    As a pianist and composer I know and love (and often tried to play parts of) this maybe greatest work of music ever since more than 40 years in all its details and have heard many great interpretations of it. But this one is really the greatest of all! M. Czech not only plays this, but becomes it !! This is a miracle and without exaggeration one of the greatest experiences of my musical life !!! I can not thank you enough for this superhuman performance 🌸🌸🌸

      @@OldPannonian Wrong?? Bach hat a harpsichord, that does not allow much romantic. On the piano it is easily possibel. I am glad that she plays Bach romantically. I Adore Gustav Leonhard, this has an immense beauty. I think Bach did minimalize romantik, aß he takes all sweet passages very short for people like to dream.
      I myself I love so much Chopin, and my piano teacher hated it when I made Bach romantic.
      You may listen to the invention 13 I play with some elongation of the nice parts. BACH WOULD BLAME ME.
      Then you know I like very much Bach in a romantic way playd.
      AND perhaos you Do Not know Mozarts ADAGIO and FUGUE, in the style of Bach but higly romantic.
      Bach once did meet Albinoni, I love sooo much, and sayd to him: YOU CAN WRITE NICE MELODIES BUT YOU CAN NOT COMPOSE. Albinoni replayd: YOU ARE A GREAT CIMPOSER BUT YOU CAN NOT WRITE NICE MELODIES.
      (It is rarely found a sing-able peace of Bach.
      He could take a duodezime and does not take care of the players Hands. Not so Chopin. Horrible looking arpggios are easily Played for he composed odver his Hand, Bach over his Inner)
      Now this composition of Mozart is a composition like BACH&ALBINONI MARIED

Once there was just music, vinyl or cassette or wax cylinder, you wouldn't have cared about the dress. You could just try a real *blind* test... listening with closed eyes... maybe you could appreciate both Marta Czech and, let me guess, Yuja Wang?, for their artistic merits instead of their appearance.

    Charles Rosen has made the point that Bach probably wrote and performed this work for the piano. He was at the court of Frederick the Great who did not like the sound of the harpsichord but owned 15 Silberman pianos. Bach was a friend of Silberman, and was interested in the development of the instrument. I can’t imagine that Bach would not be thrilled to hear this superb performance on a Fazioli.

    • @MrUseur
      @MrUseur Год назад +1

      What makes it the " mankind's greatest artistic achievement"? Is your statement just based on pure listening to the music? Serious question. I am curious.

    • @bartbannister394
      @bartbannister394 Год назад +14

      @@MrUseur First of all, music seems to communicate deeper than other art forms. I know there is no way I can prove that, except to say that the frequency relationships between the 12 notes in the octave correspond exactly to the frequency relationships found between electrons in all atoms.
      Secondly, the theme in the Kunst der Fugue, is a quintissential mathematic musical phrase. Starts on the tonic, goes to the second most important note which describes tonality, the fifth, then the third most important note, the third, back to the tonic and then the leading tone. The 4 most important notes in the scale.
      But most importantly, it is mostly written in four parts. No pianist will deny that it is the most challenging music ever written. It has 4 different melody lines played simultaneously through most of it by just one person. No composer comes close to duplicating it.
      Madam Czech is a remarkably dedicated artist. The idea that someone has the nerve to sit down and play the entire work by memory is inconceivable to me.
      Are you aware that Bach wrote this on his deathbed?

    Marvelous Bach playing. Clear, intelligent, thoughtful, and remarkably mature. I am amazed that someone so young would devote themselves with such obvious love to this most austere of masterworks. Marta Czech is a breath of fresh air in a classical music world dominated, with few exceptions, by either sentimentality or empty virtuosic display.

    I am a big fan of Schiff for Bach and have numerous interpretation of these pieces, but this one is of an unprecendented detail and clarity. I am so happy to have discovered Marta on RUclips. This is just pure genius!

    Gewaltig was Sie da aus dem Innersten ohne Noten spielen. Das "offene Ende", war das von Bach so vorgesehen nach mehr als einer Stunde von einem Leitmotiv zum andern. Grossartig, ihr Spiel, vom Anfang bis zum offenen Ende.

    Never Forget , that 80% of Bach keyboards works are the result of an improvisation that Bach put on a score aferwards. We will never hear the best composition of Bach, which means all the organ improvisations of Bach who died famous for his organ composition. During his life, he was popular and quiet famous in northern Germany not for his music (fiew disciples and connoisseur) but for his organ improvisations which are flying in the sky along my dream to lesson such a mathematical improviser. Bach is unique to have been the only musician to improvise a piece which seems to be the perfect achievment of the throught, of a long mathematical work! no way, it came like this wouahhh !.
    How can you compose more than 500 hours of music for all instruments , without to be a genius improviser. How can you be the composer the most famous for each instruments and the musician the most learn in musical school all over the world without to be a great improviser. Otherways you think, you are an hard worker to compose 9 symphonies and 6 hours of piano and that's all, as Beethoven who was a hard worker and wonderful musician, but not the music incarnated. The first instrument that Bach learned and played was the violin, from age 5 to 10 under the teaching of his father who died and Bach started to play organ at 10 under his uncle.when his father his violin teacher died and that's the reason why he created himself the sonatas and partitas for solo violin which are among the most difficult and beautiful pieces for a small instrument ever invented and it takes Menuhin, or Pearlman, or Grumiaux to play these sonatas and partitas perfectly. But Menuhin was playing 7 hours of violin per day.
    How did Bach to compose it, to play it himself while playing organ, harpsichord, composing 330 cantatas plus The Passions , the oratorio, chamber music, cello music, add that he was an incredible luth player as well as a flutist as well as a cello player as well...
