DIY Electrical Fireplace Build & Slat Wall

Welcome back, DIY enthusiasts! In this video, I'll guide you through the process of creating a stunning custom floating electric fireplace, complete with a stylish 1x2 slat wall above it. Follow along as I frame it out using 1x8s, nail it all up with my trusty 18ga nail gun from Ryobi, and meticulously sand every surface to perfection.
To achieve that rustic charm, I opted for the timeless Special Walnut stain by Minwax, giving our fireplace a warm and inviting look. Then, I'll show how to hang it up using a French cleat system for stability, style, and ease of removing someday if needed.
The electric fireplace itself MUST be frameless if you want the slick look like I've got, I'll have the Burutpike branded fireplace down in the tool list below.
I made sure everything is level as we nail on the 1x2 slats above the fireplace. With careful spacing of 1.5 inches or the width of my level, we'll achieve a seamless and professional finish.
