wolfsheim23 7 лет назад +1

      BTW, I bought one and love it!!! even easier to ride than I imagined, and I love carrying heavy things while on it. Just having to get used to the Looks I get from people and it's better since I got a white helmet and put a Handicapped Sticker on it.
