I swear, Ember and Wade are just perfect for each other in so many ways imaginable. Their love is just so powerful throughout this entire movie, when they hold hands and kiss, my heart literally melted. I was just in complete awe. @@GalaxyGeeksYou’re welcome. Means a lot that you appreciate my comment so thank you. Loved your reaction, by the way. Wishing you both the very best in the future. ❤️👍
I'm so happy elemental has been getting the recognition it deserves. It was politicized on arrival and opened poorly thanks to bad marketing, but it's a wonderful film that truly speaks to the immigrant experience and I'm only sad that so many people missed out experiencing it in theaters.❤
This movie reminds me so much of me an my husband when it comes to the emotional dynamic. I actually never realized how much he calms me down and how much we balance each other's emotions before this film.
Fun fact: Ember and Wade being able to touch is based in real-life science. It's called the Leidenfrost effect which is when water like Wade touches a hot surface like Ember and a layer of steam is created which acts as an insulator for Wade, preventing him from vaporizing and by extension, Ember from getting extinguished.
I am so glad you two enjoyed this film too. My best friend and I saw it together and we both loved it. Anyway, when you wondered why Ember's glass dam broke, I thought of one of two reasons why. Even though Gale said it was solid as a rock 1) It couldn't handle the amount of water from the canal. Or 2) The Glass dam was somehow connected to Ember's emotional state. At the same time it started breaking, Ember was set to take over the shop, (even though she already confessed to Wade she didn't want to) and so she had to say goodbye to her chances of ever becoming a glassmaker and Wade. And that broke her heart. Coincidently, from the moment her heart broke, the dam broke.
Honestly first off thank you for commenting and enjoying the reaction it really does make us feel amazing:) and i also agree completely that thats most likely why the glass broke. :) This movie is absolutely so beautiful :)
Hey i understand completely. But one thing im happy we were able to change our minds on this movie. we werent a fan first time watching but we love it now:)
Agreed It’s huge comeback at the box office was well deserved, especially for a film that wasn’t based on an existing IP or sequel. It’s now Pixar’s highest grossing post pandemic film
Honestly I love hearing the reason why Ember's parents left their homeland. My maternal grandparents left the Philippines and my paternal great great great grandparents left Scotland to come to America for a better life because of the hardships they endured in the past. I'm grateful they did what they knew what was best for them and their kids. I hope to one day visit where my family came from one day and learn about the cultures I came from.
I absolutely love elemental. I’m so happy you guys did a reaction to this movie. I wonder what other movies that you’re going to do reactions to I’m so glad elemental made 300+ million at the box office.
Loved your reactions to this gem! It’s now my favorite Pixar film in a long time, and the first in a while to really hit me in the feels. PS This is just a guess but I feel the glass dam cracked because of Ember’s emotions running wild. Notice when she cries in the shop, the crack starts to form. Then when she gets angry at Wade at the party it cracks even more. And finally when she nearly throws the glass and gets angry again the next day (and says “why can’t I be a good daughter?” the dam fully shatters.
Maybe the glass cracked because of the hammer hitting it. But the timing was representing/ metaphor to her losing patience and her emotions surfacing/breaking through the dam, at the beginning she sealed them off and she sealed the dam, she learned to control the emotions but now she started shutting down her emotions for the good of her father. The dam broke when she couldn't hold them in anymore, earlier she regularly let emotions out
I absolutely loved this movie. Saw this movie in theaters and I really loved it, I’m so glad that this movie went well. I can’t wait to see it again on Disney plus or getting on Blue-ray.
I suspect Ember and Wade's real world race equivalents would be Korean-American and Black respectively. That would make the hot coals the store serves the equivalent of kimchi.
Actually, if you listen carefully to some of the Fire people background characters you'd hear that some of them have accents more similar to how certain black people speak, especially the fire guy that runs the store in the end, it's subtle but it's there. Wade I believe would be more typical for a white family but like a very progressive white family. Like the area they live in isn't just water people but also seems to have eartha dn air people around so its seems like a very mixed apartment complex that probably fosters alot of natural compassion between elements.
I relayed to this movie in the way that Ember feels she’s being a bad daughter for wanting to be with someone she’s been taught not to be with. I’m a bisexual. And I felt that on a very personal level. A great story that gives light to so many subjects :)
It's a good thing I didn't look at reviews before I watched Elemental in 3-D, since I wanted to see it for myself and I'm glad I did. I watched it two days after it came out in theaters. I think I wanted to see it on opening night, but my brother wanted to watch the other movie that it came out on the same day.
@@GalaxyGeeks Thanks, I've seen it five times in theaters and wanted to go for sixth time, but they stopped showing it after I just got back on where I live.
I think the reason people like it better on rewatch is that you can make your own comments, you don't have to hear others in the background like in a theater and like you said the first time you read too much into it at first watch and on rewatch you feel like you know what to expect and you notice much more than you noticed before
Honestly, Elemental is my favorite Disney/Pixar movie and I’m glad it’s finally getting the love it deserves and I’m glad you guys gave it another chance!
My boyfriend and I (almost exactly like Ember and Wade) kissed passionately when the movie was over and everyone was getting up to leave. This movie just touched our hearts and really reminded us of our love for each other, we couldn't help it. People were staring but we didn't give a sh**.
Can I say how much “What the hecc is going on??” Burnie moments there are? Like we got Wade and his mom saying goodbye, Amber making Wade cry to make him come back- It’s just hilarious Also Cinder’s smol lil fast feet is funny as hell to me
Honestly, I feel like when it was released, the movie only really got flamed (pardon the horrible pun) was because when it was released, it had such high expectations. I feel like now that some time has passed, the movie will be shown in a new and better light as the year wraps up.
Elemental is a great movie as a whole. Its very basic in its themes an subplots as many of the things that happen in the movie can be very easily traced from various other movies the deal with the same themes but as their main plot and it is really basic in how it represents these issues but they have somehow used incredible artistic story telling to seamlessly combine everything into one of the better animated movies in a long time, probably one of the best in my own opinion. I can only wish in my dreams that theres a Television re telling of the movie because theres enough subplots that could be explored in this unique movie that i could easily imagine a 6-10 episode televison series.
Let's not forget. They have been dealing with the water for least a days( as far as I know). If word got out that the shop has been concealing a major life or least injury risk for the fire customers, his reputation will tank! Even if they managed to pay back everything they took apart and put it back to its original self as possible, the trust will be gone! No one would dare to shop there again, putting it in the red if not outright out of business overnight.
I feel like fire and earth can be together. It will just burn their hair off since the only flammable thing they have on them is their plant hair. The rest of this is dirt, rock, and crystal.
Also a fine detail that's easier to notice in the credit panels than during the movie is Clauds Girlfriend is wearing gloves which is why she can hold his flowers
I watch this once and i loved it with my family. I watched two times more since i bought it on my phone, i relate to ember not cause of feeling left out, but wanted to due better but failing to do so. For her she's been trying for my, i lack the want to. I like how this feels more genuine of a message conpared to most other movies, to where it kinda forced to happen. Peope conplain about the science behind this while im like " are you a water person?? No?? Then dont question it. It exist for them, its their science. Not ours".
Honestly, i belive this should of been Pixars attempt at a television series, like a 6-10 episode series cause the movie has so many elements (pun absolutely intended) that would work incredibly in a televised series, like the segregation of the fire people because of the Elemental incompatibility but also because they where the last Elemental race to join Elemental City so of course its gonna be tough to integrate this physical incompatible race inside their already built and developed city. Also the subplot of wade and his father and their forever unresolved issues and how wade was very aimless before meeting Ember. Also the love story of Claud and his little girlfriend. It could also explore more about the traditions of the various elements as the fire people can't be the only elements with old traditions.
I was the Pun Queen in theatre. I cracked a lot of puns with me and my pun buddy and didn’t care how much it annoyed the club Hahahahaha, those were the good days

I think that with this modern day in entertainment that everything has to be perfect and amazing and that it can be dissected to be enjoyed. I think that a lot of people forgot how to just enjoy the moment, enjoy things even if they aren’t enormously special or grand. Just be here and now and not here to be hateful.
Did you guys see that almost everyone of your most popular shorts is elemental it shows how popular the movie really was even though it didn’t do amazing lol
She seems so confident in helping her dad, I don't see why sh gets all clammedd up and don't know if she can run the store because he r whoe life she was preparing to run the shop
@GalaxyGeeks at home you can talk. Make jokes and have a more enjoyable time. Also theater is expensive and for me adlest unless it's like a 8/10 movie adlest I won't go. There are plenty of good movies I call a b rated movie. They have value but I wouldn't go into the theater anymore.
Liking because I really liked it in the theater and you guys gave me a means to watch it again until I buy it myself. My family and I really liked this movie.
I think we were so harsh on this movie. Wish was such a step DOWN after this one. Even lightyear was more entertaining than wish. Ember's bow to her dad was such a cherry on top. I feel exactly like wade on that part. He should have cried too.
I don't know if anyone else mentioned this, but on the usbject of their clothes not getting set on fire: Pay close attention to the dad's pants, and Ember's dress(es), everything the fire people wear is made of metal. Her dad wears chainmail pants for Pete's sake.
“Tell your parents” not unless their elementalist. Even if you tell, he’s still going to be super prejudiced and will hurt you while thinking he’s doing you a favor. Some secrets must exist for your own health.
One thing I think a lot of people misinterpret about this film is the fact that the story appears to be centered more on xenophobia and the inherent clashing/"watering down" of cultures that come as a result of immigration, rather than the racism and prejudice that the oft-compared Zootopia focused on. They're similar topics, don't get me wrong, but from what I've seen, most of the conflict between characters and the layout of the city seemed to stem more from cultural misunderstandings/differences than anything inherently malignant. Of course, this is coming from my perspective as a second-generation immigrant.

I think that a lot of people forgot how to just enjoy the moment, enjoy things even if they aren’t enormously special or grand. Just be here and now and not here to be hateful.
I love your guy’s vids
Thank you so Much!!!!!
Did you guys see that almost everyone of your most popular shorts is elemental it shows how popular the movie really was even though it didn’t do amazing lol
Photos from photo booth is fireproof I guess.
She seems so confident in helping her dad, I don't see why sh gets all clammedd up and don't know if she can run the store because he r whoe life she was preparing to run the shop
When ember was sad she looked like a cat 🐱🤨😭😭
Wet cat
How lewd, they're holding hands!
It's fun to watch at home but isn't a theater movie
honestly I get that completely.
I get that completely and I don't blame you at all :)@@Ms_Sarrus
This film broke history it started out as a flop but then became a success
Liking because I really liked it in the theater and you guys gave me a means to watch it again until I buy it myself. My family and I really liked this movie.
Her glass blowing skills are cool
The question is who made the hole on the doors in the first place?
I like how the mother is all like LOVE LOVE I SMELL LOVE and the the father all like #### you water guy
I was a little concerned she was gonna put her self out with that sneeze at 2:39
I think we were so harsh on this movie.
I guess you could say it's all Water under the bridge
You know what this movie was hate bombed for no reason
Not sure if anyone explained the toot toot wind breaker thing but breaking wind is farting and toot toot is like the sound of a fart.
This isn’t out yet tho?
I really want Elemental 2-3-4 thats really awesome movie
3:05 to 3:08 That was me and dad when I was younger
“Tell your parents” not unless their elementalist. Even if you tell, he’s still going to be super prejudiced and will hurt you while thinking he’s doing you a favor. Some secrets must exist for your own health.
I dont know if it’s bc I’m child of immigrants but her parents leaving is the same reason most people leave the idea of more and better opportunities
It’s on 17?
One thing I think a lot of people misinterpret about this film is the fact that the story appears to be centered more on xenophobia and the inherent clashing/"watering down" of cultures that come as a result of immigration, rather than the racism and prejudice that the oft-compared Zootopia focused on. They're similar topics, don't get me wrong, but from what I've seen, most of the conflict between characters and the layout of the city seemed to stem more from cultural misunderstandings/differences than anything inherently malignant. Of course, this is coming from my perspective as a second-generation immigrant.
It was sad that wade was crying
39:29 water fish ok where’s the fire fish
haha i know right!
