Thanks. This series of vlogs that you are doing on Polyface Farm are some of the best that I have seen. Thanks so much for your family sharing you experience with us.
The chicks, ducks, hens and turkeys all looked healthy and well cared for..I liked they had room to roam around on , and grass to eat .. I especially like the layers are cage free.. they have a very nice setup there.. it would be pretty neat to see it in person..thanks for taking us along on your venture there..
God sure did know what he was doing when he created everything, and he knew how to make everything on earth and human to connect and sync with each other. I bet he just sets on his throne and him and Jesus just smiles at what they created. God bless ur family. Remember keep Jesus 1st and all things will work out for the good.
Mike, I'm glad you said that you don't need fancy and it just needs to be functional. That is encouraging and seeing Polyface is amazing because they are not fancy but oh wow!
I loved to see you all there, soaking up all the knowledge that was being shared with you and wife. I like when you share what you do, then go to other farms and see what they do. Just amazing. Thank you
As a Child I grow up in the Ranch. Milking cow's. Growing up all can of veggies You videos bring me alts of memories Living a healthy way to raising the family Congratulations to all farmers
What an amazing set up! I’ve really enjoyed your videos from polyface farms.. the scale of their operation is beyond words! Thank you for sharing all your experiences
I got the book and also while I was there I ordered some meat. I have ordered meat from other farms but I'm looking forward to tasting Polyface selections of meat.
I am so happy y'all were able to go and participate there at Polyface Farm. You can see on your faces and hear in your words how much you enjoyed and learned while there. Thanks for sharing with us.
I wish to be given a chance to be an apprentice in such a farm. Hard work yet definitely satisfying experience. I'm an engineer but I would really love to be a farmer.😊 Thanks for sharing us your experience.
Another great video! Instead of walking out of the front door, there you both were right in my face smiling haha. I had to smile back! I only have 14 chickens (well 13 now, Chubby Cheeks passed away yesterday) but I am still enjoying them. Getting the coop ready for winter since there are no walls on 3 sides. : )
Although educational this piece felt very sweet. Lacie the can-do SheRo certainly got it done. I would have sized up that big Tractor and off the premises I would go. That Tractor was hugely hugest, lol. My goodness the noise level is incredible with the fine feathered ones. Ear plugs.... The property is vast and beautiful. You guys looked so refreshed. Thank you Fit Framer for the great questions we certainly needed answers to and for getting right in there and showing us how to get it done. Great piece!
The love a mixed flock of poultry. Layers & dual purpose come in so many colors! Ducks probably the most fun tho. Khaki Campbells lay as good as a chicken. I also enjoyed my geese! Mine so well trained, if I said "momma momma" they would surround me for loving, if I didnt, I could garden left alone. Poultry acted better behaved than pigs & goats. Your family is blessed & a blessing to me. I stay in tune with the critters
This was probably one of the most beneficial educational trips you could have taken to move your homestead into the future. Even though you may take a process and morph it to fit your homesteading lifestyle, the original concept was priceless because you have advanced. I see wheels turning in your head and a peaceful joy on your face.
Mike, you have a great interview style. I enjoyed watching both of you talking and then the clips to when you were at Polyface. Lacie, I thought about you moving that tractor. I know you hurt your back doing that. Be careful in the future as you don't want to injure it permanently. Let the guys move the heavy items.
I was anticipating you’re upcoming vlog for this week, oh my goodness it doesn’t disappoint so many cute chickadees 🐤. Seeing all this amazing pastures and farming reminds me of my grandparents being close to the land was their happy place, they were farmers. My grandfather was always awake before the sunrise at 4/5am tending to something... p.s. Lacie your skin is always glowing!
Another great video y'all! You really got some excellent footage @ Polyface (their new book looks like a must have!) and you're making quality content around it. Watching the two of y'all is really encouraging for all of us agrarian types! Couldn't agree more with you that keeping structures simple is just fine, and we've found it's even preferable over "catalog models". Keep the videos coming!!
The second dream place is the Africa Centre for Holistic management at Victoria falls, Zimbabwe, where Holistic courses are given through the Savory Institute.
Super fun video! I want to start keeping chickens myself and I'm doing as much research as possible first. And videos like this help a lot with that. Thought to also use plants that attract insects that the chickens can eat again. And also dead wood on the pasture where bugs like to live. Greetings from the Netherlands and a happy new year!
I have really been enjoying the videos you put together from your visit at Polyface Farm. I am the type of person that love's to learn. I would be in my element there.
Awwwww!!! Where those chickens @7:00 Rhode Island Reds? I only ask because this is my first year raising chickens. I have 8 RIR hens and one rooster and they are prolific layers! I have consistently gotten 6-8 eggs all summer long here in eastern NC, and the last three days, even while they are molting...they gave me 8 eggs all three days! Wicked cool! Pretty sure you saw my other posts because you guys are so good at interacting with your followers but of course, I had to comment again because oh my gosh, this series is absolutely incredible!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I LOVE it sooooooooooooo much!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thank you so much for sharing what you and your family learned while visiting Polyface Farms! Had no idea you were going to do this and I even see a duck processing video from the same farm next. I reckon I'll be up late tonight! HAHA!
Oh wow that is amazing. Do they not worry about hawks or any other predators in that area? We have a lot of hawks here in Texas. Mrs. NG bought that same shirt for me earlier this year. Thanks for sharing
Watching this in my 10th floor apartment in the Bronx, I envy you! The chicken noise is music in my ear. Where I am, you cannot hear a rooster crow The noises you hear are ambulance wailings, police or firemen sirens. lol.
Omghosh I hope you will do some more on kali campbells, never raised them so am wondering about the eggs what do you use them for cause my little babies are just getting there real fathers in and I cant wait to see how pretty they will be wow getting out side to help animals go to new fras seeing them being protected with the chicken tractors is awesome.
I love Joel's ideas they only work for us in the summer. Here in Alberta Canada our winters can get to minus 40 C . So most of us provide an insulated building with enough space for them to move around. Also we have a coyote and cougar problem so they get locked in at night.
Wow, what an amazing place. It appears their systems are run really tight for efficiency. What a workout in one day. Go Lacie moving the chicken tractor. It looks pretty heavy to pull uphill. Mike and Lacie, thanks for sharing your experience at Polyface with all of us. Did your children enjoy it and did they get to engage in any activites? Peace and love to your family.
Back in my younger days we were chicken growers for 🍖 meat. We about 30,000 twice a year. We later switched over to turkeys (ranged) 40,000 year....oh boy did we have a great gardens!, and crops..I sure miss those days. I love watching your videos ..
I really enjoy your ?blogs, your farm, goats, chickens what you grow and plans for the future, the ups and downs in. running a homestead. It's the real homestead that is enjoyable with real-time homesteaders , not the large farmers! So when are you going back to your lovely homestead ?
Hi Enjoy Working hard and smart go together.Have a really good plan and change things upgrade as you learn more.Irs not static but moving forward for good
I hit the subscribe button as soon as I found out that this is another channel that is all about raising chickens ! I like eating fried chicken _ flame grilled chicken. I can eat chicken breakfast time and lunch time and supper time because when chicken is fried right or flame grilled right with Zebby's Kitchen Great Pepper Sauce the flame grilled chicken is guaranteed to be finger licking good.
Mike two questions ... How did the water lines work exactly as to how they plug in a line in a main line to fill water trough ... Was there a float to stop flow when full .... Also do they not move the layer chicken's around ? If it's in a video already don't worry about answering ! Thanks God Bless you and family !!! Just saw answer about moving layers ! But on water lines for cattle haven't seen how that works . You don't have to answer Mike I just saw something on quick connect water lines . Thanks for all your videos ! God Bless !!!

Love my fellow American, the ones that get it. Praying extra hard these days for the ones that don’t.
Mike, I'm glad you said that you don't need fancy and it just needs to be functional. That is encouraging and seeing Polyface is amazing because they are not fancy but oh wow!
The sunrise as Lacie was watering the chicken tractor was absolutely beautiful!
Thank you for this video. I needed a non controversial uplifting video. God bless you.
The tiny house video brings me here. I love this family and his lifestyle. So cool!!
I loved to see you all there, soaking up all the knowledge that was being shared with you and wife.
I like when you share what you do, then go to other farms and see what they do. Just amazing. Thank you
You guys have great humor towards each other. That's real love for you.
First few lines you said are so true, I hate sitting in a office cobicle, outdoor is so soothing
Collecting eggs is one of my favorite things to do on our farm.. I would LOVE to collect all of those :)
As a Child I grow up in the Ranch. Milking cow's. Growing up all can of veggies

man my soul yells at me and say " i want it something like this life " . love from indonesia man 🇮🇩
Chickens look so happy and healthy being out in nature. Wished all chickens were raised that way.
Enjoy watching your adventures visiting farms and homesteads. Thank you for taking us along.
And don't forget that being outdoors also provides our bodies with our much needed daily dose of vitamin D. I'm glad I found your channel.
What an amazing set up! I’ve really enjoyed your videos from polyface farms.. the scale of their operation is beyond words! Thank you for sharing all your experiences

I am so happy y'all were able to go and participate there at Polyface Farm. You can see on your faces and hear in your words how much you enjoyed and learned while there. Thanks for sharing with us.
So cute to watch the baby with the babies. Thank you for sharing that.
I wish to be given a chance to be an apprentice in such a farm. Hard work yet definitely satisfying experience. I'm an engineer but I would really love to be a farmer.😊
Thanks for sharing us your experience.
Mike I have to say the look on your face said it all as you were walking up to the layers house, priceless.
I have seen this done on RUclips circa 2014. One of the best ways in sustainable farming.
Thanks to the Exploring Alternatives channel, I got to know your channel and I'm now a subscriber! 👍🏻
Sure is a beautiful place & lots of labor of love put into it. Thankyou for sharing
The best farmers ever❤️💯

Lacie you are a great sport! I love your positive attitude!
Polyface is like Disney land for homesteaders. Where are you going when you win the Homesteader Super Bowl? I'm going to Polyface farms!
It is such a great place!!

It would be good to know about vaccination medication vitamins that they use in the farm.
How do you prevent predators from digging the sides of the movable houses to get to the pullets?

Alot of work and fun...
Have a good evening 🌻🌻🌻

Yes, to be outside is awesome!
Waking up early in a organic farm is the best thing ever!
