- I don’t know if you knew this or not but Formula One is kind of a big deal. The sport has been growing at an astounding rate in recent years and this year was set to feature the biggest calendar in the sports history with 24 races. Countries, companies, cities, and states and begging Liberty Media to be allowed a slot on the racing calendar and in today’s video, were going to cover some of those. Some will be unsurprising, some will be exciting, and some are downright ridiculous so don’t go anywhere.

If there's gonna be more races per season they've got to allow more constructors to participate in the championship
Agreed!!
Then more should commit to building engines.
Yeah agreed i think thats why they're allowing audi to join in 2026
@@Corrupted_Oberon. your exactly right, audi committed to building engines before the bought their share of sauber.
The problem with gm is that they are waiting on Andretti getting in. While F1 wants GM to commit before they allow a new team on the grid.
Apparently Hitch & Andretti Cadillac have bidded to enter the sport in 2026
If Kyalami is a no-go then the answer is NONE OF THEM.
@BeauRivage Undulation. The track is has amazing high speed corners and big dips. Also has very wide sections that are great for overtaking. Iconic track
@BeauRivage The marshalls
@@AyushZ22 bruh
Just make Tilke the "racetrack butcher" to not destroy it....
Kyalami is dead. RIP. Yuppies destroyed a legendary track for profit. If you don't know, then you don't know.
Spa gone, but we're going racing in a London WAREHOUSE instead. This is outrageous
Only thing more outrageous is the prospect of America hosting 4 race's in a single season...
what?
London, yuk. With all the fantastic old school tracks in the UK, regenerate some. My all time fav, Brands Hatch
Silverstone a sellout every single year even before Netflix 🤷♂️ like wtf……. Haha 😂
NOTHING is worth loosing Spa
There’s no way they’ll ever remove SPA
@@luukjansen4221 There IS a threshold that Spa will not be able to pay. And the FIA will never admid that they should help Spa to stay on the calendar. Monaco and Spa (and Le Mans) will ALWAYS be THE crown jewels of motorsport.
It's a beautiful venue, but the races there have been a bit boring for a while now.
Spa 🇧🇪 has zero money. 🚫💰 for future races. 🤷♂️ unfortunately- I say the fans all get together and do a crowdfunding gofundme for Spa race 🏁 or something
How fast is F1 growing? This fast. I live in a country club community in the US with a lot of retirees and widows. I wore a Red Bull pull-over to an event a couple of weeks ago. One of the widows came to me and asked, “are you a Max Verstappen fan?” Several others joined in the conversation. I was surprised to learn that these 70-year-old plus widows knew a lot about F1, had arisen early that morning to watch FP1, and knew all about the track, the standings, and the race.
In what country?
Fair enough if that's in the US. In the UK, it's pretty standard that older people know more about F1 than millennials courtesy of the 70s and 80s. The big gains F1 have made here in the past few years have been in young adults and millennials from the Netflix series.

Until they down size the cars, it’s hard for street circuit to work
None of them actually other than, perhaps, Kyalami. I would like to see a German GP, and certainly a French GP Nurburgring and Clement Ferrand spring to mind. Whatever, with the majority of F1 teams based around Silverstone, it would be complete madness to leave. Alternating between circuits has never been a viable option as the circuits need a yearly income. The sorting hat should be based on fan attendance at the weekend, so that would certainly insure the continuance of GP's at Silverstone, Monza, Spa, Australia and Austin.
Fan attendance doesn’t mean anything in terms of profit.
The Nurburgring was banned in the 70's it will never ever be raced on again because of what happened to Nikki Lauda

Honestly, I'd love to see the Hungarian Grand Prix hosted at Balaton Park instead of the Hungaroring. Might actually have some fun there and not Monaco 2.0 but with less walls.
4:01 balaton park circuit, HR
5:51 Atlantic City, USA
7:08 Kyalami, South Africa
8:01 Sansibar, Tansania
8:33 London, GB
It's so stupid that there are so many fantastic racetracks in the US, yet they choose to expose a new group of viewers to the worst type of racing which is city circuits.
There could be a lot more than three US races in the season if the top road courses were brought up to FIA Grade 1 standard, but the international fans wouldn't like it.
Why the **** does F1 get rid of circuits instead of doing what they did w/ Hockenheim and the Nurburgring GP. They should do that with most if not all circuits so iconic tracks aren’t left to rot. 😢 I’m sad that they would do this.
I’m with you I love the circuits tracks more then the street tracks they’re making I love how technical the circuit tracks are then the street tracks
Because oil rich autocrats are willing to cough up plenty more dollars than any of the iconic tracks are able to.
Those German tracks, esp Hockenheim, ruined.
Hockenheim was butchered, it is not the track we fondly remember
Mr Crabs mate. 😉💵💰🤑
Doesn't matter what the FIA wants or what teams think, the physical demands and mental strain of a 32 race season is asking far too much of drivers.
Don't have much preference for where the new tracks are built but maybe a system that keeps some of the classic venues while others are rotated in and out of the lineup so, that tracks change every year? Not sure if that's realistic but would certainly let other venues get a share of the pie?
yeah 32 races would probably require a crew A and crew B so the mechs can rest
28 races?
in the middle of the current amount and the overwhelming amount
I’d still take 26
With names like Fangio, Senna , Piquet, Fittipaldi, and Montoya there should be more races in S. América. There are probably more fans than anywhere except Europe. Punta del Este held a Formula E race. Would be a great venue FULL of passionate fans.
South Africa!
Russia and its vasal states should be boycotted
None if it cost tracks like Spa their race !!!!!
SOUTH AFRICA
I'd really like Kyalami so it truly is a world championship, will feel special
What if Sepang and Marina Bay take turns to host F1. Maybe once every 4 years we have a race in Sepang. Probably that would make it possible for us to have a race there again. I do think people were more likely come to the Singapore gp instead of Malaysian GP if given the choice to attend one each year. So if they don't host both race the same year, then the tickets for Sepang would get more sales
You do know Malaysia is salty of what Singapore
Honestly I don't like Yas Marina. It's one of the ones I honestly want to get rid of, same with Miami. Bring back Sepang and Hockenheim in their place.
@@koketsok7391 As a Malaysian, I have to admit that you're correct

@@michaelleblanc6070but that’ll unfortunately never happen, because of the oil money, same way Qatar and Saudi have races
It's time to drop monaco and swap a more exciting track in. Sorry not sorry
If F1 wants another track in the US, they need to start rotating them like they used to for Nurburgring and Hockenheim
And Fuji and Suzuka.
the united states is the size of continental europe. it would be the equivalent of swapping silverstone with monza every other year.
go an hour in any direction in any particular european country and you can cross 2 or 3 international borders. go an hour in any direction in any particular state and you're still inside that state. y'all don't understand how big the united states really is.

@@ctkatz nope. One gp per country. With your argument China couldve have multiple gp Brazil Russia also....Why?
Road America is one that will always be a wish track for me, I've noticed quite a F1 drivers both active/retired call it a favorite among them! The circuit is the oldest in the USA, built in 1957, and is over 6km long (over 4mi!), the only things holding it back from an FIA Grade 1 from the looks of it, is that the track width does seem kinda skinny, like Monaco skinny, and F1 cars are pretty wide now, and the obvious problem, RA doesn't have permanent garages.
For those wondering where the track is, RA is located in my homestate of Wisconsin, at Elkhart Lake, west of Sheboygan, Southeast from the Fox Cities, literally half way between Green Bay and Milwaukee. So like Spa in Belgium, it's kinda in the middle of no where, but it's not far from many cities where fans can stay, and even the rich people could stay at (Kohler for instance has Whistling Straits golf course, a PGA Major Championship venue!). If Miami, Vegas, and Atlantic City don't work out, F1 HAS to try Road America at least once, even if it's just an exhibition race or test track, cuz believe it or not, F1 has NEVER RACED THERE in the near 70 years of its existence! It would also help fill in the summer months cuz Wisconsin during June or July is not that hot compared to the Middle East, Miami, Vegas, COTA, among other places. RA has also drawn over 100k for NASCAR recently, and IndyCar draws well too.
No one wants a f1 race in Wisconsin, maybe one in new York or at laguna seca
@@_pawzl that's insulting, not to mention they already had F1 in NY, Watkins Glen, they haven't been there in ages cuz the track isn't good enough anymore. Roman Grosjean has raced on Laguna Seca as well for Indy (He's a former F1 driver), the corkscrew according to him would absolutely fuck up F1 cars, it would be too dangerous of a race compared to even Monaco.
If Wisconsin can host an upcoming NFL draft, PGA major championships, NASCAR and Indy races, among other prestigious events, it can host an F1 race.
I find it insulting you think i don’t know who Grosjean is
Im not saying f1 couldn’t race there, I’m just saying its not what f1 wants in terms of image, its not flashy enough for celebrities to want to go there. I get it your just trying to rep for your home circuit but saying it hosts prestigious events is just wrong, hosting nascar and having a pga grade course isn’t good enough for f1 dude just think about it logically, road America among the likes of monaco, abu dabhi, las vegas, baku, miami ect
@@frenchfrey65 all I’m saying is f1 is a thousands times more likely to go for races in California and New York rather than Wisconsin, and they clearly don’t care about the race quality with all these new street circuits so that should give you an idea of what Liberty Media is looking for in terms of races.
Kyalami. And Spa must stay!
F1 needs to start having a race track lottery each year before the season. This would go to tracks without a contract already or running out of a contract and with tracks that can host on the same weekend/s. This plan might need some work, but no country in my opinion should be denied because "historical" tracks "must" be in the calendar.
Balaton Park definitely piqued my interest, if it were to replace the Hungaroring. Any other tracks? Kyalami... and then that's it
Why not get rid of Miami and Vagas, even sit out COTA, go to either Road America or Watkins Glen? We know Sebring is out since it’s a back breaker on the last turn to the front stretch, I’d be happy with either of them two in place of Miami and Vegas.
Watkins Glen is grade 2 track, road america as well
@@imi0505 They should take the races out of the US and put them where they can hold real racing events where the "fans" don't take up two seats each.
@@earschplittenloudenboomer5714 totally agree
32 races would be possible if backup drivers had a minimum amount of time the have to drive per season. Drama potential over 123 seats would be fun
Interesting idea
Do you have any great other ideas? 24 races is already way to much.....18-20 is fine. Why 3 races in usa? This f1 is nonsense
I guess that the Balaton Ring would be a solution, since Hungaro Ring is very narrow. We should see overtakes, which are almost impossible on Hungaro ring now days, due to the cars being wider. And I'm really fed up with races where the only move is done at the pit-stop.
Hungaroring had the 6th most overtakes in 2022 with a number of sixty-something on multiple places of the track. Not to mention it's one of the very few curcuits where 2 stop can be a decent strategy.
My F1 dream calendar biggest wishes;
Canada; Mont Tremblant comeback
Usa west; Laguna Seca, Sears Point or Long Beach comeback
Usa east; Watkins Glen comeback
Australia; Bathurst
China; Macau
Uk; Brands Hatch comeback
Spain; Montjuich comeback
Unfortunately I highly doubt Laguna Seca will ever happen because of the corkscrew.
@@S.P.Q.Rrespublicas is that too steep for a formula 1 ?

Cities beg Liberty EXCEPT Vegas. They had to beg Vegas and had to front the money themselves for like the first time ever. It’s always been the host before (usually the city or a sponsor) footing the upfront costs/bill, but this time Liberty itself was the host in Vegas and footed the bill themselves
I say, for the sake of the drivers Ed, for the sake of the integrity of the championship get rid of Monaco. It is not fair to the drivers, because there is no fighting chance so long as you can make first place in qualifying.
The Bend Motorsport Park in South Australia needs to be on the calendar d be part of a back to back weekends in Australia

LONDON!
I think they should have every year tracks and every other year tracks, put them all in.
One track I would like to see people discussing and looking at would be an underrated one. Autodrom Most in the Czech Republic would be a sick track to host f1 due to its high downforce high speed nature and its flowing nature of its rising and falling topography Although only grade 2 it has hosted races such as 2018-2021 WTCR, World Superbikes, Formula Renault 2.0 between 2014-2018 and many Czech republic national championships to this day. Even though grade 2 it has world class spectator facilities, stands and pits and would not take much to gain grade 1 certification due to it already having grade 1 spec gravel traps, curbing, pits and only requiring a bit of tech pro barriers and some extra tyre walls, I hope the track can gain some momentum as it would make the perfect addition to the calendar.
Here are 4 suggestions for new circuits in formula one:
North Dakota grand prix:huff hills ski resort
South Dakota grand prix:huset Speedway
East Dakota grand prix:elko Speedway
West Dakota grand prix:montana snowbowl
Kyalami is definitely a no go. (And' it's more of a motorbike track now sadly... I was at the '85 and '92 SA GPs, both won by Nigel Mansell driving for Wiillams back when they were a powerhouse team.)
What the video doesn't say is that Toby Venter (owner of Kyalami and the Porsche license for South Africa) wants Liberty to pay him to host the race (not the other way around as with all the other tracks.) The Provincial and National Govt don't have the funds to pay for the race. And there's no funds to pay for the necessary upgrades to the track to get it to F1 safety standards.
Maybe we'll see MotoGP, WEC, more GT, type racing at Kyalami. Kenya has the Safari Rally on the WRC schedule, which is a great historic event (take note Liberty [I'd like to see France, Germany back on the calendar and Spa kept on the calendar]... and it's nice not to have everything world championship-related in Africa in SA.) If there was to be a SA GP, it's more likely to go to a street track in Cape Town. Cape Town has a Formula E street track (this track is no way fit for purpose for F1) and has hosted WRX at Killarney, which is a small club circuit.... not even at Snetterton/Oulton Park/Thruxton level.
I live in South Africa I’ve been waiting for a South African go forever
DTS is ruining the sport, and especially the fan zone. Absolute drivel.
New Zealand should have a grand Prix and perhaps a grand Prix at the iconic Bathurst circuit in Australia
I can imagine the Balatonring as a temporary replacement track when the Hungaroring will get a full revamp.
Wait is the Hungarorint getting a revamp? Why and when?
@@OG-512 I was read some Hungarian news, the main building has to be revamped to meet the FIA recommendations. Bigger boxes, bigger space for the media, etc.
Due to the limitations and the condition of the building this will mean a full rip and replace.
They are planning this since years but for different reasons it got postponed year over year (COVID, energy crisis, etc). The plan was to do it beween two F1 races, but with a new Grade-1 track in Hungary I can imagine a longer revamp time.

German GP, French GP, Sepang and Kyalami all need to be on the calendar. I think you could easily get rid of Spa and the Hungaroring (especially if they are going to build another track in Hungary) and they could even get rid of one of the 3 GP's in USA and Imola (even though I love the track). And being a biased Australian I would love to see a F1 race in Sydney racing over the Sydney Harbour Bridge. It would be such a spectacle very similar to Vegas.

My opinion, F1 should not have street/city races. There are more than enough built circuits, for the purpose of motor racing. Just use the circuits. We have 24 races with 7 street races where overtaking is impossible. Just get ride of Monaco already.

an argument for another american race:
compare the united states to continental europe. the us is just as big with more people. putting another race in the united states is, depending on the location, similar to adding another race in europe. the us is a unique position of being a continent sized country with multiple population centers where having multiple races in one country doesn't hurt the possible profitability of the other.
I however wouldn't have more than 5 (or 4 with mexico city) united states races. takes away from the rest of the world. a 6 north american/8 europeaan/4 austral-asian/4 middle eastern/2 wild card location mix I think is a very fair representative world championship calendar.
