I have just completed a 4-day 96hr fast. I was aiming for a 3-day but felt so good on day 3 that I continued. As a carnivore used to eating one meal a day and already being fat adapted, I honestly found this fast easy and pleasurable. I think the carb addiction that you clearly have is the reason you struggled. I only had a bit of hunger signals on the first day really and eventually on day 4. I never felt tired and mentally felt very alert. Sleep was fantastic as is normal for a carnivore. No lack of energy and I work a physical job so don't do additional exercise. I recommend reading Dr Fung's book on fasting: The Complete Guide to Fasting. Thanks for sharing your experience.
While I can appreciate the desire to experiment with fasting you should have done more research into how to do a proper water fast. First, breaking the fast with the large amount of fast food is not only bad for you but down right dangerous; look into re-feeding syndrome before attempting a water fast again. Although it's more of a concern for individuals performing a 5+ day fast it can be potentially fatal and lead to hospitalization. Second, the jogging robbed you of many of the potential benefits you would have reaped from a 3 day fast. When done properly, a fast should be a period of time set aside to focus on resting and healing; intense exercise must be avoided at all cost during this time if you are to allow your body to reap the benefits of a fast. Thirdly, while I know arguments have been made that drinking coffee during a fast isn't harmful I personally would avoid all forms of caffeine during this time and only consume water. The most important element of a successful fast is allowing yourself plenty of time to rest and coffee is counterproductive to this aim. Lastly, if you are considering doing another water fast in the future I'd recommend setting it up to where you are able to take time off from your work as to reduce stress levels and maximize the time spent resting.
i agree with you minus the exercising part. you will just look like skin and bone if you sit and do nothing muscles will disappear if not used. exercise base on your energy levels and experience. sometimes exercising during fast while growth hormones are high is perfect and will help you get into ketosis faster .
@@fastlearner9993 ive seen hgh increases massively to preserve muscle during the fast. If we lost muscle after not eating for a day when we were cave men we would just wither away

I’m fasting now going into my fifth day. First three days where a struggle but after the third day it became easier. Goal is to finish 7 days and if possible maybe 10 or I switch to 20 hours a day fasting
I just completed an 86 hour fast and it was tough. I’m definitely understanding your rationale for doing this and I am proud I got through it. To break my fast I ate bone broth with fresh lemon juice. then 20 minutes later I had two small avocados. Now 2.5 hours later eating some steamed veggies with lemon juice. In an hour I’ll reintroduce dairy in the form of half and half in my coffee: plenty of protein and vitamin K2 I was pretty weak last night and this morning I said EEF it I’m breaking my fast. I felt mentally dull the whole time actually
Hahah no way Tom! Good to see you making videos bro! Thats soooo funny I’m on day 1 of my first fast and saw this video and was like that looks and sounds so much like Tom Littler… and it is haha nice one foro sharing mate! Hope life is blessed! 🙏🏽
Ps I recently met and elderly man (76) who within the last 10 years completely cured his bladder or stomach cancer just with fasting… he did 21 days and he says his body basically ate away the cancer cells…! Incredible!
I think the people here are absolutely right about less exercise and breaking the fast more gradually, but, coffee and teas are 100% fine. I would recommend you stop consuming any caffeine after 4 PM though.
According to Dr Rhonda Patrick on the JRE podcast, " coffee is a xenobiotic," and as such crosses into the bloodstream barrier and stops ketosis from taking place, water works best. Could she be wrong ?
I would do it, in part, for weight loss. How much did you actually loose, and were you able to continue to excercise (I would prefer to loose fat, not muscle)
@@aldoushuxley5953 Usually folks will lose a few pounds during a 4-day fast, but gain it back fairly quickly. It's better to make long-term dietary changes in order to lose weight.

Coffee could be a reason you are not sleeping. The effect would be much stronger. I hope you have a good brand-name organic coffee, like "Peace-Coffee" or a brand without chemicals. Coffee is one of the foods/liquids that are at the top of the list as far as chemical/pesticide/herbicide loads.
For me first 48 hours were fine but after 52h my circulation slowed down and my palms began to get cold and change color when I don't move. I stopped after 54h and I'm going to try again and see if it gets any better 🤷🏼♂️😄
@@Dellen-Roger Good way to screw up your body. Refeeding syndrome or can put you on dyalisis. And what was the point of the fast? There is nothing wrong with fast-food every once awhile in a small proportion. Also feeding your freshly cleansed gut with Terrible bacteria. 1. only very gentle exercise, 2. take it easy on the coffee, 3. break the fast slowly with healthy food. I've done a few of them.
