There are not many bigger Allen Iverson fans than myself, but ai have to say that yes he was the best player on his team and one of the best in the league and one of the greatesr players of all time. But the team and style of play that Larry Brown and the 76ers built around him with Snow, McKey, Lynch, Hill, Bell, Ratliff (later Mutombo), Geiger and Kukoc all perfectly complimented AI's game and they worked great as a team. Iverson's teammates were as unselfish as he was and deserves some respect for doing being that way. I loved those teams.
Those philly teams were carried by their defense, Iverson is overrated, maybe most overrated player in NBA history. Missed almost 3/5 of his career shots, which is awful in the modern era even if you shoot a lot of 3s
@jeromemccollom936 can't be carried by your defense when 1 player is responsible for 1/3 of the points every night. No iverson and that's a 20 win team every year. I dunno about well crafted. That Sixers team had to be defensive because they had no scorers and Mutombo was at the tail end of his career. He had lost all the muscle mass he had in Denver where he was a rock solid center. From top to bottom, that team needed to make a move to get some shooters. I don’t know if that’s true, but I wouldn’t be surprised. He was just that good. AI could have gone on to achieve even greater things in the NBA if his career hadn’t been cut short by injury. After the Lakers swept their way to the finals....I remember the sixers won game 1, me and my roommates got a copy of the Inquirer the next day. Front page said "The Sweep is On". Goosebumps every time I think of it.
Love his stepbacks without gather quarduplestep. Looks so fluid. How a defender can defend it here is no rule of how many steps you can take. Sometimes 2, sometimes 4. I know its for the masses watching but I hate it;/

One of the best pure athletes to lace them up in any sports. I remember his rookie season AI took a rebound off the rim and dunked it over Marcus Camby. That man is so talented and could probably play any sport he put his focus on.
Best part about iverson and Larry’s relationship was even though they threw shots at eachother through the media they respected tf outta of eachother and acknowledge each one helped the others career.
Chuck put Hampton and Newport News on the map! Just to see a guy who came from the same place we did and to make it big was wild to us, So much Talent was coming out of VA in the 90's and 2000s!
hard not to like him, unless he was your opponent. but even then everyone respected him greatly. such an honest player. gave it 100% every second on the court.
I already knew Iverson from the moment I saw him play in college Georgetown he was going to be a hall of famer just like that. His dominance in college is one of those rare moments where nobody could stop him. He was a tier above anybody and of course the rest is history. One of the most exciting players to watch in awhile.
He would’ve averaged damn near 40 today. He played in the big man era where teams had to have 4 or 5 big men just to deal with Shaq. He averaged 30 a game in that league as a 6’ tall rim attacker. Today it’s a guard’s league. Dude would’ve eaten teams alive even harder than he did back then.

Allen Iverson was an amazing basketball player. I don’t think people really understand just how good. There are rumors that back in the day, he would score 50 to 75 points in Pro AM games. I don’t know if that’s true, but I wouldn’t be surprised. He was just that good. AI could have gone on to achieve even greater things in the NBA if his career hadn’t been cut short by injury. He was one of the most gifted players to ever pick up a basketball, and he will be remembered as one of the greatest.
Allen Iverson is unstoppable when he is at his best
No, just wait for Iverson to brick 3/5 of his shots which he pretty much did for his career.
Yet the lakeshow stopped him🤣🤣🤣
I will do one push up for each like

Really enjoyed this one bro, I liked the editing too the way it was tied in with the commentary. Most people don't notice that but I learned about it a few weeks ago so it stood out to me. I think it's just better when these kind of videos are done in short ish time frame instead of the hour long usual one's that dominate the basketball sections, so it is good to see that you can do a good video with all the facts and figures that doesn't need to be an hour or more. You have yourself a new subscriber sir I'll be back this evening to see what else you got for me 👍🏻
Allen Iverson is the definition of what Top One 1st pick at the draft should be
A guy who almost misses 3/5 of his career shots?
@@jeromemccollom936I guess you would rather have Anthony Bennett, Kwame, Olowokandi right? What a stupid take! Remember this is one the best draft in the history of the NBA.
@@ryanandtheworld No, I never said that, but most first picks were better. Shaq, Hakeem, Ewing, Duncan, James. Iverson is a bad shooter who missed 3/5 of his shots, insulting me won't make that go away
Except he had no work ethic
@@jeromemccollom936 relax bro it's just a sport it's not that deep damn
iverson is one of my personal favourite players what he was able to do at 6 feet offensively was INSANE
They did receive all of the awards in 01 (not all but mostly)
Coach of the year
MVP
DPOY
6th man of the year
what id give to go back and live through this ear of basketball again
gotta love this video!~
the best AI fan is here!
Allen Iverson was the first guy to grab my attention after Michael Jordan. A phenom! He has that hypnotic movement. Only a few guys have it, I can name a few, Bruce Lee, Michael Jordan, Mike Tyson. When you see them in their game, you can't take your eyes off them. What I liked about Allen was how small he was but so strong. A true legend!
Imagine if he actually worked hard to improve that would been wild to see
After the Lakers swept their way to the finals....I remember the sixers won game 1, me and my roommates got a copy of the Inquirer the next day. Front page said "The Sweep is On". Goosebumps every time I think of it.
ai will always be one of the best scorers oat
He polished the crossover and he's a beast. Don't need the chip to be the Champion he's already Champion in me.Idol
The Answer put the Sixers on his back on the road to the finals in 2001.
He didn't have any support that was the problem.
He shot 38% percent on 30 attempts in the playoffs, they got to the finals and you claim he had no support?😂😂😂
@@frankiethefrog1752tbf he always had to take the full offensive load on the sixers
Mutombo on a all defensive first team/dpoy performance in 01 and you say he had no support? AI also didnt shoot great throughout the playoffs
@@mugenAPEXI think there talking about on offensive end
Love his stepbacks without gather quarduplestep. Looks so fluid. How a defender can defend it here is no rule of how many steps you can take. Sometimes 2, sometimes 4. I know its for the masses watching but I hate it;/
6 foot nothing 💀
When I was a kid I saw his small size and was absolutely stunned at how he just kept getting it done and winning against he odds and playing some of the swaggiest basketball I ever saw. He was amazing man, his style is that of a winner.
I'll do 3 push ups for each like!
One of the best pure athletes to lace them up in any sports. I remember his rookie season AI took a rebound off the rim and dunked it over Marcus Camby. That man is so talented and could probably play any sport he put his focus on.
Reminds me when lebron carried the 07 cavs
Seeing videos like this pop up make me feel old as hell 😭
AND kids nowadays think Kyrie is better LMAO I pity this generation
Facts ai is miles better
Fr tho
Kyrie has better handles
He will always be one of my goats period he was different 🔥🔥🔥iverson was that guy first hip hop hooper 🐐
He was really unlucky being stuck in between Jordan & Kobe era.
He and Kobe was in the same draft Iverson was roy
I'm glad to have been alive to watch him actually play

Allen Iverson was every shorter guys favorite player. Even though he was just 6 ft he was deadly on the court
Best part about iverson and Larry’s relationship was even though they threw shots at eachother through the media they respected tf outta of eachother and acknowledge each one helped the others career.
My mans is blunt wit the narration. I'm here for it!!!!
Underrated story fr
Great video
Chuck put Hampton and Newport News on the map! Just to see a guy who came from the same place we did and to make it big was wild to us, So much Talent was coming out of VA in the 90's and 2000s!
YES, SIR!!!! The Peninsula stand-up!! The whole 757 can get some love, too.
hard not to like him, unless he was your opponent. but even then everyone respected him greatly. such an honest player. gave it 100% every second on the court.
Nice video yo
Iverson would be a menace in the modern game, pace and space it would be easy pickings for AI.
Phenomenal video!
I sat as kid watching those very skills growing up and grown now at 40 glad I went to actual game too
dope video,, informative and captivating
This was a great video i remember wearing the balck AI reboks with the strap and a headband hoop at 8-10 y/o made me tear up. Great tribute to a role model and icon 👏🏿
THE ANSWER, the man who made me love basketball
We could never learn to be brave and patient if there were only joy in the world.
Great video!
Pound for pound The toughest NBA player I've ever witnessed at a time when fouls were fouls. No fear in this man's game 🤘🤠
Excellent content, sir
That play at 2:06 is insane. The ball does not bounce off the glass in a normal way, because of how he spins it. It looks like it defies physics.
no it dosent😭
