Thank You!
I never tire of listening to Bach's cantatas. I've never heard one that bores me. I have boundless admiration for this composer!
Thank you for your visit. In the channel there are many cantatas of different interpretations. Welcome ...
Same here. The only thing that disappoints me is when I turn away from his music. But then I always come back.
You're not the only one!
The tonal harmony just brings me to the edge of tears in this body of work. He is all things worth the struggle and agony of life.
Haydn's Seven Last Words of Christ does that to me.
They say that in Heaven, when the angels are playing music among themselves, they play Mozart. However, when playing for God it is always the music of Johann Sebastian Bach.
It is comforting to be among fellow music lovers here sharing their joy; I am not alone adoring Bach.
Amazing Bach
No matter how you feel, there is always a music by Bach to macth exactly your mood
So divine
Who would ever think that the man who wrote these beautiful masterpieces has been dead for 273 years.
I'm 65 and looking forward to the day of meeting him.
Dead???
As a daily 'fix' Bach delivers the whole gamut of pleasurable hormones my biochemistry can concoct! His music is most edifying and this ensemble under J.E.G does unequivocally put the stamp of quality with this exemplary performance and recording. Kudos to all involved with this upload.
Classical music possesses a timeless elegance that transcends eras, creating an auditory journey through the ages.
God inspired for sure!
John Eliot Gardiner's Monteverdi choir is relatively small - 3 tenors, 3 bass, 6 soprano, 3 alto , but the result is magnificent, powerful harmonies and perfectly balanced. Soloists: Gillian Keith, Susan Hamilton soprano; Hilary Summers alto; William Kendall Tenor; Peter Harvey bass. Recorded at Winchester Cathedral and at All Saints, Tooting (London)

ta muzyka daje szczęście ciału i wyzwala duszę
These Europeans were up to something. Something magnificent?
Yes, but Bach exceeds all others by a wide wide margin.
@@ignacioclerici5341 Bach far exceeds Mozart and Beethoven. They are students in comparison
@@svetsarkirurgen2XD are serious? Well I prefer Bach, but mozar and Beethoven were compositors from a completely different music era, the baroque music is very very complex and so ornamented, so we can't compare baroque music with romantic music
@@gamesau7942You are 100% right, Mozart and Beethoven lived in totally different time periods, they are masters of their own age.
Bach...atemporal. magnífico...
La belleza en estado puro...
Bach is great and his charm lies in the cantatas, but Gardiner is the worst interpreter in the entire universe, pedantic, academic, void of the majesty and magnificence which are a trait of baroque music. Besides. after the Deutsche Grammophone fired him, his recordings are pitiful.
I have to agree with the other commentators, this is heavenly music created by one of the best composers ever born.

Beautiful *) Thank you very much for posting! ♥
I think I hear Brandenburg concerto...
lol I thought that sounded familiar. Apparently he reused the opening piece of the 1st Brandenburg Concerto as the opening sinfonia of BWV 52
The greatest Western composer
I'd say Mozart
Ludwig van Beethoven no
@@danal81 thats not very reasonable
Ludwig van Beethoven indeed it is.
Bach is the beginning and end of all music.
- Max Reger
I had no idea of the historical evolution of the civilized world's music and had not realized that all modern music owes everything to Bach.
- Niccolai Rimsky-Korsakov
Music owes as much to Bach as religion to its founder.
- Robert Schumann
Bach is thus a terminal point. Nothing comes from him; everything merely leads to him.
- Albert Schweitzer
O you happy sons of the North who have been reared at the bosom of Bach, how I envy you.
- Giuseppe Verdi
...the most stupendous miracle in all music!
- Richard Wagner
@@danal81 Again, still not very reasonable. There are plenty of quotes by composers that say the same of Mozart.
Mahler's final words were "Mozart!",
Tchaikovsky referred to him as "a musical christ". Beethoven described him as one of the most admirable.
So Mozart was also very revered.
There are also many composers who would put Mozart over Bach. No knock on Bach but Mozart mastered his craft.
Nothing can match his purity and simplicity. Albert Einstein himself remarked on this simplicity he sensed in Mozart which he strove for in his theory of relativity. You should explain to me how Bach was better, not tell me what other people think of him.

Cordiali saluti dall' Argentina.
Who today still believes God's Word and is saved in the Lord Jesus Christ? Because that alone, God's word and its truth is what this music is about. And that is what it is all about for each and every one of us! How many music lovers still believe this truth of all truths today?
This music was created in the service of God, and otherwise it would not exist.
Today, however, it is surely separated from its meaning by many deniers of God, by those lost in darkness, who simply enjoy it. Thus, however, this music that actually testifies to God's truth is just another companion into judgment and eternal damnation....
All you lost music-loving people of today out there, get saved while there is still time!
this is extraordinary - just listening to the first one - this group is the best I've heard of his cantatas - can anyone provide translations?

Music like this is all the proof of God I need. What, or who, else but the Devine could inspire such beauty.
It’s the work of a human brain
Daniel Korts I didn’t mention religion, you did. Believe in some sort of divine power is not exclusive to organized religion. I assume that you’re an atheist, and that you value logic and reason. If that is the case then why not enter into a rational discussion with someone that you disagree with as opposed to spitting venom and bile at them? I love conversation, talk with me if you want.
Daniel Korts I don’t have a short memory Daniel, that wasn’t your initial comment, “incredible how art and human achievement are used to spew religious nonsense.”
@@TheSeanoops clearly, I realized in your case my response was too aggressive, so I had edited it (before I saw your reply today as you can see)
