To be fair no Vegas resident would drive on the strip (take the 15 and then jump off onto Dean Martin Drive or Frank Sinatra Drive and get where you need to go - presumably work). The problems are around Sands Ave and Harmon Ave because that's how locqls will get to their work on the strip from that side of town. The Strip itself has been a car park for years. I just got back from Vegas last week. It's a shame that from now on, 3 months a year the strip will be littered with F1 related stuff. Iconic views like the Bellagio Fountains being blocked, ugly lighting structures all over the strip, lanes being closed, constant construction etc...
It was a good race, the only complaint was with the FIA and Carlos Sainz, that 10 grid spot penalty was bull sh-t. They really should consider moving the race up to an earlier date next year. Iam sure it had a lot to do with the new construction and the time constraints associated with that.
Agreed, gutted for Sainz, should NEVER be punished for that. Well I saw they said pre-order tickets now for November 20th? I heard they was gonna move to October but not sure
Just been to Vegas and seen various construction around for the up coming race, including two new stands in front of the fountains at the Bellagio. Talking to various taxi drivers, they all hate F1 being there
This race was pretty fun. Yes, we all hate they keep adding street races, but at least this one wasn't too bad. Don't get me wrong, I would take Hockenheim or Portimão any day before I take Vegas, but at least it's not Miami. Ugh.
Oh I FULLY agree, I thought the race was amazing. I was just stating the complaints people had. In my head I thought you can't judge until its all said and done, and certainly the race was great

I cant imagine how crazy it was in town during all the road construction. Ha, when I moved away last year, Rainbow was still under construction in its 30th year or so by the 215.
This is a great recap of the first year of F1 returning to Vegas. There are quite a few casinos I'm sure will LOVE having the type of clients that F1 brings. This is a massive bet for F1, but the American Market needs to be tapped and there's not a better city to do it in. From my perspective, if you move to this city the first thing you should expect is a developer to come in and disrupt everything with a bigger project than the last person. I don't have much sympathy for the people who are inconvenienced. They buy into it by moving here.

I think it would have worked better visually to not have bleachers in front of the Bellagio fountains. Leave the scenery open and have the fountains going off during the race
F1 keeps talking about all the money this event is going to bring in - somewhere between $500m to $1b. What they don't factor in is 'opportunity costs'... ie, without F1, how much money would Vegas have generated during a normal weekend in November? And then subtract that from what F1 actually brings in, and you'll see what the true 'benefit' is. And it's not going to be as big as people think, and the juice might not be worth the squeeze economically. But oh well, it's F1's money. Vegas already has a $45b annual tourism economy. Is the disruption to all the casinos/tourism spots once a year worth it in the long run to increase total tourism revenues by 1-2% total annually?
One thing they did say on SkySports today is that they picked this weekend as its one of Vegas's least busy weekends (week before thanks giving in america), so in terms of opprutunity cost, I thnk they'd 10000% take an f1 race

Sounds to me like as always somebody dropped the ball
kudos to all the construction workers, electricians, fencers, HVAC, welders, plumbers, engineers, iron workers, etc it's insane to build something that would take 5+ years in just 1 year! This should boost and revive a tired and aging Las Vegas, despite all the complaints, it's amazing! Wish I was there!
Personally, now that F1 is built, the traffic has gotten so much better. The peak of the traffic is definitely over but it was hell. I remember getting off at 12am and getting home at 330am on a 25 min drive home 🙄🙄
If the racing is like this again in the future, the Las Vegas GP will succeed. They can get faster at setup and breakdown. This will fix many of residents concerns. F1 does need to do better to connect with the Las Vegas community. whether its opening a free F1 museum in Las Vegas at their space they own year round or investing in local open wheel racing projects. They could open a F1 themed go kart track or something that the community would enjoy. Find ways to increase the community's love of racing and F1 while also not being money hungry scumbags. They don't have to charge exorbitant prices for a museum or go kart track but those things will increase the popularity of the event and provide a direct link between F1 and the people and tourists of vegas.

now i understand why hamilton and perez's cars are so far down in the grid....them two have been struggling with top speed and being slower all year long
well half of the stuff, like the paddock building etc is permenant, but next year they will have to still build temproarry granstands, put the lighting up etc, and take it down after the race. Thats just how F1 street circuits work, it will cost ALOT less next year, maybe 50-150m
@@EverythingExplainedd no these numbers always go vastly over budget due to greedy employees. so if you say 50-100m then i say 100-200m. they are mighty mighty bold to think that they can fetch this kind of money from this type of consumer.. they clearly are going to lose a ton of money this year and they expect to make it back next year. come on man. vegas is on par to do another 2008 crisis my man this is just stupid stupid gambling with tax dollars. las vegas is supposed to bring in money from gamblers not do the gambling itself.
also im not trying to be dictating and telling you anything at all here. or that im right here but I just dont see how this makes any sense is all. I'm just trying to understand it. ive been a big tax payer in las vegas for 20 plus years and am really looking to maybe leave because i just dont trust living the rest of my life in this crap hole that doesnt care about its people at all. i was able to pay off my house here 9 years ago because i bought at the lowest possible time but it seems like time to sell and leave out of here. i really feel like im witnessing this greed of 2005 just crazy crazy spending. all the sports teams etc.
That is not what it looked like you make it look empty it was not after starting came back and then wanted Vegas to pay 40,000,000 for the pavement you don't have clue and do not fully understand
They had already started it was not empty ground there was a smaller casino and hotel there I can't remember the name I used koval to go to Ellis Island hotel that was 2 miles from mgm that took 1.5 hours drive and Uber drivers refused to go to cause it was not worth it
The street didnt continue operating. It took an hour to drive a mile. Most locals just want F1 to go away. It’s only beneficial for a handful of elites. Ticket sale are less exciting his year. I’m hoping for a freak blizzard on race night. And the 1.8 billion is beneficial to who? Sure not to most folks who live here.
It probably brought a lot of money in though from jobs created to run the thing, to the service industry etc. Rich people also might see it worth opening up a business to benefit from it. I’m pretty sure locals need jobs.
About the timing of the race and other events; Yes, it seems weird if you want to gain American fans. But it isn't an American sport. Europeans need to stay up crazy late to watch some of American Football matches too.
Reporters claim that the residents are 'furious' at this spectacle. But, sensible LV residents know this brings in a boatload of money over a very short period of time.
so as is normal its your members of the public who take all the pain in their lives been disrupted for how ever long it was. but its the rich and big businesses who make all the gain , money basically from the race .your average citizen will never see a penny from this

I found the current video quality to be below par and quite surprising given your subscriber count. Your voice could benefit from sounding more pleasant, as the current accent is somewhat grating to the ears. Notably, you didn't show your face, perhaps implying it might not be visually appealing to eyes either. If so, then keep it hidden! While I acknowledge that improvement takes time, subscribing now feels more like a gesture of goodwill than a genuine compliment. I encourage you to diligently work on refining your content over the upcoming months to enhance overall quality, so one day you will be worthy of my subscription, which is superior to all others. This should boost and revive a tired and aging Las Vegas, despite all the complaints, it's amazing! Wish I was there!
Agreed, everyone who took part did amazing
"Blake who used to be max verstappen's race engineer" is more like "nico rosberg, who beat 7 time world champion in equal machinery"
?
Personally, now that F1 is built, the traffic has gotten so much better. The peak of the traffic is definitely over but it was hell. I remember getting off at 12am and getting home at 330am on a 25 min drive home 🙄🙄
thats good to know, that sounds HORRIFIC, hopefully that was the worst it'll ever get! Did the Sphere being built negatively effect you also?
I think it will 10000%, it’s cool spectacle, brings in money and celebs and was actually a fun race
I was thinking about buying that super VIP package for $5m but they sold out before I could buy it.. next year…
Same, god damn it
As a vegas resident we loved it
A feeling red bull are massaging Max into a character.
Hmmmm
LAS VEGAS (KLAS) - Police arrested more than 70 people and identified more than 200 victims in a sex trafficking operation during the Las Vegas Grand Prix. 2023
Lol, do New Orleans next year, lol.
build a track there?
As a racing fan mostly nascar I couldn’t spend $500 just to see the cars pass off one turn.
I know what you mean, as cool as it is to be there, you don’t actually see that much
I would be pissed if I was there at that time. I like racing but what a headache for everyone else.
True, but now everyone knows it’s a thing for 10 years, just didn’t go tvegas on that weekend if you’re not an f1 fan
So the nay sayers were wrong. It was a huge success.
Agreed
Did he say the $5 million villa was "no booze"?
haha no sorry, its called Nobu, its part of Caeser's Palace:
www.caesars.com/las-vegas/suites/villas/overview/caesars-palace/nobu
Thank you, @@EverythingExplainedd
I was there a week before the race for work, the whole setup really fucked up everything.
And now it’s all gotta come down
now i understand why hamilton and perez's cars are so far down in the grid....them two have been struggling with top speed and being slower all year long
how do you think they're going to do in the race?
It funny other countries complain about race time. Us Americans have to deal with it most of the race. But hey that how's the planets works.
Drivers said, it's the Braking which makes quite tricky. I think it's fun to watch these new kind of tracks! Why complaining people?
I mean, i'm personally excited also, but I think im quite easily pleased. I think people shouldn't really judge it until we actually see the race!
Total irrelevant to F1, but was 3:43 from the Hangover trunk scene? lol
haha thats a good shout, not sure
wait they did all this just for 3 days? it isnt permanent atleast? 500 million dollars for 3 days? what ??
well half of the stuff, like the paddock building etc is permenant, but next year they will have to still build temproarry granstands, put the lighting up etc, and take it down after the race.
I'm just trying to understand it. ive been a big tax payer in las vegas for 20 plus years and am really looking to maybe leave because i just dont trust living the rest of my life in this crap hole that doesnt care about its people at all. i was able to pay off my house here 9 years ago because i bought at the lowest possible time but it seems like time to sell and leave out of here. i really feel like im witnessing this greed of 2005 just crazy crazy spending. all the sports teams etc.
guess how much residents see of 1.6B.
zero.
If they put it a night race again, I won't watch live. I didn't watch 2023 live, I watched it recorded afterwards.
fair enough
im sorry the most expensive ticket was in the millions, because everybody obviousy has millions of dollars to spend
I do yeah don’t you!
@@EverythingExplainedd hahahahahahahah
That is not what it looked like you make it look empty it was not after starting came back and then wanted Vegas to pay 40,000,000 for the pavement you don't have clue and do not fully understand
what do you mean I made it look empty? this is a construction video?
They had already started it was not empty ground there was a smaller casino and hotel there I can't remember the name I used koval to go to Ellis Island hotel that was 2 miles from mgm that took 1.5 hours drive and Uber drivers refused to go to cause it was not worth it
While they built that building and skyboxes9 months
Small business suffered and were lost
How the Las Vegas F1 Track was Built?
Well considering a manhole cover flew up into one of the Ferrari during practice, not very well.
Hahah, you could say that
The street didnt continue operating.
I’m pretty sure locals need jobs.
so their whole game plan was to collect 15 grand from every single person from 100,000 people in just 3 days? 🙄
noooo, paddock club is like the VIP area, thats the 15,000 tickket
From recent media reports it's looking to be one of the worst F1 race tracks!
The actual race isn’t that bad!
Y’a qui qui fait des cours d’anglais sur cette vidéos j’ai besoin d’aide les bg
comment puis-je aider?
About the timing of the race and other events;
Yes, it seems weird if you want to gain American fans. But it isn't an American sport.
Europeans need to stay up crazy late to watch some of American Football matches too.
oh yeah I agree, I mean im from the UK, gonna wake up at 6am to watch, but if it was any earlier, I wouldnt bother
Reporters claim that the residents are 'furious' at this spectacle. But, sensible LV residents know this brings in a boatload of money over a very short period of time.
oh yeah for sure, thats why I said its short term pain, long term gain, and each year it'll be more streamlined so shouldn't be as bad
circuit looks like a pig
Now you’ve said that I can’t unsee it
You're right it does and now that Red Bull won, That pig definitely has wings...lol
Las Vegas is like Monaco except raw.
not as much history there just yet...
so as is normal its your members of the public who take all the pain in their lives been disrupted for how ever long it was. but its the rich and big businesses who make all the gain , money basically from the race .your average citizen will never see a penny from this
hopefully it trickles down
Race time sucks
Seems vegas lost more than it gained.
There's substantial room for improvement in your video editing, especially considering your 15,000 subscribers.
Good day, Sir.
hahahaha, whatever shall I do if Smith9808 doesn't honour me with his prestigious subscription? Oh yeah leave my house which he clearly hasn't done since birth
@@EverythingExplainedd😅 glad you had a good laugh. Was going to say only joking at the end. But wanted you to believe someone could be that much of a pretentious prick for a few hours 😂
MBL 🤣
LOL my bad
All I hear is the huge money bringing into the city, But who is seeing it, The casinos owners , Hotel Owners and F1, No one else , alot of locl businesses were hurt by this, The locals were not making diddly. It was a huge disruption for months and to the locals not worth it,
very true, doesnt tricle down
It's all about $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$
Facts
The city is too busy for this crap and as much as I love racing, I hated the mess they turned the city into. It has ruined Vegas for 6mos for all visitors and locals! Dumbest idea a man has come up with yet!
Hopefully less disruption next year
If you think F1 made it exciting….. JUST WAIT….. Super Bowl LVIII is less than 10 weeks away……
yo bro, you've just given me a great video idea for Feb, thank you!
How the Las Vegas Superbowl Stadium was Built
Coming to you on February 1st!
This race was so boring. Make it 24 hour's not 50 laps.
I enjoyed it
From a buisness perspective, is F1 still in the hole, did they break even or come out ahead?
not sure yet
Disgusting waste of money while millions starve
Well world hunger needs to be solved, but you could say that about literally any form of entertainment if thats your argument?
