"Movement is key to longevity.". A Harvard study began with the hypothesis that thousands of years old skeletal remains would show more signs of wear and tear than more recently deceased due to daily tasks being more labor intensive. Upon examination, the opposite were discovered. More recent decedents whose daily tasks & employment involved more automation showed more joint damage than the ancient. It's theorized that daily activity keeps a proper balance of fluid needed to lubricate the joints, avoiding bone clashing with bone 😮. That may also explain why recovery from illness & injury may involve shorter rest times & nurses helping patients to get up & move around ASAP. Thank you for this video, Lee.
I pick a few of your exercises daily as I have suffered lower back and leg pain for years I,m feeling much better I now feel a blood flow in my legs your a very good teacher thank you
Another great one to add to my daily routine. I have bursitis and tendonitis in one hip, connected to RA, and have to go very carefully. However I think this will help very nicely as long as I don't overdo it. Am feeling the energy flow and it just feels so wonderful. And I am feeling it right down to my feet, as you say. Thank you so much, Lee.
Hi there! Just a shower of gratitude for these wonderful practices! I’ve discovered quigong through your wonderful uplifting energy, and now it is my new morning routine. Love the energy flow ❤️ thank you so much!
Hi! I am new to this channel. Only been here for a short time. I love the teaching style of this channel. It's really pedagogical. And it's soooo easy to tag along. Viva Qigong! Thanks not only for a great yt channel - but also thanks a lot for amazing movements!! Thanks!!!! Exercising is a lot more fun now. Maybe i can start running outdoors too very soon. Running outdoors as a sport and exercising has always been a dream in my heart. Hopefully i can make that dream come true soon! I have this amazing goal! It's too beat my boyfriend in running. He is really sporty so i have a goal to one day run faster than him! Amazing girlpower, no? It's flawless 🏃♀️🏃♀️🏃♀️🏃♀️😃😎😎😎😎 Best Wednesday wishes from Sweden.
Hi lee, love these exercises, I have a knee and hip replacement. Your hip exercise has helped me where PT did not. Are there any specific movements I should not be doing?
Hi Lee. Thanks for these. I have a couple of questions. When rolling the hips to the front, are the knees locked, soft or ? And when pushing to the front with knuckles on the low back, my heels want to come off the floor. Do the heels lift off the floor (or the toes?) at any point in any of these exercises? Thanks!
Hello Lee. I've been practicing your AM Qigong since 2014. I've been walking 5.5-6.5 miles ever other day for 4 months and AP Qigong on the off days. I'm beginning to have hip joint pain, mostly on the right hip. In doing the AM practice, I may be bending to far forward and backward during hip circles?
I have osteoarthritis of the hips and lower back and find many routines of Qi Gong, including Ba Duan Jin & 10 Mindful Moments, very helpful in reducing pain. The exercises in this video should be helpful, too
I had my hip replaced in late December 2020. Are these exercises safe for my recovery? I have been doing the ones for high blood pressure and seen results there. I do have the Great Courses Series, that you did and would like to get back into doing the ones for strong joints, but have been a little hesitant, due to my hip replacement. Any suggestions?
I had a hip replacement in 2019 and was told by a very experienced Pilates instructor not to cross the body with leg and not to inwardly rotate the leg. Hope that helps.

Are these exercises ok if you have arthritis in the hip ?

I am no expert, but I feel sure these exercises should be fine even after hip replacement. Just start out gentle, and if you feel ANY pain, just stop.
I had a hip replacement in 2019 and was told by a very experienced Pilates instructor not to cross the body with leg and not to inwardly rotate the leg. Hope that helps.
@@helenb6936 It does, my surgeon even said to not do that. Thank you.
