  • In this channel, we install the incredible 8x10 conversion kit created by Klaus Lundsgaard. This kit, for 580 Euros, includes an LED lightsource, 8x10 adapter and dual-glass negative carrier. We cover everything I did to get this installed on my Durst 139G.

      Thank you, Tony! I can’t wait to use it. I’ll get some printing videos up once I get through my fall trips

      I thought about that but I had used up my
      Last wheel cutting down some bolts and foolishly thought I could saw through by hand faster than I could drive to the store and back.

      I definitely will! I’ll wait until I’ve used it for several sessions before posting an update to give it a fair use

    Really looking forward to the update video, wondering if you have had the chance to do some contrast test? I’ve hade some problems with leds and the color temp of them and not getting the full contrast range. Filter 5 was actually filter 4,3ish. Tests were made with ilford filters and a step wedge. Maybe buying a kit for my durst 184!

      Hoping to have an update video in January. I want to make sure I get to use it a few times and get a feel for it but I will definitely do a test on the contrast range as well and discuss it in the update video. The 184 is a beast, I’m jealous!

    I would curious to know if the new 8x10 glass negative carrier will produce Newton's rings without an Anti-Newton's rings glass as the top glass. The Kit looks great - happy printing!😊

      I asked that same question and was assured by several that have used it (and the seller) it wouldn’t be a problem. I’m still waiting to give it a full
      Test and will do an update video once I do. Thanks for watching!

    Hi, thanks for sharing.
    I have the S45 from Durst which is basically a copy of yours. I wonder how you will fit the 240mm lens into this lens turret?
    I guess the 240mm is much too big to fit into the holes of the actual turret. For me, I can not replace the lens turret with anything else since the red filter post is screwed into the inside of the light chamber.

      Great question. It requires a flange/lens mount that extends the rear element of the lens beyond the holes of the turret. You can see one on the 210 I have mounted in the turret now. They’re very hard to find, unfortunately. The other option is of course to mount it to a single lens mount and then swap out the turret any time I want to print 8x10, which is obviously an annoyance.

    how do you like your schneider 240mm lense?

    • @MrNegative
      @MrNegative  7 месяцев назад

      To date I’ve only really used it for 6x17. The largest prints I’ve made in that format are ~8x24” so It’s not a huge enlargement. With that said, I’ve been pleased with the results. Any shortcomings are in my own abilities, not the lens!
