      Probably still my favorite mod also. My bronco seems cheap with its bas wheel so I need to do that next.

      It seems the steering wheel I bought from Europe doesn't have that rubber part on the inside. Is it easy to take off and get moved to the new steering wheel? I did got the flat bottom wheel for mk8 focus and fiesta.

      @dearbulls not sure what piece you're talking about. Hopefully it will just transfer over. Everything seemed the same except for the bottom middle fascia pieces.

    Great vid, the only thing I would do extra because I had this problem with my focus, is add Loctite to that steering wheel bolt.

      @@TheCorneringStore Only three 3 years later, I kept driving around thinking it was something else, took it into the dealership and they said that the main bolt was about to fall out completely. So a good thing it didn't and I recommended the Loctite..been good ever since 3 years later.

    I'm going to replace my steering wheel in my fiesta, but how can you turn the steering wheel after the battery has been disconnected?

    • @TheCorneringStore
      @TheCorneringStore  15 дней назад

      @arashinolove3827 check to see if your wheel is locked. It wasn't a problem for me. I think you can turn it far enough without it locking. I didn't even think of it so it wasn't an issue apparently.

    Thanks. Great video. Could you have swapped the bottom center insert out with the solid black if you preferred not to have the ST logo?

    • @TheCorneringStore
      @TheCorneringStore  Год назад

      I didn't try to,but there were some differences in how those fascia pieces did fit that I swapped so I'm not sure that you could swap over the maverick ones, but I have seen other people with the same wheel I have that didn't have the ST logo. They must have either been able to swap them, found an part that is compatible to swap with no logo or bought one of the covers like a cf trim piece, which I have seen for sale on ebay.

    Only thing I want to know is if there is a program to allow paddle shifting on the 2.0T.

    • @TheCorneringStore
      @TheCorneringStore  Год назад

      If there was a good auto trans on the 2.0 it would have been hard for me to not buy it instead of a hybrid. 2.0T with awd and some paddle shifters (manual preferred) would be a lot of fun!

    The one seller from Poland has the steering wheel but it has paddle shifter on it. Would that steering wheel still work on the hybrid?

    • @TheCorneringStore
      @TheCorneringStore  Год назад +1

      That is from the ST "line" model with an automatic transmission would be my guess. I'd think it would fit physically since it's from a fiesta, but I wouldn't trust the wiring etc to be the same or that to not possibly be a problem.

  • @dannymcgirr

    So where did you source the wheel from? Is there a good place to get these take-offs so you know you're getting the right thing?

    • @TheCorneringStore
      @TheCorneringStore  Год назад +2

      I purchased mine from an Ebay seller in Poland. Look on the regular USA ebay and search for "Fiesta MK8 Steering wheel". You'll see some international sellers, but not all ship to the USA.

    Would the heat option still work if I have the heated steering wheel on my XLT?

    • @TheCorneringStore
      @TheCorneringStore  Год назад +1

      Not unless the new steering wheel was a heated option wheel also. I'm not sure if the fiesta ST offered a heated wheel option, but they may have since it gets pretty cold in many areas where they sell (europe) it so that may be part of a package offered with the car.

    • @michaelacevedo7907

      @@TheCorneringStore I had a 2017 Focus ST that had the option. I think it's the same wheel.

    • @TheCorneringStore
      @TheCorneringStore  Год назад

      @michaelacevedo7907 I had a 14' fiesta and it was similar, but there is a definite difference in the later model ones as far as the button layout. I didn't look at focus ones because everyone seems to only go for the fiesta wheels so I assumed they are the best/only option.

  • @garyehmcke943

    is it a heated wheel ??.

    • @TheCorneringStore
      @TheCorneringStore  28 дней назад

      @garyehmcke943 mine is not because my truck didn't c9ke with a heated wheel, but they did make these ST wheels with hear so you could add one and retain heat... ir it can be added to trucks without the option with some effort. I'm pretty sure I've seen some people go through the trouble of adding the wiring etc.

    Did the steering on your new wheel feel more loose? Mine does not sure if it’s normal

    • @TheCorneringStore
      @TheCorneringStore  Год назад

      It should feel exactly the same. The wheel shouldn't affect anything other than the way the leather feels in your hands compared to the cheap original wheel. There shouldn't be any play at all and switching wheels shouldn't give any chance for that. Did you make a suspension change or anything else?

    • @angelalmazan2389

      @@TheCorneringStore I have a strut tower brace not sure if that makes a difference to the wheel, do you think I possibly didn’t tighten the bolt enough?

    • @TheCorneringStore
      @TheCorneringStore  Год назад +1

      @angelalmazan2389 if the actual wheel feels loose then it would have to be the nut is loose. Strut Brace wouldn't affect it. I have a hybrid, but I was very close to getting a 2.0 turbo AWD so hearing about the strut tower Brace makes me kinda jealous haha. Before this I had a Fiesta ST with a hybrid turbo swap and all the bolt ons tuned on E30 putting down 290/300 at the wheels. The maverick would easily do better than that.
