Workers would never push the ride up the hill.
The train itself probably weighs ~1000 pounds and the riders combined probably weigh another 4000 pounds.
So that’s about 5,000 pounds uphill.
Yes it’s on wheels, but that’s still not something anyone is going to be able to push up a 200 foot hill.
It would also be extremely illegal to have workers do that.
Train stoppages on the lift hill are completely normal and safe. The anti-rollback will prevent it from falling down the hill and the ride stops because the safety system is working properly.
Rides can stop because of sensors being tripped on the ride, the next block zone not being open, operator shutting the ride down for various reasons (most commonly someone took out their phone), etc…
Workers will go on the hill up to the train when it stops to talk to the guests and reassure them/ inform them of what is happening and answer any questions so they aren’t just sitting there having no idea what is going on. But a worker would never push a ride up the hill. They wouldn’t be able to and even if they could it’s extremely dangerous for them to try and the park would face serious legal consequences for it

This was the first roller coaster I ever rode. I was around 12 or 13 then. I am 29 now, and even after all that time, this is still one of my absolute favorites. Definitely in my top 10.

Rode it as Phantom in the 90's as my first steel coaster. Rode it in between, but it became my 7 year old's first yesterday. She has SO MUCH FUN! We have a new coaster fan on our hands!
The instant drop in your stomach after realizing how high it is is so funny . Love this roller coaster
Sitting in the back row, you feel like you are free falling on the second drop. Never experienced that on any other coaster before

@@iamtinfamousxii9326 rode both. No drop at cedar point compares to the phantoms second drop as far as the sensation. I’ve ridden over 350 coasters so far.. maybe it’s hometown bias but the second drop is bliss.

I was disappointed when they ditched the inversions but they did keep the best parts. The lift, lift hill and second hill are iconic. I've ridden a lot of coasters but this one gives me chills thinking about it! After riding it over and over I'd be laying in bed and my head/body still felt like I was dropping down that second hill!
My family used to go to Kennywood every year for father's day, and every year I'd say that I would ride the Phantom. But I wussed out every time, I plan on fixing that next time im in town xD for reference, we did that from about 2005-2010, and I'm 27 now
I haven't been to Kennywood or rode this in 20 years and it looks like the tracks are now CPU generated to be ultra smooth, but I still miss the rough ride of the original Phantom with loops!
It looks so fun, I keep having doubts because of the first hill. Other than that, I’d love to go on it.
The first hill has the biggest drop and tou get some ejector air time.. plus for an arrow it is super smooth
@@Kennywood_Fanatic It is not an arrow coaster, it was once an arrow coaster when it originally opened. Since it was replaced, the only arrow portions of the ride are the Station, Lift Hill, and the Brake Run. The first drop used to be arrow until the 2009 season, then they replaced it along with the track up until the second drop.
Just wanted to correct you as tiny details matter a lot. But I know what you meant.

my first time on a rolar coaster my friend insisted on me going on this for my first ever rollar coaster so I did and the arrow chain lift a good old classic I loved it and the drop scared me but 10/10 love this ride

Was riding this yesterday, someone apparently took off their shoe, because on the first bunny hill, i saw someones shoe fly past. (was in back row/best row) I couldn't catch it tho...
This was the last ride I rode in Kennywood I was scared to death when I was In line but I pushed through it and as soon as it was over I said “ I want too go on that again I rode every single roller coaster in kennywood and plus the Black widow which I hated and felt like I died 😂

Rode it twice in a day and the second time was a lot more rougher and wasn't as good as the first time. But it was really fun

I've always wanted to try this coaster out, but I've always been terrified. I've ridden every coaster in the park except for this and Steel Curtain. My friends are insistent that it's truly not that bad. They say that you feel more dropping feeling on the double-down for Jackrabbit than either drop on Phantom. Is this true? Help me out if you can, cause I do really wanna go on, I'm just scared.
The dropping feeling is definitely more extreme on Jack Rabbit, the big drops on Phantom start more gradually. The smaller hills are more abrupt, but I wouldn't call it a "dropping" feeling since they're so small, there's no time to feel like you're falling.
It’s good bro I just rode this today there are times where you get some positive and negative g forces but it is a fun ride

Hate this one cause of the short and loose lapbar. Thought I was going to fall out and the speed combined with anxiety of dying made me so nauseous (dont call me a baby cause i’m one who has rode dangerous rides before along with every other roller coaster)
