HIP HOP fits so fucking well with all of the characters in this game, usually it just feels ''cringe'' or whatever and characters try to look cool and stuff but it usually never works and just ends up as the developers trying to hard or just failing. In this game don't just pick anybody but try everybody because guess what it's as RYU says from one of his quotes TO TRY SOMETHING NEW IS TO EXPLORE TRUE POTENTIAL.
Shame this song didn't make it into Smash. It would've been so funky hearing this as Ryu beats the living hell out of Princess Peach. Wait, that came out wrong.
DrScaphandre I agree. All they did was use 3 versions of Ryu's Theme and 3 version of Ken's Theme from Street Fighter 2. I was kinda disappointed by the lack of Street Fighter 3 & 4 music myself.
you see I'm not too good at fighting games ESPECIALLY Capcom ones (which i hate because Capcom's JoJo's Bizarre Adventure is amazing and i suck...). I find Her difficult af to beat. but not as hard as Remy or Gill (all of which i can beat, with luck and patience)
Im a grown man and I might start rapping this to myself absentmindedly while I do something throughout the years. On several occasion throughout the years, some other guys who work there would chime in and rap it too. Just a weird and cool thing to discover you were a fan of some 2000s game just like other people- but to discover it by rapping the character select screen. I hope the creator of this song always carries around the understanding of what a cool thing his creation was to a whole generation's youth.
No. This theme for the character selection is a Mozart classic. This sounds so like d&b jungle mix. It really does sound like d&b jungle mix with a mixture of Hiphop and Brazilian Jazz 🤗😌
The Rapper is Infinite. He is from Rexdale Toronto Canada. I listened to him a lot in the late 90s as a kid and actually own one of his EP albums. He was a DJ for a Canadian Rap group in the 90s called Ghetto Concept before going solo. I believe he actually started putting out new music a few years back again also, still sounds the same.
They were like fuck the industry standards and they went with their own shit with this game and this is how it turned out sick af & I fucking love it !
It makes no sense how good this song is... From the beat to the old school style of rap to the lyrics. Listening just takes you back to the early 90s where life was at its best. Crazy
Welcome to the world of Street Fighter 3. Prepare for battle. Well, I got your picture. Yeah, I've been waiting for this! Yeah, that makes sense! That's what I expected! Yeah, I see.
SF6 is going back to 3rd Strike Hype! So far, 6 is looking impressive with the urban/street ambiance and music. I hope the mechanics of the game will be worthy of praise.
The upcoming *Street Fighter 6* which FINALLY continues AFTER Street Fighter III here, is giving me the same vibes SFIII here has. The music, attitude, (even) older characters, character designs, atmosphere, everything. 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
This rap song is still pretty dope for it's age.for an video game music including street fighters this is one of the tracks i remembering hearing the Most in this game A Lot
Really wished the character select theme in 6 was half as good as this song. It just baffles me how many rap/hip hop bangers we have gotten in recent years yet SF6's theme just feels so "been there done that" while this theme still feels fresh.
I was a big arcade rat in the 90s and played SF hardcore. I played all the other iterations of SF3. I was perplexed with the rap selection. As a kid growing up in the 80s and 90s I just never thought I'd hear hip hop infused in a video game. My mind was blown
I'd like to think this song and how this soundtrack in general was received is what made Capcom take a similar approach with sf6's soundtrack but damn they need this guy involved!!!
It straight up makes me mad that Capcom, for some reason, just stopped pouring so much love into their game's soundtracks. On my life, Dreamcast brought out the best in Capcom.
@@Jin-lp5lt From what I've heard, the Street Fighter games played better on Sega consoles (Saturn in particular). And this game did come out for the Dreamcast.

Ahh the 90s simple times... walking to the Videogame store putting 50cent to play this game and grabing a 1$ slice after... simple time
This should be the character select theme for every fighting game.
Not really...
but really a consideration for SF games
+MetalSonicodraco7342 I think what he means is every fighter should have themes like this
+BrolyLSSJ01 Except MvC2. "Gonna take you for a ride" is still pretty damn good.
PutYaGunsOn that too
+PutYaGunsOn That's literally a 5 second loop. It isn't that good
Beast character select theme ever hands down
Street Fighter going back to the Streets in SF6!
I listen to this atleast once a day
Lmak me too
In this game don't just pick anybody but try everybody because guess what it's as RYU says from one of his quotes TO TRY SOMETHING NEW IS TO EXPLORE TRUE POTENTIAL.
Wayne Barton lol true
Jose Acabal It's because RYU's quotes have a real true meaning to them and I can see some wisdom through them that's why.
Shame this song didn't make it into Smash. It would've been so funky hearing this as Ryu beats the living hell out of Princess Peach. Wait, that came out wrong.
DrScaphandre Meh, any music is good to shoryuken the fuck out of that bitch.
DrScaphandre I agree. All they did was use 3 versions of Ryu's Theme and 3 version of Ken's Theme from Street Fighter 2. I was kinda disappointed by the lack of Street Fighter 3 & 4 music myself.
vulpixsmi Or the fact that there was no Guile Theme.
Right?! It's even worse when you don't even like the original SF2 soundtrack...Then they throw 3 Remixes of Ryu and Ken's. Such a dumb decision. -_-
DrScaphandre A third strike medley would have been great.
Elena's smile always makes me smile :3
tbh. i hate her so much. sry man.
no need to be sorry I hate her too, her only free pass is her design and animations.
you see I'm not too good at fighting games ESPECIALLY Capcom ones (which i hate because Capcom's JoJo's Bizarre Adventure is amazing and i suck...). I find Her difficult af to beat. but not as hard as Remy or Gill (all of which i can beat, with luck and patience)
+La Mista Elena is a tricky character for sure
+Menmaa Babaa So why do you hate her?
Im a grown man and I might start rapping this to myself absentmindedly while I do something throughout the years. On several occasion throughout the years, some other guys who work there would chime in and rap it too. Just a weird and cool thing to discover you were a fan of some 2000s game just like other people- but to discover it by rapping the character select screen. I hope the creator of this song always carries around the understanding of what a cool thing his creation was to a whole generation's youth.
SF3 is the blackest fighting game
You goddamn racist 😂
Infinite the rapper is black hes Canadian tho
+damon page Except a good chunk of the cast is Asian.
lmao
most of the music is jazz and hip hop
"One false move, kid, that be disaster, I beat you endless and continue the day after."
never have I clicked on a random recommended video and been THIS blown away holy shit
Certified hood classic.
No. This theme for the character selection is a Mozart classic. This sounds so like d&b jungle mix. It really does sound like d&b jungle mix with a mixture of Hiphop and Brazilian Jazz 🤗😌
When a character select music has more effort put into it than modern rap.
PKKINGCRIMSON REQUIEM Ω Truth
For real
Nah
Mumble rap
Yung keystone yah
*"WE AWAIT YOUR RETURN, WARRIOR."*
Leave me alone 😂
@@THE_CHOSEN_11 😏✌
@@edwardgaines6561 you got street fighter 30th anniversary?
@@THE_CHOSEN_11 Nah man, I'm too busy working now. That's why I hit up RUclips.
my exact sentiments towards you. I see you comment everywhere, lol.
whomever had the idea to add the godfather of soul sample shouting Hit Me! in a street fighter was truly inspired. SF III has my fave soundtrack.
+No Pasarán We all have Hideki Okugawa to thank for this wonderful beat
We're going to streets again boys!
Let's get it on!

This was peak SF music
They nailed so much about the presentation in this 3rd entry, so much better than the first two versions.
Still got this game on dreamcast...
They were like fuck the industry standards and they went with their own shit with this game and this is how it turned out sick af & I fucking love it !
Man I'd bump this all day
The music for Street Fighter 3: 3rd Strike sounds badass. Man, I wished it was the select character theme for Street Fighter V.
“What music do you listen to?”
“It’s complicated…”
Nothings complicated it's just rap/hip-hop about picking a character in street fighter.
The Street Fighter game that made me want to actually get good at it. Years later, I'm still trash at SF but this song still bangs.
Right there with ya man, straight trash at this game but damn if this track ain't fire.
Now THIS is a character select theme.
my reaction to SF6 finally going back to the streets: YEAH THAT MAKES SENSE!
0:57 1:56 1:57 2:14 3:30 3:31
It is refreshing and fun mood!
Not even Daigo could parry these bars
Facts can't wait for the rest of the stage themes
The upcoming *Street Fighter 6* which FINALLY continues AFTER Street Fighter III here, is giving me the same vibes SFIII here has. The music, attitude, (even) older characters, character designs, atmosphere, everything. 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Usually rap in video games is corny but this is actually fire
Here is a loop of the remix! ruclips.net/video/rBwM8ZBgwnw/видео.html
mm in a way but 70 percent of times they do it really well eg mass destruction from p3 and some jet set radio tracks
I don't think we will get something like this ever again
I like how the song is all about choosing a Character
Kinda a dick move that capcom baiscally hired the song writer and tell him that he must have 3 songs literally the next day
Only someone who could've pulled the feat off would have been worthy enough to put on THIS game!
And he was!
That how japanese are.....they expect stuff be done.....no if or but smh 😒🍵...
Jazzy 90's hip hop. Gotta love it.
Here is a loop of the remix! ruclips.net/video/rBwM8ZBgwnw/видео.html
I'll never forget being blown away by this.
SF6 character select : i've come to challenge you
i hope the character select theme for SF6 have this banger music like this.
This was the best aesthetic SF ever had, this game is sooooo smooth
It's a toss up between this and alpha 3 for me.
2022 and STILL keep this in my morning routine!
The late 90's early 2000's days
Guys remember this was supposed be the final game in the series
I'd like to think this song and how this soundtrack in general was received is what made Capcom take a similar approach with sf6's soundtrack but damn they need this guy involved!!!
It straight up makes me mad that Capcom, for some reason, just stopped pouring so much love into their game's soundtracks. On my life, Dreamcast brought out the best in Capcom.
Sega does what nintendon't
@@baneofaraarasirdubious5614 greedytendo*
This game wasn't made for the dreamcast. Sega doesn't get to have credit just cause there's a port of the game on their system. That's dumb af
@@Jin-lp5lt From what I've heard, the Street Fighter games played better on Sega consoles (Saturn in particular). And this game did come out for the Dreamcast.
