My husband worked 12 years at Walmart. His favorite "return" story: A 12 year old Weber grill brought back with hot dogs still rolling around inside it - and they gave the customer money back! 😳
A 12 year old Weber? That means the top handle has long since burned off, and the remaining metal hoop busted/rusted off too, as well as both side handles. Ash receptacle? Wheels? A distant memory. Gutsy return. Shameless. Nice touch with the hot dogs, though.
I just discovered your channel tonight and subscribed after the first episode. I am a fairly new woodworker, having graduated from San Diego State University at the age of 58 in May 2022! I am setting up a small shop in my 2 car garage and am checking out tools I need at home. I've never heard about palette auctions so I'm going to check them out. Your show is top-notch and very well done!
I work for a big box home improvement store so I watch for the tool deals. Corporate does some wild stuff with pricing, they'll clearance a bunch of stuff down to ridiculous prices for like a day then shoot them back up to regular price. I grab em when they're low and resell them. I got 6 Dewalt hammer drill impact driver sets with a regular and max battery just like the one you got for $79 each. I resold all but one for $150 each, all went in 2 days. Chaching!
I got the deep cut cordless Dewalt bandsaw once for free. They had a deal where you bought a two pack of batteries. Pick your free tool. Had that at the bottom of the list online. They had the band saw in a clearance isle in the store. The worker who showed me where it was didn't even think the deal would work. I should have bought both of them.
You know finding a good Home Depot pallet is hard when you have to join forces with your Doppelganger to track them down. Also.... That compact DeWALT chainsaw is nice. It's on my short list of near future tool purchases. I like the fact that it works with that company's 20volt battery system. And, especially the fact that it has an actual chain-brake. Unlike certain other compact chainsaws from certain other companies. (Seriously, how do you NOT include a basic safety feature that modern-day arborists and professional loggers rely on while doing their jobs.)
Hey John. I look forward to your show each week. From the builds to the boxes and all the shenanigans in between. If you haven’t found a home for some of that dewalt stuff I will gladly pay for it. I am only 2.5hrs from Pittsburgh area. Keep up the fun and entertainment.
Thanks for helping us save on not getting scammed, i seen a few things i would like to own,but don’t want to take on the chance of getting scammed. as a girl that loves power tools,i have enjoyed watching yall open up everything. It’s like a Christmas surprise.😀
They way you are talking teh Ryobi bran down, I counld agree more, but they did get me started. I bought the Ryobi workbench you have there and it was the worst thing I every bought. I ended up takeing it apart and used the vice/clamp mechanics onto my bench and it worked well as a bench vice and the dogs helped with holding stock on the table. I really love it as an add on the a workbench. Maybe a video to take apart the vice/clamp and adding it to a workbench. If you want, I can send you a pis.Quite and easy retrofit.
Well dang I use ryobi all the time had my combo kit for almost 8 years and still going strong. But I could use most of that stuff lol. How do you even buy pallet of stuff. My kid is starting his own wood working shop. And I'm helping on a budget the best I can lol
The 40 piece sets say 'not found in system' in marker on the box. Having worked on retail, probably means it was a promo sku for a holiday sale, then after the sale, even if they carry essentially the same set, they can't sell, as the promo sku got deleted from the system. So they probably just lumped it in with the returns
Not every HD "return" is returned by a customer. Used to work their return desk. We also processed sending incorrect items back to vendors, a bunch of that stuff looked like mislabeled things that nobody opened to inspect and just RTV'ed
I have one of those Workmate 125s due to living in an apartment - nice that I can pull it out, open it up, and do some work on my balcony, then fold it up and stick it back in the storage closet, since I don't have space inside. On another note, I wonder if some of these unopened/unused returns might be due to HD sending unsold clearance items off to liquidators, rather than just being all actual customer returns.
At this point "shipping" is just a way for some companies to make extra money... I recently paid 60 Euros for having a mini oven (fits into a standard L size package) shipped in land, low priority. Somehow if i buy the same shipping label its only 13,99... One would think shipping is cheaper for companies compared to individuals.
Even if you break even on the value, none of it is under warranty. You’re better off paying retail with a warranty. Plus if you’re reselling, there’s always seller fees and shipping depending on the selling platform, so it’s not worth it unless you can double your money from what you paid in total.
I love the workmates. I have 3 of them. Very handy for tiny garage setup. I even keep one on back deck for BBQ/work uses. Grandfather used ryobi for quick garage/house stuff. Lots of tool options for them I’ve found. Great score on the dewalt stuff. Love to have the workmates. Give away to fans!
Yes, I was stunned at his quick dismissal of them, too. Maybe cause they're popular with the weekend warriors who use them as a prop, even they don't know how to unfold them. They kick ass in countless ways, I've actually worn one out, agree wholeheartedly!
The electric chain saw is so much more useful than you will ever give it credit for. If you just need to cut up a fallen limb in the yard there is no better tool. They are also awesome if you are up on a lift for a short trim session.
I appreciate these videos to see what’s crap and what’s actually decent. I am getting into woodworking as a hobbyist, so I’m not buying the most high-end tools out there. Thanks!
Still little profit margin left, no one in their right mind should pay full retail if you choose to sell it. But love to see stuff like this with the honesty of not getting even in the past pallets.
My father LOVES his Black and Decker bench. He's had it since the 90's and when that comes out, he means business! Every time I see one I think of how excited he gets when he uses it.
They're really handy if you don't have space and/or money for a 5,000 square foot woodworking shop filled with equipment that cost more than my house. I love mine!

the small hole in the chainsaw bar is for grease to be put in the bar tip bearing not where oil comes out. if oil is coming out the oil feed is to high.
I think this one was a good haul because it was after Father's Day, towards the end of summer. I'd bet pallets sold just after Christmas are decent as well.
Those work benches are alright if you're working in a house. I'd never use one in a workshop where you could just have a normal bench but they're good if you've got limited space and need to be mobile
This looks like all seasonal promo items which at the time were sold at a discount, after the promo is over they go back to "retail" price which is why there are odd prices when you look them up. You can start your own swap meet with this junk. On a side note, the first power took I bought brand new was a Ryobi drill about 12 years ago and it still works fine with the original 2 batteries, I have since replaced Dewalt, Ridgid branded batteries, and tools that were only a couple years old. As a former big box DIY associate I'd say we'd throw away pallets like this almost daily and it was included in daily budgets.
I'd be happy to take one of those Workmates off your hands. I'm just getting started in woodworking (well, generating sawdust to be honest) and I have a tiny apartment. A folding workbench would make life a lot easier. Look forward to the videos every Sunday. Thanks!
Theses videos always Crack me up. I repair tools for a living and I constantly see brands and specific models that make me think "of course it's a return" $399 cordless nail gun...more like a $400 paper weight in a month
I have the xr 20v max impact driver from the combo kit from my momma she bought it for the drill because it was cheaper with the charger and battery so she didn't need the impact driver so she gave me that one works great..
Man, I been using a Black & Decker cordless weed-Wacker for the past few years and the batteries I have suck so bad. Even after a full charge it will only run like 6-7 minutes before the battery dies. Just a pain in the but to be honest, if I had extra cash I would just buy a new one, maybe a Dewalt without the battery bc I have 2 batteries from my drill kit.
DeWalt actually sells a kit with either a set of the 5.0ah batteries and charger or the 8.0ah they market it as the accessories kit exactly why my momma bought the combo kit and that absolutely paid you back in value sir
My grandma bought a Ryobi leaf blower in battery along with the charger. She was very dissatisfied with the power that it would remove leaves with. I immediately had her return that and went to harbor freight and was able to get one with nearly twice the cubic feet per minute for half the price she paid for the battery charger and blower not to mention she got a free drill along with it that she gave to me. That drill is one of the best drills that I own and honestly significantly better than my Milwaukee. It might sound controversial but when it comes to twerk it gets its ass kicked every time.

ive made the comment in the past and ill do it again, my son is starting automotive mechanic school and the impacts would be a good thing for him to have with his tool kit that i purchased for him. So see if local schools or trade school could use the tools for classroom of some sort.
As a home depot associate. Some of those tools were parts of some bogo deals. Alot of people will buy the battery kit and return the free tool. So Instead of paying 200$ for a pack of batteries you end up paying 100$ instead. And you get refunded the other 100$.
Where’s your “store”. I actually like those work mates, good to have one or two string around. I got them for $10 each a few months ago when they were on clearance, I’d like another.
4:30 ryobi honestly has some cool storage kits/organizers. And it's 1/3 the price of other name brands. I understand the dislike but for occasional things it's not bad. Certain tools I'll spend more but for things I don't use often ryobi is just fine.
I doubt you'll ever get a nice pallet like the first one. The auction places have contract with the vendors that first aquire the product. Then the reach out to the places sell by the pallet or by item. At least that's what I've been told from I few places where I live (IN).
I got a slick Makita weed trimmer with all kinds of heads and blades and I forget the voltage I think it's weird like 24 V but got it for 89.00 bucks and that black n Decker is 80
I bought some M12 tools on Black Friday, returned them for the m18, and thought about these return pallets, so whoever gets the 3” cutoff tool I returned, I threw in 10 Diablo cut off wheels for ya!
Did I miss the link for the Dewalt giveaway? I could use some new tools. I got a Ryobi Oscillating multi tool from my brother for Christmas. It worked for one day. ~ Also, could I buy that B&D string trimmer (cordless)? My 1990s craftsman I bought at Sears years ago doesn't start well. (Probably ethanol gas use). ~ Thanks for any reply.
I’d love to see if you can get your hands on returns from super premium tools like festool and Hilti. Probably would be tougher to source but I suspect there are a lot of speciality tools whom get returned after 1 job.
a lot of the stuff that you know you will never use, it would be unbelievable to guys like me in small shops with no decent tools to get some of the items you have multiples of. when we lost most of my tools a few years ago, to someone ripping my garage off, using my shop carts to steal my stuff while I was staying in the VA hospital for a month having back surgery, there has never been a time I could replace most of them. I know there are a lot of other guys like me around, that would be over the moon to have the tools you cap on as stuff you would never want to use. even those shop benches would be an improvement to the folding table a lot of us guys have to use.
I have watched SEVERAL of these liquidation unboxings from other people. So far the only ones that have been a decent buy has been the two you had that were good. so that's less than 10% of all I've seen. I'm very glad that at least yours were good.

I know plenty of tradesmen that use Rigid, including myself in the past. Ryobi, not so much. Ryobi doesnt make bad stuff, just not things rated for heavy field use. Their stuff tends to break on any real heavy use.
@@XanderfiedI’ve never known anyone to use Rigid, one of the guys uses ryobi because he doesn’t want to spend $200 on an impact driver… but is fine with spending $80 every week on a new one lol
@@Fetidaf Rigid isnt that bad really. Much better than Ryobi.
Every episode gives me another reason to be baffled by the fact that John still has all of his appendages.
"Appendage Watch"
You just have to be careful of what you drop into the blender is all.
what, doesn't every throw a knife around :)
He's more of a danger to the people AROUND him than he is to himself. What an absolute TOOL of a person. pun intended.
Well said! 😂
Praying over you!❤
That “Yeeaaah, you’re different”
Brilliant!!
Praying over you!
Thanks for helping us save on not getting scammed, i seen a few things i would like to own,but don’t want to take on the chance of getting scammed. as a girl that loves power tools,i have enjoyed watching yall open up everything. It’s like a Christmas surprise.😀
I could use the 10 Amp batteries. Pallet videos are fun to watch when it's not hole saws.
4:58 This is the most midwestern thing I've heard in a while and I'm here for it.
Love your videos. Watching them has made me get back into woodworking. Thank you
They way you are talking teh Ryobi bran down, I counld agree more, but they did get me started.
These pallet videos are a bunch of fun to watch. 👍
The Ryobi tools are pretty good, depending on how much of a workhorse you need.
Praying over you!
Well dang I use ryobi all the time had my combo kit for almost 8 years and still going strong. But I could use most of that stuff lol. How do you even buy pallet of stuff. My kid is starting his own wood working shop. And I'm helping on a budget the best I can lol
Hey I've been getting into wood working but right now I'm working on a free power generator made with springs and a drill motor
Hey I’m 20 and I’m moving into a house built in the 20s bought out of a sears catolog and I’m in the need for tools any and all!!!!
Even if you break even on the value, none of it is under warranty. You’re better off paying retail with a warranty. Plus if you’re reselling, there’s always seller fees and shipping depending on the selling platform, so it’s not worth it unless you can double your money from what you paid in total.
Just coming across this and can't help but think - how much do these pallets weigh and who are you getting to ship them?
Love Mr Cool. we redid a 400 sqft garage into a bedroom and it is so good! it keeps it cool without a whole lot of energy. Hot and cold. I love it!
Two batteries and the charger in the bag are a starter kit. They sell as a promo and you get a free tool when you buy.
My Ryobi One+ kit has lasted 12 years, still good. Great for hobbyists and occasional DIYers. For serious dudes, yeah DeWalt/Makita.
The electric chain saw is so much more useful than you will ever give it credit for. If you just need to cut up a fallen limb in the yard there is no better tool. They are also awesome if you are up on a lift for a short trim session.
Your editor be bumping them prices like crazy 😂
I appreciate these videos to see what’s crap and what’s actually decent. I am getting into woodworking as a hobbyist, so I’m not buying the most high-end tools out there. Thanks!
I have that mulcher, it is also a blower. Actually has worked pretty well for the last 10 years
The editor needs a fat bonus for all the work he’s put into this video 😂
Try to jump power to the batteries, sometimes they mess up and won't charge til the get enough juice to register
You did GOOD this Time !!!!!🥳😁😁😁
Still little profit margin left, no one in their right mind should pay full retail if you choose to sell it.
@@southstreetbarbecue7875 I grew up in a small row home so everything had to be compact and stowable. It was a great way to grow up because my little shop is my one car garage with a motorcycle and a dirt bike parked in it. I've got ten pounds of shit in my little five pound bag, lol!
@@shadyvito That's exactly my situation. I have a two car garage but one side has an 88 F250 I'm restoring so it's full. The other side has the motor for the truck, as well as leaf blowers, lawn mowers, string trimmers, and other small engine equipment I repair as a hobby. I also make make homemade smokers and other silly things, so I don't have any space! I really need to get myself under control, or at least finish a project. lol
@@southstreetbarbecue7875 Nice! In my little shop I make custom printed Kydex sheaths for throwing axes and custom fishing lures. When I switch from one to the other I have to put away a bunch of tools to make room for other tools. I don't have folding benches like my pops so I use TV trays I got at a yard sale.
@@shadyvito I used to have a barbecue trailer and we bought a ton of those six-foot folding tables for catering jobs. Most of the time I've got tools and parts laid out on the tables outside, and I use the Workmates to actually hold whatever I"m working on. TV trays sound like a great idea! I'd love to see some of those fishing lures though. I don't fish much at all any more but I always loved checking out the tackle in bait shops.
Love your channel everything you guys do is entertaining and sometimes educational. I have the ability to pretty much repair and restore anything so instead of throwing away all the broken and damaged goods, I would gladly take them and repair them. Including batteries and chargers.
What sites are you getting returns from
the small hole in the chainsaw bar is for grease to be put in the bar tip bearing not where oil comes out. if oil is coming out the oil feed is to high.
what website do you buy the pallets from
Sell your shirts or whatever at cost on Black Friday. Throw in items at random just because . Or donate to a trade school / small local business.
I have an excellent suggestion. I'll take one of those Ridgid impact drivers. My Dewalt one crapped out. Worth a shot eh?
This looks like all seasonal promo items which at the time were sold at a discount, after the promo is over they go back to "retail" price which is why there are odd prices when you look them up. You can start your own swap meet with this junk. On a side note, the first power took I bought brand new was a Ryobi drill about 12 years ago and it still works fine with the original 2 batteries, I have since replaced Dewalt, Ridgid branded batteries, and tools that were only a couple years old. As a former big box DIY associate I'd say we'd throw away pallets like this almost daily and it was included in daily budgets.
Dewalt Is just a hopped up Black and Decker . It's the old B&D professional line . Dewalt only ever made 1 tool and that was the radial arm saw .
I had the B&D blower/vacuum only thing I didn't like was that I had to use a few power cords to reach certain parts of my yard....
I could give the ryobi one+ tools a good home. Wonder what it'd cost to get them to 49783?
My grandma bought a Ryobi leaf blower in battery along with the charger. She was very dissatisfied with the power that it would remove leaves with. I immediately had her return that and went to harbor freight and was able to get one with nearly twice the cubic feet per minute for half the price she paid for the battery charger and blower not to mention she got a free drill along with it that she gave to me. That drill is one of the best drills that I own and honestly significantly better than my Milwaukee. It might sound controversial but when it comes to twerk it gets its ass kicked every time.
Any of the rigid tools for sale ? I'm starting out working formyself full time ... just looking to same money on buying tools
Those 10AH dewalt batteries are always dead. Either that or they last like 5mins
Do you know what would be great for installing that Mr Cool stuff? A bunch of Milwaukee Hole Saws!!!! ❤
I will say, while I'm not sure how it would actually work, a leaf blower that you could just attach a bag of mulch to blow it out does sound nice.
Quick hack yall
Its $518 for those big DeWalt 10amp hour batteries
If yiu buy the DeWalt electric lawn mower it comes with 2 of those 10 amp hour batteries, but its only $430,
You save $90 and get a lawn mower
The way this man casually touched the bar oil as the saw was running!!!😂
ive made the comment in the past and ill do it again, my son is starting automotive mechanic school and the impacts would be a good thing for him to have with his tool kit that i purchased for him.
Are Timberland Pro safety-toed shoes worth getting to use in my home shop?
A 10% coupon would of gotten u close to what you paid.
Entertaining absolutely! Love the channel
Where’s your “store”. I actually like those work mates, good to have one or two string around. I got them for $10 each a few months ago when they were on clearance, I’d like another.
The 10 amp hour batteries are need for the lawn mowers. Will last forever in tools.
Good job guys.
Those Ryobi blowers work super well to clean stuff off too. Use it all the time
I have a couple of those b&d benches. I use them when I’m working on site , if i need to do my hinge mortises or handle, they hold doors perfectly.
4:30 ryobi honestly has some cool storage kits/organizers. And it's 1/3 the price of other name brands. I understand the dislike but for occasional things it's not bad. Certain tools I'll spend more but for things I don't use often ryobi is just fine.
I've been saying Doll-Hairs since the 80's. "So I'll pay you 100 doll-hairs?" ... lol
Do the blower mulchers actually work?
I doubt you'll ever get a nice pallet like the first one. The auction places have contract with the vendors that first aquire the product. Then the reach out to the places sell by the pallet or by item. At least that's what I've been told from I few places where I live (IN).
I got a slick Makita weed trimmer with all kinds of heads and blades and I forget the voltage I think it's weird like 24 V but got it for 89.00 bucks and that black n Decker is 80
What's the website for the good pallets
I love watching your video as an aspiring craftsman. Watching your tips and tricks helps me level up thank you
Ps you can send me those work tables that you don't like 😅
How much for the 10 ah dewalt Batts? I'm due for some new ones at work.
What do you do with all the stuff you get I’m a new home owner so I think it makes a lot of sense to get my own tools
I got one of those ryobi trimmers for a gift a few years back and its surprisingly reliable, and light.
I’d love to see if you can get your hands on returns from super premium tools like festool and Hilti. Probably would be tougher to source but I suspect there are a lot of speciality tools whom get returned after 1 job.
3:45 we bought one of those for my autistic brother to help him on yard work and it’s really nice. Going to buy one for my wife to help her.
Where did you buy the pallet?
What do you normally do with all the extra tools if you dont sell them
a lot of the stuff that you know you will never use, it would be unbelievable to guys like me in small shops with no decent tools to get some of the items you have multiples of. when we lost most of my tools a few years ago, to someone ripping my garage off, using my shop carts to steal my stuff while I was staying in the VA hospital for a month having back surgery, there has never been a time I could replace most of them.
