- In this Microsoft Flight Simulator video, we setup the MCDU in the FlyByWire A32nx for a flight from Gatwick to Munich using a flightplan generated in Simbrief, we use the Simbrief integration feature for the A32nx and then we setup the MCDU again doing everything manually for those of you who don't use Simbrief.

Recently discovered your channel and decided it was time to download the a320 and replicate your flight from Manchester. Absolutely loved it and lost a whole weekend trying to get my head around this fabulous plane.
One thing that totally confused me though was the Navigraph chats. Not so much reading them, but just how you flicked around all the different types of charts and screens! Be awesome if you could walk through SimBrief and Navigraph charts a little and how to use them in your flying. Awesome job though. I’m going to replicate this particular MCDU setup over the coming days!! ❤
I just finished the MCC course on the A320, FI was an A320 examiner and we actually used to feed it with the calculated trim by typing "up" or "dn" directly followed by the value for instance "UP1.2".
So when rotating the pitch trim is already where it should be, from there on autotrim managed the trim of course.
Tip: Use Airport key to jump to DEST in flight plan. Saves some scrolling.
Didn't know that. Thanks
Thank you for making it simple - I wanted to up my game in the sim 👌👌
Another great video but I did notice you changed the takeoff runway. I was following along so I set my flight plan up as I saw it in your simbrief plan. Not a big deal but just thought I would mention it. I really learned a lot so thanks for that.
Is there a way to insert flaps for approach? I only noticed i can do that just for take off. There is such option on a310 by the way
Amazing tutorial! I recommended it to my beginner cousin too and he loved it too! Super simple and easy to understand if you know the basics.
Nice clear explanation, thanks. I needed that refresher guide !
Amazing guide! Best on youtube!
Thanks. Please also create a video explaining how to select STAR.. what VIA and TRANS to select. Another question, if you messed up flight plan on MCDU, how to clear current plan and re-fetch from simbrief?
Thank you very much. I learned a lot of things and will implement them.
Thx. for the tutorial ...I have an issue into my flybywire tablet ( when I click the sitting and then select the ATSU/AOC , there is no (( SimBrief/username/pilot id)) ...to enable me enter my ID... the second issue is when I click the MCDU - AOC MENU (( there is no OPTION text)) so I can enter the simBrief ... and the last qustion is (( How to enable Capt. and copailot seen into the cockpit ?)) Plz HELP
I know this is 3 months later, but I had that issue too, it’s just that they changed it in the settings. Instead of clicking the atsu, you click external something I forgot. But it’s there. It finally worked and I was really happy.
I am using simbrief but I didn’t have the button to request the info on the INIT page? Any idea as to why?
Super confused still, even after logging 90+ hours in this game I don't understand I got lost half way through I couldn't figure out anything and my stuff didn't look right.
I dont get V speeds its says format error
hello can you help ? when going to the settings on the fbw pad ATSU/AOC the simbrief username/pilot id is missing it should be under hoppie user id at the momment i cant use simbrief?
Check under settings, 3rd party options on the flypad
thanks so much!
@@RealSimPilot
The place to put in the simbrief ID doesn't show up for me, only the Hoppie user ID. How do i fix that?
nvm I found it
clear explanation -thanks!!!
When I use my rudder it goes the opposite way then to the right way
Is it possible to explain what Cng Code means in the Mcdu Thanks
Where did you get and decided APPR via "MIQ" which was not in flight plan?
I should have included the chart for the arrival. It was chosen based off of the STAR and direction of flight. There's multiple VIAs that can be chosen From. Just take the one that makes most sense.
Hi there i would like to know where you see your takeoff info in simbrief i couldnt find it thank you
Why do i keep getting Map not avail whenever i turn in the plane? I'm dont everything as exactly in the video.. 4:07
Map becomes available after ADIRS are aligned. The time it takes depends on your realism settings. You can change it on the EFB.
What abut the flex to temp ( why we keep it empty ) ? @ 15:03 .... Thanks a lot for the tutorial
You don't always have to use a flex temp. It just used to de-rate the engines to save on fuel and engine wear. Not really required in the sim
thx. for your reply @@RealSimPilot
clear and useful thank you
Excellent primer on programming the MCDU. I followed along in FlightSim and tried to enter the information exactly as you did. Everything was working great except that at around 18:20 you jumped back into the MCDU from Navigraph and seemed to start DIFSRIP from scratch. Is this an alternate route?
No i reset it and then the second one was an example of inputting all the data in manually rather than using the simbrief integration.
@@RealSimPilot Got it. Many thanks!
nice, but you skip the tropo, ground temp and wind data. A/c status, alternate route, Nadp and progress page
You did not explain how you choose a VIA for the arrival approach. What if we don't have charts?
you need charts to know which procedures to fly
Hey m8 .i saw on ATSU that W/B its not there . And i saw an other vid that is there.can you explain me this why happens;
It's moved to the flypad
Can anyone help can we connect and use a tablet for the in flight tablet which will make the experience more realistic?
6:55 how do i keep this updated? do i have to pay for the subscription?
show, how do you highlight the flight plan screen as a popup exemple on 9:21 minutes.
Press the right ALT key and click on it
Hello.I have a question. What plugin do you use for the planes in the airport.Thank you!
It's called FSLTL
Please help me when i press "INIT REQUEST" it show Not in database i already download it but idk which file should i download there is so many of them or where should the file located ?
Have you connected your simbrief account to the FBW aA32nx?
@@RealSimPilot yes i did
No mention of Flex To Temp?! Should this be set... even in a sim??
You can set it but it's not necessary in the sim.
I have a A32NX Performance calculator, which I can't remember where I downloaded it. I use it only to get the FLX (Flex to temp), but it also gives you a lot of other information. Works very well for me. And it downloads the information from Simbrief, which is perfect. With FLX you don't go full TOGA when taking off. According to my research, this isn't 100% as in real life, as some of the information for the Airbus isn't public knowledge, but works for the simulator if you want a more immersive experience. You can use the tool for takeoff and landing information.
Very nice. Let us know where you got it from if you remember.
How do you hae the Top of descent point in the fmc?
You'll get it if the FMC is set correctly
@@RealSimPilot Is it an issue where if i do not have the latest airac version the tod point won'r show up?
@@cascadex167 no you just need to have the flight set into the MCDU with all the calculations done
@@RealSimPilot after all the calculations the TOD is still not there
It's been available for a while now. If everything is set up correctly it should work
Does somebody know how to get the tablet in the a320? There's a bunch of tutorials on how to set up Navigraph but I don't know how to get the actual tablet....
It comes with the aircraft. You need to install the FlyByWire A32nx. Not the default A320
@@RealSimPilot Ohhh okay. Thank you so much, it worked... this made everything sooo much better. I always used the default a320... Thanks again. Great video, as always.
I'm new to vatsim but how do you work out if your on a 8 mile final for RWY 23L is it to do with the DME or something?
If you're on an ILS approach you can see the distance to the ILS on the bottom left corner of the ND.
@@RealSimPilot Ok thx do you havto be in approach mode?
@@YoungVatsimPilot_AUS no press the LS button on the EFIS panel
What version of the FBW are you using? I get no T/C or TOD info in my flight plan
Development version. You should have a TOC and TOD once you've set up your mcdu
@@RealSimPilot So is that not in the stable version?
@@justinjohnson8102 no give the development version a try.
I think you need to have weights and v-speeds entered before calculations for VNAV T/C and T/D to kick in. And the development version as stated elsewhere.
How do i enlarge the display screen like you did at 9:24 ?
Hold down the Right ALT key and click on the display
Wait is this a reupload sir? Because im sure i have use this tutorial few months ago
It's an updated version
How do you popout the ND?
Press the right ALT key and click the display
What OFP Layout do you use?
Lido
@@RealSimPilot Thank you
Sorry I mean CHG code
The Ipad literally isn't there...
Because you litterally are using the default aircraft. You have to use the Fly by wire A320NX

Thank you very much, I appreciate the MCDU tutorial
I will really appreciate if you do a complete tutorial on A320 Setup tutorial from cold and dark to take off
great video! quick question though:
when you completed the mcdu with the simbrief integration, it gave you the altitudes and speeds for all of the waypoints, however when you did it manually, i didnt see them. do they also have to be filled in manually?
Thanks for watching! No they will also populate once all the other pages have been filled in. You don't have to put those in all manually I just didn't go back through the flightplan after inputting all the data manually.
@@RealSimPilot aha, thanks for clarifying and great video!
Thx for makeing it simple and it helped Me so much
7:32 I don't have that option of init request, what should I do?
My tablet looks completely different. What’s the deal with that? Lol. Tried to find recent ish videos.
Some times the sid in the simbrief is not in the mcdu then what to do??
why at KOK you presses insert and then added in other part? why didn't you just added at the AIRWAYS FROM ODVIK part?
Appreciate the review. It helped confirm the process in my mind from your earlier version, and those of others.
One question that perplexes me: I set up a flight in SimBrief from KBWI to KPIT. On the STAR of runway 10L at Pittsburgh (DEMME 5), there is an altitude constraint of 10,000 feet at NESTO which shows correctly in the MCDU. However, when I look at the next waypoint in the STAR (DEMME) the MCDU still shows my initial cruising altitude of FL250 (25000). It does not show the next constraint waypoint (GRUNZ). It also has a constraint of 60000. I would have exxpected to see it listed. The next waypoint in PENGN which, again, shows the FL250 altitude. I am confused. I thought that if the MCDU indicates a lower altitude (such as the 10,000 at NESTO) it should show the same altitude at the next waypoint, not the initial cruise altitude. I am also confused why GRUNZ and its >6k altitude constraint did not show at all. I do have a Navigraph subscription and using the correct AIRNC in SImBrief and the sim.
My concern is whether this behavior will mess up my descents during the STAR phase of the flight as well at the ILS approach.
Any ideas why this might happen? Or do I just have to manually "correct" the inerrent altitudes in the MCDU before I begin the flight? Or do I just ignore and use Selected altitudes instead of Managed?
Many thanks.
thank you
So if I don't purchase the subscription and the airac won't be updated, It wont work?
Such a good tutorial!
What a great video ! Really helpful ! Thank You 👍🙏🏻✈️👨✈️
Just wondered why you didn't load the winds on the Init A page 👍
May I ask where do we get the approach via information?
Thanks for the great video/update. The FBW set up changes so often it's so helpful you do these videos. Thanks once again
thank you its working now /just subscribed
Manual setup starts at 17:07
Thank you good sir
My ZFW/ZFWCG doesn't seem to compute correctly after entering block fuel. Wondering if there's a bug? Comes up with 55.4/32.1 (out of range error). Did i miss a step? I don't think I downloaded the block fuel data from SimBrief, I just entered the block number shown in the briefing data. Does it pull other data that is used for that calculation? I have tried this again and found that it will give me the ZFW/ZCG number without the block number entered. So maybe I /we were doing that out of order?
ZFW doesn't include the fuel. It is the aircraft plus payload. Stands for zero fuel weight. Are you using the flybywire a20n profile in simbrief with the correct aircraft weights?
I noticed that you have filled in the LS/FREQ under the RADNAV in the MCDU. Where did you locate that info and what would be the correct format to enter it into the MCDU?
It's populated automatically after choosing the approach in the MCDU
I dont have that tablet
flybywiresim.com
Once again. Thanks a lot sir! You’re my guy!
I like how it says FREE all over the simbrief website but then as soon as you register to use the services, or try to do literally anything, it forces you to pay a 10 dollar monthly fee to do anything 🙄🙄🙄
I wish some of this stuff was cheaper. I love flight sim, and flying the big jets. But when it costs 10 quid a month for just charts and airac data, not counting aircraft, scenery etc, it makes me question if it's worthwhile, especially while I have to pay for my PPL.
For real, same here brotha nothing for free in life
You need to sign up
Then log in on simbrief
Buts is free
Is that a South African accent?
It is
@@RealSimPilot Nice! I was born just outside Durban, but my family moved to US when I was 3, so no accent myself.
Thank you, super job!
Brilliant for someone learning this - thanks
Thanks for the tutorial
Is there any free version for simbreif?
THANKS BRO YOURE THE BEST
among other things, it doesn't recognize my simbrief user name
Same, it only shows me hoobie id
Bloody awesome!!!!

I’m also just wondering, is the plane used free?
Yes the FlyByWire A32nx
