Honestly, I like this. Though I'm not sure on having Big Rig Kirby as the final smash - feels a bit too *specific* to one game, you know? I would have probably made Mic his final smash instead - having him emit three damaging shockwaves around him, with the final being his iconic "DESTOOO". Mics have been with the Kirby series since even before he had the Copy Ability, and they're still one of the go-to screen-clearing abilities in the series.
If they did resort to a one-off ability for the Final Smash, I think Hypernova would make the most sense, given it relies on Kirby's inhale - his most iconic move. Ultra Sword still works well enough, though if they ever added Magolor to the roster (which isn't that farfetched, given how much HAL loves the guy and how much focus he's been getting in the games now), maybe they'd move it over to him - probably not in function, but they could make it more like the final blow from Magolor Epilogue - if he didn't just get the Lor Starcutter or something
I think the best final smash would be using that… ability from Kirby Triple Deluxe, where he just inhales everything, then spitting it out as a star, then the star exploding.
Victory Screen Ideas (only 2, since he should keep at least one Kirby dance): 1. Kirby spots a nearby slice of delectable cake and, forgetting the entire situation, immediately vacuums it up. Satisfied with his victory treat, he closes his eyes in bliss as he sits down, idly tapping his feet against the ground. 2. Giving a tired stretch upwards, Kirby relaxes, his body squishing slightly. He then pulls a sleeping cap from hammer space and slips it on before flopping forward, falling fast asleep.
@@Neutra77 Wait you don't know? I thought you were making a reference to Across the Spiderverse. In the movie one of the characters exclaimed that another character has hammerspace. Hammerspace is an infinite void that characters can pull items from. The idea is its mostly cartoon characters.
@@JohnboyTheGamer I do know what hammer space is. It's just a common enough term that I didn't think saying it would be a reference to anything in particular.
I honestly think Kirby’s Final Smash is fine as is, but everything else in this video is fantastic. As a Kirby main myself, it would feel wonderful to see my little pink boy get some well deserved buffs and changes like these ones.
14:53 there's something I like to addon to this, if you hold the up special you can charge it up to increase range and power. However, you are left vulnerable while charging. Upon release would create a explosion where Kirby jumped.
Down throw was such a cute addition. Hopefully it also gets the fireworks effect from recent titles as well. I feel like the final smash could change to Big-Rig Mouth, but Ultra Sword is such a classic now, being a typical idea for a 'super move' that also fits perfectly with Kirby's aesthetic.
And if someone would like to change for something unique, hypernova is right there Kirby would suck a big area but not all of the stage and he can angle it some objects would appear ( the truck would be of course smaller, the mirror form amazing mirror, and even the ultra sword) so he can suck enemies easier. Other things: every object ( except the mirror) will send the enemy to the air and when enemies are in the air it would be easier to suck The mirror would trap 1 enemy in it so kirby can guarantee sucking them He would finish with a laser, with every enemy sucked would make the laser do more damage Sorry if long
I always kinda thought his final smash should be the Hypernova Kirby. That ability really feels like what would happen if you just super-powered Kirby, which is what the smash ball does. And I think it could be a real spectacle, too.
His current down throw is more iconic... Its so iconic that they gave it to Meta Knight too. Its also one of his Suplex Ability moves, and having all the throws keep the same theme makes more sense to me.
The big problem I’ve always had with his inhale in smash is that it can’t consistently catch and spit out projectiles, which is his main way of counteracting long distance problems, and it heavily cripples his character in smash too because he has no real way of fighting ranged characters, despite being able to do so in even his earliest games
This is almost exactly how i imagined it. The slide down tilt, hammer F smash, Needle Up Smash And Weel Side B are ideas that have been brewing in my head for years. The main surprises where Spark down Smash, Cutter up smash and bomb down B. Im also surprised your didnt make down air parasoul like everyone else, but your reasoning makes sense.
Not a full-blown move, but Kirby could use a unique shielding animation based off the Ice ability. (Kirby has had the ability to guard in lots of games, but on multiple occasions, Ice has been the only ability that completely blocks all damage.)
That would mean sacrificing the block animation reference wich every single ability but ice (and gigant sword) uses and is more iconic to the character Tho if possible it should happen only with the blue kirby alt
Weirdly enough, shields as a concept might already be based on Mirror's unique shield from Super Star, so doing more to reinforced that concept with a rainbow shimmer effect might be more inline.
I’m surprised and disappointed they don’t change Kirby’s moveset. His kit could easily be completely different every game or at least make his moves more interesting with references to the newer games
To be fair, Sakurai has no real bias against modern Kirby (in fact, a Kirby's Epic Yarn stage for 3DS/Wii U was planned at some point). It's really the fault of Nintendo's executives for giving Sakurai and his team such time constraints.
As a Kirby main, I would greatly welcome any moveset upgrade and modernization. Him, DK, and Samus feel like the three characters who have changed the least but are in desperate need of upgrades. Mario and Link at least got minor upgrades even if it didn't go far enough.
Very interesting take on reworking the pink puff! I'm surprised to see you were even more restrained then I was when pulling from copy abilities, but I'm also glad to see that we shared some of the same ideas, like having slide as his DTilt and hi-jump and his USpecial, and keeping DSpecial, FTilt, Dash Attack, and most of his throws and aerials the same. As for my own changes, I actually placed Needle onto Utilt, and I opted to not use hammer as to give Dedede a more unique identity, so I have a whip strike for FSmash, Yo-Yo's gazer spiral for USmash, and Mirror's split for DSmash. The biggest different between our ideas though was that I opted to lean more into Kirby's jack-of-all-trades role he was initially designed as, and gave him a projectile FSpecial in the form of cutter's boomerang as a tool to set up combos, but honestly I love your idea for FSpecial better and feel it fits much more nicely into Kirby's play style. Great video as usual! Was anticipating this one and you didn't disappoint!
I've got a couple ideas of my own! - Firstly, for Kirby's Forward Smash, why don't we have him use the Ring Mouthful? Unlike traditional smash attacks, this one can rely more on pushing opponents back than dealing damage en masse. The longer you charge up, the further the windblast travels, but it will still dissipate a bit over time. - I actually think Cutter for a Side Special is a good idea, but let's retool it so it more resembles its Forgotten Land appearance, in which the blade spins in place and charges up until you press B again. While a cutter is charging, Kirby can move freely but not attack, and as such this means that you essentially get to choose the range of the attack and the direction in which it's meant to hit. - I'd also change up Kirby's Inhale such that instead of gaining the Neutral Special of the inhaled fighter, Kirby instead gains one of the Copy Abilities from his own series and replaces his Inhale with a move from that ability. For characters like Captain Falcon, Sonic, Jigglypuff and Wario, Kirby could gain the Wheel ability and its Dash attack. For Mario, Dedede or the Ice Climbers, he can use the Hammer Flip, or the Range Shot if he swallows someone like Samus or Fox. - Honestly, I think a great idea for a Final Smash would be Kirby using his Mike ability, creating a massive shockwave about the size of Puffed-Up Jigglypuff. Even better if you can waggle the L-Stick for the Encore alternative, or perhaps even include a couple Star Allies for the ear-rupturing Fatal Chorus!
putting down slide in the thumbnail is very respectable because thats one of the most prevalently wanted and Obvious moves to add to his moveset in smash bros like seriously where tf has it been 😭
Hammer Flip should honestly be a forward smash at this point. The new smash attacks (especially the up and down smashes) were definitely eyebrow raisers. Overall, this was a fine remake. Also, can you make a new playlist for your Remake It series?
Kirby definitely need more copy abilities implemented in his move-set. I did like High Jump being utilized as his Up Air, a much needed replacement for Cutter
My boy's finally getting the remake he needs! Very interested to see how you buff the pink puff. Moveset thoughts: Okay, I think this was pretty good update overall. Copy Abilities on the Smash attacks are perfect, the throws look good, and I dig the new Up and Side Specials, you managed to get me on board with Kirby using Hi-Jump. In terms of things I'd change, I think if you are going to put Tornado-style wind effects on his Neutral Air, I'd just make it into a shorter Tornado Spin, or give the tornado effects to his Down Air instead. If the latter approach was taken, you could turn the Neutral air into something like the Ice Sprinkle attack. I also think Wrestler Kirby could be represented in more then just the throws, maybe swap out Vulcan Jab for it's Chop Barrage, or make it's aerial headbutt into Up Air. I'd also make Kirby's Side Smash Hammer Flip specifically, since it's an iconic attack for the ability. That said, you still did Kirby justice, and I can't wait to see what you'll do for Bandana Dee!
I personally think u could just make neutral air be a weaker version of the version of the move seen in Amazing Mirror's Smash Copy ability, which has an extended radius.
I think the one spot thats a bit wonky is the smash attacks. Something neat about the original moveset is that his smash attacks, tilts, and aerials all mirror each other. There's a nice cohesive simplicity to it. (Also, just my take but I think Beam fits Kirby waaaayyyyy better than it does Waddle Dee. haha, just a slight peeve of mine that so many BWD movesets give him Beam only because of SSF2)
I should say though, buffing inhale is obviously a must for making that a more viable move. It's his signature attack! And also adding Wrestler flair to his throws is actually a great idea
IMO, this is your best rework so far. It feels like a proper balance between more canonical links, addressing competitive flaws and what's already there while keeping Kirby simple. The Ability Drop gimmick is also just perfect. Great work!
I personally think the problem with Kirby's Smash moveset is how his copy abilities only have one or two moves or aren't their game counterparts. I'm not a big fan of Kirby movesets relying on giving him multiple attacks from multiple abilities, but for what it's worth, this is one of my favourites (though the Bomb move was not a good enough replacement for the Ninja kicks. Yes, they're just kicks, but the move is really cool). Also, since everybody is talking about their replacement for the final smash, I actually think the Ultra Sword should stay, I'd just change the attacks between the first and last one to be from other Super Abilities from Adventure Wii.
This has easily been my favorite Kirby rework I’ve seen on the platform. Always saw other movesets try and add more references that I felt were there for the sake of references, and I’ve given it a go myself to keep it more grounded, so it was so nice to see you do the same. And I loved the change to up air! Helps make it more distinct from up tilt, and keeps the cutter blade in the moveset, which I feel is still important to keep somewhere.
I think the choices here were reserved in the best way, modernizing his design while avoiding an extreme amount of change to throw the existing Kirby mains off base. Still, there’s so much potential to Kirby, and there are yet many options for special moves that the pink puff can take on in the next smash outing! Fixing final cutter by returning the frame 1 cross slash, improving his inhale to be as quick and powerful as it should be, adding popular ability moves like whip tornado and spin slash… the list goes on! Ultra sword is fine as his final smash though. Giving him the Return to Dreamland Sword randomizer would be a neat easter egg as well
As a Kirby main, aside from the Final Smash (which I think is fine or could become Mike Kirby), the down throw, and maybe the d tilt and how this seems to leave Kirby without a projectile, I think this is perfect. I really hope they manage to do something like this, regardless if we get an enhanced port of Ultimate or a reboot. I'm glad you kept Kirby's normals mostly the same as well and just built on them. Those are what I think make him fun to play as in neutral, and his new options would be really great to have in a future game. Excellent video overall!
Great moveset. I was always mixed on Kirby redesigns because they mostly felt like references without keeping the core moveset but this was a great way to do it. The only criticism is that I feel like the sword ability should be somewhere in the moveset (I know that it is because Bandana Dee will probably have it in your moveset but I never really accociated him with a sword) and I prefer the old neutral air and down throw (bomb should be in the moveset but put it somewhere else). And also the Final Smash should have the Truck, Big Sword and Drill along with allies because that would be pretty epic.
If Dedede only uses his hammer, and Meta Knight only uses sword, I feel like Bandanna Dee would likely only use his Spear, however I love parasol and beam so i wouldn't mind if they were included. Kirby has so many copy abilities so I understand it's impossible to reference all of them, but this moveset actively gives Fighter the highlight. Seriously, Fighter is more than half of the moveset. Also his forward and backthrow reference BACKDROP AND SUPLEX, *NOT WRESTLER*.
Maybe the F-Tilt? Sword Slash is a quick, reliable, somewhat weak move useful to keep distance... That sounds like an F-Tilt to me. Kirby's sword is roughly the same Size as meta Knight so is still roughly the same range, just safer because it's somewhat disjointed. The other option is to use the Spinning sword attack Kirby has in Forgotten land on Down Smash, specially considering people don't seem to like spark due to being awkward visually.
Everything is great but I wouldn't get rid of Final Cutter, it may be a not great move, but the "Isha-HEY!" voiceline is too iconic to throw out. (Also the cutter is just an iconic move in the Kirby series)
I'm personally not into the changes, but this video is kickass. Anyone willing to do this much to conceptualize a change to the moveset of a beginner character in a platform fighter is clearly deserving of a like
I’m a casual Kirby player and I like this remake. It’s fun. Also, this new Kirby Final Smash, I imagine works kinda like Ganondorf’s in Smash Ultimate. Stunning opponents for a rush across the screen. Great remake! Keep it up.
When you mentioned Wheel i was really hoping itd function like kragg side-b, and you actually did. Having it cancel is such a cool mechanic that actually gives good followups
Good work, how about for the next remake it why not Jigglypuff and give them like fairy type moves like Moonblast, Fairy Wind, Draining Kiss, and Play Rough?
My idea for Kirby’s final Smash, while obvious would be hypernova, Kirby will suck up all foes, projectiles, food, and whatever in front of him he won’t stop until like seven second past, once those seven seconds are up, food will heal him up, if Kirby didn’t catch anything aside for food, the final smash ends there, if he did, Kirby will turn around and fire a mega blaster bullet, if you get sucked up by Kirby, you’ll be sent right to the blast zone with nothing stopping you, and it gains damage and size as Kirby sucks up more and more stuff.
About time the famous, heroic, pink puffball got an overhaul as he greatly needed one since the second Smash since he was so awful in Deluxe! XD I think you've done an excellent job recreating Kirby's current kit in Smash while still retaining all the ones that still work! :D I'm especially glad that you brought over his signature slide attack that he's had since nearly the beginning of his series, and it just blows my mind that to this day Smash STILL hasn't brought it over yet for whatever reason as it should've been in Smash since Day 1! I'm pleased that you made Kirby's Up Appeal longer just like how it was in For prior before they shortened it like how they did in Special where character Appeals were either shortened, or sped up, and I've never been a fan of that, it just defeats the purpose of being able to cancel out of Appeals, same with character Victory Fanfares being sped up, or slowed down (I really hope that if Smash 6 is a thing they avoid those, but do keep Appeal cancellation)! I'm also thrilled that you gave him a brand new Last Trump Card being his Monster Trailer form from his Mouthful Transformation from Discovery! Hopefully now he should be as amazing as he was originally in Smash's debut, only better balanced this time! Another solid Remake It video, Delzethin!
I feel Kirby could use both his normal specials and the copied fighter's specials with the copied fighter's specials being mapped to a special command. Double-tap B, or special directions? It certainly would feel more authentic to later Kirby games with more attacks per copy.
Another solid rework! I was a little thrown off when Wheel was Kirby's Side Special instead of Cutter, but since it helps Kirby's horizontal recovery, it makes since. The only thing I'm not a fan of is Spark as Kirby's Down Smash. I think Sword or Staff would be a lot better. Edit: Also kinda bummed you didn't add the Super Inhale.
I think making Wheel an armored combo-starting burst movement option akin to Bowser Jr's side b would do wonders to fix Kirby's issue with approaching.
I think that Beam Whip would be a more interesting f-smash, giving him some much needed range while standing out as something distinctly "Kirby" instead of merely another hammer swing. Other than that, I really like this remaster! Especially down tilt. I can't believe he can't slide in Smash lol
honestly I felt either beam or whip could be used as his side B instead of wheel. I understand the purpose wheel serves but rather than just approaching faster make the enemy come to you with either a whip grapple move or beam shooting a projectile if you hold it or just doing the normal beam move
@@fancymustache3793I agree, Beam Whip would be a great side special. I think it could even help his recovery a bit, since Beam's forward air in the Kirby games is decently fast and propells him in the air for a few seconds
Fun fact about that neutral aerial change! That's almost exactly what the pre-existing Smash Bros. ability from Kirby & The Amazing Mirror, Kirby's Dream Collection and Kirby: Planet Robobot does, except it's not wind there, just mysterious blue waves! It's also the only fully unique attack that ability has considering the rest of it is just a few of Kirby's specials and jabs and stuff.
I just got this recommended to me, and I’ve never heard of you but I checked out your channel because of how high quality the thumbnail looks, and this all looks great! 2 seconds in and I’m already excited to watch all of your stuff lol
Instead of the bomb throw, you could have Kirby Megaton Punch them! For his Inhale, I think it should start up with the normal reach and frame data, and then reach further after a couple more frames. I really appreciate the Remake It! series, you've got a good eye for it!
KIRBY VIDEO!! LES GOOOOO!! Will give my thoughts now. I'm just glad this video exists. 😊 I very much like this revamp. I think you made Needle work without having it be weird, and I think the Down Throw is really funny. 😂 Two things I'd change up: First, I think it's fine if Kirby was able to spit out all projectiles into a star. I don't think that would make him broken, and it would make him feel more complex while not being complex. Inhale should be one of the central focuses of his kit, in my opinion, so giving it that utility should make Kirby more interesting to fight. Second, I can't get down with the Final Smash. I know we have Meta Knight, and he's cool and all, but Sword has been an integral part of Kirby's identity since the beginning, and is probably his most important Copy Ability. I thought it was a smart idea to represent it through it's ultimate form, and put it in his Final Smash, showing how important it is for Kirby. Even if we need to make it more interesting to look at (I'd like it to change it's shape, like it does in the final boss), it should be there in his Final Smash. The Big Rig is cool, but I don't think it encapsulates Kirby enough to be a Final Smash. Otherwise, amazing job, dude!
I'd replace down smash with mirror's dash attack, the up special with circus's or spiders's trampoline type attack and keep the final smash as the same, but otherwise U did great with the redesign! U gave everyone's favorite pink puff all the love he deserves! :D
Very good ideas imo, I’d make a few alterations tho. Down smash- sword ability, functions how it does in forgotten land with the charge up and would work along the lines of toon link Up b- keep it as final cutter but it would be better as a out of shield option and holding the b button has it function how it currently does with higher knock back but just tapping the button would have it work like the smash 4 custom move upper cutter Side b- uses the bomb ability where he throws a bomb with an arc where it does moderate damage but excels in helping with neutral and ledge trapping allowing him to get in easier on his opponent without being to annoying or oppressive for zoning as it’s function more as a combo move rather than a zoning tool. It’d make his weak approach game better and I don’t think he’d need a third burst movement option alongside dash attack and down tilt and I can’t imagine the wheel ability being very good as well as having parallels with a lot of other characters side b’s
As a Kirby main, this seems like a really fun moveset to use, would love to try modding this. Having what would be a longer uair would be a great combo starter with falling uair at the cost of it being weaker but a better combo tool.
Basic Attack Thoughts: Not bad! I like how you only really changed the Down Tilt to Kirby's iconic Slide, which he's had since Super Star. Smash Attack Thoughts: I think you goofed on F-Smash's naming - Hammer Swing is actually the name of an attack that the Hammer Copy Ability has that has the input of Dash + B. The attack in question you're using here is called "Hammer." Nothing else... just Hammer. Don't know why they did that. Still, nice choices for Up and Down Smash! Aerial Attack Thoughts: I like how you altered Neutral Air to make it a multi-hit (like it SHOULD BE). Very creative decision in mixing Twinkle Star with the Tornado ability. I also like what you did with Up Air, too. Great job here! Grab/Throw Thoughts: Love the Kirby Fighters 2 representation with Wrestler. Even if the ability sucks to use, I love having fun messing around with it. XD Taunt Thoughts: It was perfect. Perfect. Everything, down to the last, minute details. Special Move Thoughts: I agree with you that the vacuum portion of Inhale should be mid-range instead of close-range... I don't know what Nintendo was thinking with that, but do we *_REALLY_* need all the copy abilities from the other fighters? Sure, if a new Smash game ever gets made, there is bound to be cuts, but just making a hat for Kirby and copy-and-pasting every other fighter's Neutral B code into Kirby's Neutral B code *_WILL TAKE FIGURATIVELY FOREVER._* So what's my solution to this, you ask? Well, its simple. For Super Smash Bros. Crusade, the dev team who made it ditched giving Kirby the hats and sticked to fighters giving Kirby a select few Copy Abilities from his franchise's catalog that matched their neutral B (Fire for Mario, Wheel for Sonic, and so on). The only exception to this was Captain Falcon, meaning Kirby still gets Falcon Punch. Kirby's home series Copy Abilities being added to Inhale gave the move some... how should I put this? Uniqueness? Flare? Don't know. The point is, we can do more with Inhale than just copy-and-paste the other fighter's Neutral Specials on to Kirby. As for a Side Special, I would personally use Moon Somersault Kick from Amazing Mirror. The attack can move Kirby upwards, making it perfect for following up into aerial attacks, and it also has super armor, meaning Kirby can pretty much kick through a Samus Charge Shot without a scratch - more than good enough compensation for Inhale losing its defense against projectiles. Aside from those two nitpicks, I can agree on Hi-Jump being Up B and the quality of life changes for Stone. Final Smash Thoughts: I personally think Ultra Sword is perfect as Kirby's Final Smash, but I do think it would be better off being in a cutscene format, much like how Return to Dream Land's endgame did it during the Magalor boss fight. I definitely wouldn't complain if Sakurai got the opportunity to change Kirby's Final Smash (and his moveset in general) without any hindrance from Nintendo's executives, however. Overall Thoughts: Besides my two nitpicks about the Specials, this is pretty great! It's a shame Nintendo (and probably Smash veteran's trauma over 64) is preventing future Smash games from broadening the horizons of Kirby's move pool, because I feel like Sakurai can experiment a lot with Kirby's move pool if given the chance to incorporate more Modern Kirby elements in Smash.
This moveset kind reminds me of the Rivals of Aether Workshop mod they have for Kirby. It hits most of this video’s same beats just with a few differences. (Like Jet as the up special and Staff as the down smash). Either way, this video was really fun to watch!
These are some great additions and cool refinements for Kirby and I love the idea of giving old moves moves more utility and extra flare to them, High Jump as an Up Special was the most intriguing and the fact that you can choose to dive bomb back down if see an opening gives the player more options.
Kirby could use his whip ability for the grab, his being like Samus's. Now for up-b kirby has lots of options, he could use the Jet or flying abilities, but I think tornado is the most iconic and would be the most fun to use, it could be like piranha plant's up-b but with more range and mobility but less duration. If tornado was added instead of high jump, wheel could changed for another ability, I think the bomb ability would be perfect since it's an iconic ability and would give kirby a projectile (it would work like in the games, just throwing it with a tap and being able to aim it while hold, if he uses it while running he would throw the bomb like a bowling ball)
bro ive been saying the SAME THING about kirbys down tilt for a year now, glad others agree that it would balance him out and make for better combo game
I feel like either Crash or Mike would've been a better choice compared to the Big-rig Mouthful Mode. Both abilities have appeared in nearly every single game with copy abilities. Sometimes together, other times it's one or the other. Crash would simply be similar the Smart Bomb item, but slightly stronger and gets slightly bigger compared to the Smart Bomb (although with the Final Smash Meter on it'll be on par with the Smart Bomb strength-wise), before Kirby suddenly and quickly charges up more energy which causes an explosion that launches the opponents that were previously caught which could potentially kill at higher percentages. The explosion itself would have a bit more reach compared to the initial attack which could be used to catch unsuspecting players off-guard thinking they're safe from the onslaught. Meanwhile Mike would have Kirby scream once on both sides, stunning any opponents caught in Kirby's amplified yelling, before unleashing a powerful *"CHESTO!"* that hits all around him with some serious (but not fatal at low percentage) knockback. That or just keep the Ultra Sword ability or give Kirby back his Cook ability but make it give only food items.
I really liked the improvements for Kirby’s moveset! Inhale function similarly to the modern era(Return to Dreamland specifically) was really good touch. Though I think having the Noble Ranger would be a good forward air
This is pretty solid, though making his side smash the regular hammer swing is a really bizarre choice to me. It would be much more fitting to have it as the Hammer Flip, making it his strongest but slowest smash attack which also has a good disjoint on it. I also don't think Wheel would be a great fit for Kirby personally, the sliding Stone maneuver would allow him to super armor his way through reckless attacks while approaching the opponent and Kirby is supposed to be a character that introduces players to Smash's fundamentals. As such I think a big disjoint and projectile in one move would fit best, and Beam is one of Sakurai's favorite copy abilities so it would be very fitting. Tapping B would do Beam Whip, a large arcing disjoint with moderate knockback, and holding it for a bit under a second would charge up the Wave Beam, a big energy projectile that can kill at higher percents. Kirby wouldn't be able to hold the charge like Samus' charge shot and it wouldn't be quite as big or powerful as a fully charged Charge Beam from Samus, but it would give Kirby a solid projectile that he can use to contend with zoners. Lastly, King Dedede can inhale energy projectiles so I don't see why Kirby shouldn't be able to, that feels like an unnecessary handicap.
Nice job remaking Kirby’s moveset! It feels like Kirby went from a low-tier to a mid-tier or maybe even upper-tier character. I certainly feel like Kirby needs an update, especially in terms of costumes and Final Smash. I remember being disappointed that Kirby’s Final Smash was kept the same from previous games, and I actually wanted the final attack on Void Termina from Star Allies instead as it was the most recent Kirby game when Smash Ultimate came out. I’m actually surprised you didn’t mention Shadow Kirby, as I believe it would make a great replacement for Kirby’s “Meta Knight” look. While looking at other comments suggesting other Final Smashes, I remembered that the Crash ability existed. Maybe Kirby’s Final Smash could be him wiping the screen with Crash in a similar way to Jigglypuff’s Final Smash or Hero’s Magic Burst. Either way, I don’t think that Final Smashes matter much because tournaments ban them.
These are going to be great and wonderful move-sets for Kirby and I agree with your remake of Kirby's move-sets I also like this video and I also enjoy this video
What a fun moveset update! As a long time Kirby fan I really liked how you tweaked some of the more outdated aspects of Kirby's moves while still staying true to his identity in Smash. I think the main thing Kirby is missing in smash (at least in terms of his moves) are tricks lifted from his copy abilities, and you gave him just that! That being said, the one disagreement I have is with his Final Smash, while Mouthful mode is clever I personally think that The Hypernova attack from Kirby Triple Deluxe would be more fitting. Kirby's most iconic ability is his inhale so what would be a more fitting Final Smash than a move where he sucks in everything in sight?
That Final Smash doesn’t really fit. I think it’s only natural that the Final Smash should be the newest Kirby game (at the time of Ultimate’s release); Star Allies gets a chance, with Team Star Allies! Kirby summons her Star Allies Sparkler and on the back, a random set of three characters out of King Dedede, Meta Knight, Bandana Waddle Dee, Rick, Kine, Coo, Marx, Gooey, Adeleine, Ribbon, Dark Meta Knight, Daroach, Magolor, Taranza, Susie, Fransisca, Flamberge, or Zan Partizane. Kirby will then don her heart goggles or face mask and the Sparkler charges forward, and anyone in its way will be pulled into a cinematic, playing out with Kirby shooting multiple stars to overwhelm the opponent, racking up tons of damage. Kirby will then summon all her enemies allies from all her games to fire a friendship laser at them, dealing massive knock back when the cinematic ends.
Overall, it seems pretty good, except for a few things. The needle up smash would clash with any Kirby hat he has, and his down smash is a bit overspecific. You could keep the disjointed weapon theme you have for his smashes and make his down smash where he pulls out a staff and it extends to hit on either side of him simultaneously and his up smash where he pulls out a sword, does a little somersault hop, slashing the sword in a circle, like a neutral air close to the ground. Also you should keep the ultra sword, since we also got return to dream land deluxe the same year.
I think a unique addition for Kirby would be that if you mash the b button while using the down special in midair, he spins briefly before falling, not adding any more power or size like heavy smash (name of the move this references), but allowing him to stall briefly in the air
Ah yes, Eggroll and Cross Chop are exactly what Kirby needed. In all seriousness, this is exactly the approach I'd take - keeping everything the same except the specials and a few select normals, although I definitely wouldn't make these specific changes
I think the thing I love the most about this is the new Up-Special. Ascending with High Jump alone was fine, but being able to dive back down after it just completes it. It sounds so fun to use. Seeing as the Slide Kick was (finally) incorporated into the moveset, I also think that the Air Pellet should have a place, perhaps as a forward aerial. I feel like down air would benefit more from some tornado-aesthetics than neutral air. Neutral air itself is iconic, but I'm almost thinking that the ice ability's aerial move would fit in better, having Kirby spin and emit icy mist. But maybe this is just me because I feel like it's wrong to have a fire- and a spark-move but none for ice. The Smash attacks are all brillant. Spark absolutely needs to be there and moving the hammer is much better as well. The only thing I would maybe change is having Needle stick out more towards the top than around Kirby. I'd always thought that maybe giving Kirby a Cutter projectile for a Side-B would be the way to do it, but maybe that would throw the playstyle off (plus he gets projectiles from copying other fighters a lot). Wheel is probably a fine alternative to that. Sure beats Hammer. Down-Throw is also a brillant little reference. Having some more iconic copy abilities referenced is always apprechiated, and this fits perfectly for Bomb. I do wish Beam was here somewhere (then again, Bandana Dee could make up for that, as you say yourself). Other than that, I feel like all of the most relevant ones are here (with Meta Knight taking care of Sword). If the the Final Smash is revamped, then I feel like Hypernova from Triple Deluxe would be my pick because I think it thematically fits better with Kirby as a whole as it's just an extension of his natural abilities.
I 'unno about that Final Smash, it has the same issue as his current one where it's something he won't use for more than one game and will feel outdated in no time. In that regard I always thought they just have just kept it as Cook (which he had in Brawl) or even given him Crash
8:53 since most of his other aerials are copy ability inspired, I feel like using the Drill ability from forgotten land would allow you to keep the ability basically the same but still have it be a copy ability like the other 4 aerials.
Hi Jump being his new up-special reminds me of the Upper Cutter variant move in Sm4sh. I liked having a version of cutter that traded the down slam for a faster and bigger rising attack.
I'm glad to finally see your remade take on Kirby since you handle this subject the best out of anybody I've seen on RUclips and this is one of the better Korby moveset remakes I've seen in general. However, as a huge Kirby fan and a Kirby co-main, I do have a few issues with this I want to point out. For starters, I'm not happy with the changes to his Smash Attacks. All of his Smash Attacks in Ultimate were already amazing as is, and these new ones feel too slow and clucky to be anything other than hail mary or hard call-out options. Not to mention that Down and Up Smash are too similar to each other in concept to be different attacks. The changes to Up Air and Down Throw are a bit odd and out of place compared to his pther moves in the same categories, but they can be mostly overlooked. The rest of the changes to the ariels and throws I'm okay with, although, I'd also decrease the landing lag to Kirby's Down so it can used for follow-ups and kill confirms more effectively than before. Now, about the specials... Neutral B no longer working on energy projectiles is a bad change in my opinion, since it means he'll struggle more against match ups like Samus, Falco, and Wolf, but the rest the additons are fine. The new stuff to Down B is fine, too. Side B sounds too risky to be used as an intended effective burst movement option. I think using universal end lag and more effective hitstun would make it more cohesive without nerfing its combo potential. The new Up B I do not like, since it's basically Lucario's Up b mixed with Clouds and that feels premises alone is a very odd thing to give Kirby, also, removing its spike is an atomic negative in my eyes. Maybe it's intended to work more like Clouds Up B, except you can drift during the climb a little more? I'm not sure. This one confuses me, and despite it growing on me, I think I'd rather have a better version of the more iconic final cutter personally. As for the new final smash, other commenters have already said it and I kind of agree, it feels too specific to Forgotten land and is a bit out of place compared to the rest of his kit, but it is a nice homage and reference at the same time, so with some fine tuning I guess it works. All this being said, I still do really like this remake, and outside of the smash attacks, it continues to grow on me. I look forward to your next character remake in the future! Perhaps, keeping on the Kirby train, King Dedede could receive an update in the near future as well? I hope so.
kirby more able to get in and getting more hits also fits so well with the modern main games too, gotta say this is a really well thought out moveset revamp for Kirby ^^ but yeah i agree with final smash should be something that's not a one off final attack but the crash ability would be a good one
Hello to everyone who looks at the comment section. But before moving forward, let's talk about: Kirby's weakness is that he is small, short, and lacks range, and my philosophy on designing character moves is to look at their games and understand them. For Kirby and Mario, simplicity makes diversity. What does that mean? It means that basic linear level design is made up for in their abilities. As you play the game, your new ability helps you decide what the best course of action is for your gameplay style. Since I'm a fan of his videos, I'm only here to give better ideas that I feel like he didn't touch on. So now I just feel like it's time for me to say my opinion on what remaking movesets should be for characters, so for my favorite pink boy, Kirby, let's grab our stars and let join our ally Kirby into smash with this rework of his moveset. To start off this comment, let's look at three things: his jab, his grab, and his dash attack. But before those, let's say for the comment that will be discussing reworking moving forward, everyone will have a gimmick that is getting a rework move set. So Kirby Jab stays the same. Dash Attack Kirby's dash attack now refers to a different fire ability, one from Kirby 64. When you combine fire and lighting, the top of Kirby's head bursts into flames, and he runs to put the fire out before falling on his face. While Kirby running with fire on his head is a combo-start move, ending with Kirby falling on his face is a kill move. Next is Kirby Grabs. Down Throw We'll borrow from the Super Smash Bros. fan game called Super Smash Flash 2 Beta, or for short, SSF2, and take from his pal Bandana Waddle Dee in SSF2. By using his down throw, you can angle and kill at late percents, setting up for combos at early percents. this move when Kirby holds the object before chucking it into the ground. Forward Throw We'll borrow the ability to call lasso as Kirby wraps his trusty laso around the opponent before chunking him forward. This move is a great damage-racking move. Up Throw Up throws and back throws will borrow from wrestler Kirby, but for his up throw, why don't we have him pick opponents and put them on his back as he comes down on his back, similar to what Bane did to Batman's back? This move is made to kill the foe and nothing more. Back Throw As stated before, this will borrow from wrestler Kirby, who puts his own spin on suplexing as he jumps in the air before suplexing the opponent. This is a suicide move near the ledge, but this is made for combos if not near a ledge. This was tough; I was only trying to get these three basic ideas out of the way because picking puff balls has so many different abilities that can fit into these slots. Why don't we slide into the next slot of moves for his ground moves, such as his tilt and his attacks? Down Tilt Talking about sliding, why don't we pull from his games or the fan game SSF2 with bandana waddle dee down tilt, which is similar to games but doesn't pop up the opponent until around 30% in SFF2, but in Smash, I can see this doesn't fully pop up the opponent until at least 22.3%? While moving, have Kirby come low to the ground as he slides forward. A great combo move and burst option. Forward Tilt Is taking an ability that is simple, ice, and having Kirby gush ice out of his mouth, similar to Bowser's fire breath. This move is just meant to rack up damage, and nothing more at a rare high percent can help by freezing the opponent. Up Tilt A simple movement of needles This move loses the ability to scoop up the opponent for the ability to have a direct anti-air opition. Kirby sprouts needles out of his hat, which has 3-5 needles to poke upward. Now for Kirby's smash attacks, they kill like any good smash attack does, but this is not all for the smash attacks because they all have a gimmick for all smash attacks when fully charged. Down Smash Down smash is Kirby using the bell ability, as Kirby takes the bells and clings them in a downward arch. But when fully charging down Smash, you'll be able to let two ripples of sound off on both sides as the bell ripple sound wave trips the opponents, but the opponents need to be near the bell ripple effects to trip; if they are close to the bell, Kirby will kill the opponent earlier. This will go for Kirby's other smash attack. A full-charge smash attack will leave Kirby wide open, so be careful. Forward Smash Kirby uses the ability hammer, and yes, the same ability is used in the video, but it is different because when fully charged, it turns back into how it was used as a side special. Kirby gains damage quickly as the hammer catches on fire as he is able to slowly move around, and no, he cannot turn around as he can only move small inches, but this is not all, as Kirby, with a fully charged hammer, is able to break shields and kill foes earlier. But this takes a long time to charge and hurts Kirby quickly, so be careful how you use this move because if you miss it, it leaves you wide open. Up Smash Kirby dawns the circus hat as he juggles three bowling pins in rotation. It's a good combo move lacking on the kill side; it needs to be on a platform that's closer to the blast zone to kill, but what if Kirby can kill with this move? Well, let's look. Kirby fully charges up Smash as Kirby now juggles the bowling pins at super-fast speed, scooping up the opponent to kill them instead of knocking them away when they come close. With fire, Kirby gets hurt, so be careful because this will leave you open and will add damage to your health. Finally, let's see what it means: the sky is the limit for Kirby as we now tackle his ariels. Netutal Air Kirby uses the spark ability to let out electric circles around him, drag the foe down, or even move the enemy back. Down Air Kirby keeps the same down air, makes lit longer on start up, and comes out with a nasty spin, allowing Kirby to spike foes at late percent, but at early percent, Kirby will drag his foe down with to start combos. Forward Air Why don't you use this and set up a gimmick? We all know how important it is to let out puffs of air to jump, so why don't you make the attack as Kirby exhales out the air, making Kirby fall? The gimmick is a great way to refresh your jumps, but only if you touch the stage or a platform. I don't like the gimmick part, but it should still be Kirby exhaling air and pushing himself slightly back. Up Air Kirby uses the parsole ability. Kirby takes out the parsole, sticks it up, and twists around. This is another drag move for Kirby, and similar to Kirby's forward air, it can have a gimmick that makes Kirby stall in the air. Back Air Kirby uses the cutter's ability to get some range as he swings the cutter around to knock the foe away from him. Overall, a good kill move. finally coming to an end with Kirby specials. netural special It is similar to the video. Down special Let's take a page. SSF2 book again, let's give Kirby Down Special the same treatment SSf2 gave Sonic Down Special. You have to hold down special before letting Kirby go with the Kirby Wheel ability, as you'll be able to jump and turn around with this ability, and when you hit opposite with down special, you'll be able to follow with any aerials. Forward special Kirby uses the jet ability as Kirby gets ready to blast off with the ability to cal jet, but you have to hold to go as far as you're able to angle this, but you don't so far. Don't worry; you'll not go into freefall. Up Special Similar to one in the video Finally, Kirby's Final Smash: This one will have you target your star toward the foes. If you hit a foe, it will come back around to scoop you up and have you whip the microphone for a killer finish.
Great Concept,You should definitely tackle some more character movesets that need a Revamp and probably more Characters coming to Smash like Larry-Boy and Chase McCain for example.
12:45 Personnally, while I think this new moveset would be very cool to see, I think his Side B should be him using cutter ability, like in the game, to launch a sharp projectile that would come back like Link's boomerang. And even further, Kirby could take some time to charge it to make it bigger and stronger, and by pressing up or down, the projectile's vertical direction could be slightly influenced. This could make a pretty solid projectile for Kirby, something that he always lacked.
Your Side Smash isn't Hammer Swing. That would be Hammer/Hammer Nail/Big Hammer. Hammer Swing is when Kirby spins Horizontally, just like Ice Climber's Side Special. Either way, why take out Hammer Flip completely in the moveset? Before Forgotten Lands came out, Kirby could never move, let alone jump until Star Allies, while charging Hammer Flip
What'd be funny is if the hitbox that stuns opponents on his Final Smash is actually him inhaling the truck. It appears behind him, he turns around and inhales it, then when it bounces on the back of his throat, that hurts opponents.
The only 2 things i would add are to the inhale special and wheel: Not only would inhale have the buffs you gave, but if you hold the button long enough, it could become his super inhale! This would give it extra range, and catch fighters more easily (because he's inhaling harder), and let him inhale multiple projectiles at once if need be. That part would be more niche, but would let him fire a stronger projectile like when he inhales 2 things in the games. Wheel could be charged up by quickly holding down after using the move. This could be used for mixups because that move is actually decently strong in kirby planet robobot, and the burst of speed would be MUCH faster than just using wheel normally... like twice as fast.
I liked your moveset for him I feel like Kirby's modern games don't really get much representation and love outside of his Final Smash and spirits (There was never a single stage) One character I would *ABSOLUTELY LOVE* to see get remaked is Wario himself... there's *lots of potential* involving the Wario Land games you can pull from
This is *PERFECT.* But I think the Dive from the Hi-Jump should Spike. If the original Up B and similar ones like Cloud's can do it, I don't see why Hi-Jump shouldn't.
I usually don't like when people just want to give a lot of copy abilities to Kirby for Smash, since he's meant to represent how basic he is without them, but I think you found a pretty good balance on both sides of the spectrum
I would love to see him equip his iconic hats whenever he uses certain moves. Like if Kirby uses a move from suplex, we should see his blue headband. Or if he uses a fire ability, we should see the flame crown on his head. Would be a really nice visual touch to his moves
The problem with other fan made Kirby moves is that they try and squeeze every single Kirby move because “he does it” and non flow together. (In smash ultimate S he has a projectile and a charge move???? Like what?? The only character with a charge move is Terry.)
Random neutral specials don’t usually help Kirby. I think they should categorize the roster to give Kirby unique neutral specials that fit his moveset based on 4 or 5 of his actual copy abilities.
I like this alot! The basic attack and smash attack changes are perfect. The only thing I would change is adding the ability to charge the side and up special for more distance at the cost of vulnerability. And since we gave Up special the ability to dive down, I dont think we NEED stone, thought adding the sliding part is funny. Maybe add an ability from the newer games like Drill or Gun in its place? Final smash can be the final attack from Star Allies though, thats way better if we really dont want to keep Ultra Sword, which I like on Kirby.
I love what you did with the moves that it sounds, and plays more like Kirby then smashed us. There’s only a couple things I would add. I don’t know about spark being down smash. I’m totally fine with it. It’s just sounds a little weird just how the move works. I would’ve liked to see back Ariel based off of wrestlers and Fighters 2. I would make the phone smashed different because that is a spoiler I would have used Hypernova that would’ve been amazing to inhale everything and just spit it out with the big Fourtex Kirby crates but still I love this move set. Thanks for the video and everyone have a amazing year and God bless you all.
Crash would be a good option too, but obviously I would prefer Mic anyway because of that iconic “CHESO!”
@@king_poyo64 Fun fact: When thinking up an idea for "the ultimate ability", I actually initially thought of Crash before I remembered Mic existed
yeah i prefer Mike instead of just going with whatever new big thing from the new game came out, besides a truck isn't as flashy as Kirby screaming
Victory Screen Ideas (only 2, since he should keep at least one Kirby dance):
Hooo he is a sweepy boi -w-
Hammer space. I see what you did there. 🕷
@@JohnboyTheGamer Not sure what you mean. Hammer Space is a common term. It wasn't specifically referring to his side special.
I'm pretty sure charging only affects damage, not height.
It does give more height and would be similar to sephiroth up b but this one can grab the ledge
Kirby: **becomes a truck**
Sonic: Why do I hear boss music?
Down throw was such a cute addition. Hopefully it also gets the fireworks effect from recent titles as well.
I feel like the final smash could change to Big-Rig Mouth, but Ultra Sword is such a classic now, being a typical idea for a 'super move' that also fits perfectly with Kirby's aesthetic.
And if someone would like to change for something unique, hypernova is right there
Kirby would suck a big area but not all of the stage and he can angle it some objects would appear ( the truck would be of course smaller, the mirror form amazing mirror, and even the ultra sword) so he can suck enemies easier.
Other things: every object ( except the mirror) will send the enemy to the air and when enemies are in the air it would be easier to suck
The mirror would trap 1 enemy in it so kirby can guarantee sucking them
He would finish with a laser, with every enemy sucked would make the laser do more damage
Sorry if long
I always kinda thought his final smash should be the Hypernova Kirby. That ability really feels like what would happen if you just super-powered Kirby, which is what the smash ball does. And I think it could be a real spectacle, too.
@@sirreginaldfishingtonxvii6149 well, it does make sense but is not that iconic, the star sparkler would work better
His current down throw is more iconic... Its so iconic that they gave it to Meta Knight too. Its also one of his Suplex Ability moves, and having all the throws keep the same theme makes more sense to me.
Maybe Kirby could drop his Copy Ability through a Shield Special instead of through his taunts
i would like that a lot better
The big problem I’ve always had with his inhale in smash is that it can’t consistently catch and spit out projectiles, which is his main way of counteracting long distance problems, and it heavily cripples his character in smash too because he has no real way of fighting ranged characters, despite being able to do so in even his earliest games
I mean that’s a balance thing characters kinda need a way to keep Kirby out.
I feel the same about slide down tilt, hammer fsmash, needle up smash, and wheel side B. I feel vindicated
Not a full-blown move, but Kirby could use a unique shielding animation based off the Ice ability. (Kirby has had the ability to guard in lots of games, but on multiple occasions, Ice has been the only ability that completely blocks all damage.)
That would mean sacrificing the block animation reference wich every single ability but ice (and gigant sword) uses and is more iconic to the character
Tho if possible it should happen only with the blue kirby alt
use mirror aesthetic (maybe relect when parry)@@vik.o1598
Smash bros blocks in general are based on kirby so I think if any character in the game shouldn't have a unique block its him
Kirby does have a unique shielding animation though, it's ripped right from Super Star (which the entire blocking mechanic is likely based on)
Weirdly enough, shields as a concept might already be based on Mirror's unique shield from Super Star, so doing more to reinforced that concept with a rainbow shimmer effect might be more inline.
Sakurai would if he could, but alas, Big N's executives say "NO"
Very interesting take on reworking the pink puff!
Even better if you can waggle the L-Stick for the Encore alternative, or perhaps even include a couple Star Allies for the ear-rupturing Fatal Chorus!
putting down slide in the thumbnail is very respectable because thats one of the most prevalently wanted and Obvious moves to add to his moveset in smash bros
like seriously where tf has it been 😭

You forgot the religious cross move
He forgot the gun and nuke as the final Smash.

He's not actually Christian. It's a funny joke, and I love it as much as the next guy, but this is a serious video, so no jokes like that.
@@shaddowofthelost1750 I know
Fawful's Minion feelings on this pink puffball was that he needs way less foot. He's effectively Sonic but *F E E T.*
Great work!
I cant wait to see how you remake my main!! always great content!
With all of Kirby's abilities, you could have multiple completely different movesets and it would still feel like Kirby.
Exactly, you get it!
So true

Kirby’s new forward smash should also turn grey when using his 6th alt.
Yeah, Dedede & Kirby's Hammers not being gray or sepia-tone is a weird oversight given the polish both series are historically known for
I mean. It's better than 80% of his moveset being
*F O O T*
@@N12015That was what i was thinking. I imagine the animation looking similar to the original sword swing from Kirbys adventure.
Everything is great but I wouldn't get rid of Final Cutter, it may be a not great move, but the "Isha-HEY!" voiceline is too iconic to throw out. (Also the cutter is just an iconic move in the Kirby series)
Good concept overall, I'm glad Wheel and Hi-Jump are there. I think you did a good job of not over-relying on references for this one.
Keep it up.
gave your 69th like.
Kirby needs to evolve in his moveset.
I can’t learn Moonblast or Fiary Wind but i can learn Dazzling Gleam and Disarming Voice
Kirby NEEDED this.
@@CrazyHand7894 That as well.
IMO Beam Whip should be a Forward Air (just don’t make it too long).
I personally think Echo Fighters should be higher priority on the remake list. Btw, can’t wait to see how you handle Bandana Waddle Dee’s remake!
Instead of the bomb throw, you could have Kirby Megaton Punch them!
For his Inhale, I think it should start up with the normal reach and frame data, and then reach further after a couple more frames.
I really appreciate the Remake It! series, you've got a good eye for it!
Megaton punch references should be saved for if bandana waddle dee gets in imo
KIRBY VIDEO!! LES GOOOOO!!
Will give my thoughts now. I'm just glad this video exists. 😊
I very much like this revamp. I think you made Needle work without having it be weird, and I think the Down Throw is really funny. 😂
Two things I'd change up:
First, I think it's fine if Kirby was able to spit out all projectiles into a star.
If there was one thing I would like ovehauled in this take, it would be Inhale giving you the cannon Copy Abilities.
Down smash- sword ability, functions how it does in forgotten land with the charge up and would work along the lines of toon link
Up b- keep it as final cutter but it would be better as a out of shield option and holding the b button has it function how it currently does with higher knock back but just tapping the button would have it work like the smash 4 custom move upper cutter
Side b- uses the bomb ability where he throws a bomb with an arc where it does moderate damage but excels in helping with neutral and ledge trapping allowing him to get in easier on his opponent without being to annoying or oppressive for zoning as it’s function more as a combo move rather than a zoning tool.
XD
Taunt Thoughts: It was perfect.
I'd love the Festival ability to their final smash. Just seeing everyone dance, and then they take massive damage, it's a funny thought.
As usual, love your remakes and designs.:D
bro ive been saying the SAME THING about kirbys down tilt for a year now, glad others agree that it would balance him out and make for better combo game
Loving these videos, man. I'd love to see your concept for Shantae!
I know you did a remake it for Ganondorf, but could you do a showcase of what Ganondorf’s Moveset could be like if it is entirely based on TOTK?
I need this as a mod. Would love to experiment with some combos
I hope so.
Kirby fan here
i agree with this it is really cool
also you can charge Stone in the games by holding the button longer id add that too
Nintendo needs to take notes
kirby more able to get in and getting more hits also fits so well with the modern main games too, gotta say this is a really well thought out moveset revamp for Kirby ^^ but yeah i agree with final smash should be something that's not a one off final attack but the crash ability would be a good one
Long as you add Jet to his moveset ;)
Dash Attack
Kirby's dash attack now refers to a different fire ability, one from Kirby 64. When you combine fire and lighting, the top of Kirby's head bursts into flames, and he runs to put the fire out before falling on his face. While Kirby running with fire on his head is a combo-start move, ending with Kirby falling on his face is a kill move.
Next is Kirby Grabs.
Down Throw
We'll borrow from the Super Smash Bros. fan game called Super Smash Flash 2 Beta, or for short, SSF2, and take from his pal Bandana Waddle Dee in SSF2. By using his down throw, you can angle and kill at late percents, setting up for combos at early percents. this move when Kirby holds the object before chucking it into the ground.
Forward Throw
We'll borrow the ability to call lasso as Kirby wraps his trusty laso around the opponent before chunking him forward. This move is a great damage-racking move.
Up Throw
Up throws and back throws will borrow from wrestler Kirby, but for his up throw, why don't we have him pick opponents and put them on his back as he comes down on his back, similar to what Bane did to Batman's back? This move is made to kill the foe and nothing more.
Back Throw
As stated before, this will borrow from wrestler Kirby, who puts his own spin on suplexing as he jumps in the air before suplexing the opponent.
Down Tilt
Talking about sliding, why don't we pull from his games or the fan game SSF2 with bandana waddle dee down tilt, which is similar to games but doesn't pop up the opponent until around 30% in SFF2, but in Smash, I can see this doesn't fully pop up the opponent until at least 22.3%? While moving, have Kirby come low to the ground as he slides forward. A great combo move and burst option.
Forward Tilt
Is taking an ability that is simple, ice, and having Kirby gush ice out of his mouth, similar to Bowser's fire breath. This move is just meant to rack up damage, and nothing more at a rare high percent can help by freezing the opponent.
Up Tilt
A simple movement of needles This move loses the ability to scoop up the opponent for the ability to have a direct anti-air opition. Kirby sprouts needles out of his hat, which has 3-5 needles to poke upward.
Now for Kirby's smash attacks, they kill like any good smash attack does, but this is not all for the smash attacks because they all have a gimmick for all smash attacks when fully charged.
Down Smash
Down smash is Kirby using the bell ability, as Kirby takes the bells and clings them in a downward arch.
Forward Smash
Kirby uses the ability hammer, and yes, the same ability is used in the video, but it is different because when fully charged, it turns back into how it was used as a side special.
Up Smash
Kirby dawns the circus hat as he juggles three bowling pins in rotation.
Netutal Air
Kirby uses the spark ability to let out electric circles around him, drag the foe down, or even move the enemy back.
Down Air
Kirby keeps the same down air, makes lit longer on start up, and comes out with a nasty spin, allowing Kirby to spike foes at late percent, but at early percent, Kirby will drag his foe down with to start combos.
Forward Air
Why don't you use this and set up a gimmick? We all know how important it is to let out puffs of air to jump, so why don't you make the attack as Kirby exhales out the air, making Kirby fall? The gimmick is a great way to refresh your jumps, but only if you touch the stage or a platform. I don't like the gimmick part, but it should still be Kirby exhaling air and pushing himself slightly back.
Up Air
Kirby uses the parsole ability. Kirby takes out the parsole, sticks it up, and twists around. This is another drag move for Kirby, and similar to Kirby's forward air, it can have a gimmick that makes Kirby stall in the air.
Back Air
Kirby uses the cutter's ability to get some range as he swings the cutter around to knock the foe away from him. Overall, a good kill move.
finally coming to an end with Kirby specials.
netural special
It is similar to the video.
Down special
Let's take a page.
Forward special
Kirby uses the jet ability as Kirby gets ready to blast off with the ability to cal jet, but you have to hold to go as far as you're able to angle this, but you don't so far. Don't worry; you'll not go into freefall.
Up Special
Similar to one in the video
Finally, Kirby's Final Smash: This one will have you target your star toward the foes. If you hit a foe, it will come back around to scoop you up and have you whip the microphone for a killer finish.
Imagine being able to choose which super ability you would use depending on how far away the opponent was from you
Great Concept,You should definitely tackle some more character movesets that need a Revamp and probably more Characters coming to Smash like Larry-Boy and Chase McCain for example.
I think Bell Kirby's "Sting-ding", where he smashes two bells on the ground on both sides of him could potentially be an interesting Down Smash.
I loved watching every second of this
Ngl, i was surprised to see that there wasn't a yo-yo move, seeing just how much of a fan favourite ability it was
What'd be funny is if the hitbox that stuns opponents on his Final Smash is actually him inhaling the truck. It appears behind him, he turns around and inhales it, then when it bounces on the back of his throat, that hurts opponents.
As a kirby Main i approve
I liked your moveset for him
I feel like Kirby's modern games don't really get much representation and love outside of his Final Smash and spirits
(There was never a single stage)
One character I would *ABSOLUTELY LOVE* to see get remaked is Wario himself... there's *lots of potential* involving the Wario Land games you can pull from
To be fair, Sakurai did want to include an Epic Yarn stage in Smash 4...
*_BUT THEN NINTENDO RELEASED YOSHI'S WOOLY WORLD._*
This is *PERFECT.*
But I think the Dive from the Hi-Jump should Spike.
As a huge Kirby fan, this seems about perfect!
