I was just thinking about that. He crashed out on the last lap, and everyone remembers that. But for him to be in 2nd he had to follow Franchitti on a pass on Dixon. As a long time NASCAR fan who has been watching Indycar the last few years it's head and shoulders above any other motorsport right now.
It's really good to see. It's a long shot but I'd love to see Indycar return to the level of following it had in the late 90s.
Have you heard about f1, f2, f3, e formula, rally or le mans?

Rossi not winning the 500 since his debut really doesn't tell the full story. What a driver he really is.

Seeing this reminded me why Schekter was my favorite indy driver until Sato to town.
Alexander Rossi is my favorite driver and moments like these show why. Fearless
Great job mate. Schekter in 2011 was exactly what I thought of it and I never expect that people remember it.
DAMN, I miss T-Sheck!

This is one of the most awesome videos on RUclips. I love IndyCar!
Tomas Scheckter was a mad man.
Scheckter's moves are some of the best moves I have ever seen in motorsports.
Tomas Scheckter shouldn't have gotten away with half the shit he got away with. Though I suppose he didn't considering how many DNF's he racked up.
That pass at Indy was the highlight of that season for him
@@lonewolf2513 which year? Lol
I’d add an outside pass by Victor Miera on Dixon near the end of the 2008 race. He BARELY cleared Carpenter. It was nuts!
That RHR pass on Helio at the end of the 2014 race will never be forgotten.
Say what you will about the old Dallara IR-05, it certainly made for some good side-by-side racing in the corners at Indy.
And races at 1.5 mile ovals were absolutely spectacular

Rossi and Schekter rock the marbles.
Those poor sods standing between the pit walls. I would shit myself!
I think the bravest one wasn't successful, Sato trying to stick in turn one in 2012 even though there was no chance.
Tomas Scheckter was sometimes too aggressive for his own good. Had he dialed it down a notch, the success he would have enjoyed.
