Custodes Talons of the Emperor vs. Necrons Hypercrypt
2000 Points
Dawn of War
Purge the Foe and Chilling Rain
This is a Warhammer 40k Battle Report between Necron Mike's RTT list vs. my Custodes RTT list. This was our last practice game before the tournament. We used the first mission out of the 3 at the RTT for this Battle Report. I also changed the settings, so no more Top Cam time counter after this game. We have some other faction battle reports coming out soon as well.
It's a great game as usual. I always have fun playing NecronMike. Thank you again for playing, always a time.

I love the super concise 30m format, rather than the 2+ hour battle reports other channels make. I also love the competitive gameplay between decent players. Glad youtube recommended this to me, subscribed)
Thank you so much. The 30 minute reports seem to be popular. Welcome aboard!
great battle report as always, can't wait to see you guys play auric champion!!!
I might be playing Auric vs. New Chaos Codex here soon!
Like the armies. Would be nice to see a live battle report. Its always interesting to see how players make decissions. thx for the content.
Really helpful video guy learning a lot on how not to suck with my golden boys, keep it up
Welcome, my Golden Brother. Happy I can help!
I appreciate these videos because I only have a custdoes army and I have really been struggling with the necron armies I have been playing. I gotta say. The doomday arch cannons literally wipe my tanks off the board in one turn if they roll decent. Do I just need to avoid them?
The Doomsday Arcs can be a pain in the butf for sure. The best way to deal with them is 2 tanks at once, but you don't need to get in a gun fight right away.
Our infantry footprint is usually quite small. We can use cover move up the board. Use the tanks to snipe out other stuff without engaging the big guns until turn 2 or 3.
@@HubtownHammer my man. Thanks so much for the insight. I am also building a list around a camis Rex for some survivability and firepower. Have you ever thought about fielding one in a custodes army
25:30 the unit charging from 3rd floor to the lokhusts with only a 7? Did those custodes grow wings and gain the fly keyword? If not, the charge movement required is the inches from that floor straight down to ground level and then the 6+ inches to the lokhusts.
Lol, we put them on top of the buildings so people can see where the models are. Why would I place Custodes with sub-par shooting on top of a building.
We always state if a model is actually on top of a building, but with 10th, that is rare.
@@HubtownHammerI often do this too. Ask if my opponent would like me to put them on top. Helps everyone see what’s really going on.
@@HubtownHammer 3rd floor would give you plunging fire for +1ap.
That said, I've seen people do all sorts of wierd placements for different bonuses. Also being in the ruins even on 3rd floor still gives you cover to units not in that same terrain feature.
I like the format. I have just built a pair of Land Raiders because (weirdly) I can get them but not Forgeworld tanks. I am planning to use them to surge forward onto midfield objectives turn 1.
Also: I am wondering about the prospect of doing Auric champions with just champions. Almost Nothing but characters in Land Raiders, who ride the land raiders to the middle of the board and then scatter
