I have made two pairs of the Seamwork Dorian shorts. I particularly like the elastic placement at the sides rather than across the back. The instructions are very good, making the insertion of the fly zip really straight forward. Because I love the fit of these shorts I intend to lengthen them to make trousers. I absolutely love the fabrics you have shown us this week.

What sort of fabric did you use for them?
@@lovesredsews I have used a linen for both pairs of my Dorian shorts and I lengthened them by 3 inches.(just my preference) I wore them in Spain 2 weeks ago and they were so comfortable.

Hi 😊 Lots of gorgeous fabrics that suit your colouring so well. I really enjoy watching your channel. I try to only buy fabric when I have a specific project planned which I must confess, I am starting to find a bit limiting. I like your idea of only purchasing 2 - 3 fabrics per month and it will be interesting to see how you find this approach. Happy sewing. 🌸

Hi, I love that denim floral fabric, if you ever downloaded the Love notions Glissando trousers/jeans they would be an excellent choice for your shorts. They have a full belly option and the pockets double up as a kind of support over the belly as they continue across to the zip. I’ve made a couple of pairs which I love and I’m pretty sure there’s a hack which takes out the darts and elasticities the back waistband too. The pattern is pretty true to size and doesn’t cut into the tops of your legs like some jeans shorts patterns. There are so many different things you can make from the pattern it’s definitely worth getting.

the Nerida Hansen jersey is beautiful, I bought the green version and made a Galaxy T (pattern, scissors, cloth) which has lovely puff sleeves, I can get it out of a metre, the free Vera top by Papercut patterns has nice details, also the Whitcombe top by Sew Love patterns - lots of jersey and woven options and combinations. Looking forward to seeing the Fleur top, I like the idea of functioning ties.

I think most of us are guilty of buying lots of fabric 😅 but you've chosen some beautiful ones there so I don't think anyone can blame you! As for tee-shirts, my go to is the Pattern Emporium Keep it Simple Babe Tee - it fits perfectly and it has so many options I can always find one that suits my fabric.

@@lovesredsews oh sorry. Bottoms are hard to fit sometimes. Have a go at it again and hoping it will go better. Took me so long to figure out my pant fitting. I have a handful of TNT that I love now.

Love your Nell blouse! Any ideas on how to press the pouffy sleeves? You are right about fabric from Fabric Godmother, just gorgeous!
Thank you so much! Actually no, I have been wondering this myself. Lol. I think possibly some careful pressing with the tip of the iron
Love the fabrics Claire hopefully you’ll be able to stick to your fabric ban 😢 I’ve made the True Bias Dani Shorts they are full elastic waist in a stretch chambray denim and they are so comfy 🥰💕🥰

I have done the same. I can't stop buying fabric so I have set myself a target to buy 1 piece of fabric, but I think it might have to be 3.

You don't need to justify or feel guilty about buying fabrics!! Have you tried any Dhurata Davies patterns? I have a few and love her Cora tee...it's a wee bit diferent and I love how I can use odd pieces of fabric to make it really different. Being short I feel that the shape really suits me.x

Your glasses look lovely, I’m biased as I always wear mine 😂 but I think you look great. Varifocals do take a bit of getting used to don’t they but it is nice being able to read a menu and look across the room without having to look over or under my glasses 😅

I’m on a fabric ban for the last 6months. Not having the funds made it happen.
