About that "I won?" victory animation. Maybe at the start he's in his clapping pose, and he only realises he won when all the spotlights converge on him.
Victory Screen Ideas: 1. (As Delzethin suggested) Luigi begins clapping, mistakenly thinking he's one of the runner ups. When the announcer says his name, he pauses with a shocked expression, looking from side to side before a joyful smile takes over his face. He jumps up in the air in the classic pose, one fist raised high, saying "Luigi won!". He changes that fist to a wave as he lands, happily waving to the presumed crowd. 2. Same finger-guns animation, but now he has a noticeable sweat drop on his face and occasionally glances towards the camera nervously, indicating he's unsure if what he's doing is meant to be cool. 3. Mario accompanies Luigi for this victory screen, patting him on the back and congratulating him which leaves Luigi beaming. Mario runs off screen just in time for the name call and leaves Luigi giving a light fist-pump motion with both hands, excited that his brother was happy with his win.
I love this. I always like when Nintendo treats the Mario cast as cartoon characters, personality and all! So this feels like a great change to the lack of personality for the bros represented in Smash.
Well now Mario could have two unique victory animations, one for the piranha plant, probably rubbing his butt and not clapping due to being bitten by piranha plant, and another for his bro, where he is clapping happily that his bro won.
Hmm… you know, with Mario and Luigi Brothership out, shouldn’t the forward smash use his ice powers instead? I’m sure the devs would want that OP Thunder Jump Punch.
10:18 Hammer Moves! Finally! I think it's a crime that neither Mario nor Luigi have them in their moveset already. I love the fact that his Up-Special is now chargable. Luigi has always been known for his jumping ability, and Super Paper Mario emphazises on this by giving him the Super Jump, which is a chargeable jump punch. It also references Super Mario Bros. 2. It also balances the risk-reward-aspect much better than the old move while not taking a away from the spectacle of the move (which is well deserved again considering that Luigi is known for his jumps). Some years back, I'd also did some revamping for Luigi's moveset (albeit with much less knowledge of the game's technical mechanics than you), and I'd come to the same conclusion of making the Poltergust his Down-Special. I just had it suck in the opponent, but having it chargeable makes much more sense. I'm not sure if I'd still make its primary function to fire the plunger as opposed to the more iconic vacuum (especially since that is now not his Final Smash anymore), but I get that it's probably to more consistently to hit with it, but maybe a really powerful but narrow windbox would do as well. Also, as a huge, huge fan of the Mario & Luigi-games and especially Dream Team (that one is seriously underrated), I adore the new Final Smash for him. You continue to blow me away with incredible movesets that fit perfectly. It's not over-reliant on references like the Thunderhand, yet still takes from a variety of sources to diversify the moves, but int he end still keeps true to the playstyle of the character as best as possible.
Once again, another excellent rework! However, I do think Luigi could have a few alternate costumes like Mario. Maybe something like Mr. L or Gooigi. Edit: I also kinda wish there were a little more moves from Luigi's Mansion.
My thoughts as a Lugii fan and main: Not a fan of the new nair and dair, but many of the other moves look great. The new up B is excellent, keeping its strength but balancing it with a nerf in speed. I feel like I would switch side and down special, with down special acting like how you described, but moving in the direction inputted after the move, so it feels similar to the current one, just with a lot more travel. Leaning into the lightning from superstar saga is really cool!
Yeah, the problem with Luigi's combo game is mostly from Up-B. Grabbing you and you losing 60-70% is natural for a combo-focused grappler, and it's not an issue. The issue is then getting a stock afterwards due to Up-B. Genuinely changing that, Remove tornado's invincibility for better recovery and Down throw's end lag, and buffing to compensate should make Luigi a fair fighter. Also, I don't think is a good idea to mess up with his main strenght: The blazing frame data. Both plumbers have incredible frame data to compensate their poor range and average at best speed. Remove that and we get a Kirby, a character that just does not work and people doesn't like due to lacking tools to approach while needing to. Add the removal of tether/Z-Air alongside the lack of air mobility and attack speed Mario has and we get just a character that gets walled out all day, even more than before, and Luigi players won't enjoy at all in practice; that was Luigi in smash 64 and Brawl btw.
Wild how the only totally new normals he has are Doc’s forward smash and Yoshi’s down air lol. And yeah, up special could be adjusted to be more fair, but I think a lot of complaints about Luigi’s competitive balance are just due to Smash having no good grapplers for like 3 1/2 games and suddenly people have to get used to a fighting style that’s fairly common in other FGs lol
Okay, how would you feel if dair also gave a small upwards recovery, like corrin back air but with the momentum pushing up? And if nair could spike and bounce you off projectiles like the spike ball pirrahnah plant has? Would those be good enough trade offs? If not, would nair be better as a replacement dair with those changes and instead keep nair the same, would that work? I'm a huge Luigi fan, but not good at using him in game, so I'm curious about a fans option who does play him, especially when you can milk out some more references out of a move and give it a unique utility, like again, bouncing off projectiles. I don't think there's a single person that can recover off someone else's projectiles, especially not on a dime, so I'm curious how that'd work.
@@snuffysam but another grappler, incinaroar, isn't complained about, so clearly it's not the play style at fault. In fact, we've had worse grapplers before, thanks to ice climbers d sync, meaning the archetype isn't new as you're claiming it is, especially given the biggest meme around smash is quote, don't get grabbed.
Really interesting ideas! I actually had an eerily similar idea for his Side Special, being a burst movement Green Tornado, but it differed in the fact that it was projectile invulnerable, something I think Smash Bros. is lacking in that other fighting games have embraced for years, and I kept the misfire property, just because I thought it was funny. Still though, I love what you did with him, and I'd be super excited to play this version of him! Also I'm interested to see you revamp Lucario for... reasons. Replacing Luigi's dash attack is a bit of a crime though I can't lie lol.
If the next Smash Bros redesigns Luigi, keeping Green Missile in his moveset can work as long as it flow better with his grappler game plan while still having its goofy nature in tact. That said, the idea of having the move be projectile invulnerable is interesting but could help Luigi combat characters with longer reach if it’s balanced well. Flying through a projectile with a misfire would be hilarious!
Better yet, why not make it a reflector? If it grabs people, why not have it grab items and projectiles as well to throw, giving it more damage during and after the tornado, with everyone being thrown out, then the items and projectiles. I personally also think unique interactions like bouncing off of them with the proposed nair would be beneficial, instead of negating or reflecting being the only options that interact with them. That said, it'd probably be better as a d air the more I think about it. It'd be closer to the original while giving it a different function, perhaps you could justify a spike as well. N air would either remain the same or swap to be the proposed d air, perhaps with an updraft to help with recovery.
Thank you good sir, you managed to do something unique with the thunderhand outside of neutral b reskin and made it interesting alongside making the poltergust more than just a grab. Well well done!
I'm always a sucker (heh) for parts of crossover fighter movesets that actually acknowledge the crossover. It makes the world of the fighting game feel more like its own thing, and adds a little bit more charm and uniqueness to its take on beloved characters. Needless to say, having E. Gadd whip up a new Poltergust model for Smash is such a fun in-character idea! Same goes for the rest of the moveset! Huge fan of all the M&L stuff you pulled inspiration for in particular.
Interesting rework. I think I would keep luigi's regular grab the same as it in ultimate, maybe give it the ability to grab ledges. But for his down B, I would still use the poltergust as a command grab, but this one focus on the vacuum aspect of the poltergust and the slam ability from Luigi's mansion 3. essentially whenever the input is used, Luigi pulls out the poltergust and creates a weak but large cone shaped windbox in front of him pulling in items and characters alike. You can hold the button to keep the windbox active and keep sucking. For items that get sucked in, I would make luigi automatically equip/use the item if possible. whenever a fighter gets sucked to the nozzle, Luigi would then proceed to wind up and swing the nozzle and character over his head and slam them behind him, lunching them behind him too. However I would add if you press the button again during this, Luigi will do a second slam after the first swinging them back over towards the way he was first facing. As a means of getting a some extra damage at lower percents or if you want to launch the fighter in the other direction. if he gets someone in midair with this the slam move then becomes a powerful but committal spike as luigi chucks the caught fighter directly downwards.
Hmmm... Definately better than his default Smash moveset but I really wish more moves would have used the Poltergust. The Luigi's Mansion series IS his very own after all. That said you made some very good choices by adding hammer moves and the new Final Smash. Gotta say, I respect the M&L approach. Bonus points for removing Green Missile and his planking taunt too. Very good reworked moveset overall!
As someone who is planning to make my own Luigi rework, I am happy to see that it's different from what I have in mind. But also too I do like this a lot for what it is. There are the few things I do feel are a bit out there, even if I like where they come from. But overall, yeah this is nice.
Oooh, I really love this idea! Only things I feel like we missed are the Poltergust's sucking properties, and an extension to Luigi's FS. Maybe the foe that gets hit being whipped into a tornado that sends them into the night sky, where an awaiting Dreamy Luigi throws the Star Driver for a more exagerated finisher to the move.
I like the ideas for his smash attacks and specials, but here are my proposals for most of them: F-Smash: Strobulb - Luigi's charges his Strobulb and blasts a large area with light, stunning opponents and leaving them with high lag, allowing Luigi to perform another move. (Unsure whether it should be able to be angled yet) {Inspired by Luigi’s Mansion Dark Moon} U-Smash: Hammer Swing - A similar motion to his current Up Smash, Luigi Swings his hammer from behind him, to above him, to in front of him, dealing similar damage (but now with a little more range) {Inspired by Mario & Luigi series} D-Smash: Luigi holds his Poltergust G-00 in his hand and fires it downwards after he charges, causing him to jump a little, panic, and send a windbox sending people away from him. There is a medium hitbox and small spike hitbox to the move (potentially for 2-framing) {Direct reference to LM3}. Neutral Special: Iceball - Luigi shoots a ball of ice that flies horizontally for some time before dissipating. This would behave similarly to Luigi’s current fireball and first neutral special idea. However, it would move more slowly and freeze opponents on contact. If it hits the opponent, they would be subject to Smash Bros Ice Physics - being frozen briefly before flying (dependent on damage) - or would be frozen still in an ice block where they are for the entire animation. Up Special: Polter-Blast - Luigi performs a move similar to his Down Smash. However, he can angle it in any direction. It contains a spike and a windbox on the gust blown away from Luigi. There is a hitbox in the front. Like Diddy Kong’s Up-B, there is a slight charge to the move. However, this charge does not contain a hitbox. To compensate, the distance traveled goes further than his current Up-B and the trajectory can be altered. {Reference to LM3} Here are a few other things I’d like to see. His entrance should have him being assembled in pixels that come from a nearby monitor camera. This is to reference Luigi’s Mansion Dark Moon. Additionally, he should have new alts such as Gooigi, Golf Luigi, Casino Luigi, and Mr. L.
I agree, except the ice ball attack. I see it as electrical; similar to Pichu's jolt. Not Pikachu's because his attack is strong and Pichu's is weaker; a trait I believe would be similar to Luigi's since he doesn't use the attack often and has only used it in the Super Star Saga series. Also he's been known to hide in barrels. What about that being added to a win pose as a reference?
To be honest I like these smash attacks more than Delzethins. Most of the moveset I'm fine but this one has more Luigi's Mansion references, which is arguably Luigi's most well known appearance.
The only disagreement for me is the up special because while it makes more sense his current up-B is too iconic at this point to replace. I think Delzethin has the right idea here.
You know what would be a cool thing to add for the Poltergust is maybe adding something like the Elemental Medals as part of the command throws depending on the direction, it's a mechanic from the first game that I'd love to be represented again
There is some people who have made custom specials that have more Luigi's Mansuons references, so I suggest you look for those. They're in this comment section somewhere.
I always hear about incorporating Thunderhand into his moveset, but... man, I just find it weird considering it straight up only showed up once while Luigi has been able to use Fireballs in many more titles than he's been associated with electricity
Also, while cool, It looks way too similar to Dr. Mario and I feel it lacks practical aplications the current one does. Is a good job but i feel it's way too referential and unpractical.
I know how you feel. Unless I'm mistaken, Wario is usually associated with electricity and lightning more instead of Luigi. Wario Land 3: Electric Wario Mario Golf Toadstool Tour: The sound of thunder plays if Wario hits the ball perfectly at max power. Wario: Master of Disguise: Sparky Wario Mario Golf Super Rush: Lightning Blast Feel free to list more. Or correct me if I'm wrong.
@@TheWispGuy WarioWare Gold also has Wario use lightning powers during Wario Deluxe. And Super Mario Strikers has electricity surround him and the ball during his Super Strike.
After you gave him an F on your ranking designs video, I have been waiting to see what you did have in mind for him. Would especially love to see your Mewtwo take in the future!
I like this new take on Luigi. I’d really like to a remake it for Diddy Kong’s moveset; i think he suffers from the same problems as Luigi where the smash team keeps doubling down on their misinterpretation of Diddy. A revamp take on Diddy’s moveset can remove the annoying elements of his moveset and redirect his moveset to a rushdown + footsies character that plays spacing games to open up opponents for getting in; while also making him feel like less of an annoying and generic monkey, and more like his cocky yet endearing self.
If only you waited until Mario Wonder, Luigi could be given some animations from that game. Hell, I wouldn’t be surprised if the next Smash game does exactly that for the applicable Mario characters (unless Peach gets a rework based on her upcoming solo game while Daisy keeps the old moveset).
Another great rework, Del. I enjoyed the incorporation of his lightning powers, and the final smash sounds incredible. Between the two at the end, I'm torn. I love Kirby and would be interested in a redesign, but your Pokémon movesets are some of your best, and I know you'd do Lucario some much needed justice.
this is why I want another smash game. I don't care if it has less characters at launch. Re-works like this would make the game feel new and exciting. I heard a lot of people just asking for more fighters passes. but having a new game with updates like this would be so much more fun and fresher.
Hey, that’s-a pretty good! Highlighting his personality more through his animations and attack choices is just VERY endearing and charming in the best Luigi way possible! Also, I am glad that his old moves are kept but with touch ups so that Luigi as well as the player would feel like that they EARNED whatever they went for, whether that’s a grab from a read or landing a fully charged U Special at the end of his combos! Finally, the 0-to-death setup is no longer possible; that’s gotta please the crowd! That said, I think a LITTLE more can be done, like for his Down Throw. At low percentages, it would only bounce them off the ground for follow-ups, but at higher ones, they get buried; I feel that this would make the bury more of an accomplishment than an easy attack to the face. As it stands, I’m sure that what you gave him will show that Player 2 can very much be #1! [9/10]
Good video, while I like luigi's current moveset being similar to Mario's with a weird twist. This moveset is a good switch to the current version as it sounds more fun and fair. I also like how you mentioned some ideas like the spin jump, flutter kick, and thunder jump as I had similar ideas for luigi.
I love this rework! It's really well done! I think I only have two issues. One, I'm not much of a fan of the new Dash Attack. I just don't think it's as interesting as the one we have now. I'd much prefer that. Second, I think he should use the actual vacuum aspect of the Poltergust in this game. I'd make that the Down Special, and let the plunger stay as the grab. It just feels awkward not having it in his kit in any way. But otherwise, yeah. I love it! Especially the way you implemented the electricity. That's awesome!
Not a Main, but I'm Glad you Included his Atmokinesis (Atmokinesis refers to Weather, but it was the only Result that Showed up when I looked up Thunder-Kinesis to Mario's Pyro) Always thought he should have a Thunderball instead of a Fireball since it would Better Tie in to the Character (at least I think so), but this is still a Great Compromise Common Delzethin W
I would give him his slippery traction back. Why did Ultimate remove this? It's one of the two defining differences he has from Mario in the games where he is different from him.
Wasn't quite sure how'd you go about this, but I like basically every idea you propose here! I especially like the Hammer being used for the throws, the new Down Air, and both uses of Thunderhand. My only question would be for the new Side-B's animation, would it be a full body spin like Luigi Tornado, or a spinning kick like in the Battle League footage you showed? Either could work, I just didn't think that was super clear. As for the next time... still want to see Kirby, he really needs it.
Idea: Do a moveset for Sol Badguy. You basically have put the Tention meter for your Sonic and gave mitiple characters a outright INSTALL. So he would be a joy to see how you work in this daredevil into Smash! (Btw, mix Xrd and Strive for his moveset. Order Sol as a alt costume) PS he has 3 useable taunts ("useable" because his classic MIDDLE FINGER wouldn't fly.)
I'll be honest, I really like Green Missile. It's iconic at this point and super useful, so I would keep Green Missile at least. But you did an excellent job with everything else and I completely agree with the fact that Smash didn't do Luigi justice.
Some thoughts from someone whose favorite video game character is Luigi, although he isn't my main. First off, I love showing his personality more by giving a taunt that waves to the crowd and by having a victory where he says "I won? I won!" I also like the Super Jump Punch requiring a charge rather than a sweetspot. Still, I can't help but think that Luigi is balanced by his terrible overall mobility with strong, quick attacks.
As someone who HEAVILY disagreed with you giving Luigi’s design a super low rating, I do like the majority of what you did with changing his animations & moveset. Although I would still personally keep Green Missile & the Poltergust where they are. Those feel way too iconic to his Smash incarnation to get rid of.
Ok imma be honest. Idk how many characters in smash you are going to Remake, but I’m sure it’s gonna be way more then enough content for me to enjoy until smash 6 ever comes out. I already like rewatching the previous remake it videos. I’m honestly getting a lot entertained with this then playing smash ultimate sometimes 😄
I do like his fireball the way it is. Not only is green fire often synonymous with Luigi in spin-off games, but the original reference the move is based on is _also_ really cool in my opinion! The only thing I don't like about it is how it doesn't have a special green fire effect when you hit opponents with it. :( And I still think his grabs should stick with using the Poltergust... It just makes more sense to me than him using his hands.
I absolutely love this, all the Mario & Luigi rpg references are amazing, and I’m sad this wasn’t in his moveset whatsoever, but I’m happy to see it referenced here, An idea I have that builds off of down b tho, is what if instead of the plunger reaching farther with a longer charge; Luigi instead sucks them in with the vacuum and can move a bit before firing them out, items sucked in go into his hand, meanwhile the plunger can still be shot out by tapping the button Just an idea I thought about, and figured I’d share, love the moveset rework :)
Mario and Luigi Dream Team is my favorite game in the M&L RPG series (if not one of the BEST) I love how you incorporated the spin offs to create Luigi’s move set where he mostly shines in! ❤❤❤
Luigi sounds lethargic in smash rather than nervous imo. This rework really breathed life into him! And can we get a less serious Mario? Not a move set rework, nothing major, but make him sound less serious and intense. I want more of that happy, cheerful Mario who can still fight. Maybe some spice to some of his animations inspired by Super Mario Wonder
I love this new moveset you've made! I personally think Luigi's new Final Smash should have King Boo show up and attack, with the move finishing with Luigi sucking up King Boo with his Poltergust, and maybe anyone nearby too (in a similar way to Zelda's Triforce of Wisdom except instantaneous). While Dream Team deserves some love, Luigi's Mansion is certainly much more well known and would definitely be the source of his Final Smash too. I still love what you did here though! Seems like it would work perfectly!
I feel it would be cool if another Mario character (not sure who) in future Smash game had Luigi’s original final smash Negative Zone! Luigi can keep the ghost vacuum but the dancing was a pretty cool sight to see
More RPG Mario refferences on this Luigi's remade moveset gives me life Would actually like to also see more RPG elrments on Mario's moveset as well, even if just using his hammer
Still waiting for a remake of Dr. Mario's moveset. Preferably one that uses a lot of medical stuff. Like, he'd actually use defibrillators in the side smash to justify the electric effect. You'd even see the doc rub them together as he charges the move!
I'm curious to see what you have in mind when you get to remaking Kirby & Lucario. Are you one of those people who isn't fond of Lucario's Aura mechanic? If yes, I'm expecting you to put him in E tier in the design tier list.
I think it would be cool if the poltergust sb used a windbox that sucks inward as a neat inversion of fludd's outward windbox (it still would have a grab, but it would be a neat parallel, and could justify it having more range than the plunger could)
This Luigi moveset rework is so good :D -The incorperation of the Thunderhand seems a bit odd, since it appears in one game, but it works well enough -His grabs are reverted back to what they looked like before Ultimate -His new down special uses the Poltergust in a vein similar to his brother's F.L.U.D.D. Though, I have a few nitpicks on the redesign: -I felt like his old dash attack, and neutral air, were fine as is. The former is just too iconic! -While your idea for a new down air looks cool, I'd prefer having Luigi Cyclone as the new down air, similar to how Mario's Tornado became one when he got a new down special in Brawl -Even if the new side special looks interesting, I rather just stick with the Green Missile, though with slightly adjustable angles, faster burst movement and minus the random misfires But they don't stop it from something that helps out make Luigi feel so much better!
You did a great job reworking Luigi! Glad you implemented the Thunderhand and Dreamy Luigi from the Mario & Luigi games. Although I think the Neutral Special could have been something else like the Iceball or the Strobulb. And if your wondering where you should put Green Missile instead, you could make it his new up smash. The longer it’s charged the higher it reaches. I’d love to see you rework Bowser, Mewtwo and Dedede. Hell even Ridley could use a rework (he lacks the viciousness and sadistic animosity from his games)
I'm surprised you haven't done a Remake It to *Min Min* yet, I don't have any problem with her but there are many people who say that her moveset is very limited because she doesn't have normal special moves
To be fair there's not much material to work with for special moves besides what we got. More baffling to me are the exclusion of her actual throw and aerial kicks from arms
I love your videos, you always make my days better and I enjoy seeing the ideas you come up with for the fighters in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate!!❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Nice moveset, but this references spinoff titles _way_ more than Smash Bros would ever actually do. Peach only really has her Side Smash and I guess Parasol, and Jr. only really has his Clown Kart
This is such a cool rework!! Pretty much agree all of it, did have another idea for the ultra smash though (solely based on personal preference, since I don't like cutscene only smashes that much).Still sticking to the dreamy vibe, he could take control of the giant ball of luigis you get for puzzle solving in the dream world. rolling around, swinging and maybe even flinging it at opponents while taking no knockback but still normal or reduced damage(?). Also, love his new up b especially!
7:50 one change I’d make to his up smash is making him wear the buzzy helmet from the Mario maker games, since it’d feel more powerful AND show that his head is invincible during the move Yes, the same can be said for Mario
I'm a Luigi main, because he's easily my favorite Mario character with Waluigi as a close second; and I approve of these changes as a general Luigi fan
This seems like a cool channel! Gonna put some character ideas here: Sam and Max from same-named series, Raz from Psychonauts, Cooking Mama, a penguin from Club Penguin, Spooky from Spooky's Jumpscare Mansion, the kids from Kindergarden 1&2, and somehow something related to Return of the Obra Dinn.
Kirby or Lucario next, huh. I knew Lucario had to come up at some point, but there's one major question I have. Is he going to keep the aura gimmick, just tone down or remove it?
Honestly, it's hilarious hearing that Luigi is apparently considered a toxic character in the Smash community. Maybe I just never fought enough really bad Luigi players, but he's the last person I'd peg as being particularly obnoxious to fight against. That said I do appreciate you trying to really emphasis every aspect of his personality in this reworked moveset.
That label is extremely exaggerated, Luigi has been described as weird and annoying since Melee but he's not toxic at all. Especially when compared to the rest of the roster.
He does have unhealthy game patterns though, most notably a Kazuya sindrome of awful neutral but potential 0-to-death if he lands the proper combo starter. Is he the worst case? Not at all, that cake is taken by Sonic with both unfaithful moveset and toxic play patterns who thrive in lack of interaction, but he's definitely a bottom 10 alongside Little Mac, Min-Min, Steve, Kazuya, Sonic, Lucario, Mii Gunner, Ganondorf and Ice climbers.
I liked your rewrite, I found it cool. What I did when I remade his moveset was this Specials: Neutral B- Ice Ball Since Luigi is a Mario but reverse, I think it would be cool if he had a Power Up that its contrary to Fire, being Ice, so Luigi uses the Power of the Ice Flower to froze its enemies Side B- Hammer I think Mario&Luigi Saga series deserve more love, so I think a cool reference to these games would be nice. Luigi's Hammer is very iconic, I imagine that on the ground it would work a lot like DK Headbutt, but in mid air it would work as Ice Climbers Spinning Hammer animation Up B- Burst A move used in the most recent Luigi's Mansion, which he uses the air power of the Poltergust to made Luigi jump highier. It would be cool to show the new Power Ups that Luigi got in his solo series and Burst just looks like that it was made for Smash Down B- Poltergust G-00 I imagine that this Special could work as a Reflect Attack, any projectile would be reflected instantly Final Smash: The Same I think its good how it is the Final Smash that we got
Yep, this is MUCH better than Luigi's current kit he's had since Day 1! It feels much more like himself, and not a cheesy, toxic, polarizing imposter pretending to be the lovable younger sibling of Mario! :D While there might be a few other things here, and there I would change about Luigi such as his costumes like maybe give his purple alt the yellow "L" symbol on his hat that he used to have in X, before changing it to match the same color as his shirt, and said hat in For, so he now resembles his archrival, Waluigi, again, as well as a handful of alternate moves, along with maybe having his grab where he uses his Obacuum (Poltergust's original Japanese name, "obake" (or ghost), and "vacuum") to suck in opponents, but players could still get away from it so the machine's suction isn't too overpowered, and then once he catches them, his pummel could have his vacuum just randomly explode on them, or something, or if it's too much then perhaps the grab, and pummel can remain as is in this video, otherwise, I'm very satisfied with these changes! I even came up with the idea of having his Forward Smash be his Thunder Hand ability from the first Mario & Luigi RPG title myself! I've never liked that they gave him such weird, and random stuff that doesn't make him feel in character even as a kid when I played the original Smash at only 9-years-old, especially nowadays where there's no excuse, so hopefully, if we do get a sixth/seventh Smash installment, they'll finally make Luigi act, and play as the charming underdog that we all know, and love, as opposed to the one that we all know, and hate since the very beginning! I'd say this remake is now a solid "S" tier, instead of "F tier! Another excellent Remake It! video, Delzethin!
I think Luigi is perfect the way he is in smash, hes fun to play. And those combos he was doing are not easy to. Do you have to be really good at game to do those expert levels pro combos In fact, when most casuals play the game, they don't even pick him from how weird he, I think it shows the dedication Someone has to put in to learn such a weird and be good at such a weird character like luigi in my humble opinion And I didn't know people who hated the game play of the character so much I thought characters like Minecraft Steve or joker got more hate than this?
Your concept for Dreamy Luigi is very similar to a Final Smash I came up with for Amy Rose when I was in the 8th grade. She uses Mystic Melody to create a giant apparition of herself that uses her hammer on her victims.
You definitely nailed the main problem with Luigi’s moveset and animations. He’s way too “awkward” and “weird”. They dialed up his cowardly traits from Luigi’s Mansion to 1000 for no reason. He isn’t like that in any other Mario game, so it isn’t a good representation of his character.
i mean, i feel like the design of luigi is MOSTLY fine in the context of smash bros., it's just the meta that messes him up because of his overly potent grab game and down special (up special's issues are mostly linked to said grab game). 4:17 Is he? I mean, I think 3D World, but other than that he's usually just slipperier yay thunderhand! uh, isn't the old down special and current mario dair already supposed to be the super mario world spin? i guess it sorta fits nair, just weird to have the same move on a notably different input like that yay mario & luigi hammer! I feel like Luigi's "storm" powers just happen to generate wind sometimes, not that he has aerokinesis. That's more Wario's job. But yeah as long as the "spin tornado" has stormy elements, sure nice final smash, not as cool as negative zone but that final smash always felt weird gameplay-wise if we're trying to make final smashes competitive rather than casual GJ!
I have an alternate final smash idea: Instead of a cinematic, how about when Luigi falls asleep, tons of Luigi's pop out of the dream portal and start attacking every in the vicinity, creating extra fighters temporarily.
I really liked the new stuff you did for Weegee, and this FAR outdoes Smash's awful rendition of him (Which to be fair isn't hard to do). I like your changes to his stats (though I think he should be more slippery, Ult Luigi isnt slippery at all but thats partially the game's fault) choices for games to pull from and your focus on showing more of Luigi's hesitant bravery and kindhearted nature. But, I do wish you changed some of his normals a bit more to either squeeze in a cute little reference or just be different. I think Luigi's moveset should always hinge on whatever Mario has currently in Smash to a degree, so some overlap is not only inevitable, but needed to nail that Luigi factor. But the fact that his basic and, frankly, uninteresting, tilts were left pretty much identical was disappointing to me. Up Tilt could easily be something a standing small uppercut to take advantage of his taller frame, to contrast Mario's up tilt where he has to jump to get the same reach, and both reference their famous Jump/Brick Breaking animation. Or you could pull out another reference such as something from Paper Mario or one of the Mario Sports games. Luigi's Down Tilt was well done I think and the original move is fitting enough to stay. Forward Tilt feels like the most raw Mario copy and I kinda of like that, but I feel like something like a swipe of the Vacumn's head or a windup punch (likena more goofy version of Wario's old f tilt) would be more fitting. It would be nice if his aerials were also more different, but they are pretty good as is. I just wish his back air was a little more visually interesting since his always looked blander next to Mario's. I also think that, while I really like your rendition of it, his Down Smash is a missed opportunity to not go with the area clearer Burst from LM3. He doesn't have enough moves that are actually ripped right from the games, and this gives Luigi a quicker tool thats somewhat akin to K Rool or Incin down smash that is particularly good on the ledge, but Luigi's is not as good at killing as those two since it is much faster, covers nearly an entire ledge roll if timed right, and lingers for a few frames. It does have a fantastic angle though, like K Rool's back throw but a bit higher. It would be nice if we could see the actual Poltergust's function as a Vacuum, and let it suck up some things somewhere in the moveset. You could It squeeze it into an uncharged version of the Down B or his main grab (though that would kinda revert it to he laggy and relying on a windbox for a grab would suck) It would likely end up functionally similar to Blunderbuss though. I do also think it was possible to keep Green Missile (perhaps as an unchanged version of the tornado), but the new side b seems really cool so I'll take it.
About that "I won?" victory animation. Maybe at the start he's in his clapping pose, and he only realises he won when all the spotlights converge on him.
Oh god, that's so much better!
Victory Screen Ideas:
Well now Mario could have two unique victory animations, one for the piranha plant, probably rubbing his butt and not clapping due to being bitten by piranha plant, and another for his bro, where he is clapping happily that his bro won.
i aint readin all dat

@@Dairunt1 I Was Thinking The Same Lol
The new revamp of Luigi’s move-set is incredible. I knew incorporating Thunderhand and his hammer would make his attacks more interesting.
The thunderhand is so underrated.
I've been playing through Mario and Luigi: Superstar Saga, and I gotta say, Thunder hand is a pretty good move.
Thunder
Hmm… you know, with Mario and Luigi Brothership out, shouldn’t the forward smash use his ice powers instead? I’m sure the devs would want that OP Thunder Jump Punch.
This is much better than what we have currently! Way to do Luigi justice!
Exactly
They need to do it and they need to revamp a lot of characters
Luigi's final smash in this just perfect, it's so perfect, and this moveset is so amazing, it's so great🤩
I'd personally have him suck them into a dreampoint portal, then launch them through for the actual attack.
Once again, another excellent rework!
However, I do think Luigi could have a few alternate costumes like Mario. Maybe something like Mr. L or Gooigi.
Edit: I also kinda wish there were a little more moves from Luigi's Mansion.
Maybe
Gooigi should be his Echo Fighter
A Gooigi alt would be awesome.
@@harleydiaz.Well, how would he be any different from Luigi? It just seems like an unnecessary slot, like Sm4sh Lucina.
@@bonedude666 well he takes damage from water, his attacks are weaker and he's lighter
My thoughts as a Lugii fan and main:
Not a fan of the new nair and dair, but many of the other moves look great.
I agree with the special input features.
Still no Mr. L skin 💀
I prefer the casino outfit.
Mr L is lame and also Paper Luigi is a different character to normal Luigi, casino Luigi supremacy
Why would there be? Mr. L is a completely different person with no connection to Luigi.

@@ABAgamer_ Better if it's misfire OR fully charged missile. You know, so it's an actual gameplan.
@@N12015 Right. Otherwise, you have Street Fighter 6 E. Honda with all those flying headbutts xD
I like the ideas for his smash attacks and specials, but here are my proposals for most of them:
F-Smash: Strobulb - Luigi's charges his Strobulb and blasts a large area with light, stunning opponents and leaving them with high lag, allowing Luigi to perform another move. (Unsure whether it should be able to be angled yet) {Inspired by Luigi’s Mansion Dark Moon}
U-Smash: Hammer Swing - A similar motion to his current Up Smash, Luigi Swings his hammer from behind him, to above him, to in front of him, dealing similar damage (but now with a little more range) {Inspired by Mario & Luigi series}
D-Smash: Luigi holds his Poltergust G-00 in his hand and fires it downwards after he charges, causing him to jump a little, panic, and send a windbox sending people away from him.
Up Special: Polter-Blast - Luigi performs a move similar to his Down Smash. However, he can angle it in any direction. It contains a spike and a windbox on the gust blown away from Luigi. There is a hitbox in the front. Like Diddy Kong’s Up-B, there is a slight charge to the move. However, this charge does not contain a hitbox. To compensate, the distance traveled goes further than his current Up-B and the trajectory can be altered. {Reference to LM3}
Here are a few other things I’d like to see.
I really like this
To be honest I like these smash attacks more than Delzethins.
Don’t know how much I can get behind the idea of lessening the already small amount of Luigi’s Mansion influence in his moveset
Wario Land 3: Electric Wario
Mario Golf Toadstool Tour: The sound of thunder plays if Wario hits the ball perfectly at max power.
Wario: Master of Disguise: Sparky Wario
Mario Golf Super Rush: Lightning Blast
Feel free to list more.
Same for me. I do like the remake of Luigis moveset plus they should've him wall jump like Mario as he done that in many of his brothers game.
12:20 Multiple Elements? NO WAY LUIGI IS THE GREEN NINJA!
@Delzethin.. you ever tried a real job?
I think his back throw should be the backward ground slam he does with the Poltergust.
Not a Main, but I'm Glad you Included his Atmokinesis (Atmokinesis refers to Weather, but it was the only Result that Showed up when I looked up Thunder-Kinesis to Mario's Pyro)
Always thought he should have a Thunderball instead of a Fireball since it would Better Tie in to the Character (at least I think so), but this is still a Great Compromise
Common Delzethin W
You’re doing amazing with these!
Can’t wait to see what you came up with for Mio.
It's a full body spin. The Strikers footage is there to give an idea of what the tornado he generates around him during it would look like.
@@Delzethin I see, thanks for clarifying!
We need a Luigi Logic taunt or win screen in the next Smash game.
Idea: Do a moveset for Sol Badguy. You basically have put the Tention meter for your Sonic and gave mitiple characters a outright INSTALL. So he would be a joy to see how you work in this daredevil into Smash! (Btw, mix Xrd and Strive for his moveset. Order Sol as a alt costume)
PS he has 3 useable taunts ("useable" because his classic MIDDLE FINGER wouldn't fly.)
I'll be honest, I really like Green Missile. It's iconic at this point and super useful, so I would keep Green Missile at least. But you did an excellent job with everything else and I completely agree with the fact that Smash didn't do Luigi justice.
Green missle is one of his worst moves, it's not good at all.
Thank you for nicely asking for an honest subscribe. You make great smash content that I have seen before. You sir have a new subscriber
love the idea of the poltergust SB. having a poltergust model specifically designed for smash is such a neat concept

Please do this with some of the echos like Dark Pit, Dark Samus, and Dr Mario! Maybe even Alph!
Great job on revamping Luigi's moveset. He deserves better in Smash Bros.
And I still think his grabs should stick with using the Poltergust... It just makes more sense to me than him using his hands.
I absolutely love this, all the Mario & Luigi rpg references are amazing, and I’m sad this wasn’t in his moveset whatsoever, but I’m happy to see it referenced here,
An idea I have that builds off of down b tho, is what if instead of the plunger reaching farther with a longer charge; Luigi instead sucks them in with the vacuum and can move a bit before firing them out, items sucked in go into his hand, meanwhile the plunger can still be shot out by tapping the button
Just an idea I thought about, and figured I’d share, love the moveset rework :)
Mario and Luigi Dream Team is my favorite game in the M&L RPG series (if not one of the BEST)
I love how you incorporated the spin offs to create Luigi’s move set where he mostly shines in! ❤❤❤
This is so much better I hate that they didnt repect his electric ability from superstarsaga
I think Mario can still be serious in battle but more joyful in his taunts and victories
I like this a lot, but idk if nintendo would do the electric elements. If the Up special works like this in the main game, it would be amazing!
I feel it would be cool if another Mario character (not sure who) in future Smash game had Luigi’s original final smash Negative Zone! Luigi can keep the ghost vacuum but the dancing was a pretty cool sight to see
Waluigi. He dances a lot in the games, and in lore the move harnesses negative jealous energy which fits perfect with him
The Mario & Luigi love got me way more excited than it probably should've lmao
More RPG Mario refferences on this Luigi's remade moveset gives me life
Would actually like to also see more RPG elrments on Mario's moveset as well, even if just using his hammer
i think the "wacky" characteristics would be better suited to waluigi
Still waiting for a remake of Dr. Mario's moveset. Preferably one that uses a lot of medical stuff. Like, he'd actually use defibrillators in the side smash to justify the electric effect. You'd even see the doc rub them together as he charges the move!
I'm curious to see what you have in mind when you get to remaking Kirby & Lucario.
Are you one of those people who isn't fond of Lucario's Aura mechanic? If yes, I'm expecting you to put him in E tier in the design tier list.
I think it would be cool if the poltergust sb used a windbox that sucks inward as a neat inversion of fludd's outward windbox (it still would have a grab, but it would be a neat parallel, and could justify it having more range than the plunger could)
This Luigi moveset rework is so good :D
-The incorperation of the Thunderhand seems a bit odd, since it appears in one game, but it works well enough
-His grabs are reverted back to what they looked like before Ultimate
-His new down special uses the Poltergust in a vein similar to his brother's F.L.U.D.D.
Though, I have a few nitpicks on the redesign:
-I felt like his old dash attack, and neutral air, were fine as is. The former is just too iconic!
-While your idea for a new down air looks cool, I'd prefer having Luigi Cyclone as the new down air, similar to how Mario's Tornado became one when he got a new down special in Brawl
-Even if the new side special looks interesting, I rather just stick with the Green Missile, though with slightly adjustable angles, faster burst movement and minus the random misfires
But they don't stop it from something that helps out make Luigi feel so much better!
@Delzethin..hey bot! shut UP!
Loses points for not bringing back his victory thrust from SSB64
I think itd be cool if the down b was like a reverse fludd that uses the vacuum to pull them in instead of the plunger
7:50 one change I’d make to his up smash is making him wear the buzzy helmet from the Mario maker games, since it’d feel more powerful AND show that his head is invincible during the move
Yes, the same can be said for Mario
i NEED more mario and luigi representation in smash this is what i needed
I'm a Luigi main, because he's easily my favorite Mario character with Waluigi as a close second; and I approve of these changes as a general Luigi fan
So do I
This seems like a cool channel!
It would be funny that opponents hit by Luigi's FS are briefly stunned before being sent flying, as if they woke up from a nightmare and ran away
Kirby or Lucario next, huh. I knew Lucario had to come up at some point, but there's one major question I have. Is he going to keep the aura gimmick, just tone down or remove it?
As a Luigi main since 4, I like how he plays. Ive gotten used to how he works but I imagine fighting against him is not fun
We love Luigi
I think his side b can still misfire, but instead it’s the tornado projectile that goes faster
Congrats at 25K! 🥳🎉
I liked your rewrite, I found it cool.
What I did when I remade his moveset was this
Specials:
Neutral B- Ice Ball
Since Luigi is a Mario but reverse, I think it would be cool if he had a Power Up that its contrary to Fire, being Ice, so Luigi uses the Power of the Ice Flower to froze its enemies
Side B- Hammer
I think Mario&Luigi Saga series deserve more love, so I think a cool reference to these games would be nice. Luigi's Hammer is very iconic, I imagine that on the ground it would work a lot like DK Headbutt, but in mid air it would work as Ice Climbers Spinning Hammer animation
Up B- Burst
A move used in the most recent Luigi's Mansion, which he uses the air power of the Poltergust to made Luigi jump highier. It would be cool to show the new Power Ups that Luigi got in his solo series and Burst just looks like that it was made for Smash
Down B- Poltergust G-00
I imagine that this Special could work as a Reflect Attack, any projectile would be reflected instantly
Final Smash: The Same
I think its good how it is the Final Smash that we got
Luigi with Electric Attacks since Mario & Luigi DS games is an immediate Win for me⚡️🟢🥰
I just watched this because I like hearing you talk. I'm sure this will be interesting regardless.
Another good animation for the start of the match would be he's asleep but then polterpup takes a gold bone and wakes him up.
You should do a moveset for Ninten. Or a moveset remake for Ness or Lucas to make it more faithful to their in game self. Also great video!
Congrats at 25k
No
I think Luigi is perfect the way he is in smash, hes fun to play.
I want to play this Luigi NOW!
That was awesome!
Excellent job man!!!
About time man yeah!!
I really hope they'll revamp Luigi's moveset for the next game. He was one of those characters I wanted to play, but he just felt too awkward for me.
I would love to see you give echo fighters a new moveset (especially Daisy and Dark Samus)
As a Luigi main, I think this rework is incredible!
i mean, i feel like the design of luigi is MOSTLY fine in the context of smash bros., it's just the meta that messes him up because of his overly potent grab game and down special (up special's issues are mostly linked to said grab game).
4:17 Is he? I mean, I think 3D World, but other than that he's usually just slipperier
yay thunderhand!
uh, isn't the old down special and current mario dair already supposed to be the super mario world spin? i guess it sorta fits nair, just weird to have the same move on a notably different input like that
yay mario & luigi hammer!
I feel like Luigi's "storm" powers just happen to generate wind sometimes, not that he has aerokinesis. That's more Wario's job. But yeah as long as the "spin tornado" has stormy elements, sure
nice final smash, not as cool as negative zone but that final smash always felt weird gameplay-wise if we're trying to make final smashes competitive rather than casual
GJ!
I have an alternate final smash idea: Instead of a cinematic, how about when Luigi falls asleep, tons of Luigi's pop out of the dream portal and start attacking every in the vicinity, creating extra fighters temporarily.
It'd be cool if for the side throws if Luigi hits a teammate with the move, they can act out of the throw. Could be a way to get to off stage faster.
I think giving his tornado move an electric effect that hits when pressing b during the animation would help with thematic synergy for his specials
I would prefer if neutral special was ice fireball. But other than that, I love this moveset.
