I highly recommend buying a shell replacement and I think you can take it apart with a tutorial, is not as hard as it seem and the result pays off really well.
I just got them in yesterday! They are by far the best switch joycons you can buy. The quality is so much better than colorware SNES Joycons. Also the D-pad feels so good. The finish makes touching the joycons very satisfying.
Is the paint job durable? If my fingernail accidentally slipped would it likely scratch paint off? I have made an order and I’m wondering if I should get cases for them
In my experience, the paint is SUPER durable. It's definitely more resistant to scratches and scuffs than the stock joy-con. I'm still super careful with them but mine remain scratch-free to this day 👍
They are by far more durable then regular joycons. highly recommend XL TEAM on Etsy. I really do not recommend Colorware as the paint on buttons and surface of joycons were damaged in a matter of months.
I just purchased these recently and bit the bullet...the style, the fact that it's a built in dpad (the version I got at least), my only worry is if it has drift will nintendo still offer to fix it? Maybe a dumb question, would just ease my mind a bit to know. Thanks for the video!!
Thanks for watching! Congrats, you're going to love them! I know the shop has had a bit of trouble keeping up with orders with everything going on, but I promise it will be worth the wait. Unfortunately, I doubt Nintendo would offer free repairs on modified joy-con, but I imagine you would be able to pay for it. If it's any consolation, I have almost every joy-con color variant and I've only had to send in a single left one. Let me know what you think when they show up!
Me too! Those are a somewhat newer design for them and they're probably my favorite ones! I love the detail on the dpad and I like the idea of transforming the Switch with the theme of its grandfather. The look is somewhat similar to the SNES ones though and with the popularity of Animal Crossing right now, I wanted to check out the Animal Crossing ones. Let me know if you ever get the Game Boy ones, I'd love to see some pics! Thanks for watching!
@@NeiltendoPower if I ever perchase custom joy cons those will definitely be the ones I buy. I'm already saving up for one. Gotta build a portable Wii first tho lol
I think Etsy is the only place this company’s joy-con are sold. It’s pretty reputable site with decent customer protection policies so I think you’d be fine 👍
How are these holding up for you over time any discoloring paint chipping? I took the plunge and ordered the super famicom d-pad version should be here few weeks.
I get this question so often. I’m not saying joy-con drift isn’t real, but I have so many joy-con and have only experienced it once with a single left joy-con out of the box. I’ve had this pair for years and put in 100s of hours on them and they work just as well as when I bought them. I think the whole drift thing is blown waaay out of proportion
So dope wish they weren’t so expensive
Thanks for sharing, cool to see them in video
Thanks for watching!
Me: OMG THIS LOOKS SO COOL I BETTER ASK MY MUM!!!!
Also me: *looks at price*
Me: o_o
Amazon joycons shell replacement, if you're good taking apart technology.
I’ll do it for 30 bucks if you want😂

Great review! I bought the Animal Crossing ones from XLTeam about 5 weeks ago and I’m super looking forward to getting them.
Thanks for watching! It definitely takes quite a while, but the wait will be worth it!
All girls buying switch to play animal crossing
I just checked he only has 137 subs? Wow talk about underrated
You've got me sold haha
Beautiful! Although definitely out of my price range. ❤
What a coincidence I have some that similar snes joycons being mailed to me now. Only difference is the the dpad instead of buttons on left joycon.
Nice! That pair looks awesome. I still have yet to get a d-pad pair from XLTeam. Let me know how you like them!

I'd buy them but I feel like it would be a waste of money because they would get Joycon drift :'(

Thanks! They’re a bit pricey but they look SO GOOD
@@NeiltendoPower they do! How much were they? Just curious

So I never did any shopping on Etsy before would you recommend me buying from this website or is there another way to get these joycons

@@NeiltendoPower it's definitely real. All 6 of my joycons drifted but I fixed them up by opening them and replacing the analogs.
Thats alles suuuper teuer..
Spend $200 for them to just drift within 6 months…
Nah dude. Had them over 2 years with zero problems.
