We don’t necessarily do that. But I think that, what I found, or what I have been told in trying to figure out what it is all about is that people really relate to this band because it is kinda extension of a personality or for personalities and I think people look for that and people like seeing themselves and relating to people and I think that people just relate to us and they relate to the things we talk about and its all delivered in what I suppose is considered to be infections pop music and all these kids at the moment are living out their lives. I'm a huge fan. I'm 45. This reminds me of the pop I grew up listening to. Good stuff. I introduced my 10 year old daughter to their music and now I get to take her with me to see them in concert in a couple of weeks. It'll be her first concert. I'm sooo excited!!

Wow, my mom is the opposite, she refuses to accept that she likes anything new, so when I played Chocolate in the car, she asked what the band was and then kept a straight face for the rest of the ride (how I can tell she liked it). But good for you, hope you had a great time! :)
Maybe a 10-11 year old shouldn't be listening to a bad with most of their songs being about suicide, drugs, depression, and sed

i absolutely love this "famdom" or whatever you want to call it. everyone here is so chill and i love it.
i think thats one of the reasons why i love their music. the people that are attracted to this music really, we just get it.

"...remain true to their music and their style" Imagine being an artist and being forced to stick to a certain genre or style of music. I think you should you make music that sounds good to you and not worry about an old fan leaving nasty comments because he doesn't like the change.

notforprofittho so true. the best thing about following a band you love is listening them mature with their writing and playing. the moment they start forcing/bullshitting their music to 'adapt' to what's hot...that's the beginning of the end.

One of the first bands I really had an emotional connection with. I listened to them heavily when I was in a dark place; listening to their songs and looking back on photos and videos I took when I saw them in London, reminds me how strong this band makes me. I will always thank matty and the boys for being there for me even though they'll never know of my existance😂

I only just recently got into The 1975 when I heard that they're coming to my city next year, songs are pretty good, the crowd and energy looks amazing! I've been to a few concerts recently, and let's just say all you see is a sea of phones, it gets annoying, but this looks really cool! I might go next year to see them!
when mattys voice is high quality, it is just perfection and what he is saying is so true, they relate and interact with us(their fans) in so many ways and thats what makes this band so special

I can't believe this was 5 years ago. I not only adore their music, but they've gotten me through some very hard times in the past five years.
I love the 1975. I'm 59 but still a "kid" TRANSLATED - nit and happily so.
I love this band so much. This band brings me back. When I play their music it's like a time machine. The 1975 brings me back to a simple time. This is why they will make it big. There different. Instead of playing commercialized pop music heard on the radio all the time, or putting on the metaphorical masks that mainstream singers where today, they aren't afraid to be who they are. They don't conform to the way they want to be looked at as a band. They aren't afraid to be who they are, play what they want, and do what they want unlike other artists who play what is considered the new fad. I think the 1975 is the new fad. There taking us back to a time when artists and the music they put out weren't so commercialized for the sake of money. The 1975 want there music to be different. They don't want it to be "like other music" in the way that it is so commercialized and overused now. They want music to be like it used to, back when artist didn't change their ways because the critics thought they were too bland or their music wasn't catchy enough. There not afraid to stay true to there roots. To me that's what it's really all about.

god the start of this was just to beautiful it had me in tears, the 1975 is just so perfect it is beyond words and its a perfect soundtrack to everyone's life as a teenager tbh and everything Matty said was just absolutely true which is what I love about them is that they get us as not only fans but as a person.
