    Oh Kay go for something very simple out of the jeans such as a tote bag/ back pack or bucket hat don’t get too stressed over a big project. Love your video xxxxx

      @shelleykearney4864 Hi Shelley, that does sound a good idea! I've still got a bucket hat on my list, to use my lovely flowery fabric from last month's sew Hayley Jane box. I could use the denim on one side and the flower fabric on the other 🥰. Thank you for the suggestion 😘😘😘

      @sheelaghheugh9152 oh that's good to know 👍. I think I need to make it up in 'proper' fabric first, before I attempt it in cut up jeans. But it's been on my list for ages 🥰

    I love the oversized sleeves. The whole jacket is oversized so that matches. Your catwalk presentation was really funny. Don't mind your irregular uploads, but keep it up. You cheer me up. I would make the skirt from the jeans, that would be lovely

      @pinkderdlesews  Месяц назад +1

      So glad you loved my spectacular modelling 😅😅😅. I'm getting used to the sleeves and yes, the whole thing is oversized so you are right, the sleeves would probably look weird if they were skinny. I think the skirt is coming out on top so far, it would be so useful

      @chrissycrompton7585 thank you. I always like to see how they actually turn out too. It does feel very big, but I think once it gets colder, it will be perfect for snuggling into. I've got the feeling it's going to take me most of the month to decide what to do 🤔🥰😆

    Great jacket - I also have the same pattern and it does look very oversized. I’d make the Ilford jacket with the jeans - the utility style of the ‘chore’ jacket suits a denim. Would be a good one for dog walking which is basically how I decide what to sew!

    • @pinkderdlesews
      @pinkderdlesews  Месяц назад +1

      @sarahmay3307 thank you, I think it's going to be perfect for snuggling into when it gets chilly. I've made the Ilford a few times now, so at least I'd know what I was doing. And a dog walking jacket ticks a box or two for me 😁

      @rosemarybravo5348 thank you so much, that's very encouraging to hear 🥰. I'm planning to make another jacket in a lighter fabric, maybe a linen, so I'll definitely go down a size for that. And the sleeves would have to be a bit narrower in a lighter fabric, or I'll be catching them on every door handle in the house 😁😁😁

    Great vlog as always. Love your drop shoulder top, I’ve made so many of these, some without the sleeves and a cuff added on, I made some in stretch as well. Your jacket is great the colour really suits you. I think the Ilford would look great in the denim but equally the skirt would look great as well

    • @pinkderdlesews
      @pinkderdlesews  Месяц назад +1

      Hi Angela, thank you so much. I love that drop shoulder pattern and really excited that you've made a stretch one - I'm definitely going to give that a go. I'm still dithering about the denim make. I've not got a lot of skirts, so I think it might be the skirt, which will be a nice summer make, but will go through to winter too. Oh decisions, decisions!

    I really like you jacket. It looks lovely on you and I agree, a button on the front would be nice. I made a jacket out of jeans once. It was called the upside down jacket because you use the waistband of the jeans for the waistband of the jacket which means the legs go up when you are cutting out the jacket. Have fun with your next challenge, can't wait to see what you do.

    I made the jacket in a dusky pink lightweight wool …. Nice jacket but I gave it to a friend who is 3 sizes larger than myself and it fits her a treat! Agree, it’s very oversize … yours is too but looks very wearable on you a few seasons away and weirdly, I’ve also made the Avid Seamstress blazer … that was too tight 🫤

      @deniseblake6214 I think my jacket will be perfect in the chilly weather. It is oversized but I'm getting used to it 😁. Interesting that your blazer was too tight, I'll make sure that if I make that, I'll be wary! I usually use independent patterns and find they can be a bit on the tight side, but I've just sewed up 3 patterns from 'the big four', and they have all come up huge 🤷‍♀️.

      @@pinkderdlesews I think the blazer feels tighter than it actually is because it is designed to just meet at the front and not button up but it is still very snug …. Agree with you re. Big Four, usually a bit big
