koh tao is nice when you slow down your pace after the first week. when you sit outside paradise massage in sairee and watch the people going by at the brick road, you can see how long they are on the island by how fast or slow they are walking. it happens to me to. in the first week i have to visit places, people. going to this restaurant, coffee shop, bar,.... after about 8 days i start from kind of tourist mode to 'i live there' mode. this is the time where i get into a slow paced mode, where the mind gets rest, where the real vacation begins. and when the creativity kicks in again.
Great video me and my girlfriend are setting off to travel round Thailand start of December we can’t wait these videos are getting us so Excited hope your having good time!
Be respectful and courteous to locals, if being hustled or short changed, leave it don't make a fuss, be vigilant of your surroundings there, if someone keeps staring at you and the vibe about them is off, don't make eye contact, follow your intuition, trust your instincts, don't walk anywhere alone and keep safety minded on everything and you should have a good time
hope you had a good time. october/november can get a bit windy and rainy. nevertheless, this does not affect the quality of the food and cappuccino 5555
Thank you so much! Comments like these make all of this worth while! We would love to know how you get on doing your PADI in Koh Tao, drop us a message on here or insta :) xx
Hi guys, can you advise more on how you got to the island? Where did you fly into? How did you arrange the ferry? Any advice would be welcome. Loved your video!! Looking to book this place now! X
Hey! So we flew into Bangkok and then got a train to Surat Thani. Then a bus and boat to Koh Samui and from there we got boats to Koh Pagnan then Koh Tao
But it’s super easy. You can either get to Surat Thani to then get a bus and boat direct to Koh Tao. OR fly to Koh Samui and get a boat there. There’s travel agencies everywhere
end of september is usually pretty stable, in october there is more rain and wind. november is rainy season. sometimes a bit of rain is nice, it slows down your pace. which is good if you are not able to do this by yourself.
Heyyy! First of all I love your videos they are soo interesting and amazingly in detail! So I will be going next year feb and was wondering if and where Is best to do diving and snorkelling? I’ve never done it before and really would love to do it, If I need to do specific lessons/courses or equipment etc? Sorry for all the questions I’m just clustered with questions on where to start?!
Thanks so much! The diving in Koh Tao is great and the cheapest in the world. We dived with Koh Tao divers. If you just want to snorkel there are loads of spots by the pier you can book on (we only dived or took ourselves snorkelling at sharks bay but best to do an organised tour for the best spots)
Great video with spectacular views! I'm going to be on Koh Tao for three days in February. I was wondering about the logistics to get to Koh Nang Yuan. Did you and your driver set a certain when you would want to return or did you take s boat that was waiting over there? And was ist 300 Baht to just get there for each person or is the way back included?
LOVE TO HEAR THIS! If you haven’t checked out our RUclips or tiktok yet we suggest you do and look at the more detailed tips we have there to help plan your trip :)
great vid, sound is a bit ropey in places though, and would have been nice to know prices of the food you ate,.but you two are a very engaging couple...keep up the good work
Ropey in which sense? Food was very cheap on the whole. I’d say we’d spend about £10 for two people if we had a starter, main and non-alcoholic drink each 🙏🏼 thanks for the feedback 🤍
@@livandlew go to 2.29, 3.44 and 4.30....give you some examples of the sound not being great..I am not criticising...just constructive feedback is all..
@@nicrutherford9745 sorry misread your original message and thought you’d said Koh Tao sounds ropey! 😂 thanks for the feedback will try fix that up in the coming vids 🙏🏼
Both very different! Koh Tao is small and requires only 5 days to do everything. Bali is massive and you could spend weeks and weeks there! We loved both
Have been to both islands. koh tao is better. no one is ripping you off there. after arriving in bali, the first thing is that the taxi driver tries to rip you off. east of bali there are the gilli islands. diving on gilli travangan is nice. but the thai food is 10 times better and there are really gemstones in koh tao when it comes to food. ananas restaurant, treehouse, horizon on the way to tanote, mellow submarine, blue chair, zest in mae haad and sairee, .... every second day a thai or oil massage is great. oil massage for beginners, thai massage for advanced who can take a bit of pain. the best advice that i can give all tourists there: doing less is more rewarding. you can not have a vacation by doing island hopping and making a busy schedule. this is the biggest mistake that many tourists are making. wear flip flops as a help to slow you down every time when you get out of your room and put on your flip flops let this remind you that their function is to slow you down. which is the most important feature.
@@englishquizfactory As the author of the video perfeclty understood, my comment was about the caption, not the voice off. Get your brain checked, please. Do not pollute this nice video with pointless comments.
You can do an adventure dive without having done a certification but usually to dive often it’s better to do a certification (we have our PADI open water & advanced) ☺️. Hope this helps!
@@livandlew good to hear, your place did look lush though. Yet to find decent flights, Thailand is either dearer than Vietnam (last year's trip) or flights or prices have rocketed.
have been there 19 times, multiple weeks each. always felt safe. but there are some rules: never be rude and try to understand that rude means something different in different cultures. and a rude person would never consider himself as rude. never get loud!!! if you have a problem with something, try to solve the conflict as polite as even possible. mistakes/misbehavior because of not understanding the culture is always YOUR fault. if you order a spicy dish and tell the waiter to not make it spicy. you CANNOT complain about the dish if it is still too spicy. it is YOUR fault. if your rent a motorbike, look out for an old one that has scratches everywhere. tell them that you don't want to pay for additional scratches. if someone else scratches your bike, it is YOUR fault. never put toilet paper in the toilet, use the bum gun instead of the toilet paper. don't touch thai wifes. literally. those are the rules. if you don't understand them, please do not visit thailand.
Everywhere there are good people and bad people. When traveling, don't go to scary places where there are no dangerous people. Have fun in Thailand from Thai people.🥰🇹🇭🙏
in koh tao, the bad people are usually tourists behaving bad, being rude, aggressive, loud, unpleasant drunk, but they do not see themselves this way. that usually happens around the loud party places. the more quiet places are everywhere but sairee. i also go to some places in sairee but i don't stay there. especially the clubs like fishbowl, a.c. bar and choppers pub craw are just about loud music and drinking as much alcohol as people can handle (or not handle). at daytime it is still nice and in the morning, when the zombies are sleeping at a restaurant on sairee beach is very nice and peaceful.

Think that’s the way with most destinations. Finding a balance between travel and rest and relaxation. Koh Tao is a great place for both

Do you need certificates or training to do scuba diving
You can do an adventure dive without having done a certification but usually to dive often it’s better to do a certification (we have our PADI open water & advanced) ☺️. Hope this helps!
most of the diving licenses on this world are made in koh tao. there so many dive schools. which means no one can ask an unfair high price for it.
£200 a night, wow, that would do me two weeks, maybe Koh Tao is just expensive?
Huge variance of prices there depending on quality

The increasing number of tourist getting killed there in Koh Tao is disturbing. Beware and travel safe!
Always important to be safe, we really felt safe when we went although had heard the stories from the past.
