That infamous 2016 race split Mercedes' two 10-race win consecutive race win streak. The only other teams to have achieved this were Ferrari in 2002 and McLaren in 1988 as part of their 11-win streak. Mercedes also did this in 2018-19 as part of their 2019 car's 8-win streak, 5 of which were consecutive 1-2s.
Love the list, but really disagree with the top spot. Sure, 2016 Mercedes was tremendous, but the 2014 was just mindblowing. In fact, I think it might be the absolute best F1-car of all time. According to Rosberg the car was so dominant, they drove slower on purpose to not force imminent rule changes against them, and yet they still won by an absolute landslide most of the time! There was never a single moment where the car was remotely outpaced either (Massa getting a pole was purely down to driver errors from Mercedes), unlike 2016 where Ricciardo was faster at Monaco. Relative to the competition I also think the 2014 car was more reliable as well.
@@matthiascerebri3315 2016 does have a better win percentage, but there was more races and both seasons ended up with three races lost. From what i heard, McLaren were rushing Honda to get the engine out. That's why the 2015 Honda engine were extremely unreliable and underpowered. Another thing that makes McLaren the biggest issue with that mess is that they blamed Honda for their poor performance but didn't do any better after they switched than what they did with Honda. They also had a better engine that RB was getting race wins with but McLaren's chassis sucked
I remember this. McLaren piled on the downforce to make the chassis look good being very fast in high speed corners, but this exacerbated Honda’s problems.
Probably because Mclaren was faster than that Red Bull but also Mclaren was much worse in reliability. That's why they came 3rd in that championship. Lewis lost a lot of race/good results cause of reliability.
@@Mazzo_02 Hmmmm... that Red Bull had its reliability problems too. However where the McLaren really lost points was the pitstops. For example, one race Hamilton dropped from 2nd to 8th just because of 2 10-second stops I believe.

I disagree with 2018. Whilst Seb did make mistakes in the second half of the season, it was because he had to outperform the limits of the car to try and keep up with mercedes baring in mind that ferrari actually removed 4 months of upgrades. They were so much slower in the second half of the season and whilst seb did make mistakes, I believe the second half of the season was the cars' lack of performance. And 2017, not sure it had anything to do with driver error, more reliability, Japan and Singapore ruined him
Excuses and excuses. Kimi managed a win in the US and managed fine in Italy as well. Seb absolutely bottled it and even max in a slower car got more points 😂😂😂😂

What's the point in ranking the cars if you're just gonna base it off how well the drivers do, and the overall champoinship position? You may as well just rank the teams. The 2018 Mclaren for example should be much lower, it was the worst car on the grid on various weekends that year.
What is this ranking about? Dominance? Or outright car performance? In terms of dominance (performance relative to the competition, not just about the statistics): 1. 2020 Mercedes 2. 2016 Mercedes 3. 2015 Mercedes 4. 2014 Mercedes 5. 2011 Red Bull 6. 2013 Red Bull 7. 2019 Mercedes 8. 2017 Mercedes 9. 2018 Mercedes 10. 2010 Red Bull In terms of outright performance (qualifying and race pace and also reliability): 1. 2020 Mercedes 2. 2019 Mercedes 3. 2018 Mercedes/2018 Ferrari (they were more or less equal throughout the season, Ferrari and Vettel simply made a lot of errors). 4. 2019 Ferrari (yes, 2019 Ferrari in terms of lap-time is slower than 2018) 5. 2020 Red Bull 6. 2019 Red Bull 7. 2018 Red Bull 8. 2020 Racing Point (it's not an "exact" copy of the 2019 Mercedes, lap times confirm this, but it was the 3rd fastest car in 2020, the overall fastest year in F1). 9. 2020 Renault 10. 2020 McLaren 2018-2020 are the fastest cars in F1 history, with 2020 being the overall fastest (Ferrari simply dropped the ball in this year). Hypothetical 2004 V10 cars with slicks and qualifying fuel instead of race fuel would probably rival 2020 cars lap times.
It's basically a balance between outright pace, reliability, innovation, and performance relative to contemporary cars, which why is the overall fastest car on this list is ranked no. 5 and not no. 1
Lewis should have won the 2012 title, if it wasn't for McLaren stuffing him up constantly and other drivers taking him out, he surely would have won it.
@@Duval-In-The-Wall They lost points for sure but we aren't talking well over 100 points like in Lewis' case. He won 4 races, only one less than champion Vettel, but it should have been 8 or 9. Just a summary of points lost: Malaysia: Slow stop cost him win China: Gearbox change knocked him down the field. Bahrain: Constant slow stops destroyed his race. Spain: Qualified in P1 by half a second, but team underfuelled him so sent to back of grid. Lost win. Europe: Taken out by Maldonado whilst in a podium position. Germany: Puncture sent him to back of the field. Spa: Mistakes in qually put him down the field a little but was prevented making any progress by being caught up in Grosjean's pileup. No doubt he would have finished high in the points going by the McLaren pace that weekend. Singapore: Gearbox failure whilst leading and costing him a likely win. Korea: Anti-Roll bar failure costing him a handful of places. Abu Dhabi: Yet another mechanical issue whilst leading. Lost win. Brazil: Out of control Hulkenberg collided with Lewis who was in the lead. Lost win. There's no surprise Lewis moved teams.

And 2017, not sure it had anything to do with driver error, more reliability, Japan and Singapore ruined him
Japan was unfortunate, Singapore was his own fault.
Excuses and excuses.
Kimi managed a win in the US and managed fine in Italy as well. Seb absolutely bottled it and even max in a slower car got more points 😂😂😂😂
@@AZBCDEEHe almost got more points than Kimi but Vettel was like 71 points ahead.
Watched the whole thing! Great video!

What's the point in ranking the cars if you're just gonna base it off how well the drivers do, and the overall champoinship position? You may as well just rank the teams. The 2018 Mclaren for example should be much lower, it was the worst car on the grid on various weekends that year.
Man the 2018 McLaren
Often worse than than the 2017 McLaren, they just went backwards like crazy
I’m showing this to my Tory F1 mates
Man these videos are so good!! Keep it up!

What is this ranking about? Dominance? Or outright car performance?
In terms of dominance (performance relative to the competition, not just about the statistics):
1. 2020 Mercedes
2. 2016 Mercedes
3. 2015 Mercedes
4. 2014 Mercedes
5. 2011 Red Bull
6. 2013 Red Bull
7. 2019 Mercedes
8. 2017 Mercedes
9. 2018 Mercedes
10. 2010 Red Bull
In terms of outright performance (qualifying and race pace and also reliability):
1. 2020 Mercedes
2. 2019 Mercedes
3. 2018 Mercedes/2018 Ferrari (they were more or less equal throughout the season, Ferrari and Vettel simply made a lot of errors).
4. 2019 Ferrari (yes, 2019 Ferrari in terms of lap-time is slower than 2018)
5. 2020 Red Bull
6. 2019 Red Bull
7. 2018 Red Bull
8. 2020 Racing Point (it's not an "exact" copy of the 2019 Mercedes, lap times confirm this, but it was the 3rd fastest car in 2020, the overall fastest year in F1).
9. 2020 Renault
10. 2020 McLaren
2018-2020 are the fastest cars in F1 history, with 2020 being the overall fastest (Ferrari simply dropped the ball in this year).
Why do the cars from the same constructior (Force India and Sauber ex.) tend to clump together?
Verstappen ahed of Alonso and Rosberg?
Lol yeah that McLaren was a huge piece of crap
I think the RB9 should be in 2nd
Lewis should have won the 2012 title, if it wasn't for McLaren stuffing him up constantly and other drivers taking him out, he surely would have won it.
Both Vettel and Alonso lost big points that season as well
@@Duval-In-The-Wall They lost points for sure but we aren't talking well over 100 points like in Lewis' case. He won 4 races, only one less than champion Vettel, but it should have been 8 or 9. Just a summary of points lost:
Malaysia: Slow stop cost him win
China: Gearbox change knocked him down the field.

I mean you can’t really get a better list it’s spot on although I would say the 2017 Ferrari should be lower than the 2012,10 McLaren and the 2010 Ferrari other than that I completely agree
although i would say in general the Mercedes cars were a lot faster than the Red Bull cars people forget in 2013 Webber got 2 podiums while Seb got 9 wins in a row
No, 2010 Ferrari is near but the 2012 Ferrari IS trash
The RB10 above the RB14... that's some crack you're smoking
Great video
there´s no way any of the Red Bulls were better than the Mercedes from 14-16
I wonder where the 2021 Haas would place on this list
One of the least consistent rankings I've ever seen
