Totally agree, if you frequent a track then sure a SuperBike for both road & track makes sense.
I never visit a track so a more Road focused bike like a Naked or Street Fighter makes a lot more sense... for me at least.

Tough choice, but I’d go naked sport. Though, I have to say Maxi-Scooters that have some balls are awesome for the backroads, and city streets. Once you adapt it’s hard to go back. They’re so low maintenance. Saves me a ton of money, and is still a blast to ride. I love my dual sport too. It’s hard to chose just one. 😂

I can’t agree that modern sports bikes are less street friendly. Yeah, they may have more available speed and power, but with riding modes, traction control, wheelie control, and antilock, they’re MUCH easier to ride than the older feral beasts.

It all depends on how and where you’re riding. A lot of people need years to master a sport bike but when you do it’s very satisfying to ride. Single Cylinder supermoto bikes too rough on the street especially riding most of the day. KTM 890, Ducati Hypermotard, New Ducati Monster all you need for the street with smoother engine and more high speed highway fun. The New MT 09 is a bargain bike now with all the electronics of liter bikes with cornering ABS/TC. Full throttle out of corners for faster lap times and prolonged safer trail braking experimenting the limits of the bike.

Not as heavy as a bagger, more maneuverable. Fun to ride as far as cruisers go. Good for 500 mile days Bike 2: Triumph Speed Triple 1050, naked bike. LUV this bike. Super fast for the street. Very fun in the turns, Relaxed riding position. Great for the Texas Hill country twisty' s. Comfortable enough to do 300 mile days on it if I want to.

I think super bikes look good but that’s where it ends for me. I have no desire to ride one. I always think I want to ride one till I sit on one. I prefer naked bikes. I just bought my first with a 2021 MT-09. I’ve always been on a Harley. Still have one but excited for the fun of a naked bike. Also one thing I’ve been seeing more of lately is newer riders that want super bikes because of the ego of having one but instead that, they think they can ride in the street like you can on a track. They’re giving themselves a false sense of security that you need to be on the fastest bikes to be invincible. I watch them fly past cars at 160+mph, cross double yellows with on coming traffic, cross 4 lanes of traffic in one swoop damn near on the rims they’re so leaned over at triple digit speeds, on highways that have major imperfections, and there’s a ton of fast cars around here (that can keep up with super bikes) that could be in the open lane trying to catch up to race them or paying no attention in their cage trying to see if the car can really hit 200mph on the street. It’s crazy that new riders see that stuff happen and think “that’s so cool. I want to try and keep up with them” just to prove to themselves that they’re a better rider than everyone else because they do everything they can to try to die

Letting go of my Suzuki gixxer 1000 k9. Absolute monster, but thats also the issue. Im not having enough "fun" without speeding. I dont do track days because the insurance doesnt cover any accidents on the track. So going back to naked, for seating position and for the wheelies.

I rode my buddy’s bmw nineT yesterday and instantly felt in love with the seating position and torque down low. Where i live, the nearest track is about 2-3 hours away and i don’t see myself on the track anyways. I’m a man of the streets. Anyways, i have a zx6r and looking to get a z900 or something like a triumph street triple or rocket 3

After riding and owning a superduke 1290 r I'll never want for anything else.
However there is an algorithm for how many bikes a rider should own and it's +1 for what your already have.
I think it's worth having bikes for fun, dirt, supermoto, cruiser.
    I just don't think I'll ever have a superbike.
Once you've been on a superduke, you have all that power, all the time in any gear at any rpm, and your so comfy all day and your flowing through traffic and if your a hooligan it's just everything it has ENDLESS torque In every gear. Imagine doing 100 rolling onto the highway in 4th and you just roll on a bit harder and blam the front wheel starts floating and then the computer says oh shit and floats you down graciously......unless you have traction off in that case your doing 120 on your rear

I passed a friend who has a GSXR1000 immediately out of a turn, so fast, he said he looked down to make sure his bike was running.. then he said it never stopped happening after that with the other guys on 09s and Tuonos...he has a MT10 now 😂

Super sports are truly right at home on the track & open freeway .. if you're not moving 75-120 - plus .. their not in their element ..
Naked bikes -- don't get so hot at stop lights -- love them for city riding - they look sexy & mean ( very attention grabbing ) hate them for what's written above . ( track open freeway )
If you can afford it - buy em both .. then add a touring bike - 😉

Overall it's pretty simple. If you wanna a slow bike(which gonna get smoked by every supersport on a street), which doesn't look good, difficult to fix if you lay it over, and you have a weak body that won't let you stay on a supersport for the duration of travel then get naked. For all other people, supersport is the way to go.

How fast are you really going to go in the canyons that you can't do on a naked bike? It's not like a track where you can go as fast as you want without worrying about being ejected off of the mountain.

@@CycleCruza There are some hardcore canyon rippers in SoCal that would blow your mind. Near Azusa has 120 mph sweepers, 180 mph straights,...Right or wrong, they treat the road like a racetrack because they can't afford the track every weekend. They're competitive with eachother, too. With similarly skilled riders, naked bikes always get beat by the supersports.

European bikes typically pull at your heart strings like a Ferrari or Lambo. Japanese bikes more like a Corvette as both transport you but one is more of an adventure with moving ART. Honda has been testing more expensive bikes like the rr-r but typically Honda, Yamaha, and Kawasaki buyers looking for less expensive bikes. European bikes more cutting edge tech that the Japanese massage further. I enjoy bikes that are more exclusive or special rather than Honda’s and Yamahas on every corner. Do you need a liter bike, no. Difference between a liter bike and middle weight bike are full throttle out of corners. You can do that with liter bikes now but only with stability control with cornering TC.

Oh and one more thing it's naked that means easy oil changes. So now I have more time to ride and not worry about bulshit maintenance.
