I love the tie dress but the fabric choice can make or break it. I’ve got a lovely green one in viscose linen that I wear a lot and another in white & blue cotton that will be handy if I need a hospital stay over 🤨🤣🤣
I made the tie dress and it’s a lovely dress! Just one thing - don’t do what I did if you alter the length and not adjust the side panels! The bodice has shorten/lengthen lines but the side panels didn’t!! Look forward to seeing what you make x
@@makeitsew2023 oh thanks for the tip Mandy! I’m debating whether to shorten the top slightly. How did you find the fit? I’m thinking to size down a bit as it seems like it might be quite oversized?! 🤔
@@lovesredsews it’s supposed to be a relaxed fit but I did size down and think I could have sized down further for top half as find the sleeves slip off my shoulders a bit, depending which way I gave the ties and necklines! X
Finally watched your vlog and this is such a great idea doing the Sewing Bee challenges but without the time limits! Looking forward to seeing your make 😊😊!
Ooh, that looks lovely, Claire. I love how everyone is trying to make sure their donee gets something they are comfortable with style-wise. Looking forward to seeing your final make! X
Great pattern Claire. It was my most worn dress on holiday. I made both of mine in fine linen viscose and love them. Sara from Sewing Therapy also has a patchwork one which I am going to try to recreate. I agree with you the best way to wear is tied at the sides. Can't wait to see yours.X
Morning Claire. I’ve been following Steph for a while now and really enjoy her vlogs. Great comments from other viewers regarding the pattern and while I haven’t sewn anything from this company I have always enjoyed their aesthetic. Looking forward to seeing your finished garment.
👏🏻👗
It sounds like a great challenge. I love the pattern and can’t wait to see your chosen fabric, and the finished dress...

@@Julie_sews_her_own_clothes 🤣🤣🤣 yes I saw Sarah’s blog about her blue & white stripe one. I think I’ll steer clear on one like that 😆
So happy you like the pattern :)
Pencil is for fabric. I should have said, sorry :,)
@@knotsandneedlescrafts it’s fab, I am planning what fabric to use now 😀

@@makeitsew2023 ok, thanks for the info. That’s helpful. My shoulders are quite narrow. I think I will size down by 2 sizes x
