Dude is a natural. Super interesting and articulate. Great guest, especially considering it’s his first podcast. This is the kind of content that drew me to Cleared Hot to begin with and what will keep me coming back.
I worked with Robert (Bob) in the 101st. From my short time with him I can say listening to this podcast that this is 100% him. I remember him as a genuine and charismatic person. Glad to see he’s doing well.
Andy… I am a diehard watcher of Cleared Hot. THIS particular podcast is my favorite of yours because this young man is so sincere, but the main reason is because he is a SEARCHER of information….he asked your opinion MULTIPLE times…because he clearly had come to a level of respect. I truly enjoyed this podcast.
Omg this guy needs his own podcast his energy and articulation are awesome. Really enjoyed this one today. If this guy does an audio book it needs to be in his own voice. He’s got one that could garner him and his family slot of financial security and freedom.
This podcast hit home hard. As a former Army Infantryman who definitely did not have a stable upbringing or early life and a very erratic transition to civilian life as a Gulf War Veteran. I can empathize with both of these guys wending their way through life. I found my therapy raising chickens and being with my best friend and partner every day of my life. The women in our lives do not get the credit for the strength and support they provide to keep us upright. "KUTF"
This guy has such an open and sincere demeanour. He also speaks and, just as equally, listens very well. A rare combination. Andy always does a great job of creating an environment where men can have a candid and heartfelt exchange without it being marred by ego or braggadocio.
I just got Robert’s book and I was hooked from the first page! This man can write! Thank You Andy for having this man on to tell his story-Riveting thus far! 👵🏽✌🏾🦅☀️🦅🇺🇸🦅☀️🦅
Awesome podcast. Bobs a natural, and very interesting guy with a lot of great advise. Looking forward to reading his book. I hope we all pick up a copy or two to support a great guy! Thanks Andy for just keeping it real.
I came here thinking I was watching a Rob O’Niel, oops. I’m glad I did though! I actually ripped out with his BDE in ‘06 but was at FOB Summerall. I’ll have to check out his book.
One of the best shows so far. Awesome to have a guest shake down Andy for some deeper questions. He’s one of the best at asking the right questions and to have a guest fire back with some proper heaters made this conversation seem even more constructive
Going back through your episodes and catching up on a handful that I've missed. This one is so good. This guy is awesome, and the conversation took so many turns. Would love to see him come back.
What an impressive person. I had similar ethical questions to myself during my deployment, and was great to hear how someone else processed it, even if that was imperfect.
Robert is an amazing human. I got to know him here in Homer, Alaska when I was hosting Sobriety and Recovery program at my gym. I lost track of him after I shut down in 2019. I am glad to see he and his beautiful family thriving and continuing to change lives so many years later.
I use to fish Eagle River when I was a kid in the early 80's. My dad was stationed at Elmendorf AFB. We use to go to a gold mine in Crows Creek all the time as well. Such an amazing place!!!!!
Really enjoyed this episode, in particular. Also: As an Alaskan, his use of the f-bomb was definitely in the rookie range. I worked a few seasons in Salmon processing and the fishermen there could compose entire paragraphs, loaded with meaning and nuance, using only the f-word and a few -ings, -ers and other miscellaneous bits of the English language.
Andy i look forward to your podcast every week along with Shawn ryan, jack carr rounds out the top 3 vlogs. Thanks for all you do and the interesting guests that you have on
This was actually pretty cool I actually sit through the whole thing I used to avoid people like this cuz I thought they were weird now I think I get it once you've been through enough bad s*** you try to surround yourself with as much good stuff as you can maybe that's what I'm going through right now maybe I wasn't ready to like this 15 years ago
As my parents oldest (in my 30s), I do find I have no problem coming back to hang with them. To an extent, sometimes i may get frustrated and need time. I can also somewhat relate to the rejection letter. My sister had this big plan for her Doctorate, after getting her Masters, had it for years, and every college turned her down.
This podcast was great, I was unsure based on the title. But Bob had an awesome story and one of true enlightenment. I think one thing i've noticed repeatedly on Clear Hot is that the guests spend their own money to travel out to do the podcast. I would humbly suggest that Cleared Hot covers the cost of flight and a hotel for a more 'open conversation'. I know Joe Rogan does that for his guests, and I understand that the comparison is large and the costs might be heavy. But I have noticed that some guests on cleared hot are challenged financially but have a really great story to tell. This might be one of the logistic challenges that would open a new door on the podcast.
I’ve been clean 8 years on the 31st of May and been out of prison since June 2016. It’s a world of its own inside those walls. I’d love to come on and share my story in hopes of saving someone else. I actually talk with the kids on my sons wrestling team and mentor kids now so they don’t do the same dumb shit I did.
Andy...Maybe your source of your clown trauma stems from Killer Clowns from Outer Space (filmed in Santa Cruz 1988). Maybe repressed memories? Just sayin...

This Stark guy is great. Looking forward to seeing him on some other podcasts, too.
I like this guy - we don't have much in common but I admire his honesty and how he lives his life. God bless him, his family and his brother.

This is one of my FAVE episodes! He is a really cool guy.

I’ve been a long time listener, this one hit home for me. Best pod cast you’ve had so far. Can’t wait to see this dude break the internet.
One of the better podcasts I've listened to. Bob is such a light for this world

Thank you gentlemen! Shared.
Ordering the book Bob! Thanks for telling your story.
Stark is an awesome guy!!! I love his stories.
A Stark from the Northlands. Awesome.
What an impressive person. I had similar ethical questions to myself during my deployment, and was great to hear how someone else processed it, even if that was imperfect.
loved the stories

This was a great episode what an interesting human 👏
Let's play a game, how far into the video before Andy uses the phrase "painting with a broom"!🤣
Needs to be a T-shirt.

Awesome podcast

Let’s do it people!
My dad has that nervous energy too. Right before he takes off. We might have had the same pops
This was good
Good morning everyone! Get out and get it done!

POG "Person Other than Grunt"
This guy's life is WILD.
He seems like such an awesome dude. Great episode!
Valdez. Alaska and army vet here…Awesome interview! I’m definitely ordering his book
That bass kitty is almost $60-80k depending on rigging. So I think that’s a pretty sweet giveaway lol.
This guy is the Big Lebowski if he had gone airborne instead of liberal arts college.
shit dude I was thinking the same thing
I'm just closing my eyes and picturing Ryan Gosling talk about how he was abducted by aliens
Love Andy's Coffee Tumblr!! #Crandallfitness

Yes Andy it’s very crucial to remember every life we take or save we are connected to forever!👵🏽✌🏾🦅☀️🦅💚🦅☀️🦅💚
@Andy great podcast. Continue to diversify your guests, the BUDSathons can get old.
His brother needs a gofundme.
U ever want to talk to someone that did two tours of route clearance I did it and it took its pound of flesh
People in Alaska loooooove to f-king drink, its like the national pastime up there, holy crap.
Stark has most definitely smoked some herb in his time, I think he's permanently happy.
What episode is this?
🤡👍 has the clown ever told you Andy you got the cutest smile when you sleep.. jk😂😅
Like the real rob stark king of the north????? Wtf I thought that was a tv show lol
☕️
This guy looks a little like Gerta Thunberg or is that just me
Andy...Maybe your source of your clown trauma stems from Killer Clowns from Outer Space (filmed in Santa Cruz 1988). Maybe repressed memories? Just sayin...
Roman catholicism.... original?
