I have a FT-1000MP Mark V sitting in my shack right now. It's not mine, but I am free to use it. It has the 6 meter transverter, external speaker, desk mic, Yaesu power supply, remote vfo control and voice memory remote... Its a sweet rig. My personal rig is a Kenwood TS-940sat...
And just remember the receiver design is now called down conversion which icom has abandoned. Look for receiver with first I.F. Around 8mhz not 50! Some discussions in the past with this design having problems around shortwave transmitterstransmitters in Europe as the reason for getting away from low I.F.’s and image on 12. That’s the reason Kenwood gave for making the combination in the 590. Great video.
I have the MarkV, 101ZD, 1000D, FT990. All these radios are top shelf and blow away and top of the line SDR shack in a box radio. Hands down. Even the old D model with no DSP sounds better.
This is my first HF rig. I came close to buying a IC7300 but I really like this radio and I got a very good deal on it. I have a couple questions. I have the model with the built in power supply do you know where I could get a 13.8V power cord for this radio for field use? I am missing the mic. I plan on buying the Heil CC-1-XLR-YB adapter cable + Heil FS-3 Footswitch for PTT. I was looking at the Shure SM-57 Cardioid Dynamic mic and Kasonic Microphone Stand Kit.
Is that a md100a8x mic running with the radio? I use one with an 847 but can't get it to drive as hard as the mh31 fist mic when keeping the alc at the correct level.
Does it do 11m mate on 27,500mhz (albiet freehand) as i enjoy Ssb across Europe at present, and the 1000mp is 100w and 1000mp M5 is 200w would that be correct. Also RF power is variable from 1-100w correct, thanks for any advise, i am contemplating 1 at the moment, an upgrade from an Alinco Dx-Sr8e
One of the real big guns from Yaesu, a table full of Radio with lots of knobs and switches. I miss my 920 and 950 too. 73

after looking for one for ages getting mine on 7 or 8 august late 2005 manufacture
What rigs are today's options for these type of flagships?
Fantastic radio..
How did you get such a bright readable display on the radio? Mine is very dim and what little adjustment doesn't seem to bring it up brighter.

When you are operating split frequency, are you using one antennae or two?
I had the MKV 200 WATTS and then sold it big mistake now got the FT1000MP 100watts and also the ft2000D 200 watts

Hi, im looking to buy one of these radios, can help me to find one. Must be in great condition. Im in NSW Australia.
Right now there's a mint one on eBay from Japan for USD 1999, any takers?
Problems with postage usually arise after purchase, and you get held to ransom for more money arising at posting time, happens a lot here in England
Shame they don't build it any more one of yaesu big mistake
