I'm glad you didn't lose everything. It is also a blessing in terms of extra for your flocks. Pssst......hearing protection for daddy too! ❤❤ Fast healing for Saleh and Lacey! 🙏
The kids are growing as fast as those weeds! Salah you looked so beautiful for your dance! I am glad your injury didn't stop you from having fun! Mike, I love how you and Lacey keep it real and then power through it with the help of family and faith. You are setting such a good example. Your kids are proof of it! Take care!
Tips for lawn tractor mowing tall grass: tie up your grass guard (that black flap, if it bends) so grass shoots out instead of building up. Make your first pass with the deck UP… this can also help protect from any of those hidden gems in the tall grass, lol. Let the grass dry out a bit in the sun or even overnight before your second pass. It will look scrawny but it goes a lot faster and is easier on the mower deck and engine… and be sure to hit those grease zirks on your deck. Our John Deere lawn tractor lasted us 20 years on the farm and tackled some mighty tall grass and weeds when needed be. It’s a good piece of equipment if you keep it maintained. Same with the Honda mower… I whacked down briars and brambles and saplings with ours and would just change out the blades to go back to a good lawn cut. Great job keeping your spirits up when faced with such a jungle!
PRAISE GOD FOR HIS HEALING LOVE! I saw a miracle first hand. An elderly lady in our church had a large tumor (softball size) and because of her age, the doctors were hesitant about surgery. The Sunday night before her Monday surgery, the elders and all that believed in Gods healing power, prayed from the bottom of our hearts for this wonderful child of God.🙏 Wednesday night we were shocked to see her walk into church. The preacher laughed and said, "well, guess you all are wondering why Sarah(not her real name) is here and not in the hospital, recuperating from surgery. I'm fixin' to share with you. Sarah went to her pre-op, for one last ultrasound before surgery. While Sarah watches them check the machine, take another image, scratch their heads and check the machine again before one last image. They never said a word. She went back to her room and in a little while the doctor came in with the images. He sat down, with the big yellow envelope with her images and said, "Miss Sarah, I don't know how to tell you this but your tumor is GONE! I don't know how this happened." Sarah smiled and said, "Don't worry doctor, I know how this happened." And raised her hands in praise to our Lord and Saviour! The preacher showed us the images of 2 weeks before of the softball size tumor and the after image that showed absolutely nothing in her body! God is SOOOO worthy of our praise for the very breath we take and for answered prayers🙏
Poor Salah! She’s definitely a strong young woman! Speedy recovery! The youth camp seems like a good place for the kids! Especially yours! They are definitely enjoying it!!!! Lacy, feel better!!! Heki is so adorable! Keep up the great work on the homestead! 🙏🙏🙏
Love that your not ashamed of your faith. One reason I love watching your videos is that your joy comes through even in the face of challenges. Unlike some other homesteaders on you tube who just whine about things.
I love watching yalls posts! This one had the most humor included in the trials and tribulations of gardening. Your lifestyle motivates me to DO something to get my family into this healthy living lifestyle. Im a young grandma, but all things are possible through AND with Christ! Blessings on your family ❤ Keep up the Excellent Work!!!
Thank you for this positive approach to everyday living. Things happen but it’s our own outlook that impacts us. God is my strength and ever present help.🙌🏻😊
Mike, so glad you and your family had fun despite your daughter's injury. She looked gorgeous in her pretty dress. That garden was an adventure! Mike, when you mow, you use mulching blades? I was told you cannot mow if the grass/soil is wet? Hope your wife is feeling better. Great job! God bless.
Mike you and Lacy has the cutest children, I knew you would get that mowing done, you didn't seem like a quitter to me, and I was right. Very nice job it looks great.yall take care, Hollern atya from West Tennessee
Selah is such a beautiful young lady! She is strong because of you and Lacey Mike, as well as the other children. Oh Lacey I hope you are feeling better now! Praise god for THE GUY! Lol! Oh man! Sorry about the garden!
WOW! That must have been a steady downpour while you were gone without any respite. What a mess. Got to hand it to you Mike, you're not easily overcome by hardship, and you have a great deal of tenacity, and God has made you strong. So sorry your daughter got hurt (nasty fall and was surprised it wasn't covered) and the wife got sick (Hopefully she's feeling better), but you all were carrying on through the crosses which came your way. God Bless you all and keep you in His Grace and deliver you from inclement weather, and destruction, sickness and drought. Amen. Alleluia . 🙏👼
When I was married & farmed, we would fed & water early, only stay away 1 night & then feed & water when we got home. Or half of us stayed home & half would go. We switched it out. But farm life is a challenge
She look absolutely Gorgeous in her dress and I am so thankful she is doing so well with her injury and everything will work itself out it always does May God Bless you and your Beautiful Family ❤🎉
Oh, my gracious 😮 Here's hoping the ladies are healing and will be back in good health quickly. 💐 Guys, that was some awesome grass clippings harvest 😅. So happy for you that the John Deere was not only repairable, but that it powered through the final areas just when you needed it most. Bravo. Arugula, apples, and persimmons too!!! 👍👏👊🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🕊
So glad Selah is ok! One day you should look into zero turn mower! We have tons of grass and it's so much faster to mow and can handle the really heavy loads!! Plus they can get into places that the John Deer can't. The ending LOL!
We had cold foggy rain and damp until this week and now it’s hot and humid and high heat index warnings. We live on an island out in the Atlantic Ocean so usually have a bit of wind. I don’t mind it at all as it reminds me of summers at home and when I hear complaints I say enjoy this because winters are too long and cold and damp. It doesn’t do any good to complain. 😊 I enjoy the heat. Better for my arthritis. God is good.
Dont feel bad. I live in south central kansas. Hwy us281 and oklahoma border. Ive poured out over 16" of rain in past 6 weeks. Yes god put his miracle grow in the rain. My daughter mowed 2 days ago. I mowed yesterday, and it needs mowed again. Has grown 2" already.
I hope you get well quickly, Lacey. Don't feel guilty that you are sick and cannot help out. Things work out. I will be praying for you and the family.
This weather has been wild. Y’all have more rain than you can handle and we don’t have a drop. Plus the incredible heat everywhere. Just nuts. Glad y’all got through that and hope everyone is feeling much better now.
I'm thankful you all could get away as a family! But also sorry about the over abundance of weeds and grass. We live in western NC, but didn't get that much rain. I loved your quote on Psalms. Love your whole family 😊😊❤
Mike, We have a very similar situation. Tall Grass!!! We've had rain, the grass has grown like crazy, and because it's long the soil is still wet/muddy. Our push mower needs service. Hubby is going to do it sometime between tonight, and the weekend. When you start it, it stalls continously. My weed whacker started smoking, the grass load is to thick, and heavy. The lawn tractor was just worked on by our son. I will be attempting to use the yard tractor myself over the weekend. Finally, the big tractor will be pulled out to brush hog the areas I can't get with the yard tractor, and to fix our washed out driveway with the box blade. Life is good!! Sending prayers Lacey feels better soon.
Mike, I pray that Lacie is feeling better and Selah’s injury has healed. I pray 🙏 that our Lord will continue to bless you and the Family and give you all the strength to continue on with maintaining your farm. I hope that you all have a wonderful weekend ahead of you. I have a question; when will you start on the second yurt? I look forward to seeing your next video. God bless. Your friend Cindy from a small town in Northern Ontario, Canada 🇨🇦 ❤️❤️❤️🙏🙏🙏
Being in a desert its usually easy to keep up with the grass outside of the garden. However, this spring was the wettest I have ever seen here and we are still trying to battle back the grass and weeds. I feel your pain.
Other people are having drought. Seems to be off kilter everywhere. I saw one farm get so washed out they had to bring in mulch and wood chips to put under the chicken coops and duck coops or the animals would have been swallowed up by mud. Luckily the home didn't get overwhelmed. Everything else was sooo oversaturated. It was scary.
Selah, you are maturing so beautifully. Way to hang in there with those staples in your leg. Lacie I really hate you're feeling awful. I hope you're recovered now. Way to push through with the mowing, Mike!
I pray your wife is feeling better 🙏 and Amen to Psalm 34: 19 there's nothing to bad for God to bring you through it 🙏 Thanks for sharing and God bless 💚
Your videos offer a nest of wholesome vitality and a grounding place of sane wellbeing for my mind and soul. To all of you - fitness farming family members: Thank you for sharing your heart and vital practical skills with me. Feel peace and know love always!
I respect y’all and all y’all do. Love your content. But man it’s hard to feel sorry for you having TOO much grass. We are in Texas and as you know rain is precious here. Glad you got caught up.
Beautiful Selah! She looks so much like her Mom! Mike, you have a beautiful family- full of love and talent! Y’all will bounce back! Sending love and blessings ❤️
Praying for Good health ,happiness and blessing for all ! Selah your such a beautiful young lady and all of your kids are so well mannered . Gods blessings love yall ❤
We live less than 15 miles from Athens! Would love to meet your sweet family if y'all come back this way another yr. Maybe next time.we could buy yall dinner before you head back home. Hope that Lacie and Selah are both much better now I sure dont envy all that mowing you had to take care of, but you got it done! Yall take care and God bless ya!
I'm glad that you were able to get back on top with everything Mike Sorry that your ladies had to go through some troubles while you were away, and hopefully, with the grace of God they are feeling better. Above all, it seemed like it was one triles and tribulations we go through and learn from. I'm pleased that everyone made it home safely.
I would of came over with my kubota if I lived closer! Nice job Mike! Salah so proud of you and hope you’re knee is healing fast! Hugs Lacie hope you’re feeling better! ❤
You will be delivered through the tall grass that snakes and snares hide in. Thank you so much for this word I hope your wife is feeling better and your daughter's leg is healing nicely. Great to see you have such fun at camp and your sons enjoing themselves. Man o man is Hezikiah growing. Much love from Canada God Bless.
All I kept thinking was how awesome it would be to have so much grass clippings to use as mulch or in a huge compost heap. 😱 Amazing work getting through all that mowing. It’s like you were gone for weeks and weeks! 😱Crazy what a bit of moisture and warm weather does for grass. I am glad the ladies are feeling better. Sometimes there are hidden blessings in our difficulties. I’d say making a beautiful bunch of compost from all of that would greatly benefit your garden in the long run. I’m always short on green matter for mine though I’ve always got an abundance of brown matter so mine don’t always work out too well so I just throw everything in there and forget about it until a year goes by haha. Slow compost for me. ☺️ Nice attitude about all of the extra work upon returning home. You handled it well.
Impressed with the Honda pusher! Too bad garden tractors are no longer manufactured. Much "mightier" than lawn tractors. Your baby is so cute and your other kids are growing so fast!!! All sweet as can be!!!
I have a whole new admiration for your philosophies of life, it’s been such a fun adventure watching you and your family through the years, thank you for sharing, I know it’s not easy juggling.
The garden turned into a wild jungle! I was worried there for a minute, you said you broke out your push mower… to me a push mower is just that, a mower that is human powered! Glad you have a power mower!
Send some of that rain to Missouri please. I emphasize the word some. I have to water late this afternoon I’m sorry you’re sick Lacey. Hope you recover soon I have to mow 1/2 acre yard with push mowers-so much fun and I can’t afford a rider
Mike, you are an artist with the camera and editing, and your sense of humor is on point. I truly enjoy your work. We are in east TN and my garden looked like that,,, but we were home the whole time😂
Ugh…so sorry you came home to such a discouraging mess. You guys are such hard workers….great job cleaning it up and with a good attitude in spite of frustration. You will get it all squared away.
Wow, so sorry you came home to your yard being so overgrown, but glad you got it under control. Josiah was a great help with the weed eater. Lacie sorry you got sick, hope you feel better soon. Selah you have grown into a very beautiful young lady. Sorry you got hurt, but glad you were still able to attend the dance at the end of camp. Didn’t see much of Micah but I’m sure he was doing his part in helping get the yard under control. Have a blessed day 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻❤️❤️👩🏻🌾
I'm glad you didn't lose everything. It is also a blessing in terms of extra for your flocks.
Pssst......hearing protection for daddy too! ❤❤
Fast healing for Saleh and Lacey! 🙏
Thick layer of cardboard with woodchips on top are your best friends for never having to mow again. God bless you guys!
The kids are growing as fast as those weeds! Salah you looked so beautiful for your dance! I am glad your injury didn't stop you from having fun! I have a question; when will you start on the second yurt? I look forward to seeing your next video. God bless.

We are working on getting the second yurt started!
Being in a desert its usually easy to keep up with the grass outside of the garden. However, this spring was the wettest I have ever seen here and we are still trying to battle back the grass and weeds. I feel your pain.

I was young, so it's only a vague memory, but it seems it was similar here around 97 or 98, just not this extreme.
Very cool lettuce spinner!
The tomatoes remind me of Heirlooms...they look delicious!

As long as you enjoyed your time away that's all that matters everything else will fall back into place hopefully the ladies are feeling better
Goodness at all the tall grass. Glad you were able to get the riding mower going again. Hope Lacie and Selah are feeling better.
Selah, you are maturing so beautifully. Way to hang in there with those staples in your leg.
Lacie I really hate you're feeling awful. I hope you're recovered now.

You should do the cardboard mulch method to get rid of the grass permanently at least in the garden area
Hope you get the ride mower fixed soon, they help so much on large yard
