I love Nick's infectious energy in this video. It was clear James was getting frustrated / disheartened by the first 2-3 rounds and wanted to throw in the towel , but with Nick going out of his way to celebrate his own tank blowing up and offering James a high five it seemed to completely turn James around into having a good time. That's what this game & hobby is all about, and if I am able to ever play a actual in person game I hope its in a welcoming setting like this. Keep up the great work guys :)
@@JimJones-ur3el Thanks for replying Jim, how does a stompa play to you? Strengths and weaknesses? I know a main pro of it is being able to just tear armor apart and it's great for objective sitting with a mek.
I've played it in a couple games, found it to be very swingy. Opponents with strong anti armour chew it up, but if it gets to their lines it's devastating.
Nothing against trying stuff out but his lists just seem to lack slightly on pure firepower/damage output. A guard gun line should have killed the morkonaut first turn, 1 damage rolls or no.
@@milomoran582 In his defense it's basically impossible to have a tank gun line supported by orders unless you bring the Lord Solar. This is because Tank Commanders suck so much.
Although Nick loses many guardsman and vehicles, he has the spirit, the tenacity, and the overwelmning fun zeal to raise our heads whether friend or foe! Truly an inspirational commander!
Man that army intro for the Guard really hit me. They're so striking in all the black and gas masks, especially the rough riders. Beautiful but menacing.
What an amazing balance they do to accommodate newcomers while also being interested to more familiar folks. I had no idea how Warhammer worked before seeing one of their introductory videos. I feel like I was missing out. I thought it was some kind of story-based type game. Thanks for bringing this to a wide audience!
I lowkey love this game for all the "well that's how tabletop works" Orks not hitting anything at the beginning Guardsmen killing so much of the Dakka boys All of the big machines of the orks didn't made as *much* damage as they could in-lore It was so fun and heartwarming seeing Nick lifting James spirits but Emperor damm was fun to imagine this playing out like a completely insane lore story
The guard seemed to have it, but the Orks kept that fighting spirit up and played (surprisingly)smart taking objectives. When the reinforcements arrived the rubble slowed them, but their hearts were still in the fight.... until they saw the last initial defenders die on the far objectives and a giant towering stompa to their right. Their charges, and hearts falter. The surprise fails and the men see the commanding control the orks have over the battlefield and run. Excellent play, glad he stuck it outside the abysmal start, but a few lucky moves(And unlucky ones from his opponent) and objective play earns him the last second turn around.
Reinforcements rushing in: CHARGE! Dice: NO. Narration: The harried, panting Imperials gazed up at the smoking, sparking behemoth of steel and realized they were too late. It was not by much, but it was enough.
