So the playlist I looked at definitely skipped Urien and Gill, but I looked them up after! Urien’s stage was not really my favorite, very fast-paced and a little too busy for my ears but still pretty cool. Gill’s was awesome, loved the beat, chords-everything! Sorry I missed these two!

Long time 3rd Strike player, first time viewer of your channel. Glad you enjoyed the 3S OST! The character themes are definitely tailored to the characters. "Spunky" definitely fits the character: Makoto, who is tom-boy karate expert. She has slow walk, super fast, hits like a truck and kill most of her opponents in 2 or 3 combos. The themes vibes fit her playstyle perfectly.
Btw, most of the "drops" are the 'Round 2' parts of the fight. So the music chamge complements the story of the fight. Pretty cool for a fighting game from 1999.
Glad you loved it! As an old 3rd Strike player, I can vouch the music still holds up so phenomenally well after all this time and always leaves me wanting another match! If I'm not mistaken, you're missing two songs here: Urien's Theme (Crazy Chili Dog) and Gill's Theme. Both are worth a listen!

Hi Apple! Good on you for doing a reaction to this awesome game's soundtrack! One thing I wanted to note! At 6:54, you mention they didn't use real instruments. You were listening to the arranged soundtrack. The original and arranged sound VERY different. Crowded Street is one such song. If you listen to the original Jazzy NYC 99, you can for sure hear more bass. The only thing the arranged soundtrack has over the original is how they extend the song. You also asked if a live band covered any songs at 15:05. J-Music and insaneintherainmusic both did covers of Jazzy NYC '99 and they're amazing! I’m so glad to see fighting games getting recognized in recent years for their great music. You should def check out the Tekken and SoulCalibur franchise. SoulCalibur II has the most iconic in its series and Tekken 3, 4, and 5 are up your alley for sure.
I haven't seen this type of reaction video. Awesome. Yeah the 3rd strike soundtrack is legendary at this point. My favorite one is the staff roll theme moving on. Yup I used to play that track whenever I finished things important like work, a project, etc. Best one is when I played this track on my headphones years ago after quitting an awful job. I walked through downtown with this beat bumping feeling such relief that I was finally done with that shitty daily grind. Man, those where the days.
12:50 that makes perfect sense for Ryu's stage, right? he is the "vanilla" character of the game and street fighter itself. he is the archetype of the balanced, standart character of the entire 2D fighting game genre
Third strike might be greatest video game soundtrack ever. I knew u were going to like Ibukis chill beat and the select player song. I just discovered your page and I can tell you have awesome taste.
Great reaction! I've been playing 3rd Strike for over 20 years, and some of its songs have been on my daily walking/jogging playlist for about as long. This OST is timeless. I'd recommend you give Capcom VS SNK 2, Tekken 5, and Katamari Damacy a listen sometime.
@@deeannchesebro Tekken 2 is awesome but half of the music is pretty meh all things considered, Tekken 3 is also pretty meh for some of them but its is definitely more iconic.
I'm here for you discovering more and more fighting game soundtracks! This is definitely one of my favorites, it has such a unique and cool vibe. You can unlock most of these songs in Street Fighter 6 and I always have them bumping whenever I'm in training mode 😀
Ain't no way right when I was vibin to this hard ass ost, I thought of what your reaction would be and I come to this. W vid and best tracks are "Snowland" and "Killing Moon"
Great video! The whole ethos of the Street Fighter 3 games were to kinda go against the grain so to speak and really do it's own thing compared to what other fighting games, Street Fighter included, were doing both before it and at the time, and 3rd Strike is essentially the epitome of that. It's pretty much why, 25 years later, 3rd Strike and (its soundtrack) still stands out as one of, if not THE, greatest of all time.
God, Third Strike has some of the greatest game music ever. I think everyone HATED this and MVC2's OSTs when they first came out, but they are certified bangers!! I'm glad they have they're amazing reputations now. I have them on in the background all the time! Glad you can always find those Sonic-esqe tones lol 😂

Your channel popped up in my feed after listening to some SF3 a few days ago. You're the first channel I've seen to have genuine reactions to music! Besides vibing, and clearly liking what you're hearing, your comments here and there about music structure are enjoyable! Subbed!
YAY!!! Third Strike music is awesome!! In this vein, you might like Darkstalkers music (Vampire Savior, moreso) Street Fighter Alpha 2 I think is pretty iconic with its soundtrack. if you'd check out any King of Fighters soundtracks, KOF 96, man.
15:41 the reason we're all here 21:20 my favorite song in the game 22:26 secret characters theme with a surprise appearance of your cat Yung and Yang's song is pretty dope, but still doesn't top the Goldeneye Pause Music. Also, what I like about Street Fighter 3, is when you finish a round, the next round is during sunset, if you get to a 3rd round, then the stage is during the night. Not only that, but with each round, the background music gets more and more remixed.
Nice to meet you!I found out about your channel for the first time today. Street Fighter 3 Third Strike is my memorable game, so I'm glad you chose it! Arcade video games from the late 1980s to the 2000s have a lot of great BGM. I hope you can tell me your impressions of those songs^_^
You have to listen to the Street Fighter EX+ Alpha sound track! That's an absolute work of art, and has many big named Japanese Jazz fusion guys playing on it.
oh my god i missed third strike STREET FIGHTER 3! peak, love all of the round transitions in the tracks. Also, Gouki, better known as Akuma, his track is just PERFECT for him. Intense.
You may have since been found this out; (I skimmed the comments but didn't notice it brought up) each big change up in a track marks the start of the next round, thought it perhaps relevant for context and why it might seem disjointed. The prior section would essentially repeat until the round ends, then the change hits at the beginning of the next. They still managed to program the music so that the changes occur in time, so the precise timing of the change could differ slightly between plays. I always found that fascinating. (I'm not a programmer or a composer/musician though!)
The Sonic OVA and Sonic CD music are really starting to break into the "Top Recommendations" category for 90s music in gamer culture. Their retrospective popularity gets bigger every year.
I recently had a Street Fighter 6 tournament, this was my first tournament after a really long time of not participating in one. The character select theme helped me a lot to focus and get me hyped up before each match, it really made me feel like I was about to have the fight of my life. I didn't win but it did wonders for me, and it ended up being my most listened song in my 2024 Spotify Wrapped 😁
Hey! Just found the channel. Glad you enjoyed the 3rd Strike OST. You may also want to check out the R4 (Ridge Racer Type 4) Soundtrack. It's one of my faves and notoriously beloved by fans of the series. Nothing quite hits like it does. Keep up the good work.
@@marquez1333 Ridge Racer 4 Soundtrack is absolute Video Game OST PEAK! I have a hard time choosing which is better Jet Set Radio Future or RR4, as best OST of all time.
This is the first video I saw of yours, and it was pretty cool to enjoy the Third Strike OST in full with someone who's never heard it before. You would be feeling Jet Set Radio Future OST, for SURE!
Oooo this is the kind of content we need more of with fighting games. I feel like you would love Tekken soundtracks. Especially from the games that came out in the early to late 2000s (the golden era imo) Fighting games have some of the best music in gaming period.
Third Strike is wildly regarded as the best street fighter game in the series. So happy for your reaction! My favorite is of course jazzy inc ‘99. That’s Ken & Alex stage!
Well, I don't even know why am I here but I'm so glad you're able to appreciate the AMAZING soundtrack of 3S. Both arcade and this arranged soundtracks are masterpieces in my opinion since Hideki Okugawa and Infinite put so much love in genres like house, trip hop, drum'n'base, acid jazz, jazz, hip-hop all in a sweet soundtrack. Sadly you missed some cool parts of the soundtrack like the samba/batucada bit in The Longshoreman or the THIS IS A STUPID DOPE MIX in Your Blow My Mind (which is my favorite from this soundtrack). Check out some live band ensembles who put some live versions of these tracks like Jazzy NYC '99 and girl, they're gonna blow your mind! There's some real cool stuff out there for cover bands of this already awesome soundtrack. Glad I was able to stumble upon here and glad you enjoyed this soundtrack.
The composer is Hideki Okugawa and he has a great portfolio of VGM. Did work in some other Street Fighter titles as well. If you look him up you'll find some gems, and some remixes like Ken/Alex's NYC stage.
Thanks for reacting to Third Strike❤ Since you liked Buck Bumble there's a similar OST that has Drum&Bass and Acid Techno. Their name: Bomberman Hero💣😩❤️
YES! You lend your ear to an OST of a fighting game. SFIII is awesome. Just a quick tidbit, the build ups to the songs are placed at the start of the 2nd round to spike up the momentum of the fight which is a powerful way of hyping up the player’s experience. 2 more things. I can’t believe I never made the connection between SFIII and Knuckles 🤦♂️ You should definitely listen to the OST of R4: Ridge Racer Type 4 music. A racing game widely known for its soundtrack. I think it’s up your alley. IMO, “Pearl Blue Soul” and “Move Me” are to that game what Dudley’s theme is to SFIII. ✌️ 🎶 🎷
Great video! I'm glad that you had the chance to listen to the Third Strike OST, which just might be the best fighting game score of all time. There was one big selection that was missing - the "Theme of Gill" which is the music for the last boss of 3rd Strike. I'm n9t sure why it was missing from the album, but it is fantastic. Also, the way the game was designed, each stage had three parts of every song, with each section growing in intensity. I know the you were probably tight on time, but for most of the tracks you listened to, you reached the second parts of most of the songs. Some of the third sections are incredible and if you check it out again in full on your own time, I hope you enjoy them. Last but not least, if you're taking suggestions for future OSTe to check out, SNK (another prominent Fighting Game developer in the 90's) had legendary scores for their games. The coolest thing about them, though, was that they often released Arranged OST for their arcade games. The Original OSTs were limited by the arcade boards they would use, but the Arranged OST were actual studio musicians playing the same tracks, which hit far harder than the OG versions. They would use the Arranged versions when they released their games on CD format as well. Some of the best ones are The King of Fighters '95, '96 & '98 for starters. The Arranged version of Real Bout Fatal Fury (or Real Bout Garou Densetsu in Japanese) is extra special as well ("Pandora no Hako yori Dai 1ban 'Sogu' - Jin Chonshu" is legendary). Thanks for reading and I'm glad to be a new sub here. Looking forward to what you check out next!
A really cool touch i haven't seen anyone bring up. For several of these songs, the second half of them only starts after someone wins the first round. It's most noticeble with Kobu, as the first half will loop until someone wins the first round, then the beat will drop as Round 2 begins. And let me tell you, it's absolutely magical every time. It almost feels like a wake up clock "hey, you've got only one round left, so get a grip." Im pretty sure China Vox, Crowded Street and Killing Moon do the same thing, but i am not 100% sure.
I relate very much to your appreciation for sexy bass and tasty chord progression 🤩 happy holidays Also the BSB (Bulbasaur Safety Brigade) is pleased with this update
I believe the "high-quality" version of the OSTs you mention at 11:57 are the arranged versions The arranged versions don't appear in-game and actually have some slight compositional differences (most noticeable on Urien's theme) Unfortunately the actual in-game OST just sounds really compressed and low quality The reason why is that in 3rd Strike they added a bunch of new characters, which actually caused the devs to start running up against storage limits If you go back to the previous game (2nd Impact), the OST is noticeably higher quality, and the stage backgrounds are also much more dynamic and detailed
@@RiotEXE Glad someone else said it. The arrange music being used in-game in the Dreamcast, PS2/Xbox Anniversary Collection, and PS3/Xbox360 3rd Strike Online ports were really what helped popularize Third Strike's soundtrack. The original (a.k.a. arcade) music was not very popular when the game was first released. Just about every single retrospective I've seen of people talking about how great Third Strike's music was always refer to the arrange soundtrack, and almost never the original. This video is another exhibit of that.
Omgggg you described every song so well! There were some skips I never listened to like Q’s stage but you got me to the good parts and now I’m sampling some of the songs in my DJ set🙊 I love this vid thank you for reviewing the soundtrack!!

he is the "vanilla" character of the game and street fighter itself. he is the archetype of the balanced, standart character of the entire 2D fighting game genre
Third strike might be greatest video game soundtrack ever. I knew u were going to like Ibukis chill beat and the select player song. I just discovered your page and I can tell you have awesome taste.
I grew up enjoying video game music like this. I love watching people appreciate it too
Great reaction! I've been playing 3rd Strike for over 20 years, and some of its songs have been on my daily walking/jogging playlist for about as long. This OST is timeless. I'd recommend you give Capcom VS SNK 2, Tekken 5, and Katamari Damacy a listen sometime.
The menu theme was my #1 song on Spotify wrapped and jazzy nyc was #3 and the character select screen was #5 😂 I absolutely love this soundtrack.
I always loved that Akuma’s music, the flutes sound like a wolf howling.
What a banger OST. Fighting games have some great OST's! I'm glad you're taking a look at my favorite genre!!
Fun fact people still play this game online to this day and you can still find matches regularly on fightcade over 25 years later
I still play ranked matches over PSN on my PS3!
My goodness, that Dudley theme song makes me want to put on my most expensive clothes and do a run way in my living room
LET'S FIGHT LIKE GENTLEMEN!!!
lol
SNOWLAND is PEAK. The midi sax, the breaks, its everything.
bro that song is perfect. the breaks they use in this game have never been so good literally perfection
Tekken Tag Torunament 1 soundtrack is definitely something you’d enjoy I believe
The opening theme is one of my all-time favorites.
Nah tekken 2 if your gunna go suggesting stuff
People sleep on the TTT1 ost its so underrated
@@deeannchesebro Tekken 2 is awesome but half of the music is pretty meh all things considered, Tekken 3 is also pretty meh for some of them but its is definitely more iconic.
I said the same thing lol, glad to see other people appreciate Tag 1. It’s more groovy and rhythmic than any other Tekken ost
my god , the feeling of hearing jazzy NYC for the first time!!! i had the same reaction you had lol :))
I loved Jazzy NYC ever since I was a kid. Killing Moon is my favorite, though.
Happen to find this on the algorithm, clicked in a heart beat. It thrills me to find ppl listening to music or talk about stage and gove their own opinions.
Enjoyed every second. Have a list of themes for u to listen too thatll have your ears cravin
The King of Fighters
Fatal Fury/Garou
Tekken
Midway era Mortal Kombat
DBZ Budokai/Budokai Tenkaichi

A lot of great song for this Game
Remenber the Dreamcast.

The time capsule of video game DnB from the late 90's/early 00's is a niche I can never shake.
I don't remember the last time I pressed subscribe without debating about it. Excellent content. Third Strike is such a special soundtrack.
you are so lucky, I would love to hear Jazzy NYC for the first time again
Oh my goodness,
This is one of my all time favorite soundtracks.
It means so much that you took time to listen.
Thank you 🙏
Your channel popped up in my feed after listening to some SF3 a few days ago. You're the first channel I've seen to have genuine reactions to music! Besides vibing, and clearly liking what you're hearing, your comments here and there about music structure are enjoyable!
Subbed!
I like akuma theme. It's very smooth authentic😊. I like Elena with beats in my head also.
There’s an extended version of the staff roll with another rap that is definitely worth listening to. I’m surprised the list didn’t have that one
YAY!!!
Third Strike music is awesome!!
In this vein, you might like Darkstalkers music (Vampire Savior, moreso)
Street Fighter Alpha 2 I think is pretty iconic with its soundtrack.
if you'd check out any King of Fighters soundtracks, KOF 96, man.
15:41 the reason we're all here
21:20 my favorite song in the game
22:26 secret characters theme with a surprise appearance of your cat
Yung and Yang's song is pretty dope, but still doesn't top the Goldeneye Pause Music.
Also, what I like about Street Fighter 3, is when you finish a round, the next round is during sunset, if you get to a 3rd round, then the stage is during the night. Not only that, but with each round, the background music gets more and more remixed.
We here for the Dudley’s the main menu and character select and the validation that this is the best menu music lol
THE BEES IN MY HAIR
i cant tell whether to be disappointed that youve never heard this before or thankful that you enjoyed it as much as you did
Nice to meet you!I found out about your channel for the first time today.
Street Fighter 3 Third Strike is my memorable game, so I'm glad you chose it!
Arcade video games from the late 1980s to the 2000s have a lot of great BGM.
I hope you can tell me your impressions of those songs^_^
この時代に3rdの曲聞いてくれるのは日本人として嬉しいです!
This is my type of channel. Instant subscribe
Thanks!!
This ost and second impacts are legendary. Please do second impact after!
You have to listen to the Street Fighter EX+ Alpha sound track! That's an absolute work of art, and has many big named Japanese Jazz fusion guys playing on it.
Battleapple joining us in the FGC is a huge win
The game said "Select your Groove" and she said "This is my Groove".
oh my god i missed third strike
STREET FIGHTER 3! peak, love all of the round transitions in the tracks. Also, Gouki, better known as Akuma, his track is just PERFECT for him. Intense.
Street Fighter EX2 ost would take you for a literal ride! Playstation version specifically though lol arcade version sounded like a dying cow
YES
Sounds like game show music
Yessss
The EX Series was trash, idk why people liked that game, every character had the same normals it was such a terrible game.
@gloriamartinez-lg8ol youre such a terrible game
You may have since been found this out; (I skimmed the comments but didn't notice it brought up) each big change up in a track marks the start of the next round, thought it perhaps relevant for context and why it might seem disjointed. The prior section would essentially repeat until the round ends, then the change hits at the beginning of the next. They still managed to program the music so that the changes occur in time, so the precise timing of the change could differ slightly between plays. I always found that fascinating. (I'm not a programmer or a composer/musician though!)
Sonic OVA OST is next trust me ! 90’s vibes
VGM on Spotify Wrapped is awesome 🙌🏻
We need to show her king of fighters! She will love iori’s theme! I also recommend tekken 3 and tekken 4. Tekken 4 has a dark atmosphere
Arashi no saxophone
in Tekken 4 for my favorite music is the one when you're on top of the roof
Oooo this is the kind of content we need more of with fighting games. I feel like you would love Tekken soundtracks. Especially from the games that came out in the early to late 2000s (the golden era imo) Fighting games have some of the best music in gaming period.
Third Strike is wildly regarded as the best street fighter game in the series. So happy for your reaction! My favorite is of course jazzy inc ‘99. That’s Ken & Alex stage!
The creator of guilty gear agrees with you
Well, I don't even know why am I here but I'm so glad you're able to appreciate the AMAZING soundtrack of 3S.
I recommend checking out tekken music. They got a lot of bangers! 😃
Back with another banger🔥
The composer is Hideki Okugawa and he has a great portfolio of VGM. Did work in some other Street Fighter titles as well. If you look him up you'll find some gems, and some remixes like Ken/Alex's NYC stage.
Thanks for reacting to Third Strike❤
Since you liked Buck Bumble there's a similar OST that has Drum&Bass and Acid Techno.
I can’t believe I never made the connection between SFIII and Knuckles 🤦♂️
You should definitely listen to the OST of R4: Ridge Racer Type 4 music. A racing game widely known for its soundtrack. I think it’s up your alley.
IMO, “Pearl Blue Soul” and “Move Me” are to that game what Dudley’s theme is to SFIII. ✌️ 🎶 🎷
So glad my mom bought me R4 back in the day. That soundtrack SLAPS to this day. She'd definitely like some of the selections on there.
Great video. Glad you enjoyed the soundtrack!
I relate very much to your appreciation for sexy bass and tasty chord progression 🤩 happy holidays
Also the BSB (Bulbasaur Safety Brigade) is pleased with this update
I believe the "high-quality" version of the OSTs you mention at 11:57 are the arranged versions
The arranged versions don't appear in-game and actually have some slight compositional differences (most noticeable on Urien's theme)
Unfortunately the actual in-game OST just sounds really compressed and low quality
The reason why is that in 3rd Strike they added a bunch of new characters, which actually caused the devs to start running up against storage limits
If you go back to the previous game (2nd Impact), the OST is noticeably higher quality, and the stage backgrounds are also much more dynamic and detailed
The Arranged versions were in the Dreamcast & PS2 ports. The Arcade originals are weirdly compressed though, like you said.
I prefer the compressed originals
You should listen to Hideki Naganuma music. He has worked on Sonic Rush, Jet Set Radio, Bomb Rush Cyberfunk, Lethal League Blaze and the Yakuza series. Very catchy. Very FUNKAAAAAY
He worked on Yakuza also? huh did not know that
@@jujujustherefr He did yes but only like a couple of tracks I think. There's a game called Victor Heat Rally and the music reminds me of Hideki Naganuma a lot! Worth checking out if you're into his style of music and it's a pretty cool indie game too
